Liberals suffer Trump withdrawal

After obsessing over him in their every woken moment for the past 5 years, liberals face the terror of withdrawal as Donald John Trump has gone home to Florida.

He has lived rent-free in their heads for so long that they feel an emptiness.

Melanie McFarland wrote about her ordeal for Salon.

She wrote, "Post-Trump, what are you going to do with all of that freed-up space in your brain?"

Her subheadline read, "For five years an Orange Menace camped out in our brains. Now he's gone, what is possible? TV might have answers."

She pretended she was freed.

McFarland wrote, "Whether we wanted it or not, this person was squatting inside our brains. Now that he's gone, hallelujah, there's room up there. Glorious open square footage.

"What are you – what are we – going to do with that empty mind hole?

"Take time to think about that. Scratch that, take the weekend off from thinking about anything, since the guy who was living rent free inside your skull did a number on it, stomping on the upstairs floorboards morning, noon and night for five years, stealing your bandwidth."

He did nothing like that, of course.

He wouldn't know Melanie McFarland from Seth McFarland. She and millions of other liberals decided to devote their lives to thinking about him. There was a little bit of a stalker in them. Indeed, the president blocked McFarland from his Twitter feed because of her behavior.

But she wrote, "Even if you weren't on social media since he governed by tweet, he sneaked in to your thoughts by way of words tattooed on dead trees, radio waves, a friend's seething complaint. Predictably, he got worse, doing the equivalent of clogging up the plumbing and stripping the copper from the fixtures and wiring. He's gone now, but the place is a wreck."

Words tattooed on dead trees?

She is describing her brain and admitting that it is a wreck.

And she is calling for a brainwashing.

She wrote, "We all need a break.

"Once we've straightened out the place and taken scrub brushes and scouring powder to the corners, seriously, do come back to that question. What do we put in there? It is absolutely imperative that we come up with individual and collective answers. Recognize this is a multipronged question demanding creative responses on multiple fronts – sociopolitical, spiritual and cultural, for starters."

Ah, "individual and collective answers," comrade.

I had forgotten that communism is the opioid of the weak-minded.

She wrote, "Television has a way of touching all of these and impacting what we believe and the way we think, and sadly the fact that the previous administration happened at all proves this."

Ah, TV. The meth for the weak-minded.

Then she turned her column briefly into a unpaid ad for TV shows.

But she has decided to replace the Orange Menace with Trump supporters. She will obsess over them.

McFarland wrote, "However, to honestly answer the question of what to do with our mental penthouse requires thinking bravely and creatively not just about where we are, but how to positively stoke the possibility of where we can and should go from here.

"Lots of folks are suggesting what not to do again, advising well-meaning thinkers not to waste time digging for concrete data to explain why 74 million people voted for the hooligan who spent four years steadily beating reason and science to death and killing 400,000 Americans in the process. They don't want to acknowledge that the answer is obvious and ugly, and therefore very hard to solve and defeat in one or two swipes."

She wants to re-educate us with TV shows.

That's only been tried for 50 years when "All in the Family" debuted. Odd show. The only one who grew was Archie Bunker. Meathead and the rest kept their prejudices and biases.

And here we Archie Bunkers still are. We live and love and keep happy. We lost an election, which was stolen. None of us spend much time thinking about Chairman Xiden.

The Meatheads feel lonely. There is an emptiness inside them. They need something new to obsess about.

She ended her column by quoting Stephen Colbert who said, "How do you repair the past? Have we tried unplugging it and plugging it back in? Because that works with almost everything else.

"Rebooting is impossible. Repairing and redesigning, that we can do. For now, though, it's fine to know our mind space is ours again and blissfully sit with that. The keys to our attention have been returned. Please, let's not lose them again."

You know what would really work for Colbert?

If he tried telling jokes and stopped taking politics so seriously.

And you know what would work for McFarland and all the rest of her liberals?

Me neither.

This is pervasive as comedy and politics are one in the same.

As for the upcoming impeachment, the Senate vote will split 50 - 50, and the vice president will be the deciding vote.

Donald Trump is a true patriot, and us supporters will follow him in 2024.

    1. The Vice President won't cast the deciding vote since a 2/3 affirmative vote is required to convict.

    2. It's not an upcoming impeachment. He's already impeached. It now moves to a Senate trial which is effectively an illegal Bill of Attainder since he's again a private citizen.

As mentioned above, 2/3 vote required to convict. That won't happen. Thus a subsequent vote on disqualification from holding future office becomes moot. Not that they wouldn't try.

      Trump ain't done yet.

    3. Nope. Quite legal. This is just as idiotic as when the Left claimed it was illegal to invoke a rarely used procedure to question the Electoral College results.

Judges have been both impeached and convicted after they have resigned. Leaving office isn't enough to excuse high crimes. The same rules apply to the presidency.

Trump is definitely done. This is just the beginning. The prosecutions are just starting from inciting insurrection to tax evasion.

    5. It will take a 2/3 majority to convict. 50/50? Hardly, there will be several republicans joining the dims to convict. Should be an interesting tell to see where the republican loyalties are.

    6. The Dems need 17 Republicans to vote for impeachment in order to "win".

  2. Today I reached my lowest point. So depressed and angry how this election went down and what we lost. I feel like we had a death and we are all in mourning. There is no news source to turn to for comfort. FOX news sucks. Disgusting for how they acted and reported the election and how they have behaved since. They use to play the National Anthem on their morning weekend show at 6am. No longer do they play it. I am summarily done with them.
Moving forward will be tough. The EOs biden is signing are sickening, dangerous and anti-American. Where we go from here is unknown. The damage has been done. Today, I will play only Charlie Daniels music, a true American Patriot who's music speaks the essence of what made this country so great.

