AP ignores evidence J6 witness lied

On Tuesday, after some low level staffer in the Trump administration gave some crazy tale about the president, Peter Alexander, Chief White House Correspondent for NBC and a weekend co-anchor on Today, debunked her tale.

Alexander tweeted, "A source close to the Secret Service tells me both Bobby Engel, the lead agent, and the presidential limousine/SUV driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel."

AP ignored Alexander's scoop, which showed this House committee is conducting a witch hunt.

Instead AP followed the narrative of a wild and crazy man who needs to be impeached, impeached, impeached!

AP shrieked, "When President Donald Trump learned his attorney general had publicly rejected his election fraud claims, he heaved his lunch at the wall with such force that the porcelain plate shattered and ketchup streamed down.

"On the morning of Jan. 6, 2021, consumed by crowd size concerns, he directed staff in profane terms to remove metal detectors he thought would slow down supporters who’d amassed in Washington for a speech. Never mind that some were armed — they weren’t there to hurt him, he said.

"And later that day, irate at being driven back to the White House instead of the Capitol, Trump uttered words to the effect of, 'I am the f’ing president. Take me up to the Capitol now' and grabbed at the steering wheel of the presidential vehicle."

AP was not quoting anyone.

There is no attribution.

But Eric Tucker of the AP vouched for this.

In a truly free country, Turner and AP would have to prove their lies in court. The Founding Fathers expected libel laws would continue to protect the innocent from the ravages of propagandists like AP.

But 174 years after ratification of the First Amendment, the Supreme Court decided in NYT v. Sullivan that no public official can hold the press accountable.

And so AP lied.

Instead of calling up Bobby Engel, the lead Secret Service agent, or even citing Alexander's tweet, AP raged on.

I was told in journalism classes long ago that people generally read only the first three paragraphs of a story.

Here was Paragraph 4, "Trump’s volcanic temper has been the stuff of lore throughout his career in business, but during his presidency it has rarely been described with such evocative detail as in the testimony Tuesday of Cassidy Hutchinson, a junior White House staffer whose proximity to the-then president and top aides that day gave her a remarkably close view."

Hutchison is not a witness. She is a gossip. She was not in the limousine. Hers is hearsay that Bobby Engel would debunk, according to Alexander who is staking his very prestigious job on that tweet.

Only in Paragraphs 11 and 12 does AP even try to display any objectivity, screeching, "Looking to blunt negative publicity surrounding her testimony, Trump issued statements Tuesday on his social media platform calling her accounts of his behavior 'fake' and denying that he had requested 'that we make rooms for people with guns to watch my speech.'

"Trump is well-practiced at marginalizing his critics and accusers, but Hutchinson’s well-calibrated testimony will test that power anew."

The right to face one's accusers is paramount in a free country.

AP and Congress would deny that to Trump and if they treat a president like this, you have no chance.

The American Press loves to credit Edward R. Murrow for bringing down Senator Joseph McCarthy and his hearings on communists in the State Department. (The House Un-American Activities Committee conducted the hearings on communists in Hollywood.)

But here is an actual witch hunt and today's Murrows are promoting it.

The hearings we should have are into Hunter's laptop. The impeachment should be of the current man in the Oval Office. The press should not give air to this dying Punch and Judy show.

Former Secret Service man Dan Bongino's latest podcast is "The Trump/Secret Service Scandal That Wasn’t."

This type of reporting is why I cheer every time a newspaper folds.

  1. Good column, Don. Agree 110%. Journalism and newspapers are dying and it is well deserved. Gooder and harder, folks. I have given up on the AP. But as the legacy media dies, new media takes it place and does a much better job. Kudos to you and your blog.

I've still never seen her and Garth Algar in the same place, so I am not convinced they aren't the same person.

    1. Damn shame about him. Before he went full retard, he wrote a couple of really good books on Reagan and Eisenhower.
      Sad.

  4. Hutchinson is another one of these media-created gossips. Remember the young woman last year who was presented as the "brave whistleblower" and former Facebook employee who went public with her insider knowledge about Facebook and censoring? This Hutchinson woman is more of the same. D's internal-polling on the J6 Committee must be bad. LMAO

  5. Has that chick EVER RIDDEN in an ACTUAL LIMO??? You’d have to be fooking Inspector Gadget to reach the wheel from the fooking back seat. Ms. Alexander, just go hang yourself, like Judas Iscariot did. I am not FOOKING joking.

  6. This would be a good test case to use in an attempt to change current libel law. The deliberate negligence and seething hatred for Trump are blatantly obvious, and can only be motivated by personal and organizational malice. I suspect that Clarence Thomas and the SCOTUS majority would chew up AP's attempt at a legal defense and spit it out in tiny little pieces.

    1. The better question, as posed by Chris Plante this morning, is: So Liz Cheney and her Spanish Inquisition spent how much time vetting/verifying the story? Fooking whore.

    We're d-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-med!!!!!!!!

Which explains why they credit him.

  10. Watch her get a big 'book deal' which is how the libs launder the payout money to 'leakers'.
How many Bidens have released books in the past year?? Joe, Hunter, Jill and even the sister. None of the books sell, but they all get big checks laundered through the publishers.

  11. That girl and i do mean girl, wasn’t leaking info so much as she was leaking brains. Too bad for her since she doesn’t seem to have much to spare.how the hell could a man with Trump’s belly ever hope to reach from the back seat of an SUV into the front? Get your five seconds of”fame” little girl. Your twin is over there in the corner. You know. The taped up box with the label “rocks” on it.

  13. Andrew C. McCarthy has become a turncoat. (What dirt does the left have on him?) He wrote: The Jan. 6 incitement case against Trump only gets stronger
The significance of White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony is that it shows Trump knew, in the moments before he took to the podium to give his rambunctious Ellipse speech, that the mob was armed to the teeth, including with firearms.

  14. I make more then $12,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 11 to 12 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it…
    AND GOOD LUCK.:)

  15. I love that you call it the Punch and Judy show. That is exactly what this Kangaroo Court is. They are putting puppets up of Trump and his people and then speaking through them to create a narrative that fits their agenda, regardless of facts.
