Saudis treat Xi like Trump, not Biden

When President Donald Trump made his first state visit, it was to Saudi Arabia.

It was a gala affair with sword dances and pageantry. His wife and Jewish daughter and her Jewish family received lavish praise and Page One coverage in the state newspapers. And when the presidential visit was over, President Trump broke protocol and became the first person to fly direct to Israel from Saudi Arabia.

A few years later, 5 Muslim countries and Israel signed the Abraham Accords, a Nobel Peace Prize-worthy agreement brokered by Trump's son-in-law. It ended 70 years of official hostility between the Muslims and Israel.

Today, Chairman Xi began his three-day visit to Riyadh. While his reception was nowhere near the Trumpian Triumph, it was better than the back of the hand the Saudis gave Biden, who begged for oil.

Zero Hedge reported, "President Xi Jinping has touched down in Riyadh on Wednesday, kicking off a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia this week to meet with the king, in what marks his third trip outside the country since the coronavirus pandemic began, and his first to the kingdom since 2016 -- or over six years ago. He was greeted with a lavish reception at the airport as the royals rolled out the red carpet, in notable contrast with Biden's somewhat muted presence in Jeddah in mid-July.

"The state-run Saudi Press Agency reported that King Salman initiated an invite for the Chinese leader 'to bolster historic ties and strategic partnership between the two countries.' China's Foreign Ministry only unveiled and confirmed the trip Wednesday morning, hours before Xi's plane entered Saudi airspace, after months of rumors of the impending official visit. SPA noted that initial agreements worth nearly $30 billion are to be signed during the bilateral summit, against the backdrop of the China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC Summit in Riyadh, which will be chaired by King Salman and attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman."

The Saudis and Red China are embracing one another despite Red China's embrace of Iran, which is Saudi Arabia's chief enemy.

The reason for this new alliance is Joe Biden. His ill-considered and outrageous economic sanctions and seizure of yachts and the like against Russia have given pause to the rest of the civilized world. The question for world leaders is what will this tinhorn dictator do to their countries if they run afoul of his constantly evolving foreign policy?

World leaders and their foreign ministers have met Tony Blinken, our silly secretary of state. They read the papers. They know the turmoil inside America. They see through all the excuses. They know a cabal of business interests and deep staters run our government in a manner contrary to American ideals, American history and the American people.

If you see the possibility of a civil war on the horizon, then world leaders see it too and act accordingly. Self-preservation is a force in the universe

The Guardian reported, "China’s president will meet more than 30 heads of state and business leaders during his three-day visit to the Saudi capital, which is set to lead to a strategic agreement between the authoritarian powers. The trip is the culmination of decades of cooperation once based on oil sales, which has grown into bilateral trade of close to $90 billion a year."

Under Trump, the world began to unite against Red China.

Under Biden, the world embraces Red China.

  4. Interesting column, Don. If China had to pick sides, would it side with Iran or Saudi Arabia? People tend to forget Trump's accomplishments.

    1. They don't have to pick sides. They can trade with both while we trade with neither. Plus China isn't going to force any Middle East country to support LGBT+.

    2. Commie china doesn't have to pick sides, it has it's own side as primary and there is no secondary.

Essentially cutthroat capitalists, the dictatorship, masked by communistic propogandas, does as all cutthroats do.

The instructable asian is as transparent as thin air.

ALL for my tribe and none for your's more than neccessary to exploit your's.

The dictstorship of china does not want an American dictatorship competitor.

Nor a partner, beyond a submissive one, which rendrrs any partnership into a servitude state.

Better flush all of that last century delusional philosophies.

We're back to the days of barbarians.

  5. So, the world looks at the United Staters of America and sees civil war looming on our horizon. I believe it goes deeper than that. IMHO the world is hoping and praying for the good people of this nation to correct our problems and get back to being the force for good on this planet and take our rightful place as the greatest nation on earth and the only Constitutional Republic in history.
Folks, it is high time we got to work.

    1. China has no reason not to have agreements with both. No one in Iran is chanting Death to China and no one in China is condemning Saudi Arabia for killing a CIA agent.

Frankly, it seems like many of the countries in Asia and the Middle East are making trade agreements with Russia and China. Looks like we'll get a real cleaving between the West and the East. Luckily our economy will be powered by windmills and unicorn farts!

    5. Actually SA is picking up some trade on the cheap. Don't think for a moment SA doesn't know the terrible shape China is in. So take the money, when China isn't a great deal just end it. It's not like China has the ability to project military power to defend it.

      Smart business by the Saudis.

  9. With respect to Saudi Arabia, an article in the Jerusalem Post predicts that Israeli-Saudi ties are on the horizon, though it make take some time to finalize. What's holding things up is Biden's behavior, not anything objectionable Israel is doing. The implication here is that the Saudis have had enough of the Palestinian tail wagging the Arab dog. Israel's position is one of patience. Once Netanyahu forms his government, he is likely to have friendly chats with Biden that keeping the Saudis happy may not require a financial burden on the U.S. treasury and the rewards will be as good for us as for all the other applicable Middle Eastern parties.
