Get government out of science

The Brownstone Institute declared, "Get the Courts Out of Science."

Its founder, Jeffrey A. Tucker, wrote the piece. He is upset that the Supreme Court is considering the vaccine mandate, although like me, he opposes the mandates.

He is no dunce but surely he missed the whole point of this case. This is the last chance to stop the mandates because the Supreme Court is the only institution left to stop the mandate madness. Otherwise the tyranny of technocracy will continue to strip us of our liberty, humanity, and personality. We will become faceless non-character players who merely do as we are told.

"Follow the science" is the mantra of despotism in the 21st century.

Americans have forgotten the cruelty of science under Nazis with their eugenics and their inhumane medical experiments by Josef Mengele.

Tucker wrote, "No matter what people say in retrospect, I seriously doubt that anyone would have predicted a future in which the pandemic highs would be reached following mass vaccination. It’s not only true in the U.S. but also all over the world. However much they help with mitigating severe outcomes of the disease, at least for a time, they have not been successful in stopping the spread of the virus. They will not end the pandemic.

"And yet, so far as I can understand this, that is the whole point of the vaccine mandate. It is to protect workers from getting Covid. There is zero evidence that this is possible with mass mandates in the workforce. People can get and are getting Covid anywhere and everywhere, among which surely means the workplace too. The vaccine is not stopping that. What will bring this pandemic to an end will not be the vaccines but the adaptation of human immune systems, exposed and then developing resilience.

"Apparently there was not one mention of natural immunity during the oral arguments, which is truly astounding. From what I could hear, there was a strangely truncated environment in which no one was willing to say certain obvious truths, almost as if a pre-set orthodoxy had been defined at the outset. There were certain givens that simply were not questioned; namely that this is a disease without precedent, that the state can stop it, that vaccines are the best ticket we have, that the unvaccinated have absolutely no good reason to remain that way."

No one in government considered anything other than an elaborate and expensive new vaccine because that is where the money is. That explains the quick dismissal of HCQ and the mocking of ivermectin, which was used to corral covid in India. There was no money in approving cheap and readily available drugs.

Fauci -- a failed physician -- and the FDA are corrupt paramours of Big Pharma. Their covid reaction condemned thousands to early deaths. This convinced me that for the right price they would approve Thalidomide for pregnant mothers today.

Science was once independent and trustworthy. Thanks to government research grants, all scientists now work for the government or starve. This is why no one dares to conduct any research that question the climate change orthodoxy.

Four centuries ago, the pope insisted Earth is the center of the universe. Only the pope's earlier friendship with Galileo spared Galileo.

Covid's attack on freedom was predictable because we put a phony expert in charge.

Reagan brought Fauci to DC to develop a vaccine for AIDS. Instead, Fauci built a bureaucratic empire, expanding his budget 10-fold. He is now the highest-paid government employee. He will enjoy the largest pension in U.S. government history if he ever gets the boot. He knows nothing about stopping a virus but everything in the world about creating a fiefdom.

He is far from alone, just the best at it.

They manipulated data, gave bad advice, and demanded we sacrifice our liberty. They are arrogant, greedy, and incompetent.

Clay Travis tweeted today, "The CDC director just said over 75% of covid deaths occurred in people with at least four comorbidities. Since Biden can’t shut down covid, suddenly all this data is getting shared publicly."

It is CYA.

Eisenhower warned us about the dangers of government-run science in his farewell address in 1961, which is chiefly known for his warning about the military-industrial complex.

Of science, Ike said, "Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

"In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

"Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been over shadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

"The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

"Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

"It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system-ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society."

Yes, he said that 61 years ago.

He warned us.

We failed to heed that warning.

The only people who can save us now from the techno tyranny are the nine justices sitting on the Supreme Court.

  1. Supreme Court: 3 leftist zealot morons, 1 conservative, 4 supposed to be legal scholars and ONE lying pieceofcrap bought and paid for scumbag roberts. Good luck, America, you’re going to need it. How are they going to vote? Depends on who offers them the most, threatens them most effectively, or just how f-ing stupid can they be. Only God knows and he’s probably laughing.

  2. Me love Ike. Amazing. I think of how the left has arranged around the "vaccine is god" approach. They offer no treatments and dis any possible treatments. Is Ivermectin killing people? Sounds like its effects are sort of like my effects with omicron. Funny stuff.

    1. Back in the early days of this (spring 2020) when people I knew were hoping for a vaccine, I told them some truths to consider. One is that no vaccine is 100% safe. Another is that no vaccine is 100% effective (just look at how badly annual flu vaccines have performed). And a third is that an effective vaccine against this thing, while worth trying to get (who knows what a concerted effort might learn?), was a long-shot - since coronaviruses mutate so regularly that it's difficult to keep up with them; the "common cold" is also a coronavirus, and getting a cure for the common cold is basically a laugh line for obvious reasons.

A vaccine is/was only going to be one aspect - along with therapies, trying to improve general health, classifying different segments of the population for special protection, etc., etc., etc.

The left has a bad habit of being one-trick ponies who believe in the "100% effectiveness" of things the federal bureaucracy does. But clearly, part of their panic reaction to try to say that maybe this is over is because no doubt covid is polling really, really badly for them now (and leftists don't care about reality - they only care about POWER.)

