Highlights of the News

Environmental protesters endanger the public health with a demonstration to promote a long disproven hypothesis regarding carbon dioxide. This is what passes for science these days.

ITEM 1: The National Pulse reported, "Unearthed documents from one of the leading Chinese Communist Party propaganda groups reveal the names of mainstream U.S. journalists taking junkets from the group in exchange for favorable coverage, The National Pulse can exclusively reveal."

The Pulse's list included Associated Press Vice President and Editor Marjorie Miller, The Hill Editor-at-Large Steve Clemons, and Vox Co-founder and New York Times columnist Ezra Klein.

Journalists are a cheap date. All they cost is a trip, a nice room, and a few free meals.

ITEM 2: Quartz reported, "The UK’s parliament voted today (April 22) to endorse a motion accusing Chinese authorities of committing crimes against humanity in its treatment of ethnic and religious minorities.

"Around 1 million Uyghurs and members of other ethnic minority groups are believed to have been held and mistreated by authorities in internment camps in Xinjiang, a northwestern region of China. Beijing denies these allegations and defends the camps as a means to eradicate terrorism.

"Today’s motion was submitted by Nusrat Ghani, a Conservative member of parliament who was recently sanctioned by the Chinese government for her work on this issue. It is non-binding and passed by a unanimous voice vote.

"It’s the latest instance of parliamentarians wading into a controversial question that governments have generally preferred to avoid.

"The US was the first to accuse China of genocide in a unilateral statement issued by Donald Trump’s outgoing administration in January. Then, in February, Canada’s House of Commons declared the Chinese government’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims a genocide. Prime minister Justin Trudeau and most members of his party abstained."

All it took was one man -- one Real Leader -- to rise and oppose Red China's evil.

Oh, to have a president again.

ITEM 3The Daily Mail reported, "Ma'Khia Bryant's military veteran neighbor has said his home security camera footage proves Columbus Police Officer Nicholas Reardon had no choice but to shoot the black 16-year-old because more people could have been killed if he hadn't acted.

"Donavon Brinson told Fox News Thursday morning he believes Bryant could have fatally stabbed the young woman she was seen lunging at with a knife if the cop hadn't opened fire in Columbus, Ohio, Tuesday afternoon.

" 'He could have either not fired and the young lady in pink could have been stabbed in the neck and brutally or fatally injured and then he could shot [Bryant] and we could have had two [young women] dead - or he could have responded in the way that he did and one young lady lost her life,' he said.

"His comments come as a second neighbor said he believes police bodycam footage shows Bryant was in 'full attack mode' and 'needed to be stopped' because a 'young lady's life was at stake.' "

"I can't kill" does not elicit as much sympathy as "I can't breathe."

In the old days, back when America was sane, the policeman would have been heralded as a hero for stopping a crazed killer.

Instead, LeBron James tweeted a death threat. His tweet was so bizarre that even O.J,. Simpson called him out. I mean if anyone knows how swiftly a knife can kill, it is O.J. He tragically lost his ex-wife to a mysterious slasher he has never found despite years of searching for the killer.

ITEM 4: Reuters reported, "The Bank of England might strengthen its controls on cloud data providers and other technology firms to counter possible risks to the stability of the financial system from the rise of fintech, Deputy Governor Dave Ramsden said.

"The Bank of England (BoE) has expressed concerns before about the reliance by financial firms, especially fintech startups, on third-party technology companies for key parts of their operations, and Ramsden said this scrutiny would intensify."

We have turned over our most personal and sensitive information to a bunch of anti-social geeks. It is by no accident that Bill Gates, Jack Dorsey, and Mark Zuckerberg all have hair issues that make Moe Howard seem normal. Why in the world would we expect them to conduct themselves in any manner that is not sociopathic?

It is on us, not them.

ITEM 5: The New York Times said, "The Biden administration on Thursday withdrew a rule proposed by the Trump administration that would have allowed single-sex homeless shelters to exclude transgender people from facilities that correspond with their gender identity.

