Highlights of the News

Rush Limbaugh, austere religious scholar at the helm of Excellence in Broadcasting, dies at 70.

ITEM 1: The chorus of jeers on television, on the Internet, and in print this morning in response to Limbaugh's death proved two things.

1. He was correct about the bias in the media.

2. The hate was a vindication of Twitter and other social media. They did not make public discourse toxic. Corporate media already had.

Many conservatives will bother with cataloguing the insults.

Why?

He's dead. He's in a better place and these fools cannot touch him.

The liberal hate speech is aimed at Limbaugh's listeners as the media seeks to discredit a man who tried to hold them accountable. Will ABC send Martha Raddatz to the funeral? A year ago, it sent her to the one for Iran's terrorist chief Qasem Soleimani, whom President Donald John Trump ordered killed.

ITEM 2: The Wall Street Journal reported, "Reaching back in time more than a million years, scientists reported Wednesday that they had recovered the world’s oldest known DNA from mammoths whose carcasses had lain frozen in the Siberian permafrost since the Ice Age.

"Extracted from molars taken from the long-extinct elephants, the DNA dates back about 1.2 million years, the scientists reported in the journal Nature. Until now, the most ancient known DNA belonged to a prehistoric horse that lived between 560,000 and 780,000 years ago in what is now the Yukon territory in Canada.

"The researchers reconstructed relatively complete sequences of DNA from three specimens as part of an effort to study the mammoth family tree. Variations in the genetic material showed how the 10-ton tusked behemoths evolved in an era when mile-thick ice sheets covered much of the Northern Hemisphere—and revealed a previously unknown ancestor of the mammoths that once roamed North America."

Good.

Now we can ditch the Endangered Species Act. Just put DNA from every species in a bottle, and we can conjure them up if we ever have a hankering for Filet of Snail Darter.

ITEM 3: Roger Friedman reported, "HBO Doc About Woody Allen & Mia Farrow Ignores Mia’s 3 Dead Kids, Her Child Molester Brother, Other Family Tragedies."

Why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

The woman is a loon. We knew that when she cut her hair at 19 and married Frank Sinatra, 50. She could not handle the sudden fame that arose from the TV series Peyton Place. Anyone dumb enough to still care about the trials and tribulations of the Allen-Farrow divorce-without-a-marriage deserves to be lied to.

ITEM 4: Zero Hedge reported, "The nation's second-largest grocery chain has announced the closure of two stores in Seattle, after the city passed a $4-an-hour hazard pay mandate for grocery workers, according to the Washington Post."

Seattle is run by morons who 12 years ago decided to stop salting snowy streets because someone told them the salt would make the waters of the Puget Sound too salty. Anyone dumb enough to fear salting the sea deserves to be stuck indoors when it snows.

At some point we need to stop blaming the grifters who hold public office and start blaming the morons who elect them.

ITEM 5: The Blaze reported, "The South Carolina state legislature passed a major piece of legislation Wednesday banning nearly all abortions in the state — and now the bill is on its way to the governor's desk to be signed into law.

"The bill, known as the South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act, passed the state House by a vote of 79 to 35 Wednesday afternoon, according to the Associated Press. Late last month, the state Senate voted 30 to 13 in favor of the proposal.

"Under the legislation, doctors are required to perform ultrasounds on pregnant mothers seeking an abortion to check if the baby has a heartbeat. Should a heartbeat be detected, the abortion is outlawed except for rare cases where the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest, or in the mother's life is in danger."

The ultrasound is the death of abortion. When you see that dot wiggling, you know it is a life.

ITEM 6: ABC reported, "Two men face federal charges after allegedly posing as U.S. marshals at a Florida resort and threatening hotel staff with arrest if they made them wear masks, a criminal complaint claims.

"Walter Wayne Brown Jr., 53, and Gary Brummett, 81, were arrested Feb. 11 on charges of impersonating a federal officer.

"Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort in Deerfield Beach earlier that day after hotel staff reported they were suspicious of two men who identified themselves as U.S. marshals."

I am sorry but a mask is not the hill I want to go to prison on.

ITEM 7: The Times Union reported, "The FBI and the U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn have launched an investigation that is examining, at least in part, the actions of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's coronavirus task force in its handling of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities during the pandemic, the Times Union has learned.

"The probe by the U.S. attorney's office in the Eastern District of New York is apparently in its early stages and is focusing on the work of some of the senior members of the governor's task force, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter who is not authorized to comment publicly.

