George Conway, wife abuser

She was a beauty queen who built a successful business. Later she became the first woman to elect a president as a campaign manager.

Her husband became a jealous blob who tried to publicly humiliate her and undercut her at every turn.

Now Kellyanne Conway has written about her abusive spouse in a memoir, Here's the Deal.

Her situation was best summed up in this paragraph: "I had two men in my life. One was my husband. One was my boss, who happened to be president of the United States. One of those men was defending me. And it wasn't George Conway. It was Donald Trump."

She was and is a strong woman. Georgie Boy couldn't take it. A real man would be proud and supportive of his wife. Chumbawamba Conway was a coward. The Washington Post enabled his misogyny by publishing his screeds about the president which were really aimed at his wife, Kellyanne. Cable TV made Conway a star, the Costanza of Washington.

Divorce was not the answer because they are Catholic. He had her trapped. All of Washington cheered on his monstrous abuse of his wife. And of course, they laughed and mocked him behind his back because his actions showed what a loser he is, seeking approval of people who will never respect him. How could they? Look at how he treated his wife.

But all the liberal talk about feminism is baloney because here was a trailblazer -- a heroine who unlike Hillary definitely did not get to where she was by marriage -- whom the denizens of DC mocked. There are no accolades in their lifetimes for some of the brave.

The book was leaked to the Washington Post as these political memoirs often are.

He made life miserable for her.

She wrote, "Night after night, I would come home from a busy day at work and be there for the kids: dinner, homework, projects. While I was minding dishes, dogs, laundry, managing adolescent dramas and traumas, George would be just steps away from me, tucked away in his home office, plotting against my boss and me."

I do the dishes and help with the laundry. I will admit the cat is my wife's responsibility although I clean the litter. It's called a marriage. You make compromises and you do things together.

As for those adolescent dramas and traumas, George encouraged one daughter to go on social media and put the family's dysfunction on full display. I realize it takes two to make a marriage work. I realize that her long hours exacerbated the situation.

But what sort of monster turns his daughter against his mother like that? Why could George Conway not shut his piehole and think about what he was doing to the woman he professed to love and their children?

She wrote that Ivanka gave her the names of two marriage therapists. Kellyanne wrote, "I appreciated the information and her thoughtfulness and wanted to pursue it. After I showed George the names, he rejected one and said a halfhearted ‘okay’ to the other while looking at his phone. We never went."

It takes two.

In one passage, she wrote, "During this time, the frequency and ferocity of his tweets accelerated. Clearly, he was cheating by tweeting. I was having a hard time competing with his new fling."

Maybe he felt cuckolded. The political is personal in Washington. And he was second in her heart both politically and professionally. His tirades put this on public display and made him look weak. Pity is the last thing a man should want. He crawled on his knees begging for it.

There are two sides to this tale of woe, but George Conway's public behavior during the Trump presidency seems indefensible.

She said Trump told her last year: "Write a great book, honey. You made history. You were the first woman [to manage a winning presidential campaign]. You did a fantastic job. You should talk about it."

She made history not only without the support of her spouse but despite a husband who was opposing her at every turn.

It is said we all make our own hell. George Conway's is a pretty nasty and petty one.

The book ends, "Democracy will survive. America will survive. George and I may not survive."

And now listen as Mr. Frank Sinatra sings a song by Kris Kristofferson.

  1. George Conway, wife abuser"

I used to think that people were basically good. They are not. Human nature is deeply flawed. Don't be a fool.
    There are always signs.
Learn the dark triad of personality - Narcissism, Psychopathy and Machiavellianism.
They are called dark because of their malevolent qualities

    2. Many decades ago 18 months of criminal psychiatry research - analyzing (in judges' chambers) the psychiatric profiles of a random sample from 40 yrs of people evaluated by an eastern big city court's orders - were revealing and sobering. Most humans have some brokenness. Some humans are mostly broken & some completely. Violent criminals & other sociopaths are mostly broken - through their conscious behavior choices. Spousal abuse (the percentages of M abusing F & the reverse are remarkedly close) is sociopathic regardless of the employed "technique" - physical, emotional, financial, etc. or combinations. Sociopaths know what they are doing. Psychopaths do not (true psychopathy is a total disconnection from reality).
As the population has increased through the centuries, the percentages of good & evil may have not changed much. But, the actual numbers of evil people give evil "an advantage" because good people too often are complacent & sometimes will even "fault" themselves because their nature is good.

