Boston mayor says vax passports are like slavery

Democrat Mayor Kim Janey of Boston called out Mayor DeBlasio of NYC by saying vaccine passports will hurt black people and other minorities the hardest. She even invoked slavery in denouncing mandated passports.

Janey told reporters, "There’s a long history in this country of people needing to show their papers. During slavery, post-slavery, as recent as what immigrant population has to go through here — we heard Trump with the birth certificate nonsense. Here we want to make sure that we are not doing anything that would further create a barrier for residents of Boston or disproportionally impact BIPOC communities."

BIPOC is the new acronym that replaces people of color which replaced colored people.

The appointment of Mayor Marty Walsh as labor secretary elevated her from city council president to mayor. She has the endorsement of the SEIU and other socialist groups in her bid to win this year's mayoral election.

Vaccine passports are permission from the government to engage in commerce.

Her bashing of vaccine passports comes from the left, and it exposes the fact that black people and Hispanics are more likely to be unvaccinated than Asian or white people.

City council members, though, want the passports, which forced her to clarify her remarks because Lord knows we cannot have socialist leaders thinking for themselves.

In a tweet clarifying her position, she put it delicately. She stated, ".Earlier today, I pointed out several hurdles facing communities of color with lower vaccination rates. These hurdles should not be excuses, but we must consider our shared history as we work to ensure an equitable public health and economic recovery."

See? It isn't a refusal to get vaccinated. No, no, no. It is a hurdle.

And she backtracked in a follow-up tweet, "While there are no current plans for business sector vaccination mandates, we are using data to inform targeted public health strategies. This includes meeting with restaurants and bars to discuss overlaps between their clientele and new covid 19 case trends."

Someone in the socialist empire needs to take Janey aside and explain to her that no one will dare check the papers of anyone except white people and maybe some Asians. My guess is that is the De Blasio Plan. They will demand papers of only some people. Police in big cities cannot seem to enforce the ban on shooting and killing people in certain neighborhoods. How are they going to enforce this?

I mean we have illegal aliens overrunning our borders because no one is checking their papers.

But it was good for Janey to point out -- for one brief shining moment -- the history of this facet of fascism.

  1. She doesn't know her history (but then when did it ever matter to Lefties? they make it up as they go along).

    She confuses us with all those Lefty paradises like Russia, Cuba, Red China, and North Vietnam. People never had to show their papers here because we had none.

    But slavery gets a bigger rise out of blacks.

    PS Please quit calling it Fascism. As you yourself once observed, the only difference between Fascists/National Socialists/Phalangists and Communists are national socialists and international socialists.

      Like Hitchcock's "Strangers", the Occupation Government and Big Tech are swapping crimes. "Criss-cross".

      Big Tech does the Political Censorship that is forbidden to the Regime, and the Regime looks the other way while Big Tech engages in monopoly, commits business fraud, spies on Americans and cuddles up to dictatorships--other dictatorships, I mean.

      The leftist mayor mangled her history, but her larger point about tyranny was correct. Which is why her Party made her recant.

  8. When ever the Gov't wants some action or policy to take effect but is afraid of the reaction and can't be seen as the prime mover, they get business to do the actual work.

    They did it for withholding, they did it for racial quotas, They've done it for a number of things that usually will take the rights of someone and bless the rights of someone else.

    As Don said it will be white folks, some asians who will get stopped but I bet everyone gets checked at certain venues because they can do it in small numbers and quickly so a line doesn't build. That's the breaking point when people get held up by a line checking peoples papers then people get angry. Still Americans have shown they have not reached any point yet where they're willing to stand up to those who will do much worse if they're not stopped now.

  12. Back during the days of slavery there were freemen; free blacks. They had to have proof of their freeman status, so on that, IMO, she was right. And if I am correct, the vaxxed vs not vaxxed argument should be colored with this history.