"The rule was part of a broad, governmentwide effort by the Trump administration to impose restrictions on civil rights for transgender people, even after a Supreme Court ruling affirming protections for gay and transgender workers. President Biden had broadly exerted the power of his office to freeze or overturn some of those restrictions almost immediately after taking office."

This will allow men to pretend they are women and get into domestic violence shelters.

The Times put scary quotes around biological sex. The science denial continues on all fronts.

ITEM 6: Page Six reported, "Brooke Shields shares stunning nude photo in honor of Earth Day 2021."

I am not really sure what this has to do with saving the Earth, but then again I cannot see the logic behind shutting down power plants while promoting electric cars that will consume more electricity.

She has a nice butt.

ITEM 7Reuters reported, "President Joe Biden will roll out a plan to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and their investments to fund about $1 trillion in childcare, universal pre-kindergarten education and paid leave for workers, sources familiar with the proposal said.

"The plan, part of the White House’s push for a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. tax system to make the rich and big companies pay more, calls for increasing the top marginal income tax rate to 39.6% from 37% and nearly doubling taxes on capital gains to 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million, according to the sources this week.

"That would be the highest tax rate on capital gains taxes, which are mostly paid by the top 1% of Americans, since the tax was introduced in 1913."

The rich elected him.

Let the rich fight his tax. I'll stay on the porch and enjoy the sunrise.

ITEM 8: The Daily Mail reported, "Murder rates soar dramatically in cities after BLM protests with up to 6,000 extra deaths nationwide -- massively outweighing the decline in police shootings, researcher finds."

That is the whole point of defund the police.

BLM wants black people killed because that leads to fear and fear leads to power.

ITEM 9: The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, "If you’re having trouble finding gas, you’re not alone.

"At least one gas company, Chevron, said it is facing shortages, for some or all fuel products, at several Las Vegas Valley locations.

"Chevron spokesman Tyler Kruzich said that the shortage at several of its valley gas pumps began over the weekend.

" 'We are working to resupply those stations as soon as possible,' Kruzich said in an emailed statement Monday to the Review-Journal.

"The company said that with travel and capacity restrictions lifted, the West Coast has seen increases in fuel demand 'that may outpace the available supply at times during the month.' "

That sudden drop in demand a year ago shut down refineries and halted drilling. This is a price we pay for electing totalitarian jerks as governors.

ITEM 10Florida Politics reported, "An appeals court wants The Florida Bar to consider taking action against a Panhandle attorney who pursued a high-profile case seeking to force Gov. Ron DeSantis to close beaches because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"A panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal, in an order issued Friday, stopped short of imposing financial sanctions against Santa Rosa Beach attorney Daniel Uhlfelder and lawyers who represented him in an appeal of a circuit judge’s ruling in the case.

"But the panel sharply criticized Uhlfelder and his lawyers, saying that ;they knew or should have known that their demands that the Governor close the beaches were not validly asserted below (in the circuit court) or on appeal."

Uhlfelder is the man who dressed up like the Grim Reaper and harassed beachgoers during the covid 19 scare a year ago. Becket Adams pointed out CNN made him a star, just as it did the Creepy Porn Lawyer.

In their order, Judges Brad Thomas and Adam Tanenbaum said, "There was no good-faith legal argument to support a claim for such relief in the trial court, and there was certainly no good faith basis to argue legal error on appeal. Appellant (Uhlfelder) and his counsel undoubtedly used this court merely as a stage from which to act out their version of political theater. This was unprofessional and an abuse of the judicial process."

This was also CNN.

ITEM 11: CNBC reported, "Senate passes bill to combat hate crimes against Asian Americans."

The story did not mention that Democrats united and voted down an amendment to end discrimination against Asian Americans in hiring and admissions at colleges and universities.

90% of the staff and faculty in higher education are Democrats.

Racism then. Racism now. Racism forever. Only the target of the discrimination changes.

