No Joe, you're supposed to be humble

After 4 years of inciting riots in cities across the nation (beginning in Washington on the day Donald John Trump became president), Democrats are demanding that Republicans heal the nation.

No. That is not how that works. The party that refused to accept the 2016 election of President Trump needs to be conciliatory. Biden needs to show a little humility.

Democrats say, but Lincoln! 

I say, yes, Lincoln.

President Lincoln.

Got that? He worked to unite the country not because he was a Republican but because he was the president. He knew the job entailed him to man up and be gracious. He did not call for the impeachment of his predecessor and other nonsense. He was a serious man in a serious time.

Lincoln gave the conciliatory speech at his second inauguration. He worked to bring the nation together after 4 years of a civil war which left 300,000 young men dead on each side of the battlefield.

A month before Lee's surrender at Appomattox, Lincoln said, "With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan to do all which may achieve and cherish a just, and a lasting peace, among ourselves, and with all nations."

One month later, Democrats responded by assassinating him in a conspiracy that left his secretary of state nearly dead in an attempted assassination at his home.

156 years later, the incoming president leads a party that wants to silence all critics, wants to imprison President Trump, wants to ensure that those who worked for him never are employed again, and wants to expel from Congress anyone who dared to question a stolen election.

Biden may be thick as a brick and slow as molasses, but he knows exactly what he is doing.

He does not want to unify the country because he and his party have convinced themselves that they are so right about everything that only deplorable people (or dregs of society as he called them) would dare to question his agenda. 

Democrats do not seek reconciliation. They seek to solidify their power. There will be no more Tea Parties or Trumps or any dissension. 

Biden represents the Swamp in all its glory.

President Obama's coronation in 2008 led to the Tea Party in 2010. They do not want a repeat of that under Biden. They think their mistake in 2010 was not taking the Tea Party seriously. But it was the arrogance that did Democrats in, and arrogance could do them in again 2022.

And this time, Republican incumbents will be primaried. I suggest dumping Liz "Meghan McCain" Cheney first.

    Congressman, I have read your statement regarding the election and while I support and agree with it I don't agree with the actions of this current Congress. I no longer have any faith in the election process or its security and faithfulness to our constitution. Our country is heading towards a government full of those who will seek revenge and condemnation of anyone who disagrees with their socialist doctrine. Our Republic is now at an end.
    I feel that as a veteran of 26 1/2 years in the Navy my career and efforts now stand for nothing and those who have fought and died to defend our republic did so in vain. Private companies are now seeking to punish those with a political opinion different from theirs and there will be no recourse. BLM and Antifa will continue to terrorize communities and private citizens with impunity with no recourse from our elected officials. Our children will face socialist indoctrination in our schools with no recourse. What will be next? Will I or my fellow veterans lose their benefits because we don't follow the proper and approved thought?
    You and I once sat together at the same table for a Navy Ball function years ago in Fredericksburg when I was a Command Master Chief and at that time I, and my Sailors, were enjoying a well-deserved celebration to recognize our great and powerful Navy and those that represent the mission statement.
    From this day forward the enemy lies within our borders and those who won't stand up for our rights will deny our military, past and present, any heritage or future under a free people.

    1. And to that I might add, no young white man should ever join the military services--not to get killed in adventurism abroad or to defend a country that still wants him dead when he gets back.

      Ditto for local law enforcement. Let the ghettos and the "woke" gentrifiers in our cities fend for themselves.

    5. I don’t look at this as a black or white issue. Antifa and BLM are ideologies. There’s a mix there and a mix in the conservative movement. Defining actions by race leads no where.
      I had my prostrate removed in June of last year because of Stage III cancer. They didn’t get it all and now I’m going to an oncology building to have 39 radiation treatments done. Just completed number 16. In that office waiting room there has been a young black lady who has her appointment the same time as mine only she is getting chemo therapy. We wave and say hi to each other and sometimes make a comment about the weather. But in there you don’t talk politics, and you don’t judge each other by the color of your skin. You sit with each other while you wait for you treatment for cancer and respect each other for what you’re going through. Funny how facing a potential death by a common cause brings people together.

    So in the effort to unite Lincoln invaded the South and sent Sherman to slaughter women and children on his holy crusade for hallowed ground.

    Yep that's Lincoln alight. His slogan was
    Preserve the Union

    Translation: preserve the tax base! And so the first shots were fired right where the tariffs for the South were collected. Ft Sumpter.

    Lincoln called Gettysburg hallowed ground. He glorified war and bloodshed all in the name of the Prince of Peace.

    He's the perfect idol for the neo-cons who glorify war and bloodshed.

    1. I rate presidents on a "pursuit of happiness" scale. If you could measure the general level of content in the nation, how would the president score. By that measure Lincoln would probably come in dead last - not a town or village in the nation was unaffected by the war. Families lost sons, fathers, brothers, grandchildren and grandfathers, neighbors, etc.

      Next lowest would probably go to FDR - most in the nation destitute, with no hope for improvement on the horizon, just survival. Then a war that touched everyone just as the civil war had.
      I suspect that Biden will give it a run for the bottom ranking by the time he is removed via the 25th amendment.

    The whispering in DC is the GOPe is trying to convince the Democrats that rather than impeach President Trump, they should work together to indict, arrest, convict and imprison him.

    And in what should really warm your heart, the GOPe faction of the House is so upset with House Minority Leader McCarthy (even though, or perhaps because, he was so successful in leading the House Republicans in the 2020 elections; unlike loser Paul Ryan) they want to replace him with their courageous leader....just wait...yes...Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Nepotism).

    No kidding. Dead serious.

  13. The Demonrats are political suicide bombers for their cause. They know once implemented nothing they pass will be rolled back by Republican'ts.

    It's a one-way ratchet.

    They'll ban ARs and standard capacity magazines and that will be that. Maybe they lose office maybe not. They don't care. Nobody will have the guts to repeal them.

    Then on to the next thing.

    Trump single-handedly tried to roll things back then got a big fat thumbs down from John McCain. That's the way it always works. Dims march in lockstep. RINOs can't wait to abandon ship.

    And, as with a lot of Civil War stuff, I have to disagree. Lincoln wanted a war. VA, NC, TN, and AR tried to talk him out of it and find a peaceful solution. He was not interested.

    3 years later, his "bind up the nation's wounds" talk was pure hypocrisy. Whether he could have avoided a fight is another issue, but he most certainly was no uniter.
