Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.

DC is still a bipartisan cesspool.

ITEM 1: Ten Republicans voted to impeach President Donald John Trump for holding a rally at the National Mall.

The 10 are:

Rep. Liz Cheney-WY

Rep. Herrera Beutler-WA

Rep. Katko-NY

Rep. Kinzinger-IL

Rep. Upton-MI

Rep. Newhouse-WA

Rep. Meijer-MI

Rep. Gonzalez-OH

Rep. Rice-SC

Rep. Valadao-CA

I stopped calling them RINOs because they are the epitome of the what elected Republicans stand for. That they are out of synch with most Republicans matters not.

Primary the 10 and remember, Liz Meghan McCain Cheney is the no. 3 Republican in the House. That is the leadership Republicans seek.

ITEM 2: Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted, "On January 21st, I’m filing Articles of Impeachment on President-elect Joe Biden.

"75 million Americans are fed up with inaction.

"It’s time to take a stand.

"I’m proud to be the voice of Republican voters who have been ignored."

Impeach his wife, too, for posing as a medical doctor when her degree is and Ed.D., which makes her an educrat.

ITEM 3: Red State reported, "On Monday the Washington Post ran a story that Cumulus Media issued a command raising concerns with the on-air talent broadcast by its radio division, Westwood One. Based allegedly on an internal memo that had been leaked, writer Paul Farhi explained the new standard was supposed to be addressing the content on the radio shows in its syndicate, declaring that no on-air personalities would be permitted to continue suggesting the election was fraudulent. Reprisals were promised."

There was just one thing wrong with the story.

The memo exists only in Fahri's head.

But he got a Drudge link and that is all that matters in journalism these days.

ITEM 4: Mitch McConnell apparently is dismayed that he won't get a second impeachment trial.

Via Red State, McConnell said, "“Given the rules, procedures, and Senate precedents that govern presidential impeachment trials, there is simply no chance that a fair or serious trial could conclude before President-elect Biden is sworn in next week.

“Even if the Senate process were to begin this week and move promptly, no final verdict would be reached until after President Trump had left office. This is not a decision I am making; it is a fact.

"The President-elect himself stated last week that his inauguration on January 20 is ‘quickest’ path” for any change in the occupant of the presidency."

Under Senate rules, he would need unanimous consent to bring the Senate back in session. (They are taking a planned vacation.) Cruz and a few others would laugh in his face if he tried this.

A post-presidential impeachment trial is still possible because no one in D.C. follows the Constitution anymore.

ITEM 5: The ABC affiliate in San Antonio reported, "Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the arrest of Rachel Rodriguez for election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully assisting people voting by mail, and unlawfully possessing an official ballot. Each charge constitutes a felony under the Texas Election Code.

"Rodriguez was exposed in a Project Veritas video last fall while she engaged in vote harvesting leading up to the 2020 election. The Election Fraud Division of the Office of the Attorney General reviewed dozens of hours of unedited, raw footage, which led to this arrest.

"Rodriguez acknowledged on video that what she was doing is illegal and that she could go to jail for it. If convicted, Rodriguez could face up to 20 years in prison."

The Steal was not limited to the 6 states stolen. They tried and failed in Texas and elsewhere.

That was why Fox would not call Ohio or Texas when President Trump was well ahead because Fox knew Democrats were stuffing ballot boxes in those states too.

ITEM 6: The National File reported, "The CEO of Gab.com confirmed reports that had been circulating on Wednesday that President Donald Trump was browbeaten out of creating account on free speech social platforms Gab and Parler following his Twitter ban by son-in-law Jared Kushner and social media director Dan Scavino.

"Torba initially reported that he was in contact with the President’s team following last week’s Twitter and Facebook purge, but the President has still not appeared on Gab or now-defunct alt-tech app Parler.

"On Wednesday, reports circulated from CNN and Bloomberg that Kushner and Scavino joined forces to desperately talk the President out of establishing a presence on alt tech."

Gab meanwhile downloaded and posted all of Donald Trump's tweets over the years.

International salvage laws may allow this Gab grab.

But Twitter v. Gab would be an awesome court case.

ITEM 7: The New York Times reported, "Pelosi Pressed Pentagon on Safeguards to Prevent Trump From Ordering Military Action."

