AP and Reuters will help Twitter censor conservatives

Two major wire services agreed to serve as a cover for Twitter censorship of conservatives and other dissidents.

At least three outlets ran separate stories with about the same headline, spinning this as a battle for the truth when the opposite is true.

Just the News played it straight. It reported, "Twitter enlists Associated Press for fact-checking help despite record of journalistic flubs."

Its story by Daniel Payne said, "Twitter this week announced the rollout of a new fact-checking initiative that will rely in part on a major news organization that regularly published reports on the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion theory and other disproven attacks on the Trump administration.

"The social media company said in an announcement on Monday that it had enlisted both The Associated Press and Reuters 'to expand our efforts to identify and elevate credible information on Twitter.'

"'Through this program, Twitter's Curation team will increase our capacity to add reliable context to conversations happening on Twitter,' the company said.

"Twitter added that the companies would work at 'ensuring that credible information is available in real time around key conversations as they emerge on Twitter, especially where facts are in dispute or when Twitter's Curation team doesn't have the specific expertise or access to a high enough volume of reputable reporting on Twitter.'"

Twitter is paying AP and Reuters to provide cover for its censorship.

The media are falling in line. No one wants to piss off Twitter. They do not want to be censored. Indeed, they long to be paid by Twitter, too.

The Hill ran, "Twitter partners with AP, Reuters to fight misinformation" by Rebecca Klar.

Tech Crunch said, "Twitter partners with AP, Reuters to fight misinformation" by Sarah Perez

Mashable said, "Twitter partners with Reuters and AP to target misinformation on the site" by Amanda Yeo.

This is not everyone running an AP story with the same headline. This is conformity. This is falling in line with the official version on the level of North Koreans rending their clothes when the dictator dies to avoid labor camp.

The headlines were as creepy as all those Democrat medical people who tweeted a picture of themselves in scrubs with the same message of working in ER at a hospital overrun by covid patients, most of whom are unvaccinated.

AP told readers it never happened.

It said, "An image circulating on Twitter and Facebook claims to reveal a sinister network of bots who copied and pasted the same fake message at the same time in an attempt at COVID-19 fearmongering.

"In reality, it shows an authentic warning from an emergency room doctor that was transformed into a meme over the course of a week after Twitter users copied and pasted his words to discredit his message and breed confusion.

"It all started on July 22, when Dr. Sam Ghali, a licensed emergency medicine physician in Jacksonville, Florida, posted a tweet about how the delta variant of the coronavirus was affecting his hospital."

Oh?

Explain this from a Democrat running for Congress.

The fakes were satires.

The copies by Debby Burnett and other Democrats were propaganda.

AP fact-checked the satire, but never checked to see if those hospitals were overrun -- or if the doctors were veterinarians.

It was an audition.

AP passed.

Twitter signed with AP and Reuters to keep the truth off social media.

AP shielded Hamas in Gaza City. Now it shields Twitter.

  1. Great post, DS. The bad guys do what they do because they think they can get away with it. Goes with bank robbers and murderers.

  9. Since the Biden admin shows that Supreme Court stuff means nothing (e.g. moratorium on evictions), a new administration can just send in the ATF, FBI, IRS, RSVP, LSMFT into Twitter facilities and seize their server farms, headquarters building and facilities, arrest senior and executive staff.
Then, after it's all done, they can recognize the court rulings and injunctions, say "oops, my bad," and revel in their qualified immunity.
Then, the following day, do the same with Facebook.
    Wash, rinse, repeat.
