They did not want to be great again

An odd thing happened on the way to making America great again. Nearly half of Americans did not want to be great again. Not out of modesty, but sloth

Gallup announced that 49% of the nation identify as Democrats now (preferred pronoun: mostly peaceful protesters). That is the most in 13 years, when we elected a president who disdained the country and saw nothing exceptional about it.

Under Obama, the nation became subservient to Iran and Red China. The former received $170 billion in cold cash in the dead of night. The latter humiliated him at every turn.

Charles Krauthammer pointed this out in a September 10, 2016 column.

He wrote, "The president of the United States lands with all the majesty of Air Force One, waiting to exit the front door and stride down the rolling staircase to the red-carpeted tarmac. Except that there is no rolling staircase. He is forced to exit — as one China expert put it rather undiplomatically — through the ass of the plane."

That's the servant's door. He's black. The world got it.

And why would Chairman Xi respect a foolish leader who frittered away his nation's power?

The election of Donald John Trump as president under the banner of Make America Great Again should have rallied the nation, but it turned out most Americans don't want to be great. They are lazy physically and intellectually.

As the Romans were. The enemy within brought down Rome.

In America, the enemy within is academia. It is the most powerful institution in the country, because if we spent as much on education as we do on the military, we would have to cut the budgets of schools and universities in half.

The best data I have covers the 2017-2018 budget year. The military spent $619.5 billion that year.

Education spent $1.3 trillion that year.

Colleges and universities spent $604 billion. Public schools (elementary, middle, and high) spent another $694.3 billion.

The military is at best tolerated by most Americans. Education is revered. Rare is the parent who encourages a child to enlist. That parent is almost as rare as the one who tells a child not to go to college.

The enemy within has indoctrinated generations of Americans into believing their country is racist, genocidal, and evil. Critical race theory began in the 1970s when the Ivy League began recruiting black professors. The snowflake is now an avalanche. Everyone who disagrees is a racist, and any law they don't like is Jim Crow.

Anthony Jones, a student at Wyoming Catholic College, wrote a column for USA Today on September 23.

He said, "Anti-Americanism has spread across college campuses like a wildfire, igniting rage and resentment against anything perceived as oppressive — even the American flag. As a result, most universities would likely shy away from a celebration of our nation’s founding in favor of more inclusive events.

"And that’s why university officials have been among the first to lash out at President Donald Trump’s still vague calls for patriotic education in our schools."

We once had patriotism taught in schools.

We now teach the opposite.

And that opposite is the iceberg that may sink the American ship of state.

  1. I can still remember being very young and learning the term CLAMs, congressional left, academia and media. I remember my father using that term.
Our universities have been cesspools for many years. If people resent America that much, my first question is what country is your favorite?
My second question is when are you moving there? I'll help you pack and drive you to the airport.

    5. To the best of my memory, CLAMs was a Col. Jeff Cooper coinage, haven't seen it elsewhere. Whether that's "taught" is for True Scotsmen to decide.

Actually, the border jumpers start to assimilate after a couple of generations and the legal Hispanics never liked it.

    2. Spoken like the clueless, braindead idiot you are. If your theory were true California would be a solid Republican state instead of a leftist hell hole. My Rio Grande Valley in Texas would also be solid Republican.

Get out of here with your stupid takes. You are a contrarian for the sake of it.

      What a dope.

      And find new acronyms dipstick.

      What a clown.

    3. Southern California is a colony of Mexico now.

There are more people from Mexico in the USA now than the entire population of Mexico in 1970. Reconqista is a real thing and is actively taught in Mexican public schools.

If Special Ed were right then California would not have gone Dem in every election from Bush 41’s failed reelection bid to the present.

  4. I'd be leery of using Gallup as a source. Remember how Zippy and Holder went after them?

They're not going to do anything to make the Demos unhappy.

My guess is Demos vs Rs runs about 1 to 2 or 3 minimum. Maybe as much as 6.

    1. Exactly! Personal freedom and personal responsibility go hand in hand. If you want to work and create wealth for yourself, you're free to do so, but it's up to you to get it done. In other words, it's your responsibility to get it done.

