Highlights of the News

Today is Thursday, September 23rd.

ITEM 1: Fox reported, "The White House said it strongly opposes a provision in the 2022 defense spending bill that would block the Pentagon from dishonorably discharging a service member who refuses to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

"A section in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act would limit military commanders' options for disciplining those who fail to comply with the vaccination mandate, the White House Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of administration policy Wednesday."

This is a big deal because a dishonorable discharge abridges one's rights. For example, under the Gun Control Act of 1968, a dishonorable discharge voids your right to buy a gun.

The White House said, "To enable a uniformed force to fight with discipline, commanders must have the ability to give orders and take appropriate disciplinary measures."

Apply that to Marky Mark Milley.

(UPDATE: Fox is blocking its link, so hit it, then copy the URL and paste it and it should work. I have no idea why Fox does this. I may stop linking it.)

ITEM 2: Yahoo reported, "Black Lives Matter activists have turned on New York City's leadership over what they claim are racist covid 19 vaccine requirements.

"Mayor Bill De Blasio has aggressively pushed a vaccine passport system that bars entry to restaurants, gyms, and other public places without proof of covid 19 inoculation. But with black residents lagging the overall population in vaccinations, the rules are disproportionately affecting a minority group usually in step with Democratic policies. The schism came to a head on Monday, when Black Lives Matter of Greater New York launched a protest outside a restaurant where enforcement of the policy sparked a melee.

"Hawk Newsome is a black activist and co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York — one of the many prominent Black Lives Matter organizations outside the hierarchy of the Black Lives Matter Global Network. He founded the group with his sister, Chivona Newsome. Both siblings spoke at the Monday protest, where Hawk accused the city of using vaccination requirements to run cover for its racist ways and discrimination."

Maybe BLM should go to Congress with their protest.

It would be an interesting problem for Washington. Would it be a mostly peaceful protest or an insurrection?

ITEM 3: The Western Journal reported, "In communities across the country, failing grades have skyrocketed and mental health has suffered as many schools remained closed for much of the past year and a half.

"In Baltimore alone, 41% of high school students averaged less than a 1.0 GPA during the 2020-2021 school year.

"In one public school in the city, a high school student was ranked near the top half of his class with a 0.13 GPA. All of this happened despite the fact that the district spent $18,000 per student, 40% more than the national average."

40% more.

Money ruins everything.

ITEM 4: Buzz Feed News reported, "Federal prosecutors on Tuesday released a new collection of Capitol surveillance videos from Jan. 6 after a judge ordered them to do so, rejecting the government’s argument that making the clips public could threaten the security of the complex.

"The disclosure marks a setback for the US Capitol Police and the US attorney’s office in their efforts to control how much footage from the Capitol’s closed-circuit video (CCV) system gets out. In the latest case, prosecutors argued that revealing the location and vantage points of more cameras could help bad actors trying to plan some future assault on the building. A judge concluded that argument was too speculative, however, and that the public had a strong interest in seeing videos that formed the basis for a recent plea deal.

"US District Chief Judge Beryl Howell ordered the videos released in response to a request from a media coalition (including BuzzFeed News) that is petitioning judges on a rolling basis for videos that prosecutors have relied on in Jan. 6 cases. Howell’s decision isn’t binding on other judges in the US District Court for the District of Columbia presiding over Capitol riot prosecutions, but it gives the media coalition a favorable ruling to point to in future fights."

Obama judge.

Is she a blind squirrel finding a nut, or is there an ulterior motive?

ITEM 5: Looking at this video of people milling around, I finally understand why all the Democrats and RINOs called this an insurrection.

All of Congress must have been tripping on acid. That's the only explanation I have for the mass paranoia.

ITEM 6: Meanwhile, in real insurrection news, DOJ announced on June 24, "A Reno man today pleaded guilty to damaging the Bruce R. Thompson Federal Courthouse in the late evening of May 30, 2020, following a protest relating to the May 25, 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

"According to court documents and admissions made in court, Keith Moreno, 28, threw a cigarette receptacle (weighing about 23 pounds) and a rock through the first floor windows near the front entrance of the courthouse. Moreno broke at least one of the courthouse windows."

Instead of 10 years in prison, he got 5 years probation.

Good thing he wasn't milling around.

ITEM 7: The New York Post reported, "Members of the White House press corps protested to press secretary Jen Psaki Tuesday after President Biden declined to take questions during the public portion of his sitdown with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson — instead allowing White House handlers to escort the press out even after Johnson showed up Biden by calling on two British reporters."

Waah.

Bet they miss Trump now. He answered all their questions all the livelong day.

And what good did it do him?

Biden does not play that. Good for him.

ITEM 8: Democrat loons mistook reins on a horse for a whip in a photo, and hysterically claim border patrol personnel were whipping Haitians.

