Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida suspended Hillsborough County (Tampa) State Attorney Andrew Warren, an elected prosecutor, for not doing his job. Florida allows governors to do this.
Warren is a Soros-backed weirdo who refuses to enforce bans on sex changes for kids under 18. He also refuses to prosecute abortions after the 15-week limit. The Supreme Court upheld Mississippi's ban on abortion after 15 weeks.
Apparently defending the Constitution is just not Warren's thing.
He would rather bust pastors for holding church services.
On November 10, 2020, the Tampa Bay Times reported, "in April 2020, a couple of weeks into nationwide coronavirus shutdowns. Warren, a Democrat, had appeared days earlier at a news conference beside the Republican sheriff to announce the arrest of a megachurch pastor who held in-person services amid the pandemic. Now, Florida’s Republican governor had signed an order saying such services were A-OK.
"Before a virtual wall of reporters, Warren used the words weak and spineless to decry the governor’s actions. He said much of the same the next day, this time in a CNN appearance."
Warren and the sheriff had no legal authority to arrest the man.
The story went on to say, "The charges against the pastor were later dropped. But it was one in a number of news events Warren has used to put himself in the public gaze.
"He did it again in June, announcing he would not prosecute 67 people arrested in a protest."
It was a George Floyd protest.
Warren said, "Prosecuting people for exercising their First Amendment rights doesn’t solve problems. It creates them by weakening the bonds that exist between law enforcement and our community and undermining people’s faith in our system."
Do tell.
The story fawned over the man who bases prosecution on politics and not the law because the Tampa Bay Times agrees with Warren's politics.
DeSantis does not.
In suspending Warren, DeSantis said, "Our government is a government of laws, not a government of men."
The governor also said, "The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in individual state attorneys, so, when you flagrantly violate your oath of office ... when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty and you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties."
So how did Tampa wind up with a weirdo prosecutor?
George Soros.
Buried in the Tampa Bay Times puff piece in 2020 was Warren's answer to the question of whether Soros helped elect him. Warren said, "We think so. We understand that he gave money to the state (Democratic) party. And the state party money ... went to support different candidates. And I have very little insight into the amount of money he gave, who it went to, etc."
We think so.
What do you mean we, paleface?
DeSantis spared voters the expense and bother of a recall election.
DeSantis is most impressive. He doesn't cower in fear; he brings his weapons to the fight and uses them efficiently.
ReplyDeleteLike Ronald Reagan and PATCO, 1981
DeleteSo true shipmate! Was active duty at Guided Missile school VA BEACH at that time and the entire class cheered when news came out Reagan fired the A/C who refused to do the job they were hired for and accepted the conditions of employment! A true leader we are so short of today!!
DeleteI was in the middle of that PATCO Mess when I was working for a defense contractor/air taxi outfit.
DeleteNo years were she'd when Ronnie dropped the hammer.
Another example of a leader with true backbone. Knows hes going to get roasted but does the right thing anyway. Better hope someone like him replaces any dem socialist in 24 if 4 swing states can get over hacked electronic voting machines, forged ballots or accepting votes 9 days AFTER election day voter fraud!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine has a perfect characterization of politicians, like DeSantis. He calls them "past-tense," because they announce what they've already done. Squishy Republicans, like Gowdy, etc., announce what they're going to do, but never get around to actually doing it. Those RINO dopes are "future-tense," deep state operatives. People are finally catching on.
DeleteSquishy rino’s specialize in Dog&Pony Shows, but nothing EVER gets done.
DeleteHey Engineman 2nd, what boat? I'm DBF...
DeleteNot finished yet Guv ... have to make an example of this creep...
ReplyDeleteOfficial Misconduct under Florida Statute 838.022
The criminal offense of official misconduct under Florida Statute Section 838.022 is a felony offense. The crime is considered a felonious breach of the public trust with can lead to the forfeiture of retirement and pension benefits as a “specified offense” under Florida Statute Section 112.3173.
This is how you fight back.
ReplyDeleteTrump/DeSantis looking more likely all the time.
No not Trump DeSantis. Make DeSantis sec of state much more important and powerful than VP. Makes a great prep for 2028 POTUS
DeleteThere will be no Trump-DeSantis ticket because, Constitution 12A.
ReplyDeleteCan't have the pres and vp both from the same state as the electors. So endless you want to pull off an electoral college win without any of Florida's electoral votes one must not be a Florida citizen. Both are conspicuously Floridian.
Randy says: Close, but not quite. Florida’s electors cannot vote for both a President and Vice President from their state. So they’d vote for Trump for President and Mac the Plumber for Vice President. DeSantis would still get the majority of electoral votes, even without Florida’s.
DeleteThat's correct. Only Florida's electors would be affected, and then only if a Trump/DeSantis ticket carried the state. So while it might be constitutionally permitted, the optics of two candidates from the same state probably wouldn't pass muster with the overall electorate
DeleteTrump can become a NJ resident and live at his golf course there.
DeleteAnonymous2, you really think it's possible that a Trump/DeSantis ticket could lose in Florida?
DeleteRandy says: Update: DeSantis sent the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to escort Warren from the premises and make sure he did not remove any “files, papers, documents, notes, records, computers, or removable storage media.” Don’t let the door hit ya…
ReplyDeleteWe could maybe do DeSantis-Trump. What state does Ivanka live in?
ReplyDeleteIvanka may have been one of the worst people who had the President's ear. Her husband was The worst.
DeleteLet us not forget the Antifa guy who had pipe bombs at a Jan 6 rally in Pinellas, FL. He was let go because they were just smoke bombs but he had all the black bloc gear and even a smoke bomb, if he had set if off, would have caused terror.

By far he is the most impressive and effective governor in America. Florida got lucky. He almost lost to the leftist drug addict.
ReplyDeleteThere was no way ol' "Hide the sausage in a crack addict" should have been that close to DeSantis in that election. I think that election pointed out tell tale signs of fraud in certain counties and hopefully have been addressed. I have mixed feelings of Gov De going national. I'm selfish to want him to stay in Florida, but Damn, I would love to see what he could do!!!! It Hertz!
DeleteThe key phrase in this story is "Florida allows governors to do this." If anyone thinks DeSantis could act like this in the White House they will be disappointed.
