Wait until you see what climate change is going to do to Arizona... https://t.co/h3kJhTwhEA
— Wajahat Ali (@WajahatAli) September 8, 2022
ITEM 1: A climate change communist said climate change will bring desert-like conditions to Arizona.
Most of Arizona is in the Sonoran Desert.
ITEM 2: WaPo asked, "Did forecasts of an extra-busy hurricane season turn out dead wrong?"
A little betting advice: Always bet against a climate change prediction because none of them are right.
ITEM 3: Townhall reported, "The kidnapping suspect accused of abducting and now-charged with murdering 34-year-old schoolteacher Eliza 'Liza' Fletcher, whose slain body was found by Memphis police Monday, has a previous abduction conviction and was released early from state prison in 2020, according to court records viewed by Townhall.
"Townhall's review of 38-year-old Cleotha 'Cleo' Dewayne Abston's extensive criminal history shows that he spent 20 years in a state penitentiary after he was convicted of kidnapping an attorney in a similar violent fashion back in 2000 when the suspect was age 16. Abston kidnapped Memphis-based criminal defense lawyer Kemper Durand at gunpoint on the victim's way home from the office and demanded his car keys. Durand was then forced into the cold darkness of his vehicle's trunk for several hours while Abston, alongside an accomplice, drove the victim's car throughout the city. The victim was pulled out from time to time to repeatedly withdraw cash from several ATM machines and hand the money over to Abston. Durand's assailants fled—and were later captured—when a nearby security guard aided his rescue at a Mapco gas station."
Execution has a zero percent recidivism rate.
ITEM 4: Axios reported, "A slip-up by social media giant Snap allowed leading Democratic campaigns and party committees to unwittingly tap into a vast repository of Republican voter data to hone their midterm ads, Axios has learned."
The only slip-up was this evil betrayal became public knowledge.
ITEM 5: The Telegraph reported, "Britons must never again be forced to pay exorbitant energy bills, Liz Truss will declare on Thursday as she promises more North Sea drilling and ditches the fracking ban.
"Annual energy bills will be frozen at around £2,500 for the average household both this winter and next, and green levies will be scrapped.
"Businesses will get protection from energy price rises in a pandemic-style government intervention that could end up costing more than £150 billion.
"But on Wednesday, the pound plummeted to its weakest level since 1985 on the new Prime Minister’s first full day in office as markets appeared to balk at the scale of the move to tackle bills, underscoring the financial challenges ahead."
Fracking is back?
There is a small sliver of hope for UK left.
ITEM 6: Zion's Bank, founded by Brigham Young in 1873, backed out of sponsoring a groomer's event in Boise.
KIDO reported, "Zion's Bank has announced via social media that they will not be supporting this year's Gay Pridefest event in Boise this weekend. The Bank said that while they historically have supported the LGBTQ community, and employees, the organization will withdraw its sponsorship due to the children's drag show that has been promoted on fliers."
Hey, creeper, leave them kids alone.
ITEM 7: We should check Biden's new Monkeypox Czar for monkeypox.

