Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.

ITEM 1: Zero Hedge reported, "The Great Purge: Twitter Has Suspended More Than 70,000 Accounts Since Friday."

What an ingenious business model they have. Ban the people who provide the free content that you use to peddle ads.

They said communists don't understand capitalism. Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, proved them wrong. By ridding himself of the 75 million who voted to re-elect President Trump, Dorsey kept the 80 million who voted for Biden.

Of course, 20 million of those Biden voters are dead or imaginary.

United Press International reported, "Twitter removes 70,000 QAnon-linked accounts."

Ah, QAnon, the bogey man of the 21st century.

Jim Cramer of CNBC said, "Twitter’s got to come up with a new thesis very, very quickly because I think they always, they never talked about the power of Trump in bringing in people."

Many people need to come up with something new, including CNN and MSNBC because nobody watched Soviet TV.

And under Biden, that is what we will have.

ITEM 2: The Foundation for Economic Education reported, "Facebook Suspends Ron Paul Following Column Criticizing Big Tech Censorship."

He would thank them for proving his point, if he had any way of reaching his followers on Facebook.

Also, Breitbart reported, "Facebook has announced that it will remove all content that mentions Stop the Steal,  a phrase in reference to the 2020 U.S. presidential election that is popular among supporters of President Donald Trump."

After Facebook tagged one of my posts with an inane warning, I stopped using it to promote my blog.

ITEM 3Rusty Weiss reported, "Michael Sherwin, a federal prosecutor, questioned about President Trump’s role in the Capitol riots, refused to rule out criminal charges against the POTUS. He’s the acting U.S. Attorney for D.C. and has repeatedly assured reporters in a press call that he would investigate and charge 'all actors' involved in Wednesday’s riot.

"In September, though, at the height of the Black Lives Matter riots across America that saw vandalism and arson at an exponentially greater degree, Sherwin dropped charges for all but one individual in his district."

Next time, President Trump should just leave the vacancies vacant and refuse to fill them with acting prosecutors and the like. In Term II, he should fire everyone on the first day and start all over again.

ITEM 4: Red State reported, "Fox News Making Changes to Their Daytime Lineup -- Ratings Decline Starting to Be Felt?"

There is less here than meets the eye. Cavuto stays. Baier stays. The only major change is MacCallum gets demoted from the 7 PM slot to the 3 PM slot. She went up against Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and of course lost.

ITEM 5: Beth Baumann reported, "House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) on Sunday called for a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations investigation into Big Tech stifling the new social media platform Parler."

RICO was written to get the Mafia.

Well, Jeff Bezos and the rest have acted like the Mafia. Why not take them to court and seize their assets?

The only reason we have a federal government is to protect our rights.

ITEM 6: Breitbart reported, "Scarborough on Capitol Riot: Can Draw Analogies with Rise of Hitler."

I agree. Hitler used the Reichstag Fire the same way Obama and his minions are using Trespassing at the Capitol to install a police state.

Of course, Scarborough meant President Trump is Hitler.

ITEM 7: Will Chamberlain wrote, "Rein in the abusive Big Tech republic."

He said, "the First Amendment protects against government censorship. But in 2020, most political debate happens on large social-media platforms. Facebook and Twitter are the modern public square. Thus, if our society’s commitment to free speech is to have any meaning, our government must constrain large social-media companies from censoring Americans’ lawful speech.

"Poland, appropriately enough, is leading the way. Their Justice Minister, Zbigniew Ziobro, announced last month that the Polish government would enact a law constraining Big Tech from censoring their citizens. Polish users who are victims of censorship can go to a new Polish court, get an injunction forcing the company to restore their account and their content, on penalty of a fine of as much as 1.8 million euros.

"We should do the same."

It is too late for that.

This should have been done when Republicans had power.

Big Tech is in bed with the communists who will official assume control of the nation on January 20.

ITEM 8: Just the News reported, "Social media company Parler announced Monday that it is suing Amazon, arguing the the company being suspended from Amazon's hosting service violates antitrust laws and breaches the contract established between the two companies.

"Parler, short-form internet posting social media forum that has become particularly popular among conservatives and Trump supporters, is asking the federal judge in Seattle to order the platform be reinstated.

"The complaint accuses Amazon Web Services of applying a political double standard to Parler that stands in stark contrast to its treatment of the more mainstream social media site Twitter."

Jeff Bezos seeks not only to control coverage of the federal government through his Washington Post, but to control the national conversation through his AWS.

Under Obama, we had crony capitalism.

Now we will have corporate communism.

Beware, comrade.

ITEM 9: The Associated Press alleged, "President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence appear to have come to a d├ętente after nearly a week of silence, anger and finger-pointing.

