Donald John Trump is still our president.

ITEM 1: The media reported, "The media industry was racked by a record 30,711 job cuts in 2020 — a stunning increase of 201% from the year earlier when 10,201 jobs were lost.

"The figures, which were rolled out Thursday by outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, included jobs data from the news industry, advertising, television and movie production.

"Last year’s dismal results topped the previous all-time record of 28,802 jobs lost in 2008 at the height of the Great Recession. And cutbacks in newsrooms, whether broadcast, digital or print, accounted for more than half the losses, or some 16,180 cuts."

Newspapers are not run by the brightest of people.

In cheerleading lockdowns, newspapers sentenced their local advertisers to doom. Amazon replaced the local store. Netflix replaced the movie theater. Walmart replaced the supermarket. And chain franchises replaced the local restaurant, which valiantly tried to do takeout for the first time.

No local merchants meant no local ads which meant unloading staff. 

As a bonus, the downtown property most newspapers own fell in value because the pandemic panic dropped demand for office space considerably. There went the backup plan.

If newspapers stood up for the people, the media job cuts would not have tripled this year.

ITEM 2: On July 21, CNBC reported, "Germany’s coronavirus response is a master class in science communication."

Ah yes, Der Master Race. Six months later, the German death rate is the same as ours.

Covid 19 is a seasonal virus.

ITEM 2: Just the News reported, "Nearly half of all U.S. voters think that individual Americans are capable of assessing what kinds of business practices are safe during the pandemic, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

"Asked who should be trusted to determine which businesses should remain open during the pandemic, 45% said individual Americans, while 39% said governors and mayors.

"The remaining 16% of respondents were unsure."

I get the feeling 45% of the country has had dealings with these governors and mayors and realize what jokes most of them are.

We are not electing the best.

ITEM 3: Publisher's Weekly reported, "Simon & Schuster has canceled its planned June publication of The Tyranny of Big Tech by Sen. Josh Hawley.

"The junior U.S. Senator from Missouri, a Republican, was the first senator who objected to the Electoral College results declaring Joe Biden the president-elect of the United States after winning the 2020 presidential election. The objections triggered a debate in Congress on January 6 that became the target of the armed insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol in apparent response to rhetoric by Trump and his allies, including Hawley."

Imagine that.

Corporate fascists won't publish a book that denounces corporate fascism.

ITEM 4: Via Matt Margolis, Nancy Pelosi told a press conference in 2018, "I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country, and maybe there will be when people realize that this is a policy that they defend."

Two summers later, Democrats staged uprisings in city after city.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported, "More than 150 House Democrats, well over half of the caucus, have signed on to articles of impeachment written by Reps. David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Ted Lieu of California and Jamie Raskin of Maryland that focus on the breach of the Capitol complex and accuse the president of inciting an insurrection."

Go ahead and impeach.

What a lovely trial it will be with Uprising Nancy as a hostile witness and all.

ITEM 5: The Washington Post reported, "President-elect Joe Biden’s plans for a major new economic relief package boosting stimulus payments to $2,000 ran into possibly fatal opposition from his own party Friday as Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) said he would absolutely not support a new round of checks.

"Manchin, a moderate who will hold great sway in a Senate split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, made his views known even as the Biden team worked to develop a coronavirus relief package that would include new stimulus checks, extended unemployment benefits, and more."

Joe also promised to vote to repeal Obamacare and shoot up EPA regulations.

His word is the quicksilver of politics

He is just looking to make a deal.

I have news for him. A score of Republican senators await their turn to serve Xiden, as a reader calls him.

ITEM 6: President Trump will not attend the inauguration by mutual agreement.

That is for the best. The transition of power from the people to corrupt and dishonest will be smooth, unlike the resistance fomented 4 years ago by Obama, who attended the inauguration. 

They did not win fair and square, but they won. On January 20, the president should give his farewell speech to the staff, and fly home to Mar-A-Lago.

ITEM 7: Ace reported, "Dennis Prager wrote, 'I Now Understand 'the Good German,' the German Who Went Along with Nazism, Because I'm Seeing It In America.'