Maxine Waters said, "We are following the Trump policy. He is the one that does not follow the Constitution, and would not allow those seeking refuge to be able to petition to get into the country. What the hell are we doing here? What we witnessed takes us back hundreds of years. What we witnessed was worse than what we witnessed in slavery. Cowboys with their reins, again, whipping Black people – Haitians – into the water where they’re scrambling and falling down. All they’re trying to do is escape from violence in their country."

Worse than slavery?

And how dare she blame Donald Trump for this imaginary whipping?

She is a leader in the party of whips and chains and slavery. Republicans formed their party to abolish slavery.

ITEM 9: Hamas-Shielding AP reported, "Leaders who are playing at unity and stuffing pressing problems into an overflowing bag of woe. A world that’s in the same boat, but first-class passengers get the lifeboats. A United Nations that resembles 'a retired superhero' that has lost sight of what it used to be.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy certainly wasn’t the only world leader at this week’s U.N. General Assembly meeting to paint a dire picture of international relations. But the former actor and comedian may well have painted the most colorful one.

"In a speech Wednesday, he called out failures in areas from sharing coronavirus vaccines to halting climate change to turning back Russia’s annexation of part of his country. He floated a proposal for the U.N. to head to global hotspots to hold its meetings — and offered to host one."

Just a reminder but most of the first-class passengers aboard the Titanic went down with the ship.

In many ways, the world was better a century ago.

ITEM 10: Reuters reported, "A Florida Republican lawmaker has filed a bill that would ban abortions after six to eight weeks and allow members of the community to sue doctors for terminating pregnancies in what may be the first effort to mirror a similar new law in Texas.

"The bill by state Representative Webster Barnaby would ban abortions after regular cardiac contractions are detected in an embryo, known as a fetal heartbeat even though the heart has not yet developed, about six to eight weeks into pregnancy. That is before many women know they are pregnant."

Why with all the modern birth control and pregnancy tests (some that come before the first missed period) are we bothering with such a barbaric practice?

I get that birth control is not perfect, but when 18% of pregnancies end in an abortion, something is just not right.

ITEM 11: Newsweek reported, "Less than two years before the COVID-19 pandemic began, scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology planned to genetically alter viruses to make them more infectious for humans and release them into bat caves.

"The research proposal was part of a trove of documents released this week by a group of scientists and activists who are trying to determine the origins of the pandemic, which has killed 4.7 million people around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University.

"The Wuhan scientists were listed as partners on a funding proposal the environmental health nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance made to the U.S. government’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

"DARPA rejected the proposal and it is not clear what happened to the research project, which the documents described as having a good running start."

There is no doubt now that covid 19 was an attempt at biological warfare by Red China to spread communism around the world.

It worked because rare is the country that has not clamped down on the liberty of individuals in the name of public health.

ITEM 12: Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in 1993, “The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman's life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When the government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a full adult human responsible for her own choices.”

The ACLU just changed that to, "The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a [person's] life, to [their] well-being and dignity… When the government controls that decision for [people], [they are] being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for [their] own choices."

In a few years the left will discredit her entire life because she was a TERF.

And a white one at that.

ITEM 13: The occasionally useful National Review reported, "After Mandating Masks Outdoors, Oregon’s Active Covid-19 Cases Increased 73%."

I notice that every time government ignores the Constitution, the government screws up.

ITEM 14: We have found the cure for covid.

The cure is simple. We pack everyone into a football stadium on Saturday and chant FUCK JOE BIDEN five times.

Hey, it works as well as social distancing and cloth masks.

ITEM 15: The Epoch Times reported, "Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday sued his niece and the New York Times over a story about his taxes.

"Trump’s attorneys say the defendants, Mary Trump and three New York Times journalists, collectively engaged in an insidious plot to obtain confidential records.

"'The brazenness of the defendants’ actions cannot be understated. A group of journalists with the New York Times, in the middle of an extensive crusade to obtain Donald J. Trump’s confidential tax records, relentlessly sought out his niece, Mary L. Trump, and convinced her to smuggle the records out of her attorney’s office and turn them over to The Times. All the while, the parties knew full well that their actions were wrongful, as evidenced by their insistence on communicating through ‘burner’ phones and The Times initial claims that the records were obtained from an ‘anonymous’ source,' the 26-page suit, filed the New York state court, said.

"'The Times attempted to capitalize on their receipt of the confidential record through their publication of various news articles; Mary L. Trump eventually followed suit and, in an ill-conceived effort to profit from these same events, published a book revealing her as the source of the unauthorized disclosure and providing a detailed account of the defendants’ wrongful conduct,' the suit added.

"Mary Trump entered into a settlement agreement in 2001 that said, in part, that she could not disclose records she obtained in a family legal battle."

Mary Trump is the relative from hell.

  1. With every day that passes, these days, this ol West Virginia boy is more and more grateful for the SHEER FOOKING BRILLIANCE of our Founding Fathers. They understood - CLEAR AS A FOOKING BELL - that a system of government ABSOLUTELY MUST be crafted in a way to maximize individual liberty and decentralize government power wherever possible. Especially w/r/t the right to bear arms. THOSE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS!

