Highlights of the News

ITEM 1: Ted Frank is a lawyer who sues Class Action Suit lawyers to reduce their cut of the action. He also came up with an entertaining theory of how the Cancel Culture canceled Roe v. Wade.

Ted Frank tweeted, "In 2015, Donald Trump started what was intended as a gimmick of a presidential campaign. Trump had previously floated similar half-serious campaigns in earlier elections, including 1988 and dropping out after winning 2/2 primaries for the Reform Party nomination in 2000.

"2015 was intended the same way. Trump likes publicity. He’d give some speeches, get some attention, and raise the ratings for his flagging tired TV game show that was his current main source of income. Same cast as 1999-2000, including Roger Stone.

"But in his opening speech, Trump took an anti-immigration position. And 2015 was a different atmosphere. It wasn’t enough to criticize someone’s politics, one had to call them a racist, even if all they did was take a position held by a majority of Americans.

"And even in the nascent days of cancel culture, that was enough: people demanded NBC fire Trump, and they did just that. Trump’s presidential campaign had inadvertently backfired and burned the bridges behind him. Trump could no longer quit; he could only move forward.

"And he did just that. CNN and MSNBC found stoking outrage against Trump was good for ratings, so they treated him as the serious front runner with billions of $ of free publicity, snickering to themselves how they were undermining the GOP by saddling them with an incompetent.

"So the dominos fall as such: cancel mob gets Trump fired from NBC, thwarting his plan to use presidential campaign to raise his ratings, and forcing him to go all out. Trump wins, likes plaudits for good judicial selections, makes them. Those justices reverse Roe."

Simplistic. I believe Trump wanted to stop Hillary and become president.

But be careful of what you wish. I offer as proof Biden.

ITEM 2: The Wall Street Journal reported, "The U.S. convened a secret meeting of top military officials from Israel and Arab countries in March to explore how they could coordinate against Iran’s growing missile and drone capabilities, according to officials from the U.S. and the region.

"The previously undisclosed talks, which were held at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, marked the first time that such a range of ranking Israeli and Arab officers have met under U.S. military auspices to discuss how to defend against a common threat."

I doubt anyone trusts the Biden administration. And it really isn't news that Israel and the Arabs are standing together against Iran.

The best thing Biden could do is to stop making nice with Iran. Be Trump, not Obama.

ITEM 3: Fox said, "Pope Francis celebrated families Saturday and urged them to shun selfish decisions that are indifferent to life as he closed out a big Vatican rally a day after the U.S. Supreme Court ended constitutional protections for abortion.

"Francis didn’t refer to the ruling or explicitly mention abortion in his homily. But he used the buzzwords he has throughout his papacy about the need to defend families and to condemn a 'culture of waste' that he believes is behind the societal acceptance of abortion."

Buzzwords?

Is that like a dog whistle?

If the pope wanted to mention Roe, he would have. He didn't. The world does not revolve around the USA.

ITEM 4: The Washington Post reported, "Conservatives on the march: GOP gains ground despite Democratic control. The landmark conservative Supreme Court victories this week on abortion and guns capped a year-long string of victories on the right."

Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, told the Post, "The one issue that we also have to be really clear about is frankly any conversation on issues of sex in schools; it has to be age appropriate. Sensitive topics like race and gender always have to be taught in an age-appropriate way."

LOL.

That's exactly what Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act does.

Weingarten dismissed it as a don't-say-gay law and opposed it.

ITEM 5: AP reported, "Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic Elvis shook up theaters with an estimated $30.5 million in weekend ticket sales, but — in a box-office rarity — Elvis tied Top Gun: Maverick, which also reported $30.5 million, for No. 1 in theaters."

The story also said, "The Top Gun sequel reached $1 billion in worldwide box office in its fifth week of release."

Paragraph 13 said, "Most studios came away celebrating, though Disney’s Lightyear dropped a steep 65% in its second weekend. After opening softly last week, the Toy Story spinoff grossed $17.7 million domestically, falling to fifth place. Lightyear, which has made $152 million worldwide to date, will soon face more competition for families with the Friday release of Minions: The Rise of Gru."

LGBT took Lightyear to infinitesimal and below.

ITEM 6: Hollywood in Toto reported, "Unwoke Beavis and Butt-head’s Universe Shreds White Privilege. '90s relics roar back by mocking Antifa and soft on crime policies."

It is a movie review.

Toto wrote, "The boys also stumble into a Gender Studies class where they learn all about White Privilege.

"We can do anything we want because we’re white? Cool."

Savage.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

The self-esteem movement was the worst idea in education since New Math.

The self-esteemed cannot handle any setback at all.

ITEM 7: The Daily Mail reported, "Christian pregnancy clinic in Colorado is torched and graffitied with the words 'if abortions aren't safe, neither are you' after pro-abortion extremists warned of 'night of rage' following Roe v. Wade decision."

My guess is no one will be prosecuted because Colorado is the state that makes Christians deny their beliefs and create wedding cakes for gays.

ITEM 8: Fox reported, "Ghislaine Maxwell, ex-lover of Jeffrey Epstein, placed on suicide watch ahead of sentencing."

And the guards will watch the suicide just as they did with Epstein because it is really Arkancide and you never mess with the Arkansas Mafia.

