DeSantis suspends a Soros prosecutor

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida suspended Hillsborough County (Tampa) State Attorney Andrew Warren, an elected prosecutor, for not doing his job. Florida allows governors to do this.

Warren is a Soros-backed weirdo who refuses to enforce bans on sex changes for kids under 18. He also refuses to prosecute abortions after the 15-week limit. The Supreme Court upheld Mississippi's ban on abortion after 15 weeks.

Apparently defending the Constitution is just not Warren's thing.

He would rather bust pastors for holding church services.

On November 10, 2020, the Tampa Bay Times reported, "in April 2020, a couple of weeks into nationwide coronavirus shutdowns. Warren, a Democrat, had appeared days earlier at a news conference beside the Republican sheriff to announce the arrest of a megachurch pastor who held in-person services amid the pandemic. Now, Florida’s Republican governor had signed an order saying such services were A-OK.

"Before a virtual wall of reporters, Warren used the words weak and spineless to decry the governor’s actions. He said much of the same the next day, this time in a CNN appearance."

Warren and the sheriff had no legal authority to arrest the man. 

The story went on to say, "The charges against the pastor were later dropped. But it was one in a number of news events Warren has used to put himself in the public gaze.

"He did it again in June, announcing he would not prosecute 67 people arrested in a protest."

It was a George Floyd protest. 

Warren said, "Prosecuting people for exercising their First Amendment rights doesn’t solve problems. It creates them by weakening the bonds that exist between law enforcement and our community and undermining people’s faith in our system."

Do tell.

The story fawned over the man who bases prosecution on politics and not the law because the Tampa Bay Times agrees with Warren's politics.

DeSantis does not.

In suspending Warren, DeSantis said, "Our government is a government of laws, not a government of men."

The governor also said, "The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in individual state attorneys, so, when you flagrantly violate your oath of office ... when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty and you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties."

So how did Tampa wind up with a weirdo prosecutor?

George Soros.

Buried in the Tampa Bay Times puff piece in 2020 was Warren's answer to the question of whether Soros helped elect him. Warren said, "We think so. We understand that he gave money to the state (Democratic) party. And the state party money ... went to support different candidates. And I have very little insight into the amount of money he gave, who it went to, etc."

We think so.

DeSantis spared voters the expense and bother of a recall election.