    2. There is no crime they will not commit to keep and regain power. None.

  4. Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged featured the corrupt State Science Institute, used to justify whatever the corrupt bureaucrats wanted to implement. Now we're living it.

  5. There are so many industries and people that are completely dependent on gubment funding. They have become as corrupt as their gubment masters. The fundees will do anything to keep the money flowing. The funders want to grow their patch.

  6. It's not the courts, it's the politicians.

"Follow the science" is the mantra of despotism in the 21st century.

Much like the science is settled was in the 20th.

Americans have forgotten the cruelty of science under Nazis with their eugenics and their inhumane medical experiments by Josef Mengele.

That wasn't science. It was politics.

Reagan brought Fauci to DC to develop a vaccine for AIDS.

Wrongaroonies. The Deep State Dwark hit DC in '68.

Unless Reagan was President in '68.

The only people who can save us now from the techno tyranny are the nine justices sitting on the Supreme Court.

    Not really.

According to them, abortion is still OK, but the people have moved beyond that.

    Same here.

    1. So,
It's not the courts... Cute that you distinguish between the courts and politics.
      Follow the science... Good point.
That wasn't science... I believe the most strident support for eugenics was found in the US, but that is beside the point. Courts/politics and science/politics same-same. Politics has forever sought to steer and control science and it has usually worked, until reality stuck its nose into the conversation. Then things get interesting.
      Wrongaroonies...
You are correct, Fauci has been around since'68, Reagan made him the director of NIAID in'84. Geronimo was an Apache for decades before he was the Chief. But when he became Chief things got interesting.
Not really... I'm not sure what point you are making but if you are saying don't pin your hopes on the courts, amen.

  7. Donald Trump’s Real Crime: he ran America for the benefit of everyday Americans.

That’s why the Occupation Government reacted like a strict, life-long vegan frantically trying to spit out the poison after biting into a Quadruple Wendy’s BACONATOR(tm). With cheese.

This alleged Court has previously ruled through both omission and dereliction that Honest Elections are optional, a disposable tic and not the fundamental bedrock of our former system of Self-Government.

Now we will see if the so-called “Justices” still view us as free citizens–or as mRNA runaways from the Vaccine Industrial State, DNA Dred Scotts who must be returned to Massa Fauci’s Big Pharma Plantation.

Do they really not remember what happened last time?

  8. This Court has also argued in support of the quantum nature of government programs in that Obamacare is both a tax and a fee simultaneously, only becoming one or the other when observed by a citizen/taxpayer and becomes a pain in the ass.

    1. And that decision cost Robert's his in with the conservative bloc. Robert's because of a generic count 6-3 split will be forced to vote with the conservatives and doesn't have enough pull to force Kavanaugh and Barrett to the left. He screwed up.

  10. Re: Mengele and that hideous crowd he ran in (and died in), let's not forget that the worst phony "science" atrocity in human history was (and remains) communism.

Anyone old enough to have listened to old Radio Moscow on the shortwave bands will remember the constant assertions by the toadies who read the broadcasts. "The great scientist karl marx - the greatest scientist who ever lived - proved SCIENTIFICALLY that..." (insert statement that he proved that communism was the terminal endpoint of human social evolution).

Funny thing was how huge a perversion of "science" that was. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the work of Charles Darwin, his work was horribly misinterpreted during the 19th century. Darwinian evolution is an ongoing process - not an "endpoint." His ideas were mangled into showing a terminal endpoint in biological evolution (humans being the terminal endpoint, full stop). That was the mangled interpretation that k.m. created - that just as there was a terminal endpoint of biological evolution (humans), there was a terminal endpoint of human social evolution (communism). There IS no terminal endpoint in any theory of evolution - dimwits like k.m. made it so (in theory).

  11. Fauci may wind up with a very lavish pension, but at 81 it doesn't seem likely that he'll get to enjoy it all that long. Or at least I hope he won't.

What I find absolutely astounding about the vaccine case before the SCOTUS is that all of the arguments appear to be focused on the virus and the effectiveness of the government's response to it, and NOTHING at all on the sheer legality of the mandate in the first place. This what happens when you let women run things.

  12. I will be surprised if they stop the mandate. Too much lately the road to hell is not just paved with good intentions (and greed) but it's on rail road tracks with green lights all the way. We're riding a Highball to Hell and now one seems to care.
I'm sad in a way as I'm no longer young enough to contribute to the fight to get back our freedoms. I'm happy in a way that I'm so old and lived a long life so that being forced to give it up either by the poison injected by the government or a bullet from the nazi thugs being ordered to do so by the government won't be such a loss of time. Perhaps I'll sacrifice myself to save some younger person on a suicide mission so that they may partake of the fruits of my death.

They used to call it suicide by cop? This will be suicide by Nazi Stormtrooper who stole my country from me and whom I will demand it back by force of arms if necessary. May God have mercy on my soul.

  14. Remember "Harry Lyme" (Orson Welles) in The Third Man (film, 1948)? The man willing to and actively selling watered-down drugs in order to make massive profits --- which cannot prevent illnesses from children whop then die? Fauci is Harry Lyme. Fiction is now fact? WORSE. The United States government IS HARRY LYME.