I whistled YMCA as I posted this.
ITEM 8: Fox reported, "A new 30-second television ad released by a political committee supporting Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz blasts his Democrat opponent, John Fetterman, over a 2013 incident when he pulled a gun on a black jogger he mistakenly suspected of a crime."
The victim says he supports Fetterman for the Senate.
As long as 90% of black people tether themselves to the Democrat Party, they as a people will never be totally free.
ITEM 9: The Daily Mail reported, "Recruitment numbers for the Army are at historic lows as Americans are either too fat or criminal to join to defend the country, an Army general warned.
"Lt. Gen Xavier Brunson, the commander of Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state, theorized as to why recruitment is so low following a July statement from the Army that announced it wouldn't meet its 485,000 recruitment goal for 2022, falling short by a staggering 20,000 recruits."
Brunson said, "Some of the challenges we have are obesity, we have pre-existing medical conditions, we have behavioral health problems, we have criminality, people with felonies, and we have drug use. This is not an Army problem, this is an American problem."
No, actually it is an Army problem. Surrendering Afghanistan, kicking out unvaccinated soldiers and declaring that all Trump supporters are domestic terrorists sent the message that Uncle Sam doesn't want us.
ITEM 10: The Daily Wire reported, "Media giant Cumulus cut ties Tuesday with Podcast Movement, the trade association that vilified The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro last month for simply appearing at a recent trade show where he cordially greeted fans near a booth sponsored by the company he co-founded.
"Cumulus, the Atlanta-based owner of over 400 radio stations, has syndicated Shapiro’s eponymous show through its Westwood One subsidiary since 2019. The company took exception to tweets sent out by Podcast Movement apologizing for Shapiro’s presence at the August 24 event in Dallas. The tweets claimed harm had been done to event-goers simply because the conservative commentator had briefly attended."
Good for Cumulus. May its tribe increase.
ITEM 11: Geo Political Futures reported, "Germany’s foreign minister suggested this week that Germany cannot send more of its own weapons to Ukraine because it has deficient supplies. If this story is true, it means that Germany, with the largest economy in Europe, does not have the facilities to rapidly produce more weapons – despite pledging money for the production of weapons for Ukraine. The money matters, but only to an extent. The capacity of other NATO countries to provide weapons to Ukraine has production limits as well. Although the German problem was anticipated from almost the beginning of the war in Ukraine, and Germany has provided cash in place of weapons, there are several considerations."
Once again, Trump was right.
He castigated Germany and other NATO hangers on for failing to live up to their promise to spend 2% of their GDP on the military. German spending was half that rate.
Then these dummkopf began giving armaments to Ukraine.
The USA cutting bait on NATO would do everyone a favor as it would force Europe to defend itself.
ITEM 12: The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, "Less than a day after asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the stabbing death of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German, police arrested Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles on Wednesday on suspicion of murder, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said."
What could possibly be the motive in killing German?
The story said, "German spent months reporting on the turmoil surrounding Telles’ oversight of the public administrator’s office.
"The 45-year-old Democrat lost his re-election bid in June’s primary after German’s findings were published. German also had recently filed public records requests for emails and text messages between Telles and three other county officials: Assistant Public Administrator Rita Reid, estate coordinator Roberta Lee-Kennett and consultant Michael Murphy. Lee-Kennett was identified in previous stories as a subordinate staffer allegedly involved in an 'inappropriate relationship' with Telles."
A member of an endangered species died: an Honest Journalist.
ITEM 13: The Daily Caller reported, "President Joe Biden’s new senior adviser has maintained ties with a Chinese government influence operative for over 10 years, the Daily Caller News Foundation found.
"Since at least 2009, Democratic powerbroker John Podesta, former chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, has cooperated with Tung Chee-hwa and his Chinese Communist Party-backed organization, the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), according to CUSEF’s annual reports. Podesta sits on CUSEF’s 'U.S.-China 2022 Steering Committee' and has written at least three articles for its website since 2011 — the same year in which he appeared on the front cover of the group’s annual report."
Podesta is a bagman.
Democrats and RINOs are looting the federal treasury like street gangs stripping a luxury store of Rolexes and Louis Vuitton purses.
ITEM 14: Zero Hedge reported, "The slowdown in Taiwan's exports is further evidence that the risks to the global economic outlook are tilted to the downside and could imply more turmoil is ahead.
"A statement from the Finance Ministry in Taipei said exports grew a paltry 2% in August compared with the same month last year -- the slowest pace of growth since July 2020, when exports only grew by 0.3%. Bloomberg noted economists were expecting an increase of 11.6%."
The recession continues.
ITEM 15: The Washington Examiner reported, "A federal judge in Texas has ruled that a provision of Obamacare requiring most health insurance plans to cover HIV prevention drugs for free violates employers' religious freedom.
"Judge Reed O'Connor for the Northern District of Texas sided with Braidwood Management that the provision violated the company's rights under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, setting up what could be a lengthy legal battle to invalidate compulsory coverage of preventive services, including cancer screenings and flu shots."
The government should not be in the medical business.
HEADLINE OF THE DAY: KTLA reported, "Speeding woman on cocaine kills drunk driver high on meth in North Las Vegas, police say."
Sad story. Don't drink and drive. Don't meth and drive. Don't coke and drive.
COMMENT OF THE DAY: Anonymous wrote, "Everything going on in CA is a man made and created disaster. From the fires, the water, the bay, the lack of electricity production, and on and on and on... California is a 24/7 man made disaster, all of which could have been avoided."

