Biden official wrote, "How to Kill a Country."

On December 1, 2003, The Atlantic published a column by Samantha Power, "How To Kill a Country. Turning a breadbasket into a basket case in ten easy steps—the Robert Mugabe way."

She later became Obama's UN ambassador, and Biden made her the head of the United States Agency for International Development, which divvies up the foreign aid we use to bribe dictators.'

18 years after publication, her column is a primer for Biden's transformation of the United States.

Here are the10 steps.

1. Destroy the engine of productivity.

Red China has done much of that as members of the Chamber of Commerce prefer slavery to paying union wages. Major League Baseball just shuttered a baseball helmet company in Minnesota in favor of a helmet company in Red China.

OSHA and the EPA also helped. Our water and air are so clean now compared to 60 years ago that the EPA has had to chase the imaginary problem of carbon dioxide for the past 30 years. If you cannot control the means of production, you must destroy it.

2. Bury the truth.

She pointed to Zimbabwe's state television. She wrote, "The station is required to play at least once every hour a social-realist commercial accompanied by the jingle 'Rambai Makashinga,' or 'Persevere.' The ad shows youthful, chiseled Zimbabweans, dressed in designer jeans, dancing in maize and wheat fields as they cheerily harvest the season's crops. Many are wearing yellow and green, the colors of the ruling party. One is wearing a T-shirt bearing the number 23, signifying Mugabe's years in power. The maize is shucked to the beat, and the hoes land rhythmically in the rich red soil. The commercial reminds starving Zimbabweans what they got from their liberation from white rule: Nike sneakers and crops aplenty."

In America, our propaganda machines have better production value and bigger budgets. The payoff is Nike sneakers and EBT cards.

3. Crush dissent.

Today marks the 9th month anniversary of the January 6 protest inside the Capitol. Hundreds remain in solitary confinement without bail and without hope of having their cases heard for years.

4. Legislate the impossible.

She wrote, "For all the lawlessness in Zimbabwe, the country in fact suffers from an overabundance of laws. Indeed, Mugabe has introduced so many economic edicts in the past year that most citizens have found it impossible to keep track."

Our criminal code is published in volumes.

5. Teach hate.

Zimbabwe had its Green Bombers. We have critical race theory. Both are based on the belief that black people are superior to white devils.

6. Scare off foreigners.

Actually, Biden has not done that. In fact, he is importing illegal aliens to out populate native Americans. Odd.

7. Invade a neighbor.

Power wrote, "As even a democracy like the United States has shown, waging war can benefit a leader in several ways: it can rally citizens around the flag, it can distract them from bleak economic times, and it can enrich a country's elites. In August of 1998 Robert Mugabe sent 11,000 soldiers—a third of his army—into the most menacing country in Africa: the Congo. He justified the invasion on the grounds that he was defending the sovereignty of an African country being invaded by Rwandan, Ugandan, and Burundian forces, which were backing a rebellion against the Congo's President, Laurent Kabila. In reality, just as Saddam Hussein went after the oil in Kuwait, Mugabe had his eye on the Congo's riches."

Biden is a recession away from our next war.

8. Ignore a deadly enemy.

In Mugabe's case, it was HIV. In Biden's case, it is Red China.

The last two steps await us. They are 9. Commit genocide, and 10. Blame the imperialists.

Samantha Power lightly touched on Mugabe's race politics. She made a big deal that 200,000 white people were prosperous and 4 million black people were not when the country was Rhodesia.

As Zimbabwe, everyone is miserable.

She also left out the role of inflation in killing the nation. Bidenflation is paramount in turning the USA into Zimbabwe.

Or Venezuela.

Or Cuba.

All of them were prosperous nations that communists turned into hellholes because it is better to them to rule a hellhole than to live in a prosperous nation where people are free.

    2. I hadn't seen that either. I'm just having my eyes opened to how long they've been working on this. Didn't care about politics til 2015. Wish I had paid attention sooner

    3. MichMom... consider yourself blessed. I've been a rabid political follower since Reagan and all it does is causes stress. There's almost NOTHING we can do about the crap our politicians do to us and our Country. So I read this site and maybe two others, turned off talk radio and listen to music and work on my golf game. Its just too depressing

    4. T.O. - depressing, yep. Hopeless no. Hell, parents in bright blue suburban DC are finding their backbone. It only requires holding local politicians to account and building from there. Take over your school boards, or help parents who are looking to restore sanity there. It will take determined consistent action. But it can be done.