"Last March, as the virus began spreading in New York, Cuomo issued a news release listing the 13 initial members of his coronavirus task force, which has been headed by Linda Lacewell, an attorney and former chief of staff for Cuomo. Lacewell is the superintendent of the state Department of Financial Services. Other task force members include state health Commissioner Howard Zucker, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa and Beth Garvey, counsel to the governor."

No excitement without an indictment.

As we learned with the investigation into Hillary's email state-secrets-for-cash scandal, the FBI will destroy evidence to protect a Democrat.

And lie to a FISA judge to spy on a Republican.

ITEM 8: Via the Daily Caller, a quotation from Chairman Xiden.
"I wake up every morning, look at Jill, and say 'where the hell are we?' "
Lost in the White House.

Elder abuse is so sad.

He also said, "everybody knows I like kids better than people."

Child abuse is even sadder.

ITEM 9: The New York Times tattle-taled, "Clubhouse, a Tiny Audio Chat App, Breaks Through.

"The 11-month-old app has exploded in popularity, even as it grapples with harassment, misinformation and privacy issues."

Fascists are OK with Twitter and Facebook banning conservatives. They falsely claim that companies can do whatever the hell they want. (Not according to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.)

Start your own Twitter, the press said.

When people did, the press went after them. Gab, Parler, and now Clubhouse.

The next Republican president should shut down Twitter and Facebook. Cite national security issues.

Dictator Donnie will smile and pat the NYT reporters on the head while the IRS send the New Untouchables to get Carlos Slim and the Sulzbergers.

Then they will investigate Jeff Bezos, arresting him while Jennifer Rubin does an exclusive interview with Dictator Donnie in the Oval Office

ITEM 10: Via Town Hall, Newsmax's Greg Kelly asked President Emeritus Donald John Trump, "Again, look, it's a no-brainer, right? You're going to run for president in 2024, right?"

He replied, "Well, we have tremendous support. I won't say yet, but we have tremendous support. And I'm looking at poll numbers and they're through the roof. I'm the only guy who gets impeached and my numbers go up."

In 2013, did anyone think he would run in 2016?

ITEM 11: Dissidents to the Red China regime announced, "President Biden is dismissing the genocide against the Uyghur population in China, dubbing the mass internment a different norm — despite the State Department this month responding to atrocities in the camps, following reports of systemic rape and torture, the New York Post reported on Wednesday."

Considering Red China likely has child porn evidence against Hunter Biden, I am not surprised.

Liberals support only anti-American Muslims because lefties hate all religions equally.

ITEM 12: Reuters reported, "Australians woke to empty news feeds on their Facebook Inc pages on Thursday after the social media giant blocked all media content in a surprise and dramatic escalation of a dispute with the government over paying for content."

Moving to Australia suddenly became tempting.

Clubhouse, here is your opening.

ITEM 13: Just the News reported, "Democrat Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, the non-voting delegate representing the District of Columbia in the House, vowed to stop the 7-foot fence surrounding the U.S. Capitol from becoming permanent."

Lefties finally realize the fence will keep them out too.

I was wrong. They are educable.

ITEM 14: United Press International reported, "The European Court of Human Rights on Wednesday directed Russia to release opposition leader Alexei Navalny from prison.

"The court said Navalny should immediately be granted a temporary release after he said the government could not provide sufficient safeguards for his life and health.

"Navalny was arrested immediately upon returning to Russia after receiving treatment for Novichok poisoning and sentenced to two and a half years in prison for violating his parole conditions earlier this month.

"The court noted that Navalny's release was based on the conditions of his imprisonment and was not a reversal of his 2014 conviction on embezzlement charges."

OK, how are these Brainiacs going to enforce their order?

ITEM 15: CNBC reported, "Here’s what to expect from Thursday’s GameStop hearing with Robinhood, Citadel and Reddit CEOs."

I expect more cowbell.

Nothing but cowbell.

It will be a cowbell symphony.

Pocahontas will whoop and holler. In the end, legislation will be passed that protects the hedge funds and Robinhood from Redditors.

ITEM 16: The New York Daily News reported, "Democrats in the state Senate are ready to move forward with a measure to curb Gov. Cuomo’s sweeping pandemic powers. Lawmakers are preparing to pass a measure that will strip the governor of the wide-ranging executive authority granted to him last year as the COVID crisis began."

The last thing white Democrats want to do is give the next governor, Letitia James, such sweeping power.