    2. Don't forget something that unfortunately always seems to be ignored - the Founding Fathers were not only well-educated, but also well-read; they had read Plutarch and Polybius (and others), and used them effectively (e.g., George Washington explicitly reused Quintus Fabius Maximus' strategy that worked against Hannibal to fight and win the Revolutionary War). If you've never read Polybius, at least read his Introduction - where he talks about how the classical Greek city-states were locked into a cycle of good kingship becoming bad tyranny, to be replaced by a good aristocracy that became a bad oligarchy, to be replaced by a good democracy that became a bad mob-rule, to be replaced by a good kingship... Writing to explain Roman success to his fellow Greeks, he noted that the Romans had created a stable-and strong republic by blending together the best features of kingship, aristocracy, and democracy. Ever wondered where the Founding Fathers got their ideas for a three-branched federal government? There it is.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.

"From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising them the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.“ — A Tytler, 1787

  19. ITEM 5: Understanding why the Congressional whores are worked up about 1/6/21 is simple. In general, the vast majority can’t stand the law-abiding, hard-working Americans they were elected to represent.

    1. It was an obvious set-up - their version of the Reichstag fire.

I can't help but continue to notice that the "insurrection" happened just as Congressman Jordan and others were just about to introduce evidence of election fraud into the proceedings and into the record - and the "insurrection" conveniently interrupted the proceedings, and then later the usual suspects had an excuse to not talk about that but instead claim there had been an "insurrection."

      Delete
    2. Absolutely true. The media and Big Tech had been tightly censoring any evidence of the electoral fraud, and the speeches in Congress on Jan. 6th by Trump-supporting Senators and Congressmen were going to finally be Trump's opportunity to get somewhat around the censors and present the evidence of electoral fraud.
The Dems were desperate to not have Americans hear this, so they went hysterical in pushing this phony insurrection stuff.

The real Insurrection was the Marxist coup that occurred Nov. 20th and was cemented by Congress on Jan. 6th. And it was another horrible example of the Democrats accusing Republicans of the very thing the Democrats
      themselves were actually doing.

  20. 2 - We need to work this. If black Americans come back to their original home party (which it was, 1865 - 1932), the donks are screwed. And I have no doubt that many regular folks who were BLM supporters last year are peeved about how the "leadership" basically used the whole thing to become multimillionaires and buy mansions, and have learned a lesson. Let's make some alliances.

3 - What fraction of spending per pupil has been going to "administration?" That's probably been growing at a double-digit rate for a long time. Honestly, when you look into civilizational collapses, you can't help but notice that the growth of an overpaid administrative class is what causes the social divisions that cause a society to fracture. (We don't have too many rich people. We *do* have too many "administrators.")

4 - "Is she a blind squirrel finding a nut, or is there an ulterior motive?" More like she has figured out which way the wind is now blowing...

9 - "He floated a proposal for the U.N. to head to global hotspots to hold its meetings — and offered to host one." Good on Mr. Zelenskyy (a real Ukrainian patriot - the crooks who paid off snorty are just crooks) for making that suggestion. Take the UN on the road and let them deal with reality. If they won't, defund them.

11 - My suspicion at this point (based on the evidence we've been able to get) is that the chicoms were working on a bioweapons program, and conned people like "dr." fauci into funding it on the grounds that "gain of function" research would be useful for getting ahead of future virus mutations, and that the faucists were doing this in China because standards are lax there (not allowed in the US because it's too dangerous, but okay in China). The release wasn't intentional (given how poor security is at WIV, what happened isn't a surprise), but once it was out and on the loose, Chairman Xi made sure to make the best use of it for his own interests...

I don't have the exact number but it's relatively small and not the full 600+ that were charged. I assumed (yeah I know) that because all the conservative sites were so up in arms about those being held that the number was huge in comparison with Antifa or BLM for their riots.

No. Many of them were given bail at their home area and will slowly wend their way thru the system. Not that it's not a travesty for them to be even charged given the actual amount of "rioting" that went on compared to the usual stuff that happens.

  33. Even with the ACLU's statement no one mentions the loss of reproductive control by men. This is one of the lesser considered problems with Roe. It devolved all of the reproductive decisions on the woman yet made the man responsible financially regardless of the life changing effects it might have. All this concern about a woman's right to choose and not a word about a man's choice. But they certainly make sure that if they can find a man to blame they will exact every penny and more.

Sure men should be responsible for the creation of a child but there's a disparity between who decides and who pays for the decision that looms large. Remove the penalty of paying unless agreed to by the man and much of the concern about Roe would disappear. Frankly it should go the other way and the Texas law is a clever way to go about this. I don't know how the decision of who can sue in this law but I would guess a lot of men will be suing for their right to be a part of the choice. If the Left were to address that, again the fight against Roe would taper off. But too many egos are involved plus the practical matter of the females not having the finances to support the decisions they make. Something that needs to be addressed in general.