"No, he doesn't mean Trump supporters. He means the snarling fascists who are not just eager to give up all rights to the Covid Police, but are Hitler's Willing Executioners regarding informing on their neighbors.

"Sobering, he says.

"Yes. But makes one want to drink."

ITEM 8: CNN reported, "Dominion Voting Systems has filed suit against Sidney Powell, the lawyer who pushed false election claims for the Trump campaign, claiming defamation and deceptive trade practices.

"The company seeks more than $1.3 billion in damages."

Worst legal advice so far in 2021.

Someone needs to explain the facts of life to DVS (pronounced devious). There is this thing called discovery. There is this other thing called deposition.

Besides, she does not have $1.5 billion and her insurance does not cover that amount.

ITEM 9: International Business Times reported, "Senator Lindsey Graham has gotten another taste of the pro-Trump furor he once encouraged as a crowd of Trump supporters forced him to leave an airport terminal, chanting “traitor.” Donald Trump’s supporters turned on Graham, R-S.C., after he lambasted the people involved in Washington, D.C.’s riots and voted to certify the electoral college vote. 

"The incident occurred Friday at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Va., where Graham appeared to be waiting in a terminal. Police are present as he’s surrounded by shouting Trump supporters and eventually escorted away, the crowd following him to hurl insults and profanity."

I forget.

Which one was the Evil Twin, John McCain or Lindsey?

ITEM 10: Yahoo Finance reported, "December jobs report: Payrolls drop for the first time since April, unemployment rate steadies at 6.7%."

That is 1.1 points better than the month after Obama's re-election.

And of course, 8 points below April's high.

ITEM 11: Breitbart reported, "An employee at Google’s News Labs, which has trained thousands of journalists since its founding in 2015, is calling Republican politicians traitors and demanding they be thrown in jail.

"Ashley Alese Edwards posted a number of tweets targeting various Republican senators and congressmen, calling for draconian punishments for alleged treason."

And the Chicago Sun Times reported, "The professional fallout came quickly Thursday for a few Chicagoans who attended the Stop the Steal rally in the nation’s capital that later devolved into chaos and violence. `

"A city real estate agent was publicly fired after she posted to social media about attending the event. After workers at a tattoo shop posted about attending the rally, the shop was savaged on social media and was hit with graffiti accusing the store of employing Nazis.

"A Vietnamese restaurant, whose owners reportedly also attended the rally, was overwhelmed with negative online reviews."

Let the healing begin.

ITEM 12: Real Clear Politics reported, "In what some consider one of the most far-reaching social policy moves in the corporate world, the National Association of Realtors, called the nation's largest trade organization, has revised its professional ethics code to ban “hate speech and harassing speech” by its 1.4 million members.

"The sweeping prohibition applies to association members 24/7, covering all communication, private and professional, written and spoken, online and off. Punishment could top out at a maximum fine of $15,000 and expulsion from the organization.

"Mary Wagner, a Buffalo real estate agent who is white and lesbian, says the move, announced in November, fits her vision for creating a fairer society. She predicts thousands of complaints this year, given the realtor association's enormous size and the overheated climate of social media."

Being a lesbian won't exempt her.

Consider how they went after Ellen Degeneres.

ITEM 13: Gateway Pundit reported, "Parler CEO Condemns Censorship of Facebook and Twitter Oligarchs."

The CEO said, "If free speech truly is the enemy and we must restrict and censor the voices of people to keep our country safe then our country is already lost.

"If one man’s voice is a threat to our nation but his holding of the presidential office is not, then it is apparent the powers of the presidency are less powerful than a single voice. Why should any of us settle to giving up our rights to free speech?

"It’s clear that Facebook and Twitter believe the ends justify the means. They believe the American people are weak. They insult our founding fathers by suggesting Zuckerburg and Dorsey know what is best for us.

"Parler is not an arbiter of truth. We believe in you. We believe you are wise enough to decide for yourself and trust that given access to all information we can self govern. The solution is clear. If you believe in free speech, and our founding principles of our republic, then we must liberate others by promoting free speech Parler."

