Libs realize Biden is now a problem

Biden was never much of a liberal. In fact, he wrote the draconian crime bill that Democrats passed in 1994 in a doomed play to hang on to Congress.

But Obama vouched for him, and that was enough.

Besides, the Deep State trusted him -- and Democrats had no one else. Sanders and Buttigieg were leading their race.

In the 10th month of his 48-month first term, the nation is worse off than it was a year ago when it had no vaccine for a virus that pushed everyone in a panic. Things go poorly for liberals despite Biden backing every hare-brained concoction they offer.

Two weeks ago, DC suburbanites in Northern Virginia stayed home and allowed the rest to elect a Republican governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general. Obama, Kamala, and Biden could not carry a former governor over the finish line in a race against a businessman seeking office for the first time.

The troubles are many in the nation and Biden has no answer.

Cargo ships cannot be unloaded fast enough which leaves store shelves barren, and factories silenced due to a lack of parts.

Biden's spokeswoman mocked the situation, and said, "The tragedy of the treadmill undelivered."

Expect a giftless Christmas, which is just as well since the Mask Stasi won't let anyone get nearer than 6 feet from each other as Democrats continue to impose restrictions that have failed to stop or even slow covid for 18 months.

This ain't working, and liberals have noticed it.

Jeff Greenfield of Politico wrote, "Inflation has a unique power to kneecap a presidency. Incumbent presidents and their parties do not do well at all when inflation (and attempts to cure it) are on voters’ minds come election time. The gas pump, the supermarket check-out counter, the heating bill, the sticker on the windshield, provide — or seem to provide — powerful indictments against the party in charge.

"If that’s not enough to unsettle the White House and its allies, consider this: Presidents have almost no power to ease the pain of inflation, and the voting public cuts presidents no slack at all because of that impotence. Look into the toolbox of our country’s chief executive and you’ll find it empty of effective tools, filled instead with devices now obsolete or laughable or meaningless or politically destructive."

Presidents have plenty of power. They hire the chairman of the Federal Reserve which runs the economy.

What presidents lack is the will to break inflation because the only way out is a recession. Reagan was the last to break inflation. He did it in his first year, took a huge hit in the midterm election, and won re-election in a 49-state rout in 1984.

Biden was there but he believes he can ride out inflation. We shall see if he can.

Covid lingers as an issue because Democrat governors won't admit their restrictions were daft, ineffective, and unconstitutional.

Liberals realize covid hurts their brand.

James Lynch of Newsweek wrote, "America has moved on from the coronavirus pandemic. The lockdowns are over, schools are opening back up, sports stadiums are full, and the holiday season is in full swing. Americans are going about their everyday lives as we approach the milestone of herd immunity through vaccinations and natural immunity to covid-19.

"But while most Americans are relegating coronavirus to the back burner, the Biden administration is not, refusing to bring back the normalcy the country was promised during the campaign. Though President Biden's controversial vaccine mandate was recently struck down in court by a federal judge after over half the Attorneys General in the United States challenged it in court, the Biden administration is planning on defying the court and enforcing the President's executive order compelling businesses with at least 100 employees get their staff vaccinated by early January 2022."

Meanwhile, Hispanic voters are assimilating which means they are voting republican.

Soledad Ursúa wrote, "In Virginia, Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Clintonista Democrat Terry McAuliffe for governor. Youngkin ran on school choice, an issue dear to Latinos who understand that education is the key to prosperity and the middle class. A survey by AP VoteCast showed that black voters supported McAuliffe by nearly 8-to-1. Latino voters, on the other hand, appear to have favored Youngkin, who received 55% of the Hispanic vote, compared to only 43% supporting McAuliffe. If Latinos had voted in the same pattern as other minority voters, it would have guaranteed a Democratic victory. They didn’t, which does not portend well for the future of the Democratic Party, since President Joe Biden won Virginia by 10 percentage points a year earlier."

She is a conservative but certainly liberals are worried about the demographic shift. Hispanics were supposed to save the Democrat Party.

Biden's first year as president has savaged America.

He surrendered Afghanistan after a decade of stability.

He failed to get the cargo unloaded.

He failed to stanch inflation.

He has prolonged covid as a news story.

Biden has plenty of time to fix his political fortunes. But liberals are worried, and they should be.

  1. Don: none of this matters one iota unless we the people demand free and fair elections.
We would not be in this mess if the last Presidential election was handled as it should have been.
Americans MUST take back control of our country. If we cannot do so by means of a trustworthy system of elections, then we must do so by an American Revolution 2.0.
The question is: who will spearhead the millions looking for a leader?

