Why the press is the enemy of the people

1. In 2015, the media thought it could ease Hillary into the presidency by promoting Donald John Trump as the Republican candidate. Within a month of his June 16, 2015, announcement, he led the polls. He never looked back. This pleased the media because the reporters and media moguls thought this greased the skids for Hillary.

2. In the fall of 2016, it finally dawned on the press that maybe The Donald had a chance. It promoted a tape of a private conversation in which he boasted that if you are handsome and rich, women in Hollywood let you get away with things. Harvey Weinstein later proved looks don't matter.

The media acted shocked that a man would use the P-word in a private conversation. Liberal women were so upset by the P-word that they began knitting and wearing what they loudly proclaimed were pussyhats. The media promoted that too.

3. The media never said much about Hillary accepting millions of dollars from foreign governments in donations to her fake charity when she was secretary of state..

4. The media promoted a resistance -- a bureaucratic coup designed to hobble Trump's nascent presidency.

5. On Inauguration Day, the New York Times greeted the new president with a story about how the intelligence community worried about Trump's staff based on transcripts from what NYT called wiretaps.

6. Six weeks later, when Trump said Obama wiretapped him, the media dismissed it by saying the claim was without evidence. When the evidence arrived, the media was too busy promoting the Mueller investigation (which CNN helped set up) to bother with a scandal that actually was worse than Watergate.

The evil of the media goes beyond Donald Trump. Way beyond.

7. In August 2016, NYT made the case for abandoning objectivity and telling both sides of the story. The truth no longer mattered. Only the narrative mattered. DNC emails leaked to WikiLeaks showed reporters for NYT and the Washington Post had their stories approved by Hillary's head henchman, John Podesta. I am sure their editors knew and likely wanted things that way.

8. In the past 2 years, the media has promoted covid as a pandemic that puts everyone at risk. (Shades of AIDS.) But it is a virus that has a 99% survival rate. The media pushed vaccines that were little more than flu shots. Those of us on Social Security should get them but 2-year-olds should not.

They pushed the wearing of masks, which helped reduce the spread of flu but did not stop covid.

The absurdity of arresting a lone surfer on a beach was seen as normal.

9. The media called riots mostly peaceful protests. They called an actual peaceful (if noisy) protest inside the Capital an insurrection.

10. The media demonizes rifles which account for fewer homicides each year than people killed by beatings and strangulations.

11. The media has begun promoting monkeypox -- a venereal disease among male homosexuals -- as a disease that requires vaccinations.

12. The media accepts the Democrat Orwellian vocabulary. We live in a world now where men get pregnant. No sane person believes this, not even the oddballs in drag believe it.

13. The media openly seeks censorship of people, of ideas and even words. Facebook and Twitter banned the word groomer because it hurts the feelings of those who prey on children.

14. We are in a recession but the media is doing everything it can to not admit it.

I know that many readers long for the days of the afternoon newspaper. Those papers were trustworthy. They may have gotten facts wrong and occasionally, they fell victim of a hoax, but the mistakes were honest and had no real agenda.

The afternoon newspaper is gone. The nightly news no longer is presented by a fellow who cut his teeth in the newsroom of UPI in Kansas City.

The media no longer informs. It lies.

It promotes wars which it then opposes as soon as we get the upper hand.

Its heroes are Tony Fauci and Andy Cuomo, men who killed thousands and wrecked the economy. Its villains are Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, men who stood up for America.

We do not have a free media. We have one controlled by the state. You see, Washington is a Democrat town. 95% of its presidential votes went to Hillary. A reporter is only as good as his sources. In DC, all the sources (well, 95%) are Democrats. The gulf between government and the governed has not been this wide in 246 years.

We know which side the media is on.

  5. Sorry Don - masks do nothing to prevent the spread of flu either. The CDC even used to highlight studies showing they do nothing when worn by the general public. Flu, unlike covid, is transmitted from surfaces. It's my best guess why flu rates fell during covid. If you cannot be around people you limit all the touching of infected people and things where it spreads. Flu isn't nearly as contagious via aerosol as covid is.

Masks do not stop viral infectious diseases. They are magic amulets, worn by its acolytes without regard to the fact they don't work - even the famed N95 does very little to help.

    3. Health care providers call everything covid for the same reason Willie Sutton robbed banks. Because that's where the money is.

    4. It's an article of faith among health care professionals that masking is essential to stopping the spread of disease. When I made the observation to my lovely bride (a SICU RN) that not only are they useless to stopping the spread of COVID/flu/anything else ... but that even in the OR, masks are ineffective. This normally level-headed pro flipped out... telling me I was nuts and that of course masking is important in a medical setting... I stopped arguing at that point (I'm not stupid) ... but, just for my own peace of mind, I did find 14 peer reviewed studies that show unmasked surgery has no effect on the rate of post-operative infections... In fact there's a slight improvement.

    5. The flu didn't go anywhere, it just got lumped in with covid. When asked where the flu went, our betters told us that thanks to masking and social distancing, it would be a mild year for the flu. When asked why covid was still around, these same people said it was because people weren't masking and social distancing. It makes them hard to take seriously.

  6. I do miss the evening newspaper. We had a good one here in North Jersey and it was the paper of record for the state, the Newark Evening News, a paper with a conservative bent. But it fell due to the popularity of the TV news and closed in 1972.

Brinkley made excuses for Dick Tuck a Democrat version of Gordon Liddy, calling him a "prankster" - his "pranks" including cutting the phone lines of the Rockefeller people at the '64 convention and trying to blame it on Goldwater. Huntley was an actor.

We eventually got a second station in the area and started watching Frank Reynolds and Howard K. Smith. Never watched Cronkite, and now I'm glad I didn't.

    2. The cheating two years ago caught the Republicans (and I dare say many Americans) off guard. I doubt if they will make that mistake again. A key is the state and local races. Should Republicans win executive races and control of legislatures, we will then start to see reforms.

  18. Thank you, Don, for putting this in such clear perspective. And thanks to Donald Trump for hammering the "fake news" at every opportunity for years.

I don't believe the "fake news" would exist without the "actual malice" standard of New York Times v. Sullivan protecting its continual defamations against public figures. Only Justice Thomas was recently in favor of revisiting that destructive standard, so nothing will change anytime soon.

Now, instead of listening to bobble heads, I get news and information from people who have genuine knowledge and intelligence from everywhere. Also, I miss IMUS. At least IMUS was MAN ENOUGH to genuinely apologize for his inappropriate and mean commentary. Knowledge and intelligence.
