Highlights of the News

ITEM 1: The Border Patrol shows more compassion than any of its critics.

The patrol is staffed mostly by Hispanics.

Biden banned horses after a misinterpreted photo upset Maxine Waters.

ITEM 2: San Diego banned ghost guns last week.

That makes sense. Why should ghosts have guns? Just pry the guns from the ghost's cold, dead hands. They would have wanted it that way.

ITEM 3: The Verge reported, "Tim Cook says employees who leak memos do not belong at Apple, according to leaked memo."

Our tech overlords are men weak of spirit, weak of muscle, and weak of brain.

ITEM 4: Reuters reported, "Britain warned its food producers on Wednesday to prepare for a 400% rise in carbon dioxide prices after extending emergency state support to avert a shortage of poultry and meat triggered by soaring costs of wholesale natural gas.

"Natural gas prices have spiked this year as economies reopened from covid 19 lockdowns and high demand for liquefied natural gas in Asia pushed down supplies to Europe, sending shockwaves through industries reliant on the energy source.

"Carbon dioxide is a by-product of the fertilizer industry -- Britain's main source of CO2 -- where natural gas is the biggest input cost. Industrial gas companies, including Linde, Air Liquide and Air Products and Chemicals, get their CO2 mainly from fertilizer plants."

So they are saying that without carbon dioxide from fossil fuels, we all die.

ITEM 5: Hawaii News Now reported, "South Korean President Moon Jae-In and First Lady Kim Jung-Sook were on Oahu Wednesday to honor fallen servicemembers.

"They attended the first-ever joint repatriation ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in the afternoon.

"There, the remains of 68 Republic of Korea soldiers and 6 U.S. service members who died during the Korean War were returned."

Where was Biden?

ITEM 6: We Got This Covered reported, "Marvel Studios May Drop The ‘Men’ From X-Men."

So Wolverine and Beast will become Ex-X-Men.

Thanks to PC, most of the X-Men are female.

Have at it. I outgrew comic books when I was 12, which was a very long time ago.

ITEM 7: The New York Post reported, "Republicans say a new non-partisan report indicates President Joe Biden improperly avoided paying Medicare taxes before he took office — raising eyebrows and the possibility that he owes the IRS as much as $500,000 in back taxes."

Everything they falsely accused President Donald John Trump of -- incompetence, flying off the handle, having kids make money off his presidency, and not paying taxes -- Biden is actually doing.

ITEM 8: Trending Politics reported, "According to a new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, former President Donald Trump obliterates President Joe Biden in a 2024 rematch by a margin of 51% to 41%."

Oddly, that 10-point margin is what he would have won by if Democrats had not stuffed the ballots last November.

ITEM 9Washington Times reported, "FBI data is expected to show murders in the U.S. increased by nearly 30% in 2020—the highest annual spike in at least 60 years, according to news reports. The agency’s Uniform Crime Report is set to be released Monday, but preliminary data temporarily uploaded to the FBI website showed murders last year went up nearly 29% compared to 2019, The New York Times reported on Wednesday."

But they are mostly peaceful murders.

The reality is much of this is young black men killing other young black men. Black lives don't matter to the liberals who run the cities where this occurs.

ITEM 10: The Daily Mail reported, "AOC bursts into tears as Iron Dome's $1bn funding is OVERWHELMINGLY approved in House 420-9: Rashida Tlaib is accused of anti-Semitism by fellow Dem after she called Israel a 'violent apartheid system.'"

Yes, there is your strong woman that conservatives cannot handle crying like a baby because she didn't get her way.

I won't even go into Democrat Congresswoman Yassar Arafat Tlaib's word salad.

ITEM 11: The New York Post, "Gorillas shock onlookers with oral sex show at Bronx Zoo in hilarious video."

Ah New York under Democrats. Even the Bronx Zoo is now rated X.

ITEM 12: Axios reported, "Federal law enforcement agencies are purchasing surveillance drones from a Chinese company the Pentagon has deemed a potential national security threat, Axios has learned."

Well, it is not as if Xi is going to use the drones to spy on Biden.

That's what Blabbermouth Milley is for.

ITEM 13: Stars and Stripes reported, "An effort to pass legislation that would allow the construction of a Global War on Terrorism Memorial on the National Mall was blocked out of concern that its passage would create a bad precedent for any future memorials.

"Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, asked on the Senate floor Monday evening that her colleagues approve the bill under unanimous consent, meaning the chamber could pass the legislation unless someone stood to object.

"Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., blocked the vote.

"The bill seeks to exempt the Global War on Terrorism Memorial from a 2003 law that prohibits any more development on the National Mall in Washington, D.C."

I really hate to say this, but Manchin is right.

ITEM 14: The New York Post reported, "Hunter Biden’s business contacts touted his access to his father, 'State, Treasury,' his relationship with then-Secretary of State John Kerry’s stepson, as well as his ties to the 'highest level' in China, as they weighed whether to work with him on a potential Libya deal in 2015, newly uncovered emails show.

"The two emails — published by Insider on Thursday — date back to 2015, when Joe Biden was vice president, and reference getting Hunter’s help on a deal regarding billions in Libyan assets frozen by the Obama administration.

"The emails are unrelated to Hunter’s infamous laptop.

"In the first email, dated Jan. 28, 2015, Democratic donor Sam Jauhari repeatedly referred to Hunter as “#2 son” — an apparent reference to Joe Biden’s VP role at the time — and noted that Hunter had requested a $2 million retainer."