"The two met Monday evening in the Oval Office and had a good conversation, according to a senior administration official. It was their first time speaking since last Wednesday, when Trump incited his supporters to storm the Capitol building as Pence was presiding over certification of November’s election results. Pence and his family were forced into hiding."

The last three words tell you this is fiction not fact.

Forced into hiding?

They have Secret Service protection.

ITEM 10: United Press International reported, "Kim Yo Jong was excluded from a North Korean list for the ruling Workers' Party Politburo on Monday, prompting speculation in the South the her brother, Kim Jong Un, could be preparing an alternative role for her in the regime.

"Pyongyang's state-controlled news agency KCNA reported Monday a new roster for the Politburo, but Kim Yo Jong's name was missing from the list. South Korean news agency Yonhap described the exclusion as a demotion."

In April, UPI told us, "Kim Yo Jong to succeed brother in an emergency."

No one seems to know what goes on in the heart of Kim.

Not even The Shadow knows.

ITEM 11: CNBC reported, "The U.S. government on Monday said it would begin collecting new duties on aircraft parts and other products from France and Germany from Tuesday after failing to resolve a 16-year dispute over aircraft subsidies with the European Union.

"In a notice late on Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the new duties would apply from 12:01 a.m. ET (0501 GMT) on Tuesday as part of the long-running battle over government subsidies to Europe’s Airbus and its U.S. rival, Boeing.

"The notice follows an announcement by the U.S. Trade Representative’s office that it would impose an additional 15% tariff on aircraft parts, including fuselage and wing assemblies, and a 25% duty on certain wines."

I can see the logic of a tariff on aircraft parts.

But slapping a tariff on wine makes no sense. I don't like taxes on booze in any form. Maybe that's why I married the granddaughter of a moonshiner.

ITEM 12: Axios reported, Red "China has constructed a vast string of factories inside the walls of Xinjiang mass internment camps, and Chinese authorities are forcing thousands of Muslim minorities to work in cotton fields, according to two recent investigations.

"Why it matters: Xinjiang products are deeply integrated into lucrative supply chains around the world. The Chinese Communist Party's official embrace of coerced labor will force Western governments and institutions to choose between pleasing business leaders or enforcing universal human rights values.

"Details: In the past three years, the Chinese government has forced hundreds of thousands of Uighurs and other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang to perform seasonal labor in the region's cotton fields, according to a December investigation from the BBC.

"People are sent to the fields as part of a labor transfer program, the BBC reports, drawing on Chinese government documents provided by Adrian Zenz, a leading expert on China's policies in Xinjiang.

"Beijing claims the programs alleviate poverty by providing well-paid employment for rural residents without a regular income. But researchers and rights groups say the labor transfer programs are part of the system of control, indoctrination and forced assimilation the Chinese government has deployed against Uighurs.

"Workers fear they will be sent to detention camps if they don't participate and are often underpaid."

But National Review assured me that we should not impose barriers on Red China because it was engaged in free trade.

The only thing free about it was the labor Red China used.

ITEM 13: CNN announced that Jim Acosta is finally getting to anchor a show.

I suggest he call it Dear Diary.

ITEM 14: Breitbart reported, "An internet service provider (ISP) in the North Idaho and the Spokane, Washington, area has decided to block Facebook and Twitter for its customers after some called in to complain about censorship on the platforms.

"The ISP, Your T1 WIFI, confirmed that it will block Facebook and Twitter from its WIFI service for some customers starting this Wednesday, according to a report by KREM 2."

ITEM 15The Center Square reported, "In a year marred by death from an ongoing pandemic, 2020 also saw record overdose deaths.

"The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that 2020 saw a record year-over-year number of opioid overdose deaths.

"More than 81,230 people died from a drug overdose between June 1, 2019, and May 31, 2020, the CDC provisional data shows. Revisions could drive that figure higher, the agency said."

That's an 18% increase in a single year.

We should have thought our response to the pandemic through.

FINALLY, Kurt Schlichter tweeted, "I think it’s hilarious that I’m not a bit afraid of what you have to say but you’re terrified of what I have to say."

Do not be afraid. All they have to offer is fear.

  1. #11. Don I too was married to the grand daughter of a
    Kaintuck Moonshiner for 32 years....
    Miss her and love her...

  2. Thank you for carrying on with the free press, Mr Surber! Keep the faith, we appreciate you. God will bless you and all of your readers.

    1. And I got some kwon ready for ye if ye decide to switch platforms, a la CTH. The battle is the Lord’s, but dollahs are today’s ammunition.

