Megyn Kelly, Trump supporter?

Megyn Kelly came to The Donald's defense on Saturday in an interview on BBC. She said the media's hatred of President Trump bears some responsibility for the storming of the Capitol, in which the congressional police force shot and killed an unarmed protester.

She told BBC that she has come around on how Donald Trump and his supporters view the media.

Via the Daily Mail, she said, "I remember listening to all of his disparaging comments about CNN when he first became a national figure as a presidential candidate, and I watched a lot of CNN even though I was on Fox. And I was like this is unfair. CNN maybe a little boring, but it’s fair and it’s factual. It’s not biased against Trump. Then they spent the next four years proving him right – proving me wrong."

The election of President Trump put the media hate in overdrive.

Kelly said, "They hated him so much they checked their objectivity, and it wasn’t just CNN, all of them did. They just couldn’t check their own personal feelings about him. 

"Either that, or they signed on to what I call the Jorge Ramos theory of covering Trump. He was at Univision, and he advocated, prior to Trump’s election, that we needed to cover him differently; that you needed to outwardly call him a racist, sexist, misogynist, all of it, and that that was important for history, and I think too many journalists agreed with that, at their own peril. 

"Part of the reason we saw what happened at the Capitol here two weeks ago was because there’s been a complete lack of trust, a destruction of trust in the media, and people don’t know where to turn for true information, they don’t trust the media anymore. And it’s a major problem."

The major problem has spun out of control. Stealing the election did not stop the media outrage. The media has turned on the 75 million people who voted for him, demonizing us, and trying to get us all banished from within our own country.

Kelly's transformation echoes that of journalistic commentators Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald who are saying whoa to the fascism from the left. All three see the danger of the loss of media credibility, not that the oligarchs running the news shows give a damn.

To them, the truth is a drag on profits.

In a tweet following her interview, she said, "Only 18% of Republicans trust the media. The refusal of the MSM to consider their role in causing this is inexcusable, but predictable. If they want to kill their own medium, that’s their choice, but GOP voters (75 million of them) will find other options."

And we are.