Just who does the Orange Man think he is? Commander in chief?

Buried in this story was a nugget uncovered by Flag and Cross.

The story said, "But some Defense Department officials have privately expressed anger that political leaders seemed to be trying to get the Pentagon to do the work of Congress and Cabinet secretaries, who have legal options to remove a president.

"Mr. Trump, they noted, is still the commander in chief, and unless he is removed, the military is bound to follow his lawful orders. While military officials can refuse to carry out orders they view as illegal, they cannot proactively remove the president from the chain of command. That would be a military coup, these officials said."

If true (this is a New York Times report after all) then Nancy is the one breaking the law.

ITEM 8: Just the News reported, "Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said in a video statement on Wednesday that efforts are being made to hold accountable those involved in perpetrating the breach of the Capitol building last week, and that any disruption of the upcoming presidential inauguration will not be tolerated."

Unlike 4 years ago when Democrats rioted in the streets while President Trump gave his inauguration speech.

ITEM 9Republican Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota went on Shepard Smith's CNBC show. Smith demanded to know if Cramer would vote to convict President Trump in an impeachment trial.

Cramer said, "I’ve read my Constitution many times, and in the country, you are afforded due process, I guess unless you are Donald Trump, and so I don’t default to guilty, because that is going against everything that the Constitution stands for and due process."

How odd that loudmouths like Smith who claim without evidence that President Trump is destroying our form of government are the ones who really ignore both precedent and the Constitution.

A post-presidential impeachment is wrong.

Period.

End of story.

ITEM 10: Summit News reported, "Conservative commentator and former baseball star Curt Schilling says that AIG canceled his insurance policy over his 'social media profile,' a new level of de-platforming not yet seen.

He tweeted, "We will be just fine, but wanted to let Americans know that @AIGinsurance canceled our insurance due to my 'Social Media profile.'

"The agent told us it was a decision made by and with their PR department in conjunction with management."

When Obama took office in 2009, he sent busloads of protesters to Connecticut to browbeat AIG officials into giving up their bonuses. That was a lesson learned. AIG is just obeying orders.

Corporate America is run by cowards.

ITEM 11: CNN reported, "Biden aides told congressional allies to expect Covid relief package with roughly $2 trillion price tag."

The story said, "The Biden team is taking a 'shoot for the moon' approach with the package, one lawmaker in close contact with them told CNN, though they added that the price tag could still change. The proposal will include sizable direct payments to American families, significant state and local funding -- including for coronavirus vaccine distribution and other emergency spending measures -- to help those struggling during the pandemic.

"Biden is set to announce the details of his plan in Wilmington, Delaware, Thursday evening."

This will bring inflation and the collapse of the dollar.

Which suits Biden's boss, Chairman Xi, just fine.

I don't know how to stop this runaway freight train. But I know it is coming. The question is when the devaluation comes, whose picture will be on the Billion Dollar Bill: Michelle or Barack?

ITEM 12: United Press International reported, "Lisa Montgomery, the only woman on federal death row, was executed by lethal injection early Wednesday for the 2004 killing of a pregnant woman.

"Montgomery, 52, was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m. at the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Ind., making her the first person executed by the federal government in 2021 and the 11th since the Trump administration resumed federal executions following a 17-year-hiatus last year."

Paragraph 3 quoted her lawyer, who said, "The craven bloodlust of a failed administration was on full display tonight. Everyone who participated in the execution of Lisa Montgomery should feel shame."

This woman killed a woman and tore her baby out of the womb. UPI mentioned that in Paragraph 7.

More executions, fewer murders. Remember, the recidivism rate among the executed is zero.

ITEM 13Reuters reported, "Johnson & Johnson is on track to roll out its single-shot coronavirus vaccine in March, and expects to have clear data on how effective it is by the end of this month or early February, the U.S. healthcare company’s chief scientific officer said.

"Dr. Paul Stoffels in an interview on Tuesday also said J&J expects to meet its stated target of delivering 1 billion doses of its vaccine by the end of this year as the company ramps up production.

"Stoffels said it was premature to say how many doses would be available in March, presuming the company receives emergency authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration."

It will be interesting to see how the Biden administration botches this up.

