Democrats have an albatross named Biden

Maybe we should start calling him President Al B. Tross because Democrats now realize Biden is dangling from their necks, holding them down. They would love to cut him loose ahead of this year's congressional elections.

The New York Times was polite about it, headlining its report, "Frustrated Democrats Call for ‘Reset’ Ahead of Midterm Elections."

But the story contradicts that. Democrats are not frustrated. They are frightened. And they are not searching for a reset button. They are asking themselves, my lord, what have we done?

NYT reported, "Democrats already anticipated a difficult midterm climate, given that the party in power historically loses seats during a president’s first term. But the party’s struggle to act on its biggest legislative priorities has rattled lawmakers and strategists, who fear their candidates will be left combating the perception that Democrats failed to deliver on President Biden’s central campaign promise of rebooting a broken Washington."

By perception, NYT means reality.

Fail in various conjugations (failed, failing, failure) appeared seven times in the story.

Reset appeared once. Democrat Cheri Bustos said, "We really kind of need to reset at this point. I hope we focus on what we can get done and then focus like crazy on selling it."

Bustos's reset is to leave Congress. She is one of 26 Democrats who won't seek re-election this year. That is the most in 26 years. In 1996, 29 Democrats did not seek another term.

What Democrats fear, however, is a tsunami like 2010 when they lost 63 seats in the House and 7 in the Senate (including a special election) as the public said no to Obamacare.

But Obama had a mandate. His election 2 years earlier gave Democrats majorities of 257-178 in the House and 59-41 in the Senate.

Biden has no mandate. Democrats lost 13 House seats in a rarity for a new president's party, cutting their lead to 222-213. The Senate is divided 50-50.

But Democrat voters believe they have a mandate. Schumer and Pelosi cannot deliver the major changes they promised. To divert attention from their failure, Schumer tried to shift the blame to filibustering. The media banged that drum for weeks and except for the Twitterverse, no one cared.

Bernie told NYT, "Millions of Americans have become very demoralized — they’re asking, what do the Democrats stand for? Clearly, the current strategy is failing and we need a major course correction."

Millions want socialism.

But the majority does not.

In a flat-out editorial today (as opposed to stories presented as news), the New York Post reported, "Lefties and much of the media are hating on Sen. Kyrsten Sinema for standing up for the filibuster and so thwarting the latest bid to impose progressives’ desires on the country.

"Will they ever admit that the real problem is that most Americans don’t remotely want what they’re selling?"

Of course not.

Bradley Beychok, president of American Bridge 21st Century, told NYT, "We need to get into the business of promotion and selling and out of the business of moaning and groaning."

But you cannot sell shit as Shinola because the market is limited to people who announce their pronouns upon meeting you.

Even NYT finally admitted it, noting in the penultimate paragraph of the story, "Others say that as president, Mr. Biden has fallen out of step with many voters by focusing on issues like climate change and voting rights. While crucial for the country, those topics aren’t topping the list of concerns for many voters still trying to navigate the uncertainties of a pandemic stretching into a third year."

That's a stunning admission from NYT, whose pronouns are liar, liars, and statistics.

  2. It's comical that a Democrat leaving office is giving advice to others she is abandoning. She should have just said, last one to leave, turn off the lights.

    1. I've held for a while that the Dems have reaped the whirlwind, and the Karmic chickens are now going to roost. I'm going to watch Trump tonight.
Oh, earlier my friend and I were watching the crowd buildup in AZ. lots of Hispanics and more than a few blacks.

  3. Thanks for reading The NY Times so we don’t have to. It’s like reading Pravda and Izvestia in the old Soviet Union. You had to read nuance and between the lines to find out what was actually taking place.

  4. Cheri Bustos was banished by the Pelosi Mafia after she was made the scapegoat for the poor Congressional election results in 2020. I mean SHE WAS ICED. It's amazing that she wasn't publicly guillotined, "LIVE, in our CNN studio!" Now, she's back. Which means that absolutely no one cares about what the Pelosi Mafia can do to them now. All is lost. Good. And in the background, the music of the Veep Shrieking.

  6. The issue here is that 2 years ago, the Demos realized they had no bench (no bench! they didn't even have a field) at the national level. After Wu Ping Cough, they realize they have none at the state level, either.

Trump, you magnificent bastard. You did what no R has been able to do since Abraham Lincoln. You exposed the Democrat party for what it is.

I love it when a plan comes together.

    Biden has no mandate.

Only because nobody voted for him.

    2. It's not who the votes are cast for, it's who counts the votes that matter. And Dominion did the counting for the DIMS in 2020. NO way Dementia Joe got 16MM more votes than Hillary. Trump got 12MM more and lost. Total fraud.

  10. Democrats and Biden in particular have no mandate and know it. They advance their agenda by any means possible knowing cowardly Republicans never undo their 'handy work'. Obamacare comes to mind among others.

  11. Dems live in an alternate reality. They still think it’s just a messaging problem, not the message itself. I read today that they are now trying to creat “a new image” for Kamala. As Sarah Palin would say, “lipstick on a pig”.

  12. It is not just Biden who is the problem...the radical leftist media and party behind him, the puppeteers who are pulling the strings. This is a real and present danger. Biden is a distraction.

  13. I don't believe the Democrats would do any better without Biden up there. They've made some very serious mistakes and claims and they know it. They know the reaction is such that they are even looking at doing something about Biden. Most mid terms are a massacre regardless of who or what party is the President.

No. This is worse and all the polls theirs and the ones that the public sees. They have real problems as their true inner selves of their leaders and the party itself have shown the public that they are quite willing and actually desirous of the dismantling of the US and the disenfranchising of almost 50% of the population and that they are willing to take physical action and then lie so they can charge those they seized with much greater charges than deserved. And in spite of doing the same thing in previous years and letting all of the perpetrators off with a slap on the wrist or less.

The mask is off (pun intended) and there's an ugly face underneath.

  14. Meant to say beginning 2nd paragraph that the polls are absolutely horrendous and never been seen before and those are the public ones. I would imagine the private ones are worse to make so many bail.

  15. Q: You know what the REAL Mass Formation Psychosis is?

And no, it's not pretending Biden won.

A: The entire city of Washington D.C. putting the guy who INVENTED THE VIRUS in charge of CURING THE VIRUS.

And PRETENDING you don't know it.

Even before you get to the massive financial conflicts, THAT’S FUCKING INSANE.