  3. So sad. This marriage will never be the same and the kids will be the worse for it. Maybe God can fix this.

  4. I was angry when I read this. What a pathetic case for a man. I don't care if they are Catholic. This is a marriage that needs to be ended. You are right that we all make our own hell (most of the time), but staying and being constantly undermined and humiliated is not an option. I do understand that it is not an easy choice to leave. However, if you are going to stay -- goodest and hardest in whatever way you can. The kids already know the marriage is a screw up.

    1. This is a marriage where a father should be there to take his son aside and politely explain in between body blows and hooks to the jaw that loving and cherishing one's spouse doesn't look like this.
I know one man who did exactly that to his errant son, and another where it was the son in law. Destroying marriage has generational consequences.

    2. I agree with you that destroying a marriage has generational consequences. I don't think George Conway is man enough to explain to his son or daughter why their marriage is in trouble. I think Kellyanne could and would do that for her kids.

  5. Big D, I’m surprised you didn’t mention that she’s a breast cancer survivor. Mastectomy and everything. Which proves two points: George sold out like a cheap whore and will get his due from the Lord, and TrueCons are not only smarter than LibCommies, we’re TOUGHER too. We don’t whine like bitches when life throws us a nasty slider.

  7. My Lovely Bride and I have been married for almost thirty-nine years. We have always supported each other in every possible way, from encouraging her to complete her university education to coping with some serious health challenges. My favorite title of all times has been "Barbara's Husband." George Conway had a wonderful opportunity and destroyed it.

  8. They won't divorce because of their Catholocism? The religion that has a Communist as the Pope? The religion that 95% of Bishops won't defend the prohibition of communion for abortion advocates in government?
And finally, while technically prohibited, divorce can be allowed if you write a big enough check to the church.

    Signed,
    A divorced still practicing Catholic

  11. Dear Kellyanne- Clean him and fry him.
My first wife was the abuser best thing I did up to that point was jettisoning her.. The meeting my late wife
holding and cherishing her for 32 years.

  12. My wife and I are Catholics, and we know many divorced Catholic women. Divorce isn't the issue with the Catholic Church. Where the problem would come in is if one or the other were to want to remarry before the other person dies or before the marriage had been annuled. Most of the priests I know would tell her to leave the man, because he's being abusive and turning their kids against her. The Church has been liberalizing (in the actual sense) the granting of annulments if she were to want to remarry, which right now is probably the very last thing on her mind and a bridge they can cross when (or if) they come to it.

I will keep them in my prayers...

  13. You know who will be going to therapy? Their kids. And probably for on and off for the rest of their lives They'll attempt to make sense of their own destructive tendencies and will come to realize that it was their father's malicious way towards their mother that caused them to become messed up adults they are.

  14. I had the opportunity to see several nationally known Republican politicians at a political rally in Buford, GA right before the Nov. 2020 elections. Mrs. Conway was one of the speakers. I had seen her on TV many times before. I immediately notice how smallish of frame she was. This never came through on TV. She is as petite as petite gets.

Knowing this and knowing the hell this pudgy pile of feces put her through, I an angered more. No doubt this Pillsbury Dough Boy felt enable to push her around, given her diminutive size.

  18. It was good that she noted that President Trump encouraged her to write this book. Too bad that she threw him under the bus by writing that he lost the election and was not robbed. MSM is running with that tidbit and ignoring all the wife abuse stories.
