So woke, people turned down $300,000 to run it

All three finalists for the job of president of Evergreen State College in Washington state quit the process on Wednesday. The job pays $300,000 a year. No one wants to put up with the noise because Evergreen is the most woke college in America.

In January 2020, the Wall Street Journal ran an editorial blasting the college for turning itself over to a mob of know-nothing activists.

The Journal wrote, "The school’s negative notoriety dates to spring 2017, when students and staff requested that white people, including students, stay away from campus during a Day of Absence. Biology professor Bret Weinstein objected, writing in an email that 'on a college campus, one’s right to speak—or to be—must never be based on skin color.' Administrators then stood by as student censors accused Mr. Weinstein of racism, disrupted his class, occupied the school library, and otherwise ran amok on campus.

"It turns out that students aren’t clamoring for the privilege of paying for an education in such a hostile environment. Evergreen accepts 97% of applications, but enrollment dropped to 2,854 full-time students last fall, compared to 3,810 the semester of the protests. Enrollment increased over the same period at other Washington universities."

Since then, enrollment fell to 2,281, which means enrollment fell nearly in half since the Day of Absence. White students got the hint. Evergreen does not want them, so they are giving the college all the days of absence it wants.

I am also guessing that students of other races realized they are next. 

The Day of Anti-White Racism was under George Bridges, who received more than $300,000 a year to serve as its president. He is leaving the mess he created next month. He took a good (if goofy) liberal arts college and turned it into a pariah.

No one wants to replace him because the mess is so large.

The Chronicle reported, "A year-long process to find the next president of The Evergreen State College came to a shocking conclusion Wednesday when the college’s Board of Trustees emerged from a three-hour meeting and announced that the three finalists for the job had withdrawn their names from consideration.

"Board of Trustees Chairwoman Karen Fraser said all three finalists — Michael Dumont, Catherine Kodat and Lee Lambert — withdrew following recent interviews with faculty, students, staff, and alumni."

They wanted the job until they talked to the faculty, students, staff, and alumni. That tells you all you need to know about Evergreen. 

And of course its board of trustees is headed by a Karen.

Karen said, "We’re still in a state of surprise and disappointment. This is where we are at the moment."

These people are clueless.

Trustee Ed Zuckerman said, "We have some learning to do as a community as to why they withdrew."

The lesson is simple. The college needs to stop pandering to a small, noisy mob of racist radicals.

The way to do that is to name Bret Weinstein president because he is the only person on that campus with the courage to call out racism and to call out the racists who promote it.