Think of the Bidens as the Mafia with Fredo in charge.

RICO this administration.

ITEM 15: Elkhorn Media Group reported, "The Baker County Board of Commissioners declared a local emergency Wednesday. The declaration states the Baker County Incident Management Team determined beginning October 18, Baker  County will be unable to provide for pre-hospital emergency response and Saint Alphonsus  Medical Center will be unable to provide basic hospital care as a result of staffing shortages  when the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for medical staff goes into effect.

"The declaration requested the Governor address the state’s vaccine mandates, 'to prevent  further erosion of the vital public health and safety workforce,' or provide resources necessary to protect the citizens and visitors of Baker County, along with users of the state highway system."

Everything the government does in this pandemic seems to do more harm than good.

ITEM 16: Glenn Reynolds fleshed out a line he used at Instapundit into a full-blown column.

He began, "Ron DeSantis has been doing a lot as governor of Florida. But there’s one job that hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves: In many ways, DeSantis is serving as America’s shadow president."

Good read.

ITEM 17: The Hill reported, "Democrats are confronting an increasingly bleak outlook in Florida ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

"The list of concerns is long. The latest voter registration numbers out of Florida show Democrats’ long-held voter registration advantage over Republicans shrinking to less than 24,000, down from about 100,000 at the beginning of the year."

Democrats had a 700,000 voter lead when Obama won in 2008.

FINALLY, it is an improvement for both of them.

Liz is the Republican Hunter Biden but without the hookers and blow.

  5. 7 - if he avoided paying Medicare taxes, he also avoided paying the social security taxes as well. An employer pays double, so Xiden avoided paying over 15% in payroll taxes for the first $137,000 earned each year, and 2.9% on the rest.

I don’t believe the $500k number as there would still be expenses related to running the S-Corp that would reduce what could be claimed as salary. I had an S-Corp until I retired. I took very little in W-2 salary each year - less than 10k. The rest (after all expenses) was a draw to my wife (the owner) that was exempt from payroll taxes. My Social Security check is less because of this, but we won out in the long run by investing the funds not paid to the SSA instead of paying it to them. All legal.

Even though I side with Xiden on this issue, FUCK JOE XIDEN.

    - Currently, the FICA tax is 7.65 percent of your gross taxable income for both the employee and the employer. The Social Security rate is 6.2 percent, up to an income limit of $137,000 and the Medicare rate is 1.45 percent, regardless of the amount of income earned. Your employer pays a matching FICA tax. This means that the total FICA paid on your earnings is 12.4 percent for Social Security, up to the earnings limit of $137,000 and 2.90 percent regardless of the total amount you have earned.

    2. The theory is good… Show everyone just what they get when they vote Democrat. It worked when Jimmy Carter was President. Gas lines, stagflation, misery index, American hostages in Iran… People couldn’t wait to vote for Reagan.

But it’s different this time. Biden is destroying America so rapidly, there may not be enough of our country left to rebuild after he’s gone. Millions of poor, uneducated, non-English-speaking immigrants that we’ll never get rid of; massive debt that we’ll never pay off; new entitlements that will continue in perpetuity; nukes in Iran and North Korea; a weak, atrophied military; the absorption of Taiwan and possibly Hong Kong by communist China… America’s destruction will be so massive that Trump’s return will not be able to save us; only Jesus’ return will.

That being said, a second Trump term (God willing) will have to hit the ground running, be extremely aggressive, and take no prisoners, so to speak. His choice of VP will be vital to ensure 12 years of policies and cleansing sufficient to MAGA. Likely I will not live long enough to see it, but I owe it to my offspring to at least try. Let's get together and review our notes in January 2025 on the National Mall, eh?

    5. Which is why I am not sure Trump can do it. The next person must be ruthless on personnel matters - asking for the resignations of every US Attorney. Gutting all appointed levels at State, Justice, DOD, and their various departments (FBI, CIA, EPA, etc.). Then they must to the extent they can gut certain cabinets - energy, education, HUD, HHS, Homeland Security and funnel their important functions to other departments, while leaving these as shells until you can convince Congress to actually eliminate the places.

Trump does not have the ability to do that, and will drive so much interference from the dems and media linked to his personality that he will be stuck again.

      Let him play kingmaker.

  12. #15 - St Alphonsus doth protest too much. Back in July they instituted their own vaccine mandate for employees here in ID and "encouraged" it in OR (because OR law prohibits them from mandating it). But here in ID they aren't firing unvaxxed employees yet, because they would be severely understaffed. So they are now complaining that Brown's mandate in OR is not allowing them to violate their own policy? Sheesh!

  13. #1. Those horses were an important tool for the Border Patrol. Many areas that the invaders go in to are accessible only on foot or by horse. Many become stranded simply because of the severity of the terrain and then run low on food, water and sometimes get injured.
The BP agents can get to them on horseback and bring water and food, and when necessary, load one or two of them on the horse to get them to a hospital.
That heavy lifting will now have to be done via helicopter, or left undone.
A man on horseback moves at 3-5 mph and has time to observe. The horse is watching the trail. For a chopper, they clip along at highway speed or faster. They are great for covering a lot of open ground, not so much in searching gullies and rough terrain.

The 33 bed local hospital was full of covid patients so she was transported to Geary county where they had one bed left. Don't let reports like that fool you. The hospital that shipped her had only nine patients in house. They had six beds allocated for covid. Geary county was 70% empty, but eight of their nine available covid beds were taken.
