We're winning

We could see Wyoming Republicans dumping Liz like a soiled diaper a year ago. But when it finally happened last night, the glee was surprisingly large. It really made us happy.

Part of it was her concession speech.

She said, "Abraham Lincoln was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all. Lincoln ultimately prevailed, he saved our union and he defined our obligation as Americans for all of history."

Lincoln? Lincoln! What the hell has she been drinking?

He died to set men free.

She lost a primary because she voted against her party. She represents Jackson Hole money men, not Wyomingites. The people of Wyoming are entitled to one representative in DC, not just the Jackson Holians.

Cheney and the media portray her as a martyr sacrificing a $175,000-a-year job for a multi-million-dollar lobbying job with a million-dollar book deal. I suggest she title it Orange Man Bad.

She is just the latest in the string of phonies who revealed their conservatism is just a façade. McCain was the first.

Jeff Greenfield reminded us today, "John McCain in 2008 made a point not just of congratulating Barack Obama but celebrating the victory."

He trashed his running mate because she was a conservative while praising the communist who beat him. In boxing, it is called taking a dive. In politics, it is Romneying only because I don't want to coin a word that preserves McCain's memory.

This is a happy day for Trump supporters and not just because Liz lost.

The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago exposed a criminality and united the country -- against the FBI.

Politico/Morning Consult ran a push poll in favor of the raid and still found 47% said the raid was an abuse of power. Only 40% said it was legitimate.

The raid gave Trump a boost in the polls and helped him set a record in fund-raising, according to his son.

Politicians now openly support dumping the FBI.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts was asked about defunding the FBI.

He said, "We could do that. Well if we get control of Congress we can control the house, so you know."

Defunding would be the first step because Biden or Kamala would veto any bill that eliminates it. President Trump would sign it in a New York Minute. (I suppose it would be a Florida Minute now.)

Conrad Black wrote, "I am generally supportive of him despite his infelicities, because I believe the United States was terribly misgoverned in the Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama years and in policy terms Trump was a very effective and successful president and will probably be so again. He was also a very congenial business associate and cordial acquaintance and we have long shared, from experience, a dislike of the ability of American prosecutors to abuse the plea-bargain system, to extort and suborn false inculpatory evidence with impunity and grant immunity from perjury charges to 'cooperating witnesses,' as they confirm Lord Acton’s famous aphorism that 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.'"

The Bush DOJ sent Conrad Black to prison over a bad business deal.

Trump pardoned him.

The Daily Wire today reported on another abuse of power in the Fake Kidnapping of Governor Whitmer, in which the FBI entrapped four Whitmer protesters. The trial jury exonerated the four dummies.

The report said, "Like the first trial, a key part of Fox and Croft’s legal defense is the behavior of the FBI’s confidential human sources. In testimony on Friday, defense attorneys focused on the relationships that two informants, Jenny Plunk and Steve Robeson, had with the defendants. Both informants smoked marijuana, a federal crime, with Croft. At one point, Plunk also shared a hotel room with the defendant."

As I said, jurors stopped the FBI.  That was a win.

The FBI raid was a win.

Liz's loss was a win.

Black ended his column, "I was one of those who wrote (in the Sherbrooke Record), during the Watergate affair 50 years ago that criminalizing such nonsense to tear down a president, more than a century after the only previous presidential impeachment, (Andrew Johnson), would leave the American political parties resistless against the temptation to criminalize policy differences. This was what happened in the spurious impeachments of Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. This latest desperate lunge to try to prevent Trump from returning to the White House, if it is not discontinued now, will be such a disaster, it will disgrace the Democrats for 20 years. Whatever anyone thinks of Trump, compared to his enemies, he is a candidate for Mount Rushmore, (if those enemies do not, as some have threatened to do, blow up that monument because it bears the likenesses of four white presidents)."

We are happy that Liz lost.

We are happier that the FBI is committing bureaucide.

Now to get the EPA, CDC and a dozen other alphabet agencies to do the same.

    6. Yeah. I wonder which party she had in mind. She, and many others, simply don't realize that, politically speaking, they're not in Kansas any more. Or Wyoming, either, in her case.

    7. If Pence ever had a chance at all, he just flushed it today by opposing the defunding of the FBI.

    8. Pence flushed his tiny chance down the sewer on Jan 6 when he ignored the conflicting elector's from AZ GA and PA, and certified the steal for biden. As VP he had constitutional auth to toss it back to those states, until they could figure out WHO won, and agree. But as a establishment weeny, with no guts he caved. Hes an afterthought just like "JEB"

  3. "Election denier" is the new commie phrase.

"No American should support election deniers," Rep. Liz Cheney says in her concession speech after losing her Republican primary in Wyoming to Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman.