  5. With regard to #1. Destroying the engine of productivity began long ago. The "labor cost" thing is a Chamber of Commerce talking point, but in reality, the cost advantage overseas rests principally in "not"-labor costs: EPA regs, SocSec, health-care burden, tax burden (local, State, Fed), OSHA, and FLSA.

We can agree that FLSA, along with health benefits, (etc) are all "good" things. But there is NOTHING comparable in any Far East country, and only vague shadows of those costs in Mexico.

Summary: if you want First World standards, you'll PAY for First World standards. Chamber of Commerce didn't want to pay for them and Wally World has sanctified "costs less."

    1. China has overplayed their hand, and more and more businesses are realizing the CoC model has some holes. Biden hasn't even taken Trump's tariffs off.

    2. I'd be shocked if he would. On the economic front DC is more in lock step with Trump than we realize. Biden's trade rep is a Taiwanese lawyer who is just busy suing China over all their trade violations.

Yes, China is dabbling in our media and playing games in our elections, and buying off the Biden's - but they aren't getting any economic benefit. Which means they want something else from him.

    3. "DC is more...Trump..."

Since when? Trump!! Clinton and Bush certainly didn't oppose PRC absorption of US jobs, nor of vital supplies being made there.

Obama, IIRC, was a cipher on the trade issue.

  6. Great column. One key point that needs to be said.

We should be thankful that if America is going to be terribly governed by an illegitimate Democrat President; Americans are lucky that Biden is the illegitimate Democrat President. Regardless of what Don says, Biden is a clinical dementia patient.

The reality is that any Democrat President would be doing exactly the same things; if not worse, than what is being done now under illegitimate President Pantload.

Fact is, things would be even worse if a mentally competent (as opposed to an mentally incompetent & physically incontinent) person was the illegitimate Democrat President of the USA.

  7. Forgot something earlier. The cost of lawyers and accountants here is NOT pocket change.

But I suppose in other places, small lawyers and accountant costs are offset by bribes--until you consider the cost of purchasing Congressmen here.

  9. Remember Samantha Power is the "A Team" of the "Varsity Squad" for "The Adults In The Room". She's the one they sent down clean up Kamala's mess down in Mexico. You know, right before Amlo let his freak flag fly for communist Cuba last week.

  10. And Trump showed how you can stop that in a few years.

What we must do is expect and require action on a few items:

    1. Force state politicians to take a very strict reading of the 10th Amendment. DeSantis is showing how this can be done. Legislatures and governors who will not do this must be defeated.
    2. The next GOP president must fire almost everyone they can from every agency. And then he or she must use every lever in their power to reduce the reach and scope of the Depts of Energy, Education, and the EPA. They must completely remake Dept of State and Justice. And they must treat CRT as the violation it is and be as heavy handed on jurisdictions and companies who teach it as we did those who supported segregation. Put some high flying CEOs behind bars and allow civil suits to be brought against them personally as well as their companies.
    3. Work hard to put integrity into the voting processes everywhere. Red States - you can fix the blue cities if you mean it.

    1. BJEM, that's a great start, but let's beef it up to make it even more effective! :-)

      1) Governors can also avoid becoming bogged down in abstract disputes that really are political/philosophical differences-of-opinion... by concentrating on nixing unconstitutional stuff from DC; general legislation can be argued over and the ability of the federal legislature to legislate can be argued... but the legislature CANNOT override the Constitution; SCOTUS is supposed to handle this, but, well, you know. So it's up to the governors to deal with this - and I strongly recommend the regular, repetitive use of the lawyerly phrase "plain-and-ordinary meaning" - the Constitution is written to be readily-comprehensible via plain-and-ordinary meaning, and nixing federal diktats on that ground is not only acceptable - it is required. Governors are on solid ground here. Use it.

2 - Even better would be to do this as *successful* turnarounds are done in the business world. Besides bringing in true outsiders to do this (as they don't have crony-loyalty issues that socially-preclude them from acting effectively), the simple method is to FIRE EVERYONE. Literally. After that, anyone who is interested can apply for re-employment. First, set what things should look like after the firing-and-rehiring - then rehire only to fill the new structure. Trust me, it's easier to vet people when they are trying to get IN rather than when you trying to figure out who to push OUT.

3 - Keep pushing that one. Remember, things like requiring ID and proof of citizenship to get on voting rolls AND then to actually vote are wildly popular across all demographics. Just keep doing it. The rigged jurisdictions can't run anything anymore, and so they have to be quarantined (!) and then ground into submission. William Tecumseh Sherman would approve.