ITEM 14: Zero Hedge reported, "Exemplifying just how bad things in New York have gotten - and just how willing many are to simply get out of Bill de Blasio's city - a condo on NYC's famed Billionaire's Row sold for a record 51% discount this week.

"The property is a 58th floor apartment in New York's One57 building, according to Bloomberg. The building was once viewed as a symbol of a luxury development boom in New York - a boom that ran face first into the Covid pandemic, as we have written about on Zero Hedge for the last year.

"The condo in question is a 4,483 sq. foot parcel that was purchased in 2014 for $34 million. It was sold this week for $16.75 million.

"The deal is the biggest loss by an owner at the building since it has been erected. In 2020, there were four other sales in the building in which the owner took a 40% loss, at least, according to Bloomberg."

No restaurants.

No nightlife.

No Broadway.

You may as well be in Poca, West Virginia.

The city that never sleeps is in a coma.

ITEM 15: The Daily Wire reported, "On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled for the state of Texas and against the Texas Democratic Party as they decided to leave in place a lower court ruling that rejected Democrats’ attempts to let all eligible voters in Texas vote by mail."

Too little, too late.

ITEM 16: Gab announced, "Gab’s Response To The ADL and CNN."

Apparently the ADL and CNN don't like Gab.

Gab said, "Gab has had regular contact with US federal law enforcement for years to ensure our platform is not used for unlawful purposes. Public safety is our top priority.

"The ADL should be calling for an investigation into Facebook, where the protests were actually organized. Gab is great for a lot of things, but it’s not a utility for organizing events. Facebook, on the other hand, has a dedicated Events feature and there were many Event pages organizing the Jan 6th protests on their platform and several massive Facebook Groups as well.

"Facebook has billions of users, up until last week our site only had about 1.5m users (although this is rapidly growing now by millions.) Facebook is also home to Facebook Messenger, which according to data is by far the largest distributor of child pornography on the internet. Funny how the ADL doesn’t seem to care about that."

***

I won't quote the whole thing but Gab CEO Andrew Torba is taking a Trumpian approach to critics, which makes sense. He markets his company as Twitter without the BS.

So far, so good.

ITEM 17: The Daily Caller reported, "Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert walked around a newly installed magnetometer inside the Capitol on his way to vote, telling the Capitol Police that he cannot be stopped.

"The House installed the new magnetometers Tuesday and requires all members of Congress to walk through them before entering the House of Representatives chamber after rioters supporting Trump stormed the U.S. capitol Wednesday, committing acts of vandalism and violence. As a result of the riot, the electoral college certification process was postponed and members of Congress were forced to evacuate the building."

Ah yes.

Article I, Section 6, which includes the MC Hammer clause: "The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

Can't touch this.

ITEM 18: The National Pulse reported, "A new poll by Data for Progress and shared by left-wing media outlet Vox reveals 43% of Americans feel that 'allegations of voter fraud have made them question the results of the election and Joe Biden’s victory.' "

Wait until they see Biden act as president. Then Americans will ask how in the dickens did he get nominated?

All three "Screech" monstrosities --- I call them "Screech because, like the child actor on Saved By The Bell, they are hideously tall --- are visible from my living room window in the winter, after the leaves have dropped.

I have hated the sight of them ever since they rose in the sky like poison ivy on vines. They are the physical personification of arrogance, social climbing and greed.

What a pleasure it is to read now that the ultra-rich morons who bought apartments in them are now willing to accept ANY offer made by a buyer!

Hell, we escaped, back in 1986. And we didn't have to put $17,250,000 in the Lincoln Tunnel Christmas Tax-Free Slush Fund.

The most complicated issue was, two or so months later, having to patiently explain to the NYC telephone dolts that the reason why the last phone bill wasn't paid was because, gee, we didn't happen to live there any longer.

Bonus: We now know who The Moron of The Century is... the buyer of the apartment. He just LOST $16,750,000.

(The building's name is "One57." The reason for that is, because pretty soon, you see, the price of admission will be $1.57.)

Trivia Department: Long, long ago, before World War I...

57th Street in Manhattan --- "Billionaire's Row" (soon to be downgraded to "Thousandaire's Row") --- used to be the city's center of the bohemian arts.