Randy says: Item 5: “Liz Truss … promises more North Sea drilling and ditches the fracking ban.” Energy independence for England? Great! She’s off to a good start.
ReplyDelete“Annual energy bills will be frozen at around £2,500” Then she turns into Jimmy Carter with government-imposed price controls. She’s no Margaret Thatcher.
German Foreign Minister: I will put Ukraine first “no matter what my German voters think”
DeleteThe video:

United States and Europe Shoot Themselves In the Head, Blame Russia
DeleteThis Ukraine obsession with money and arms has got to stop. Let them fight it out with Russia until one side gives in. I am so done with this war. (Again, I don't mean to make light of the suffering of innocent people. But, really, Zelensky is a corrupt, money-sucking pol.)
DeleteShe had zero choice - the government created the problem, they have to pay for it. If they were going to give a subsidy and do nothing to increase actual supply I would be with you. But scrapping green subsidies, while making concrete plans to increase more traditional energy production seems like a decent tradeoff.
DeleteI'm just enjoying seeing the green energy revolution fall apart - the greatest is California, you can't have gas powered cars, but you can't charge your EV. Excellent PR. California had made inroads in linking blue state silliness across the country. Now, some of those states are running away from California. Excellent.
I have very little confidence in Truss. She is not a conservative.
DeleteMargaret Thatcher would have absolutely zero chance of becoming PM today, so it might be fruitless to compare Truss to her. Just saying.
Delete3. ReplyDeleteItem 12. Commiedem modus operandi is violence and murder if they don't get their criminal way.
ReplyDelete3 - there was another incident in Memphis last night. Four dead. The killer, 19, should have been in jail. He was let out early from his earlier crimes.