    1. What about the people, Jeffery? Why do they need a leader? That's the problem with people of your ilk (I never ilk, but, in this case, I'll make an exception).

They need to be led and will toss everything for someone who will tell them what to do, what to think (if allowed), what to say, and whom to hate.

If you want a leader for the country, we have one.

Donald John Trump is still our president.

    2. “Why do they need a leader? That's the problem with people of your ilk … They need to be led…” You prefer an unruly mob to a well-regulated militia, doucher?

An unruly (i.e., without rules) mob has no leader to impose discipline and direct the action of the participants. Mobs have no strategic thinking directing them. Is mob rule your idea of an effective way to “take back the country”? If so, why haven’t we seen long-lasting success in the autonomous zones that unruly mobs “took back” in Democrat hellholes?

Every militia on earth — from a few hundred goat herders in Afghanistan to China’s billion-man army — has leaders to impose discipline and direct the fight. That’s why the Constitution talks about a “well-regulated” militia. Well-regulated militias win; unruly mobs lose. So yes, we need leaders for strategy and insight.

Or I guess we could just close our eyes to the real world and chant metaphysical affirmations that we’ve already won the fight on a spiritual level and Donald Tump is still our president.

    7. Thanks, guys. I doubt that the doucher even logs back in after posting his pearls of wisdom, so he likely never sees others’ response, but sometimes I just have to push back against the insanity. Normally I just skip his rants. Don’t know why I got sucked in tonight.

  2. Biden is simply a figurehead, but we'll accept your use of his name as representative of the entire Brandon administration.

  3. Greenfield has always been a Perrier Lefty, much as George Will was once described as a Perrier Conservative (~). If he sees it, everybody else does.

Liberals realize covid hurts their brand.

The brand is dead. The Demos are hemorrhaging women, blacks, and Hispanics, not to mention blue collar whites.

The Roosevelt coalition is no more.

    Thank God.

Biden has plenty of time to fix his political fortunes.

Not really. He was always part of the state machine and they made sure he won, or at least was returned to the Senate.

Now he's on his own with a party establishment made up of the kind of people who always (with good reason) looked down their nose at him.

  4. Ifyou look at this country's reactions to economic downturns, you see a pattern. When the gov't tried to stimulate or rregulate an escape, the economy always flatlined or worsened (eg. The Great Depression). When the gov't cut spending and/or lowered taxes, the economy came back. (eg. Harding & Coolidge admins). Coolidge met extensively with his Treasury head trying to cut spending (they even required government employees to turn in their old pencils before they could be given a new one.(Ever heard of the roaring '20s? Even GW BUSH knew enough to cut taxes. The PPPOTUS (poopy pants president of the US has no clue (Neither do his handlers). Expect a re-run of the Obama economy.

  6. Not mentioned is interest rates which are primarily a real rate of return of like 2 to 3% plus the inflation rate. If inflation is charging along for a period of time and forecasts don't show a return to stability, interest rates will rise, and rise fast. I've had a 17.5% mortgage and it hurt a lot. Imagine mortgage rates even at 7%, the real estate market will freeze up.

What is worse is the interest on 28 trillion is 840 billion / year at 3%, but 1.96 trillion at 7%, raising our annual spending by over a trillion additional, the current annual is around 4 trillion. Basically no ability to spend on anything except the essentials.

The fed has been trying for over a decade keeping interest rates low, that is soon to change big time.

This will make many a voter VERY unhappy.

  7. Voters will be made unhappy over interest rates or inflation, or taxes. Iexpect all three to go up with the current admin (whoever is running itB). Biden's handlers seem to have let go of the hande).

I used to believe that before jug ears declared war on the industries that heat and power my home. Joetato went to war against affordable energy on his first day in office. I just heard that these clowns are shutting down oil and gas drilling in New Mexico. Jeff Greenfield is a moron.

  15. President's have no way to control inflation, yet President Trump managed to do it. In early 2020 when the dempanic started, prices started to rise, especially food and fuel. Trump got it under control. When a government starts printing worthless script, inflation is pretty much a guarantee. The other factor is availably. When goods are plentiful, it's hard to raise prices, but when needed goods are stuck on ships that cannot be unloaded because of draconian shipping rules which violate the interstate commerce clause, it becomes a cost of doing business.