ITEM 12: Why did the alligator go to the store?

To pick up some Gatorade.

ITEM 13: CNBC reported, "The Supreme Court issued a ruling Thursday that will significantly limit the Federal Trade Commission’s ability to extract monetary relief for consumers when companies are found to use deceptive practices.

"In a unanimous opinion delivered by Justice Stephen Breyer, the court said that Section 13(b) of the FTC Act does not authorize the agency to seek monetary relief for violations of the law, as it has commonly been used. The court noted that 13(b) doesn’t explicitly authorize the agency to obtain such a remedy, but instead allows the FTC to seek a permanent injunction pending administrative proceedings."

What?

A federal agency must follow the law?

That's crazy talk right there.

ITEM 14: TPM reported, "Republicans Erupt After Dem Rep. Calls Their DC Statehood Arguments ‘Racist Trash.’ "

Unable to make a cogent, logical argument, Democrat Congressman Mondaire Jones said, "I have had enough of my colleagues’ racist insinuations that somehow the people of Washington D.C. are incapable or even unworthy of our democracy."

The District of Columbia is not a state but rather a place set aside by the real states to be our capital.

The Constitution order Congress "To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States."

If the Founding Fathers had wanted it to be a state, they would have said so.

If Jones wants to make it a state, he should introduce a constitutional amendment.

I wish him well, even though he is an anti-white racist bigot.

ITEM 15: The Associated Press reported, "Chicago is laying its cards on the table and officially seeking bids to build the first casino in the nation's third-largest city.

"City leaders want a world-class resort that'll draw locals and tourists while boosting Chicago's finances, but several steps remain."

First, you have to find someone who doesn't mind opening a casino in the city that led the nation in murders last year

Then, you have to find someone who doesn't mind greasing every palm at City Hall and hiring some unemployable relative of every alderman.

Finally, you have to find someone who doesn't mind doing business in a city that ranks 11th in tax rates.

But Al Capone had no problem running casinos in Chicago. Maybe Mayor Lightfoot can find someone like him to invest.

When does El Chapo get out of jail?

ITEM 16The Week reported, "Protesters evidently want all hands on deck in the push to make Washington, D.C. a state, and they're now headed to Sen. Joe Manchin's (D-W.Va.) nautical home.

"Advocates for D.C. statehood are planning a protest on Thursday, Politico reported, and they'll be gathering at Manchin's houseboat."

Yes, the former governor of West Virginia lives in a yacht while in Washington.

The Guv Boat.

FINALLY, my wife and I got the call and will take our second and final covid vaccine shot on Saturday morning. I respect your right to choose. Please respect mine.

  5. 3 - if you’ve lost OJ on knife crimes, you’ve lost.

7 - they won’t raise 10% of the expected $1 trillion. The wealthy will Avoid capital gains.

14 - that was one of the more biased articles I’ve read in a while. It says the Republican opposition to statehood is “more rooted in political calculus than anything else”, not a peep about the political “calculus” of the democrats was in the article.

Jones is one nasty piece of work. His comments from the floor were over the top racist.

FINALLY - your body, your choice. My wife got the J&J shot. No problems. I am not getting a shot. No problems. At least we are still free to choose on this subject, for now.

Meanwhile, a Townhall article began, "Israel is partying like it's 2019." Restrictions on tourist entry are being partially lifted. This is known as the onset of herd immunity.

  26. Item 14 - To me the simple answer to justify the constitutional approach on this is why would we want a State that houses our federal branch to have powers of a state that can have a vested interest of controlling the federal govt.

Has DC ever had a mayor that is in touch with the real world? What happens when these nutjobs decided to shut down the "state" of DC and keep the fed from functioning?

I'm not naive to the bigger reason of a democrat power grab but there are other problems associated with DC becoming a state. Our Forefathers obviously had a clue.

Rep Jones is a tribal, boot licking, kool-aid drinking cultist and should be treated as such. He's the black version of that frumious bander-Schiff fella.