  3. 6. After Jan 20 Trump will become Emmanuel Goldstein.
    15. How many of those OD deaths did authorities attribute to ConJob-20?

    1. 15: ALL of them. Plus another 5,000 who are still alive.

  4. Replies
    1. I needed two things today that I would normally have purchased on Amazon. Went to Amazon and found the item descriptions. Copied each one and pasted the result into eBay. Found both items at almost the same price and bought through eBay. Putting money into mom and pop businesses and denying it to Amazon. But, I highly recommend "using" Amazon to refine your search before searching and purchasing elsewhere as their product descriptions help you narrow in on the product you want!
      Andy S.

    2. I did the same thing. I will continue to do the same - not buying from Amazon anytime soon.

  5. 7 - Republicans controlled both branches of congress on name only. They didn’t capitalize on the supposed advantage in any way, shape or form.

9 - additional fiction from the article “ Trump incited his supporters to storm the Capitol building”.

13 - Acosta will be an anchor in the ratings. Not that CNN cares.

    1. Item 4: "Fox News... Ratings Decline Starting to Be Felt?"

      "MacCallum gets demoted..."

Fox executives are AMAZING. MacCallum has all the appeal of flash-frozen turkey-rubber, reheated. She'd lose in a ratings contest with the channels on cable TV that no longer exist but haven't been purged off the system yet.

13-Acosta: The Big Flop, arriving on Track 29!

  6. Popular Second City Cop Blog has been taken down yesterday in Chicago. Covered local law enforcement news, and the police brass hated it. How far is the censorship going to go?

    1. Hunting and gun rights blog kicked off by GoDaddy.
      GoDaddy will be sued.

  7. Item 7: I would think the President could issue an Executive Order providing Equal Rights protection to Political Opinion and Legal Political Activities that are protected by the First Amendment. That would make the discrimination in employment and services for Political Opinion illegal just as discrimination for Race, Religion and Sexual Orientation are illegal.

As with the DACA Executive Order, this too should be binding on future Presidents. Then those individuals that were fired for their Political Opinions would have legal recourse against those companies that discriminate against them.

Make it effective as of January 1, 2012.

  8. ITEM 9:

"...when Trump incited his supporters to storm the Capitol building "

Those are the words that tell you this is fiction not fact.

  9. Please ask your wife to send me the recipe her grandfather used. It will be used for medicinal purposes, only, of course.

    1. And for special celebrations, like National Potato Week...

    2. I still grieve that the opportunity to rename the team the Washington Potato Skins has been lost... hell, Boise could use a pro franchise.

  10. Item 7 - In Poland, they now tell jokes mocking the intellect of Americans. They do so with good reason....

    1. Johnny is correct. You have no idea how illiterate those running our classrooms are today.

    2. Ya I do, I was one—until my Continuation High School decided I needed to retire. It turned out that 25+ years of being a construction worker set up a rather unique set of methods to run a classroom of knot headed children. Even those with babies. My leaders decided that I was unreasonable in demanding that they did school work in order to earn credit. I have to admit, however, it was the best job I ever had for 15 years. I loved a lot of those feisty Mavericks.

    3. Teachers should be required to have a decade or two of experience in other areas of life before becoming a teacher. Most 22 yo college grads know little of the real world.

Friend of mine considered becoming a teacher when he was in his 30's. Did some substitute teaching first to see if he liked it. Turned out his stint as a prison guard was useful training and experience there. He decided on another field.

  11. Item 12: 'But National Review assured me that we should not impose barriers on Red China because it was engaged in free trade." National Review has been untrustworthy since 2015 when they went 200% NEVER TRUMP.

  12. I thought Nancy Ice Cream was going to do something really drastic...? She should impeach T every day over the next 8 days. A new silly reason each time (dishonest hair color! etc.) She's got the votes.

  13. Items 3,6,9(it's all related)
According to One America News, the federal bureau of intelligentsia is monitoring online chatter about "armed protests" at all the state capitals by Trump supporters.
I'd advise a word of caution that this may be a blm/antifa/fbi terrorist plot to attack/discredit true patriots like they did last week in d.c.

    1. I rely on independent reporters like Andy Ngo and Elijah Schmitt for truthful reporting on the scene. Neither found a significant, if at all, any Antifa presence among those who stormed the Capital. I thought otherwise initially, but I trust those two to be honest to a fault. The leadership as with the TEA Party local directors like me to kept violence to almost zero by appealing to the better nature of our followers. Unfortunately the frustration has mounted on the right and I understand why the storming of the Capital happened. Arresting the leader of the Proud Boys, a black guy not some white supremacist as the media reportts, at the airport was a stupid move since he has used his influence in the past to settle down confrontations. Sending Capital police home at 10:30 and refusing aid from other law enforcement agencies and the MD NG and Pentagon was also stupid. When one knows that Speaker Pelosi controls the Capital Police, one could believe that a stand down order was given as has been done in many Democratically controlled cities during the riots this past summer to set the stage for the social media crackdown and impeaching the President against.  Twitter supposedly suspended 70,000 commenters as they did over a year ago to me.