After WWI, the bohemians migrated down to Greenwich Village, which, a century later, is now, and has been since about 1990, a sterile urban bedroom community infested with Wall Street pimps and the like.

To state that the MSM has zero credibility is to overstate. They have negative credibility - the quickest way to convince me of a lie is to have the MSM report it as truth (and vice versa).
Also: H.L. Mencken wrote in the Baltimore Sun in November of 1938 that when fascism came to America it would be described as anti-fascism, and the Duce to lead it would claim to be an anti-dictator. Yes, we know magnetometers are the correct answer to the storming of the Capitol. All those wishing illegal access will be sure to stand in line to go through the device one-by-one and then create havoc.

  25. You continue to do a fine job, Don.
But on inflation, I think you're wrong:
"This will bring inflation and the collapse of the dollar.

Which suits Biden's boss, Chairman Xi, just fine."

Only places which fail in providing milk-break-clothes and the things normal folk want have inflation problems with money printing/ gov't budget deficits. See Japan, 220% national debt / annual GDP ratio - for 30+ years it's been "too high", and each decade since the 90s has been a "lost decade" for growth.

BUT ... NOT inflation. The printed money is going into the stock market and good-area housing, and maybe bitcoin & crypto & gold.

I used to think money printing "always" would lead to inflation. Now, I'm not sure - what is the limit of high Dow Jones valuations?

Second: please consider talking about how the Dems are suppressing the truth about election fraud. Why are terrified of examining the evidence? Because all examined evidence points to fraud. History (55% max 61% vs 67%??? or more likely 62% legal plus 5% Biden fraud), statistics, dead people, folks who have moved, Mickey Mouse, unreadable or no signature on ballots.

The Dems fear discussion of fraud - because unlike 9/11 conspiracy, or Obama "born in Kenya" conspiracy (despite the dishonest blurb in his early book), or even Holocaust denial, "election fraud" really did happen. That's why it can't be talked about.

How To Read The News In Totalitarianism.
    Posted on January 14, 2021.

    Excerpt:
People acting at variance with what is being reported. I’m sure my mom knew the president was dead because everyone in power was suddenly acting nervous or sniping at each other. (To be fair, it was possible he was unconscious for days, but you know.)

In the same way, the current clown car coming into DC tells us they totes won, with the most votes ever, but the way they’re acting, tamping down all dissent, screaming the big, and ridiculous lies, and trying to get us to accept they’re totes legitimate or be punished if we don’t?

That’s not the way legitimate winners act. That’s the way nervous (and stupid) embezzlers act, when they don’t want you to open the package and find out it contains cut up pieces of newspaper, instead of bank notes.

  27. I used to think elections mattered...Trump's win in '16 was the first true "will of the people" election in years, and will sadly very likely be the last. The deep state always made sure the primaries yielded acceptable (ie, puppets) and didn't really care who won, both were fine....elections just gave the illusion to the rubes they had a say. But Trump snuck by them in '16; nobody expected him to win, all the early big money was going to Jeb! But they started to panic when it began to look like could win, and coincidentally *cough* that was around the time the illegal FISA spying began on his campaign...that was indeed their insurance policy, and they hamstrung him with the bogus collusion SC. Then Ukraine, and then covid. As soon as I heard talk of mail-in voting I knew that would be their plan...just didn't think they would be so blatant....THIS is why they went after Trump hammer and tong from Day One and still are; he wasn't part of the club....can't have THAT

Attitudes like that will make sure its the last. I don't think it is. I have enough faith in people to believe they will get involved in precinct politics.

  28. Nikki Haley has launched a PAC for her presidential bid. The text I received was for a PAC to elect principled conservatives. My immediate reply was STOP. Since the principled neoCONs we have now allowed the steal, I will not support them.

  29. An Ed.D is a fine degree for those who earn it honestly. My Uncle has one in three disciplines (History, Economics, Political Science) and he’s as sharp as any Ph.D you’ll find. OTOH, Jill was given hers as a freebie to grease Bidet*’s palm.

She has done a huge disservice to the good people with Ed.Ds, though I suspect most of these are not of recent years...

  30. ITEM 17 — In which Don demonstrates he has lost all touch with Reality.

    How?

    By quoting the U.S. Constitution.

Don thinks are rulers comply with the U.S. Constitution.

Only a fool would think that.
