Media aghast at fake vandalism; ignores real vandalism

A week before the election of President Donald John Trump in 2016, someone vandalized and torched Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, a black church in Greenville, Mississippi. Vote Trump, the graffiti said.

Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons told reporters, "The black church has always been a symbol of the black community…I see this as an attack on the black church, the black community."

Media hysteria abounded.

The New Yorker labeled its piece on the story, "Hate on the Rise After Trump's Election."

It began, "Since Donald Trump won the Presidential election, there has been a dramatic uptick in incidents of racist and xenophobic harassment across the country. The Southern Poverty Law Center has reported that there were 437 incidents of intimidation between the election, on November 8th, and November 14th, targeting blacks and other people of color, Muslims, immigrants, the L.G.B.T. community, and women. One woman in Colorado told the S.P.L.C. that her twelve-year-old daughter was approached by a boy who said, 'Now that Trump is President, I’m going to shoot you and all the blacks I can find.' At a school in Washington State, students chanted 'build a wall' in a cafeteria. In Texas, someone saw graffiti at work: 'no more illegals 1-20-17,' a reference to Inauguration Day."

Build a wall?

I believe the chant at this unnamed school should have been Build the Wall.

The centerpiece of the story was a video, "A Hate Crime at Hopewell."

The transcript said:

A lot us are just devastated.

When we first saw it, it was a shock.

You didn't feel the emotional shock

because you were,

you were astonished and amazed.

But living in times like this in the year 2016,

you're not, we're not expecting

this type of an attack

on the church.

All I know is,

evil.

[Male] How you doing, man?

Alright, alright.

How are you?

[Male] I'm living.

Good.

I've had surgery, so I move slow.

(sings to self)

Everything destroyed.

Everything.

(ominous music)

In fact, we were informed

that we will have to tear it down and start all over.

What you see,

here, was an attempt to show hatred

and to cause a division among the people of God.

I'm talking about racial, black, tensions, and all this.

But we thank God

that the church is still standing.

Because the church is not in the building.

It's in our hearts.

The hate crime was a Jussie Smollett.

NPR reported on December 22, 2016, "Nearly two months after a black church in Greenville, Miss., was torched and painted with pro-Trump graffiti, a member of the church has been arrested and charged with the crime."

The New Yorker never corrected or updated its story to reflect that it was an inside job.

Ditto the Washington Post, New York Times, AP and the rest of them.

Another much trumpeted hate crime was at St. David's Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom, Indiana. Its pastor blamed homophobic Trump supporters.

But WTHR reported later the real culprit was the church's gay organist.

Again, I could find no corrections, updates or apologies.

I'll spare readers the Tawana Brawley-style complaints of hajib tugging by Muslim teens looking for an excuse for missing curfew and the like.

Instead, let's speed ahead nearly 6 years later to the here and now.

Last month, police arrested a Democrat at Justice Brett Kavanaugh's home in the wee hours of the morning. The Democrat wanted to assassinate the justice so Biden and a Democrat Senate could replace him.

And on Friday, Debra Heine reported, "In the latest attack on a pro-life organization, pro-abortion extremists spray-painted threatening messages and anarchist symbols outside a pro-life pregnancy center in Massachusetts late Wednesday or early Thursday, according to police.  Since last May, when a draft ruling was leaked indicating that the U.S. Supreme Court was going to overturn Roe v. Wade,  there have been about 94 attacks on pro-life facilities and churches.

"Bethlehem House Inc. Pregnancy Care Center in Easthampton, 99 miles west of Boston, was targeted by pro-abort vandals, who splattered red paint across the white exterior of the facility. One message sprayed painted in black on the ground outside the center read: 'If abortions aren’t safe, neither are you!'"

Democrats are cool with vandalizing churches and pregnancy centers.

Elizabeth Warren told a rally, "In Massachusetts right now, those crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by 3 to 1. We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts and we need to shut them down all around the country."

Democrat thugs are doing just that.

The media and the Southern Poverty Law Center ignore this. Silence is consent.

    1. Our country is so racist that they have to create hate crimes to use against part of the population. But amazingly the DemoRats never seem to be charged in the crimes they comment, nor the perjury nor ever apologize for being wrong.

You are right EN, they are Evil.

  3. The Greenville arsonist plead guilty. Errick Simmons is a good man. I have met him and been at many meetings with him. I wonder what parts of his comments were left out. And a white church opened their doors for the black church members to come and worship while they rebuilt their church.

    1. I am tired of racist Dems projecting all violence to Republicans. They haven't changed one bit since the days of the DemocratiK Business man's KKlub

  4. The SPLC is the most prominent hate group in this country. They are vile, their leadership is vile and their biases are vile. They are a wing of the democrat party, as is the media. No coincidence they all ignore the true hate crimes against conservatives and Christians.

    1. I was trying to recall that quote, then you posted it here. It's a perfect description of the situation. Is there a section in the FBI where crimes are dreamed up, then useful idiots assigned to carry them out? I think, yes, there's ample evidence that there is.

  6. Yes Blacks created hoaxes and help steal elections and are responsible for most of the crime and trouble in the US

  7. I grew up near Easthampton, Massachusetts. About ten minutes away by car, or twenty by bicycle, is Northampton which contains the "Seven Sisters". Those are seven well-established women only liberal arts colleges. If you, dear reader, are thinking they might be bastions of leftist feminism... woo boy, you don't know the half of it! Now, I'm not saying doctrine-addled Feminazis were behind the latest outrage; but the sun rising in the east tomorrow wouldn't surprise me either.

I'm so very happy I fled that insane (but beautiful) state when I was a much younger man. Can't take credit for prescience, but living in a tiny town here in the deep south seems like a much better plan for the incipient domestic tumult.

The hour is late, but if you're living in a major urban area, I hope you consider leaving before you're forced to flee as refugees. These lefties are only going to get bolder because the Administration isn't only not smacking them down but is actively encouraging them for political reasons. This November is going to be bad for political violence, but 2024 will be horrible.

  8. I realize there are decent people in the Democrat party, but the leaders at the top are truly speaking and acting like thugs and bullies.

    1. Decent people in the Democrat party? Surely you jest. By now anyone who remains in that evil party either wants to stay for is in a coma.
