Milo says conversion therapy works

Remember Milo Yiannopoulos? He was a British gay conservative who stirred things up. Then he told a joke, was targeted by the Woke, and broke 5 years ago, before being kicked off Twitter became commonplace.

He's back. The New York Post reported, "Milo Yiannopoulos announces he is ex-gay and sodomy free."

Editors quickly converted the headline to "Milo Yiannopoulos says he is ‘ex-gay,’ wants to rehabilitate ‘conversion therapy.’ "

LifeSiteNews broke the story, and reported, "Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay man whose conservative messaging and willingness to speak the truth sparked riots on university campuses may well trigger more outrage now that he describes himself as Ex-Gay and sodomy free, and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online."

Doug Mainwaring interviewed him.

The key points in the interview were:

Milo: When I used to kid that I only became gay to torment my mother, I wasn’t entirely joking. Of course, I was never wholly at home in the gay lifestyle — Who is? Who could be? — and only leaned heavily into it in public because it drove liberals crazy to see a handsome, charismatic, intelligent gay man riotously celebrating conservative principles.

"That’s not to say I didn’t throw myself enthusiastically into degeneracy of all kinds in my private life. I suppose I felt that’s all I deserved. I’d love to say it was all an act, and I’ve been straight this whole time, but even I don’t have that kind of commitment to performance art."

He married his gay boyfriend in Hawaii in 2017.

Milo: "The guy I live with has been demoted to housemate, which hasn’t been easy for either of us. It helps that I can still just about afford to keep him in Givenchy and a new Porsche every year. Could be worse for him, I guess."

The conversation continues in his typical flamboyancy. Then Mainwaring asked, "What drew you to consecrate your life to St. Joseph?"

Milo: "Secular attempts at recovery from sin are either temporary or completely ineffective. Salvation can only be achieved through devotion to Christ and the works of the Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. St. Joseph is the spiritual father figure of the Holy Family. In this time of gender madness, devoting myself to the male protector of the infant Jesus is an act of faith in God’s Holy Patriarch, and a rejection of the Terror of transsexuals. Trannies are demonic: They are the Galli, the castrated priests of Cybele, the Magna mater, whom Augustine saw dancing in the streets of Carthage dressed like women."

You know what I think?

I believe many, many people prayed for him and their prayers were answered.

Maybe he is faking it, but consecrating your life to St. Joseph takes some doing for a Catholic, and the devil would have to be working in overdrive to get a man to fake it.

He ended the interview, "They say if you let one sin in, others will follow, and now I truly know what that means: As I’ve begun to resist sinful sexual urges, I’ve found myself drinking less, smoking less … you name it. I confess my weakness for designer shoes and handbags is yet to dissipate. But I am coming to realize, however slowly, that lust — per Augustine — is disordered desire for all sorts of things, not just NFL players."

The Lord let him keep his sense of humor. I look forward to his next decade.

    1. Agree. The liberals hated him when he was gay. They will triple hate him now that he’s been converted.

  2. He's one of God's creations. With a sense of humor and an intelligence. The thing is...to enjoy the designer shoes and handbags...on women. I'm rooting for him.

    1. To have a devotion to St Joseph is powerful. He will one day be called the patron St of men.

  3. Republicans are allowed to have their own version of Madonna. Let Milo go through as many attention getting versions of his persona as he wants.

If he fights for God and freedom and doing the right thing, he is welcome on my side.

And he’s allowed mistakes and being imperfect in doing so.

  4. Years ago he had one of the great lines of all time, I can't find the exact words but it was something like this.... "Daddy Trump has destroyed the press, incinerated the corpse and salted the earth of it's grave. I've never been more erect."

  5. One more small victory. When lefties convert it seems like they go from bad to far far worse. Milo has become a cheerleader for GOD. AOC dances for the devil.

  6. Milo's claimeed conversion is only slightly more credible than "Biden won fair and square."

    1. No, it is believable if you understand a lot of behaviors can only be changed if the person wants to change. At some point, it has to come from within. (trust me, I speak from personal experience and observation)

  7. Milo wrote a book, Middle Rages: Why the Battle for Medieval Studies Matters to America (2019). I read it. I wasn't expecting a VDH-type treatment, but it was interesting.

    1. Many years ago as an undergraduate I took "The world's most boring course": History of Medieval Philosophy. It was anything but boring, and explored much of the roots of our western intellectual traditions. I look forward to checking out Milo's take on the subject. He may be many things, most of them outrageous, but he is not stupid.
I do hope that he is sincere in his efforts at repentance and transforming his life. It is the essence of charity to condemn the sin, not the sinner.

  9. Salvation is by grace alone, not devotion (works), or from any church either.

Romans 10:9-10 is crystal clear. Its a shame he's a Catholic who teaches salvation by works but at least he's heading in the right direction.

He's like George Floyd. He's overdosing on perversion and some cops refuse to rescue him.

All you atheists don't believe in salvation.

  10. I’ve followed him over the years and watched his status as an influencer slowly dissipate. He’s bounced from one persona to another in an attempt to regain popularity. This is just his newest schtick.... Shame on him.

  14. Milo is a charlatan. He's interesting, intelligent and funny but following him doesn't lead to anywhere except back to his self-indulgence

  15. Welcome news, but I'm not entirely convinced. Milo certainly enjoyed the spotlight for a time as he carved up a few of the left's sacred cows, but then he became a sacred cow unto himself.

  17. I hope he isn't kidding himself. I've come to the conclusion that some people are simply bent that way. Denying your nature is a recipe for depression and loss. That's not to say that sodomy is not a sin in God's eye (who am I to say? God created man, and had to know where man might go). And it's not to say that gay sex is natural (kind of a no brainer considering that the world population gets ever bigger).

But it is to say that if his attestations are for real, he has a tough row to hoe. I wish him luck and God's blessing.

"Lefty heads exploding. This is the ultimate revenge."

This is my favorite comment here. Regardless of what some of us here think, having Milo back on the scene as a living, breathing rebuke to Democrat ideology is excellent. Sure, I hope he's sincere, but I care more about restoring America and I welcome his two cents in that effort.