  3. Item 2: The DNA can tell a lot about an extinct species, but it cannot tell the behemoth’s sexual orientation or whether it identified as male or female.

Item 6: Impersonating a federal officer is dumb. Better to just ignore the mask Nazi and just walk on in. The most they can do is call the sheriff and have you ejected from the premises (but not jailed or fined). I’d be willing to gamble that they won’t actually call the cops on a guest who is just enjoying the facilities. Bad optics.

    1. One problem with an overly feminized society is that too many people become disconnected from - and thus completely oblivious to - the silent infrastructure sorts of things that make settled life possible and comfortable (water, food, heat, electricity, snow removal...).

I don't know how we'll survive creeping obliviousness...

  5. Item #1: And all the morons who were so upset with the President and wouldn't vote for him because of his "mean" tweets are out in full force today tweeting the most vile, hateful things about a true patriot and gentleman. They make me want to puke.

  6. Item 1: Yes the media hates us. It/they lie to us.
Which comes to what I keep on keeping on saying, I don't know if the media is/are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dem Party, or if it's the other way round, but it's OBVIOUS that they are in CAHOOTS, and I despise, detest, and totally DISTRUST every thing they try to tell me.

Item 12: Perhaps the Aussies could get their government to crack down on Facebook...but from what little I read about it, it seems like the gummint would be worse.

  7. Item 1 - The reaction from the left demonstrates with great clarity their intolerance and hate for all who disagree with them. Their extreme hate for Rush was likely due to his unique ability to predict the evil of the left.

    1. What unique ability? Donks are as predictable as the sunrise.
What made Rush awesome was his willingness to face them down day after day after month after year and not blink.
I rarely listened to him. When I did I got mad enough to park my truck on a Prius.

  10. Item 1: I have less than zero interest in vicious and disgusting lib tweets about Rush's death. They gloried when he was diagnosed so this was entirely predictable. Plus it's what they've been doing over every misfortune on the right for at least 5 years. It's all they have left...and if you think about that it shows what a pathetic state they are in.

  14. ITEM 1 - The slurs directed at Rush honor him. Anything these schmucks say is bad has to be by definition good.

ITEM 2 - DNA analysis applies to vegetation as much as animals. A few years ago, an Israeli botanist used DNA to identify more than a hundred different native grape varieties. We may not be able to find the Holy Grail, but the time will come when we can reproduce the wine that was sipped from it.

      Rush was in that 90%.

I don't watch that news and I don't have cable any more so whatever they're saying is not on my radar. I've long given up paying any mind to what they say.

  15. The fence in DC serves two direct purposes.

    1) Intimidation.

    2) A protest buffer/shield.

The latter is meant to protect the Bidet* Admin from the bad optics of people protesting his election theft, spiking gas prices, and overall incompetence.

The third thing it demonstrates, though they wish it didn't, is their hypocrisy on barriers (see Wall, Border, Southern). Walls work better than fences, even, and this proves their refrain of "Walls don't work" as just more nonsense.

    2. Ed you really need to try decaf.

Yes I do own Trump. In this case Trump is my Australian Shepherd I rescued in October 2016 and named him Trump.

And yes probably less than 1% I'm disappointed that clause was added because the heart beat belongs to a human that should be protected regardless of circumstances of conception.

      Delete
    3. It's either a myth (i.e., non-existent) _or_ "less than 1%." It can't be both.

TO is correct that the bill would have been better without that exception, since a baby conceived via rape or incest is just as much a human life as any other. But yeah, I guess they weren't going to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

  22. I have to disagree with #5:

"Under the legislation, doctors are required to perform ultrasounds on pregnant mothers seeking an abortion to check if the baby has a heartbeat. Should a heartbeat be detected, the abortion is outlawed except for in rare cases where the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest or the mother's life is in danger."

I can see three extremely possible scenarios to evade the guidelines.
    1) "Heartbeat? Nope, don't hear one, sorry. Let's get you in the stirrups."
    2) "Miss, did your pregnancy happen due to rape of some kind? Were you a willing recipient?"
    Well...
"That's it, no need to say anything further, get in the stirrups!"
    3) Doctor, this pregnancy has got me anxious and confused.
"Hmm, sounds like your health will be effected if you go through with this pregnancy. Get in the stirrups."

Sorry, but evil will find a way to get around the intentions of good people. This is a nice start, but lots more needs to be done before I'll say that ultrasound is the death of abortion. There are too many unethical people who believe in abortion as a way of life (pun not intended).