ITEM 9: Just the News reported, "The House Ethics Committee on Friday referred Guam Democrat Del. Michael San Nicolas to the Department of Justice after concluding that substantial evidence shows the delegate committed campaign finance crimes.

"The Investigative Subcommittee unanimously found that San Nicolas, 41, a non-voting House member, accepted improper excessive campaign contributions, according to a press release."

Yes, accept only proper bribes, um, campaign contributions.

ITEM 10: Reduxx reported, "Netizens are expressing outrage after an adult man beat out a 13-year-old girl for first place in a women’s skateboarding competition held today in New York.

"Ricci Tres, also known as Ricci And Tres, took top spot in the women’s division of The Boardr Open held in New York City, taking home a $500 prize for a first place win.

"Tres, a 29-year-old trans-identified male, came in first place against 13-year-old Shiloh Catori. Of the 6 competitors, 4 were under the age of 17, with the youngest being 10-year-old Juri Iikura."

This person is not a woman.

He ain't a man either by bullying 10-year-old girls.

Prosecute for fraud?

ITEM 11: CNBC reported, "G-7 nations to announce import ban on Russian gold as Moscow sanctions widen."

The only thing widening is the rubles lead over the euro. Since the sanctions went on, the Russian ruble more than doubled in value against the euro.

Who will buy the gold?

Egypt Today reported last month, "Egypt became the largest buyer of gold among the central banks in the world during the first quarter of 2022, amid economic instability due to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis."

The G-7 is old news. Thanks to the West buying everything from Red China, the new world order is BRICS -- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They make up 41% of the world population.

ITEM 12: The Hill reported, "G7 leaders joke about stripping to outdo bare-chested Putin."

War and recession are a big joke, aren't they?

The reader said who sent me this said, "Just as Ozzy said back in 1970: Treating people like pawns in chess."

I've listened to preachers. I've listened to fools. I've listened to Black Sabbath. Ozzy still rules.

SCOTT ADAMS SAYS:

ITEM 13: Western Journal reported, "Demonstrations over the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade turned violent in downtown Los Angeles late Friday night.

"A protestor allegedly attacked a police officer with a makeshift flamethrower. KTLA-TV reported that Michael Ortiz, 30, was taken into custody where he is expected to be charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.

"Bail was set at $1 million, according to the report.

"The officer was brought to the hospital to be treated for his burns. There is no word on his condition."

Never bring a flamethrower to a fight.

Never.

ITEM 14: Pelosi shoved one of Republican Congresswoman Mayra Flores's daughters aside at the swearing in of Flores.

It was the worst treatment of a kid at a swearing-in of a member of Congress since Biden sniffed the hair of the daughter of Chris Coons.

Pelosi is the world's oldest spoiled brat. Her behavior at Trump's last two State of the Union addresses deserves expulsion from Congress when Republicans take back the House. She is a real life Veruca Salt.

ITEM 15: Salena Zito reported, "Why Mexican-born Rep. Mayra Flores is the future of the Republican party."

Flores, born in Mexico City, told Zito, "People want you to understand the things that are really impacting their lives, like inflation, education policies, the border crisis, which is literally in our backyard, escalating crime and the drug crisis.

"We need a legal immigration system that works — not what we have going on here everyday in the district."

Trump made this possible. While Jeb! was speaking Spanish and showing off his Mexican-American bride, Trump was calling for a wall to keep the bad guys out. His refusal to pander won him the presidency and his presidency won over some Hispanics.

ITEM 16: The BET Awards were on a half-dozen cable channels last night. There are no white-only awards shows.

I skipped them but I was fascinated by this winner.

Maybe we should treat women like guns. Let's have a mandatory background check before dating one. That would screen the felons, the wife-beaters and the other losers.

FINALLY, last week was good with the Supreme Court upholding the 2nd Amendment on guns and the 10th Amendment on allowing states to decide abortion.

This week would go better than that if the justices rule correctly on West Virginia vs. the EPA.

And of course the very lucky and fortunate USA will still be in the picture. I wonder who else will be there with them?

  15. This morning's "Thought for the Day" reminded me (for some obscure reason) of Kurt Schlichter's column over at Townhall this morning... His opening salvo is classic:

"We should understand that the Dobbs abortion decision may have deeply upset some people, and in this difficult time for them we should acknowledge their pain and do everything we can to make it much, much worse. The pro-abort weirdos, losers, and mutations – as well as terrible Twitter lawyers – are mad because they can’t freely kill babies everywhere anymore, and they should feel bad. They are bad people whose moral illiteracy cannot be cured by reason so it has to be sufficient that they experience pain. This is the only way they will learn."

  16. Thought of the day:

I caught a few reactions over the weekend. One poor tortured soul lamented her daughter wouldn't have the same choices she had, and I thought: Did you hear that, honey? Your mom just said she thought about killing you. How does That make you feel?
At some alphabet rally, some dyke said lgifufyxixtitxi++÷÷×+= rights are also women's rights. I wondered if she realized women can't get pregnant eating boxed lunches or playing double-dong games.
And there were more inane comments that all pointed back to the one character flaw those people have: selfishness.
They forget it's still a choice whether to exercise self control and personal responsibility. I think the women that do will also become more discerning who they sleep with and look for better father figures. Who knows, this may lead back to a resurgence in traditional values a two parents (as in mom and pop) and fewer messed up kids.

    As the song goes:
It's alright, have a good time,
Cuz it's alright, oh it's alright.