DeleteSee???? Too many guns!
Delete4 - the “mistakes” always slant one way.
ReplyDelete13 - Podesta and his brother should have been in jail years ago. If they were republicans, they would have been.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. If I recall correctly, wasn't John Podesta the guy in the Wikileaks Hillary e-mails that said he couldn't meet with someone right then, he had to go to a Satanic Mass first?
DeleteWatch out for those upside-down pentangle people...
I am shocked. Economists are wrong again.
ReplyDeleteEconomics is the arts/humanities department at universities. Is it any wonder these folks are wrong?
DeleteEconomists can be much more accurate. Too many of them work for institutions that don't allow them to practice what they were taught. They instead are required to parrot a particular political viewpoint.
DeleteMy daughter is studying economics. I don't think it's for her and she is starting to think that, too.- But not my decision. The university she is at now has a new economics course aimed at women and economics -- some sort of woke course about how women were marginalized, blah, blah, blah. Ridiculous.
DeleteLuAnn, I think I'd do whatever I could to get her out of that institution. A constant, daily barrage of the nonsense can be dangerous.
DeleteI think she is realizing this own her own. Fingers crossed. I think she has a better head for business and I see some practical opportunities for her both educationally and in hands-on experience.
DeleteI enjoy economics - the kind practiced by Bastiat, Mises, Friedman, Sowell, Walter Williams, etc. I concentrated in economics and quant analysis in grad school.
DeleteI hate the Krugman-Keynes economics.
Agree, Mr. Lardmaster. (I just can't call you Schlongy. It doesn't seem right for me.)
DeleteBastiat -- my fave; the champion of private property, and the rise of the middle class. zb
DeleteITEM 1: There has been a lot of news about Lake Mead drying up, and people are claiming it's drought due to climate change. According to an article in The American Spectator today:
ReplyDeleteSo, why is Lake Mead losing so much water? The answer is overuse. … Lake Mead is being drained. It’s not climate change. In other words, more water is being taken out of Lake Mead than is being put back in from snowmelt. It’s like a bank account.
https://spectator.org/lake-mead-is-draining-not-climate-changing/
Good comment, Kitty. It is so very tiresome that every single bloody change to the environment is caused by "climate change." Look at the story of the poo-filled water in SF. Man-caused not climate change.
DeleteThe west coast governments' water infrastructure planning apparatus, especially California, is abysmal. I'm waiting for Colorado to start aggressively controlling the Colorado River watershed. Arizona and California be damned.
Delete2: An overactive hurricane season is due to man-made climate change. An under active hurricane season is due to man-made climate change.
ReplyDeleteRandy says: Comment: “the spam about making a billion dollars an hour is the trade-off for keeping comments unfiltered and allowing people to say their piece without having to register.” Yes, but… it would be nice if people who comment anonymously would “sign” their posts, even with a pseudonym, so readers could link their current thoughts to previous comments. The commenters’ community on this blog is different than most others. We have dozens of commenters here, not hundreds, so it’s easy to “get to know people” here. The community knows that I, Richard Hertz, and Trump’s Owner live in Florida, LuAnn is in Canada, and so forth. We know that Knifecatcher is antisemitic, Schlongy is Jewish, and edutcher is obsessed with Jeffrey. When a new comment is posted by someone we know, we can put in the context of their previous posts. We can’t do that with “Anonymous” posts. Unsigned posts are a one-off “drive-by” comment with no history or context. They may be good or bad, thoughtful or ridiculous, right or wrong. They add to the conversation, but at least in my case, they are held in lower esteem than comments by people who are proud enough of their thoughts to sign them. I’m not suggesting a registration process to comment, but rather a voluntary self-identification, even with a pseudonym, so that we can put today’s comment by “Joe Blow” in the context of other comments by “Joe Blow.” I mean, really… how hard is it to add “Randy says:” at the beginning or “—TJ” at the end? Just my two cents.
ReplyDelete
DeleteSo who are you, “I” anonymous?
Randy says: “I” is a self-reference, linked to “Randy says:” prepended to the comment, as in “I live in Florida.” Try to keep up, no-name.
DeleteGood comment, Randy. Appreciated. What I really like about this blog is that commenters do know each other via what they say. Commenters are respectful, with a few exceptions, and Don puts up with all of us.
DeleteEleanor is a white fluffy dog who doesn't bark all that often, but reads all of the posts and comments here everyday. Her owner's family tree has roots in what is now West Virginia that go back to the mid-18th century. Don's location is what initially drew Eleanor to the blog. That and a shared delight in driving around in a convertible with the wind in her fur.
DeleteI agree, Randy.
DeleteNice Randy... I agree. And I look forward for Don to arrange a nice weekend for commenters at The Greenbrier so we can tee em up, have a nice cocktail and meet in person.
DeleteT.O. That get-together at the Greenbrier will take place right after Don gets his Bentley. I think he'll probably bring there to show us and maybe even give us a ride in it.

Hell Bent For Leather is more descriptive than my name.
When I comment, sometimes it puts in a screen name, sometimes it just says anonymous. Not sure why it does what it does sometimes. Probably a result of my using Firefox. Somethings do not play nice together.

ReplyDeleteAt least not as welcome as the other sorts.