    Mollie @MZHemingway
It's one thing for Pelosi and other Dem activists to use the *patently absurd* phrase "election denier" against people with legit concerns about recent election administration issues. No serious person should ever utter the phrase for Americans who want free and fair elections.

    Margot Cleveland @ProfMJCleveland
Democrats & Media Cartel use buzzwords to instantly construct & destroy strawmen. "Election denier" is but the latest example and they are doing that now to groom Americans to accept the destruction of any semblance of election integrity. More next week on this!

  4. Defeating 8 of 10 R House reps who voted to impeach is a strong result. Twenty percent of the R party still aligned with BushMcCainRomney is still too large.

Hoping that somehow Kelly Tshibaka pulls it out in Nov and retires Murky.

    2. Oh, I’m sure ole Mush-Mouth Mitch already has a plan to pull another “Mississippi McDaniel Operation” in Alaska to benefit Murkowski in November. It will be interesting to see the how much money Tshibaka can raise between now and then. She’s gonna need a lot of help from us MAGA folks across the country to wrest that senate seat from Mush Mouth and his donors.

    6. The way to reign in McDonnell is to attack Ryan and his acolytes in their business board relationships. The GOP executive just starts sending every agency into the businesses they work with - including Murdoch's - and keep auditing and charging them with all sorts of issues. You can bankrupt Ryan in a few years by making any association with him extremely unprofitable.

It's not that hard - Obama was quite effective at it. Then use the govt's HR arm to absolutely harass Mitch's friends in govt employ. They all live outside the rules - make life very difficult for them everyday. You drive Mitch's behavior by hurting those around him - and let them start begging him for help. He then comes to you. Either Trump or DeSantis would need to replace the entire HR leadership of course. But that would be simple.

    2. You might want to check your sources. In the 1850's the federal government was funded through tariffs on imports. The industrial equipment brought from Europe and delivered to the northern states where the industrial revolution was in progress.
The south's cotton was a good back haul cargo, three masted ships don't sail well sitting high in the water.
That is also why Fort Sumpter was created on an island of New England granite. Ships arrive in the north full of machinery. Then sail south into the hurricane seas filled with rock ballast, then load with cotton and head for Europe.
Why did the south hate the tariffs? It meant fewer ships hauling cotton to the mills of Europe.

And JJ, you can thank LBJ and the dems for destroying the black family.

  11. I was a fan of Dick Cheney for many years. I was flabbergasted when I saw his campaign video for his daughter. These people have destroyed themselves through their hatred and perverse obsession with Donald Trump.

I am concerned that they will harness the economic resources of paleo-republicans in their circle to support a third party candidacy for Liz Cheney in a spoiling effort to split the republican vote and prevent Trump from winning a second presidency. If they do this, they will have perpetrated an injustice against our great country and great people.

I enjoy your commentary and insights. Keep up the good work.

    2. Exactly. How many people forget that clinton changed the commerce laws to allow china to then purchase missile technology from LORAL Space corporation, because their rockets kept blowing up on launch pad. LORAL helped them correct their problems and now they fly fine. They gave him millions for campaign cash, and as usual NOTHING was done about that. Now they are a clear threat to us and our kids...Yet nebraska congressman Jeff Fortenberry slid in a $30000 campaign donation illegally, and was tossed from congress! Only repubs are ever held to the law. Not to mention hillary taking $140 mil from the russians, while giving them 10% of OUR uranium!!

  19. Liz Cheney is no Abraham Lincoln more like John Wilkes Boothe, only more delusional. Even Boothe would never compare himself to Lincoln. Even Boothe knew that Republican voters would not applaud his act of taking down a great Republican president! The great irony is that the best-case scenario for Cheney at this point is that IF she is remembered at all, it will only be as a minor parasitic derivative of the story of Donald Trump.

She stated Trump should never be allowed near the Oval Office. This person is so dangerously delusional, she should never be allowed near Donald Trump.

  20. Lincoln did not die to set people free, just stop wiuth the big lie. "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that"

    1. It's much more complicated than that quote you are using. The North was using it's political majority to slowly phase out slavery in the U.S. and the South knew it. There had already been many political fights over this.
Lincoln was for every measure enacted prior to the war that was adverse to slavery. The South started the war by firing on Ft. Sumter after they determined that Lincoln would not give in on the slavery issue. After the Emancipation Proclamation, enlistments went up for the Union Army, so ending slavery was very broadly supported by the North and especially so for Republicans. There are hundreds of quotes from southern leaders stating plainly that the war was about preserving the institution of slavery.

For the South who started the war, it was about slavery. For the North, it was initially about preserving the union. Once Lincoln emancipated the slaves, the North fought harder than ever to achieve victory.