Losing elections is part of the democratic process. Sometimes your party wins. Sometimes it loses. That's life. You can't always get what you want.

  4. I was on a golf outing. It was post election the 7 of us were lamenting election result or so we thought. I suggested the whole mask/covid issue was designed to get Trump. We discovered that of us there was a true Trump hater and proceeded make an ass of himself by first berating me and then Mr. Trump. This guy's tone was nasty and vicious. His language was as vulger as I've ever heard. (I'm a former submarine sailor I've heard it all) The rest of us in group were quite startled by his rant. We all left, went home the next day and didn't mention the incident. The unbridled hate the Estabiment and media have instilld in people is a huge problem. They hate him so much they cannot or will not acknowledge all the good he was doing. So now we have Chairman Xiden. I'll continue to work at the local level to try to overcome the Xiden regime. Don't tell me its hopeless. Giving up is hopeless.

  8. The ONLY bright spot in the near future is that Trump successfully unmasked our true enemies.

The GOP is dead to me. The few good men in the GOP should rapidly migrate to a new "Patriot" party, and Trump should lead the way. A requirement of the membership of the new "Patriot" party should be signing an ironclad contract of serving only ONE term to get us back to a citizen led government.

Of course, the success would depend on election reforms that insure free and fair elections, based on paper ballots, ironclad chain-of-custody rules for those ballots, voter ids, and citizenship requirements.

If we can't get election reforms like those above, we are at a 1776 moment to restore our republic.

    2. The history of 3rd parties is that the vote is split and people like Wilson and Clinton win. Take over the GOP unlike the TEA Party managed to do. We need the GOP infrastructure. 5 of us tried to start the American Conservative Party and the two major parties have rigged the requirements to make it extremely improbable to succeed.

      Delete
    3. How, pray tell, do we take over the Republican Party? We've been trying since before the Tea Party came on the scene. The RNC SUPOORTED the incumbent with massive infusion of political ads and money, as well as slandering their Primary Opponents in each and every case. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Give me a new party where I can be sure of my allies. The GOP is a swamp of special interest money supporting incumbents that work against average Americans. It's a big club, and you ain't in it.

If we fail with 70+million supporters of a new Patriot Party, it's 1776 time.

    4. Marketing, people. Marketing. Short, snappy party name. Completely defines who we are and what we want. Patriot evokes the football team and an implied “...and you’re not.” Tea Party sounded effeminate to those under the age of 40 who simply weren’t taught it in our pathetic fooking schools. Conservative has already been demonized by the LibCommies. There’s only one name for the Reepub Reeplacement Party: MAGA.

    6. Doubt that Trump will be able to lead a 3rd Party. He is going to go through Lawfare Purgatory, starting with impeachment.

Doubt there will be another election. Great Reset is coming. Probably we'll have a new Constitution and a Chinese-modeled One-Party system.

Radical? Yes, but so is stealing an election so brazenly and the false flag Capitol attack etc. They know that half the population doesn't buy their BS any more, and they know that by so blatantly stealing the election they have broken the Republic irreparably. And they don't care.

Why don't they care? Because they know they are about to introduce a whole new reality/political system.

Unless a way is found to undo the last election forcing the current office-holders out due to clearly proven fraud, 2020 was probably the last election of the First American Republic.

I empathize with what you say but it doesn't change the situational truth that he served as a fantastic controlled opposition leader right up to Jan 6th after which he recommended all his supporters stand down and do nothing to hinder the ongoing theft after the Congress used a staged insurrection to avoid having to debate the election fraud in any depth or detail.

After that vote, there should have been large protests every day.

But there was not a single one.

If that ain't perfect controlled opposition, I don't know what is.

On the other hand I don't want to insult worms, as their processing can involve polysynaptic processing and at least the presence of a head ganglion.

  18. Robin: How many immigrants? A million? A billion? Should they all be from Mexico ... uneducated, unable to support themselves? May we have some from other countries who ARE ABLE to support themselves? Or do we just owe it to the world to take all the ignorant masses looking for a handout from the golden goose (which is now dead by the way). "Immigrants" don't have the right to come to this country and break all our laws (starting with the immigration laws). Please provide another country that allows this. All you bleeding hearts are just so predictable. Virtue signaling... but no real solutions.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Robin, I think you are applying a scripture to meet your needs. Christ is much more complicated than your quote says. If you were logical you will explain how did Christ welcome immigrants? He focused on his own people. The people his Father sent him to deal with and only in rare circumstances did he bother with non-jews let alone immigrants. Your quote has meaning, but you try to turn Christ into your own image by falsely portraying his life to fit your politics. If you believed the quote you used, you would give all "you" yourself have for the immigrants. Instead you force others to give their life and money to satisfy a belief you don't really have. I think the left describes what you did here as 'appropriating' Christian Culture. Christ deals with the non-jews(gentiles) on an individual basis, so you certainly need to take what you read in scriptures as a personal lesson rather than a political group lecture series.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Robin: So tell us, how many illegal immigrants are you going to sponsor, and by 'sponsor', I mean how many are you going to take into your household? They'll need to live with you for at least a year or two, including food & drink, clothing, medical insurance, and don't forget smartphones & connectivity. How many rooms do you have, I believe the rule is 2 people for every 200 sq ft.

So put your virtue-signalling where your mouth is...