DeleteAlways pray for peace. However, even in our current woke state - our military would wipe the Russians out in days, not weeks. And China's vaunted navy would be sunk the minute they left their docking areas.
DeleteChina and Russia have nukes. Nothing else of worry. We've seen how bad Russia's military is in Ukraine.
Israeli women performing required military service tend to tailor their fatigues for a tight fit and report for duty wearing some makeup. As a result, they have gained a worldwide following on Instagram and YouTube from lovelorn men.

DeleteIt's a long standing tradition. The sons of Tammany have been looting the treasury and selling influence since 1788. Boss tweed stressed that the $25 million he stole was from " clean graft."
ReplyDelete5 - "pandemic-style government intervention that could end up costing more than £150 billion"
ReplyDeleteThe government will tackle the rising prices from inflation by printing more money to create more inflation. Brilliant!!!
8 - "As long as 90% of black people tether themselves to the Democrat Party, they as a people will never be totally free."
Stupid is as stupid does.
11 - "Germany cannot send more of its own weapons to Ukraine because it has deficient supplies."
Whenever I hear some US politician or some other lying sack of shit say that Putin must be stopped before he takes over all of Europe, I have to ask, why would Putin want to have to take care of all the retarded losers in Europe?
13 - "Democrats and RINOs are looting the federal treasury"
And cowardly Americans do nothing as the future of their children and grandchildren is destroyed by these criminals.
14 - "The slowdown in Taiwan's exports"
Thanks Pelosi!
11 - Putin wants parts of Europe. The Balkins, part of Poland, etc. The only reason to attack Ukraine was to get further to maintain their security desires. Guard the invasion gaps into Russia. He also wants to dictate military postures of Finland, Sweden, etc.
DeleteI'm happy to take shots at all the graft surrounding Ukraine. I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and pretend I don't know why it is happening and why we want Russia bogged down in Ukraine as along as we can do it.
That's an interesting point of view with merit. I hadn't thought of it that way. I don't have a lot of knowledge in this area and I am opinion to different points of view.
DeleteSincere question; what would you have "cowardly Americans" do to prevent the looting of our future? Currently I vote, write my representatives, volunteer at polling stations, and pray. Help an infrequent commenter out. Seriously, what would you have people do?
DeleteOn the basis of my 20 years living in Europe:
DeleteRussia still meddles heavily in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. It's a pride thing--they want to be thought of as an important empire.
Western Europe is still what it has always been: intellectuals who think their bad ideas are always right and look down their noses at the upstart Americans and think of Eastern Europeans as lesser beings.
America has kept the "peace" since WW2 and Western Europe likes it that way while they complain and denigrate us. Eastern Europe appreciates us but is not sure if we are trustworthy. Russia sees us as getting in their way and hampering their goal to dominate Eastern Europe.

Delete#1--Climate change and Arizona. It's already a desert. Not one of these predictions has come true. I have been hearing them since I was 9 years old.
ReplyDeleteActually, only the bottom one third of AZ is classic hot desert, but thats where the majority lives .. its the mild winters that attracts folks. The rest of AZ is highland with elevations over 4000 feet. Most of this is also dry scrubland, but 10% of AZ is piney forest
DeletePhoenix is constantly proving that "Climate Change is real" Two years ago Phoenix had an August heat wave that had this native totally agog. You may have heard about it. This year, Phoenix had one of the mildest July's and August in memory, but Im sure nobody has heard about this, just as nobody has heard about the missing hurricane season
Yeah, the climate fear mongers are good at hyping that which fits their narrative. Really poor at highlighting that which totally destroys it.

ReplyDelete#5 re Small sliver of hope for UK. It is very small. Political correctness has screwed it up almost beyond repair. I am willing to give Liz Truss a chance in a limited time period. If she lets fracking go ahead again, that will be a win. She is no Maggie Thatcher even though she tries to dress like her.

The military used to be a way out of poverty for some, a way to a college degree for some but since degrees are so worthless that one racks up $100k debt at a state school they cannot repay, why even have the military paying that ***t?
