Quit testing for covid

Anti-vaxxers are delighted to see Gibraltar -- the most vaccinated country in the world -- has the highest covid infections. Things are so bad that the government cancelled Christmas.

But Gibraltar has not had a covid death since October 15. Why the panic?

So people have covid?

So what?

It is not like smallpox, which at its peak killed one-third of those infected. If you had smallpox, you knew it.

But this virus kills less than 1% of those infected. Most people who have it don't know it. Ignorance is bliss. Unless you have a symptom, you really should not be tested because all it does is panic everyone.

Which brings us to why Gibraltar leads the league in covid cases even though it has suffered only 5 deaths in the past 7 months. The government is obsessed by covid. It keeps testing for covid and it keeps finding covid because covid is a virus and you really cannot stop the spread of a virus.

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse (aka the Last Refuge) pointed out that Geert Vanden Bossche, an  expert vaccine developer in Belgium, warned us not to vaccinate everyone. Instead, let healthy people develop a natural immunity.

Sundance distilled the remarks as, "The widespread vaccination rate is creating pressure on the virus to mutate into variants with higher levels of contagion. The unvaccinated group has been keeping the pressure down by defeating the virus and carrying natural immunity. However, as the unvaccinated population is increasingly made smaller, the pressure on the virus to mutate increases. Subsequently, these mutations stay at higher or more effective levels of infection."

So instead of vax mandates (which I oppose) protecting the public, mandates put the public health at risk.

In the London Plague in the 17th century, the mayor ordered all dogs and cats be killed because the experts said the canines and felines spread the disease. It turned out rats did, and killing the dogs and cats protected the rat population.

A better policy might be to get at-risk groups -- old people and people with co-morbidities -- vaccinated and leave everyone else the hell alone.

Leaving people the hell alone is a pretty good public policy in general.

At any rate, quit testing healthy people for it. Stop it. Just stop. All we are doing is amping up anxiety.

  1. I read the Geert Vanden Bossche article a couple of weeks ago. It really moved the needle for me in terms of natural immunity and that we can't vax our way out of this. As I have said many times here, I am vaxxed but I respect people's choices. I am against vax mandates. And, we do need to stop testing people all the time. I also agreed with protecting and taking measures to help the vulnerable. (Always favored Sweden and Florida in terms of approach.) It is now time to live. It's over when, we the people, say it's over. Let's move on.

  2. I'm one of those high risk groups. I had the Moderna jab-no booster. Doc say it isn't necessary . 'she's having doubts about the clots, and thinks I might be better off without it. So far no booster mandate. BTW my AIC test was good so I'm ok. less issues. Whe I saw her, I had symptoms, but no fever. Weird, nasty cold,no
fever ever. Well maybe. i have always run less body temp than most. My late wife always kidded me at it usually runs about 97.3 -"Vulcan ancestor" she'd say.
When I had that Cold, I was 98.7 Doc didn't seen to think it was a big deal. I don't know but I can't get an antibody test.

  4. It's becoming evident that the quackcine does nothing to protect anyone. The best way to protect those at risk is limited isolation. Once a number of caregivers have achieved natural immunity, task them with care for the at risk people. Expand the circle around them as others become immune through natural means.
The reason we don't is because these gouls want to kill off the at risk people who they see as a drain on society. Welcome to Logan's run. Or is this blade runner?

  5. I have read that newer vaccines by Novavax and NeuroRX are undergoing stage 3 trials. They are different than the ones currently approved by the FDA and CDC in that the first one is based on proteins and the latter on a viral vector. I would tell those rushing out the mandates to wait and see if these new vaccines are more safe and effective than the ones currently in use, thus volleying the ball back into the CDC's court.

    1. If these new vaccines follow the normal phased trial timetable, we should know if they’re safe and effective just in time for the 2024-2025 flu season.

  7. The Red Plague has a 99.97% survival rate. The whole thing is fake.

And, yeah, this is the Reds' (with the usual useless idiots' help) doing, wire to wire.

  13. Both I and my Lovely Bride are vaxxed. We're both in the over-70 high risk cohort. No ill effects other than my complete loss of body hair following the second jab.

That said, I've said many times that people should do their own threat assessment and act accordingly. The Confederacy of Karens I face are appalled by such an attitude. I'll bo me and you do you doesn't compute for them.

  16. Don,since I choose not to get the jab and don't want anyone mandating it on me or anyone else, some would label me an "antivaxxer". With that in mind, I want to politely disagree with your characterization of antivaxxers as "delighted" about Gibraltar's high positive rate. There may be some individuals like that -- any given group of humans is liable to have its share of louts -- but we don't all share that view. Many people I care about (including the Surbers!) have taken the shot, and I wish them all only the best of health.

  17. A good friend of my wife's father just got the booster + flue shot. Later that day he started shaking with high fever. He has been admitted and is too weak to have a cat scan. He is in ICU. He is 70 years old and it does not look good. All the attending drs. have no idea what to do. Not only to the vaccines not work as advertised but they can be poison. Take D3, zinc, Kefir and do your best to stay active and healthy. If you are older like me, get outside everyday for a walk, run, bike ride or just working in the yard or better on your classic car; I have 3!

  20. That's what I've been practicing. As one of those in the high risk group (high risk for problems from the vaxx too. Something they don't remind you about.) I have self quarantined. Whenever I go out it's brief and I wear a mask. In out a home. As a result; no covid (knock on wood) or if I have had it it was mild. Now I'm afraid as more and more people will be spreading the delta and epsilon variants and they might just overwhelm my system or last longer on surfaces or in the air.

It was all a fake panic. The numbers were never high enough to justify what was done and still being done. And now they'll never admit they were wrong. We won't get out of this until they can figure a way to stop that doesn't make them look stupid.

  26. Good article except for this: "A better policy might be to get at-risk groups -- old people and people with co-morbidities -- vaccinated and leave everyone else the hell alone." Leave the old people alone too. If they want the shot, then, and only then, should they have it. There is no reason or right to forcibly inject them.

  31. They keep testing for Covid, because it's all they have. My sister just died from the other Big "C".. Cancer. Was her death any less tragic going through YEARS of Chemo, than the deaths of those who go thru the trials of Covid. I think NOT. Death comes- we don't want it, look forward to it OR invite it in. but it's a FACT of life. Stop the Covid stuff-- we will NOT be controlled. I'm 83- supposed to be in the 'vulnerable' group. but, I'm still going - like Timex. I do not want more shots. I'm SICK of the masks. The masks enhance 'sickness' because we breathe our own breath & runny noses, etc. Kids have lost a YEAR of seeing happy faces. All they hear is mean voices... Give me a break. Give us ALL a break.

  32. I had Covid a year ago, almost didn't survive, am fully vaccinated and boosted, and am vehemently against mandates. I get it. I'm high risk and have to take more precautions. I also know that vaccines cannot keep up with the mutations. This is valuable information.
