Biden shouldn't meet the press

Tuesday afternoon, Biden returned to the White House via helicopter. As usual, reporters shouted questions at him. He walked away.

After the way the press treated Donald John Trump, why would any president ever treat the press with any decency or respect?

President Trump gave the press loads of availabilities. He would stand there and take questions in the White House driveway for 25 minutes before boarding the helicopter.

The press treated him like dirt.

Biden may not be the brightest light on the Christmas tree, but even he realizes the worthlessness of good press relations. Let the press secretary handle the noise. He has better things to do, like keeping Hunter clean and sober enough to collect the bribes that pay for the family rehabs.

Hamas-shielding AP whined, "As Biden wraps up his first year in the White House, he has held fewer news conferences than any of his five immediate predecessors at the same point in their presidencies, and has participated in fewer media interviews than any of his recent predecessors.

"The dynamic has the White House facing questions about whether Biden, who vowed to have the most transparent administration in the nation’s history, is falling short in pulling back the curtain on how his administration operates and missing opportunities to explain his agenda."

Hahaha.

After watching the press treat The Donald like a punching bag for 4 years, Biden will not give the boys on the bus the time of day.

AP rolled out a Bidenite to spin the story, Martha Joynt Kumar, a professor emerita in political science at Towson University and director of the White House Transition Project.

She said, "While President Biden has taken questions more often at his events than his predecessors, he spends less time doing so. He provides short answers with few follow-ups when he takes questions at the end of a previously scheduled speech."

Of course, he has far fewer events.

AP reported, "Biden has done just 22 media interviews, fewer than any of his six most recent White House predecessors at the same point in their presidencies."

And AP reported, "President Donald Trump, who regularly pilloried the media, did 92 interviews in his first year in office, more than two dozen of those with friendly interlocutors at Fox News. But Trump also held lengthy sessions with ABC News, The Associated Press, the New York Times, Reuters and other outlets whose coverage he impugned throughout his presidency."

More than two dozen friendly interviews means nearly 70 enemy ones.

And he impugned the coverage because they lied.

Russian Collusion was the biggest lie -- the biggest political fraud ever.

No one in their right mind would cooperate with the press after that. And in the case of Biden, no one in their wrong mind would.

I would like to say the press is reaping what it sowed, but I cannot lie. The press defecated where it dines. It can enjoy its meal because that is all that Biden will serve them.

Good for him.

  1. Maybe he just got tired of them fawning all over him all the time?

  2. Re: last paragraph. The way I see it merely the press dines on what it can do -- no less, no more. You eat what you sow.

  3. I see your point, Don. But I also don't think Brandon has the capabilities or agility that The Donald had to answer reporters' questions or lob balls for any sustained period of time. But the media are certainly reaping what they sowed, and it's well deserved for sure.

    1. He just sits there w that shit eating grin or walks away. Shouted, unanswered questions are not a media interaction but the White House counts them all, just like being at the hospital to remove your appendix but you happen to have the flu.

    2. Let's face it, in a battle of witts and words, Donald Trump is the Muhammad Ali of debate.

    3. Good one, JeremyR-- "Donald Trump is the Muhammad Ali of debate"-- True, true, true!
I'm going to borrow that if you don't mind.

  5. Brandon doesn't have to be concerned with getting the same treatment from the press that Trump did. It's not that he spurns them because they are corrupt (which they are), it's because his handlers know he is not capable. More press coverage would further expose his feebleness and ineptness.

  6. I don’t think it’s because of how the treat him, they even fawn over his ice cream cones. He ignores the press because his handler know he doesn’t have the cognitive skills left to handle unscripted Q&A. He blunders enough already on speeches and prescriptive questions they don’t want to make it worse.

  9. Brandon's handlers know he can't be trusted. He has the mind, and the personality, of a 2 year old.

Challenge him, he throws a tantrum.

  10. I know we disagree on this, Don, and after the last time I disagreed with you in the 2016 election (I did not know enough about Trump, and thought he would be a disaster) I disagree reluctantly now. BUT IMHO Biden shows all the signs of increasing dementia. I think the Weekend at Bernie's crew limit his opportunities to show it.

When my mother (who passed away from/with Alzheimer's in April last year) would get angry (usually because I was trying to get her to go to assisted living) she would have some of her most lucid moments. I asked our family doc about that, and he said it is not uncommon. When folks get ticked off their blood pressure and circulation increase. Alzheimer's and the other forms of dementia are basically circulatory disorders of the brain. I've noticed that when Ol' Joe gets ouchy he is more cognizant than at any other time.

  11. Well, you shouldn't call them the press to begin with, it gives them warm and fuzzy feelings. They should be referred to as the stenographers of the democrat party.