CNET reported, "Google bans Parler app and Apple could do the same after Capitol Hill attack."

We do not live in a Cancel Culture.

We live in a fascist state.

ITEM 14: On July 9, 2019, NPR reported, "A federal appeals court in Manhattan says President Trump cannot block critics from his Twitter account, calling it 'unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination.'

"In a 29-page ruling on Tuesday, a three-judge panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld a lower court's decision that found that Trump violated the First Amendment when he blocked certain Twitter users, because he uses his Twitter account to conduct official business and to interact with the public.' By preventing critics from accessing his feed, the president is barring them from participating in what the judges deemed a public forum.

"The First Amendment does not permit a public official who utilizes a social media account for all manner of official purposes to exclude persons from an otherwise-open online dialogue because they expressed views with which the official disagrees,' the judges wrote.

"The case stems from a lawsuit filed by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University on behalf of seven people who were blocked from the @realDonaldTrump account after posting replies criticizing the president and his policies. That meant the users could not view the president's tweets, reply directly to them or use the account's webpage to view the comment threads associated with Trump's tweets."

In banning President Trump, did Twitter violate a federal court order?

Will the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University now demand Twitter allow the president of the United States to tweet?

ITEM 15: The New York Post reported, "Disturbing video taken during the storming of the US Capitol shows five police officers apparently standing by doing nothing as throngs of President Trump rioters stream through a side entrance to the building. 

"The clip, tweeted by OAN host Christina Bobb Friday, shows dozens of MAGA-hat wearing rioters shouting 'f–king traitors' burst through a set of doors as uniformed US Capitol Police officers, two of whom weren’t wearing masks, stood motionless with their backs to the wall. 

"As more and more marchers streamed into the building to stop a joint session of Congress attempting to certify Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden, the overrun cops stayed frozen in place, doing nothing to stop the insurrectionists, the clip shows."

The Capitol Police work for Congress, which means they were just carrying out orders to stand down.

ITEM 16: The Daily Wire reported, "On Thursday evening, President-elect Joe Biden, responding to the events on Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol, used the incident to inject racism into the discussion about what had transpired, tweeting, 'No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protestors yesterday that they wouldn’t have been treated very differently than the mob that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true — and it’s unacceptable.' "

Actually, Xiden (as a reader calls him) Democrats went to court to stop the feds from protecting federal buildings in Portland, Oregon, during BLM/Antifa riots.

ITEM 17: Reuters reported, "Exceptionally cold weather sweeping through Red China has caused a huge increase in power demand in the world’s largest energy consumer and hampered transportation.

"Frigid weather across north Asia has caught utilities and liquefied natural gas importers off guard as demand for power lowered inventories and pushed spot prices to record levels.

"Red China’s Central Meteorological Station released the first cold warning in 2021 earlier in the week to several regions. Cities such as the eastern port city of Qingdao recorded the lowest temperature in history and the capital city Beijing had coldest day since the 1960s on Jan 7."

Chairman Xi picked the wrong time to ban Australian coal imports.

ITEM 18: Zero Hedge reported, "Miami Doctor Dies After Receiving First Dose Of Pfizer Vaccine."

Nothing to see here, comrade.

ITEM 19: News Max reported, "The Rasmussen poll, one of the most accurate polls of the 2020 election, finds President Trump’s approval is actually rising after Wednesday‘s protests.

"As Democrats move to impeachment and some establishment  Republicans call for the 25th Amendment to remove Trump, the poll finds 48% approve of the President’s job performance.

"A source close to the polling firm tells Newsmax that the rolling survey saw Trump’s approval soar to 51% on Thursday night.

"Trump’s approval has been up overall, jumping from 45% just before Christmas."

After a summer of watching mostly peaceful protests destroy city after city, Americans know what happened on Wednesday was not an insurrection or a coup or any of that crap.

They know a coup when they see one, and they are standing up for its target.

ITEM 20: The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported, "UMass Memorial said a caregiver who may have been involved in the violent riot in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday is no longer employed by the organization."

Violent riot?

It was a peaceful protest at the National Mall by 100,000 people.

I hope the caregiver gets a good lawyer.