Who doesn't want to win the lottery and leap ahead to finish line? It's natural and that's what the Democrats exploit on a smaller scale. Free medical care, subsidized rent, subsidized food, subsidized smart phone, affirmative action, etc. It's a giant bribery scheme. And it undermines the work ethic - big time. It takes a strong character to resist it. Seeing it as a leftist strategy helps push back against it, but their Siren Song is hard for many to resist.

The population of Ancient Rome, that city of a million people, sunk to just 500 or so in the years after its fall.

    1. No, not even close.

Justinian's wars and a couple of earthquakes reduced the city to 100,000, but that belies the continuing importance of the city as the seat of the Catholic Church. Around 800, it numbered about 13,000 people, but a lot of that was the result of the continual infighting of the city's leading families. Once things calmed down and the Renaissance came along, it gradually rose.

Also remember there were several nasty plagues which made urban living unhealthy.

Hell even the high schools in San Fernando went on strike. That bunch of clowns are now in charge of the Democrats , the press , the education system and hence America.

  14. Don, your way out of touch in West Virginia. The anti-American fever may have started in academia but it has taken root in America’s corporate and non-profit boardrooms.

In all honesty, your bragging that you drink Pepsi instead of Coke makes me want to puke because it demonstrates you are so out of touch with reality.

If you did any research at all, you would see that Pepsi is a proud Corporate leader in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives that Corporations across the country are adopting and imposing on their workforces — as demanded by Millennials and other younger generations along with Democrats.

And you want to know why they don’t call it Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity? Because the resulting acronym makes their end goal for their older white male employees a little too obvious.

Just take a look at this: https://pepsico.com/about/diversity-and-engagement/progress-at-pepsico

Now, to be completely honest; I have no problem with diversity, and if companies what to use methods to ensure a diverse workforce which includes valuing people with certain skin tones, genitalia, or gender identities more highly as part of their effort to obtain a more diverse workforce - while avoiding discriminatory practices (arguably hard to do in theory; but not hard in practice when the government supports this type of diversity) - they are going to do it.

They have been doing it, but know they are being more open and bold about doing it.

Don, the ONLY reason Pepsi did not follow Coke in publicly opposing Georgia’s election reform law is because Pepsi is headquartered in Purchase, NY rather than Atlanta, Georgia.

But by all means continue financially support the WOKE Corporations you like and drink up your Pepsi and keep repeating Republicans need to “Learn to Ballot Harvest” as your mantra. Very insightful.

A year ago, you predicted President Trump was going to win 47 States. Today, you report 49% of Americans identify as Democrats and detest the idea of Making America Great Again.

Wow, can’t wait to see what you will be writing a year from now.

    2. Don was RIGHT about Trump winning 47 states. Don didn't anticipate that the democrats would be successful at such massive fraud, so you're wrong there. So he missed on pepsi? Perhaps, but now he knows.

  17. Jiz more validation for the "productive/parent" to get "red State, red county rural", grouped, gunned, gardened, "System-D simplified" and HOMESCHOOL. There is no reasoning w/ the Chicom/Soros chump-change-funded, semi-literate/functional, NON-productive “woke” pukes and their DemonRAT instigators. The “Reckoning/Wrecking/Rendering” is imminent. Guess who’s got the majority of the guns and the righteous resolve/training to use them when absolutely necessary? Time to “square off and rumble” – better sooner than later. This is it, baby, for all the marbles – it’s liberty or tyranny! The only two “parties” of consequence now are the “productive patriots” vs “parasitic pukes”. Lock[ed] and load[ed]. NO Fear/Hate when,”… where two or three GATHER together …”, What/Who “abides”? “JC always before me/we” cuz … there are no atheists in foxholes or within defensive perimeters surrounded by gov Fast & Furious-armed roving gangs and/or desperate, displaced, UNrepenting/UNprepared. Bring it and send me Home! MAGA – “Make America Gracious/Grateful Again/Always”. Ooo-rah.

No nation can survive with such a worthless populace.