  14. Uyghur slaves picking cotton in China.
Woke black NBA players are OK with it.

    1. Well, sure. Some of their ancestors were among those who sold their fellow tribesmen into slavery.

    2. But that won’t keep Queen James from gettin that reparations check!

  15. Item 9 - Scott Adams reported yesterday that Pence and his family could hear chants of "Hang Pence". That would put it into the category of "forced into hiding" no matter who they were with, in my opinion.

    1. They were merely chanting that he was well hung. Some people just can't take a compliment gracefully.

  16. #5 "Well, Jeff Bezos and the rest have acted like the Mafia. Why not take them to court and seize their assets?"

Nunes has a great idea and would have worked in the old America where we had at least a partially functioning DOJ and FBI. In our old America we even had free and fair elections.

  17. As of 1/21 Donald John Trump will still be our president.

3: In Term II, he should fire everyone on the first day and start all over again.

I like the way you put that. And Term II starts a lot sooner than 1/20/25.

5: In the immortal words of Col Mike Kirby, "I like the way you talk".

6: Squinty sides with Goering, Goebbels, Himmler, and Heydrich in the Night of the Long Knives. Trump is intended to be one of the Weimar officials.

8: Under Obama, we had national socialism.

Now we will have corporate communism.

12: The Yellow Gulag. Coming to an America near you.

15: The Deep State Dwarf's real death toll.

FINALLY: For once I agree with him. They are scared to death of us.

The most dangerous man in the world is one with nothing left to lose.

  18. #1 - I still don't know anything about QAnon other than he/she is alleged to be a right-winger.
#4 - I liked McCallum initially until I realized she was a lefty too. Too bad, so sad, bye bye.
O/T - If you missed #pelosilovestrump yesterday on Twitter, it was GLORIOUS! Still going on, too.

  19. Don, my paternal grandfather's brother served 5 years for making white liquor in the 1940's. We also had a shirttail relation named Red Wilson who played banjo and violin in Nashville backup bands for 30 years, and went to the pokey about the same time for the same offense. Great Uncle Floyd never made another drop and became a deacon in his church. Red, OTOH, never SOLD another drop. He still ran off a few gallons every year and gave it away to family and friends. Smooth as spring water and kicked like a mule. A Yankee who married into the family once asked Red "I hear this shine is pretty good if you age it some. Is that true?" Red spit a big ol' stream of tobacco juice and said "I dunno. I kept some a week once and I couldn't tell a damn bit if difference."

  20. Jim ASScosta hosting a show?

That'll go over like a lead balloon. What a dope.

    1. The only sponsors that will sign up for his program will be the diaper companies.

  21. 1. Twitter's business plan:
    1. Ban all products (if you're not paying for it you're not the customer. You're the product)
    2. ...
    3. Profit!

    2. How do you think FacePlant will respond to #StolenElection?

    3. "Show me the Republican and I'll show you the crime."...or something like that.

    4. What's a F.o.x N.e.w.s? Some nature show or something?

    5. "The only reason we have a federal government is to protect our rights." Really? Which branch of the Federal Empire is that?

A statement like that would be where the Mom comes over and pats the little one's head and goes, "Yes, Dear. I'm sure that's true."

    6. It is generally accepted that the Reichstag Fire was a false flag operation. That would make Scarborough playing the part of one of Goebbels' minions.

    9. T to P: "Nice career you used to have there. Too bad something happened to it."

    10. For those who claim the U.S. is a Democracy, remember that North Korea is a democracy, too. It's the People's Democratic Republic of Korea. See, right there in the name. That proves it.

The Soviet Union was a Democracy, too. Voting was mandatory.

    12. See. That's why I call them Slavers. Because they enslave. Any opportunity they get.

    13. Maybe his mother will watch.

    15. They did think it through? Since the U.S. is now a slave country, the Plague response is pretty much a smashing success.

My favorite meme is the gruff Viking looking fellow going, "What is it like to be so weak that mere words can hurt you?"

  22. “CNN announced that Jim Acosta is finally getting to anchor a show”

That’d be a much finer sentence with the word “boat” appended to the end of it.

  23. Google pay 390$ reliably my last paycheck was $55000 working 10 hours out of consistently on the web. My increasingly youthful kinfolk mate has been averaging 20k all through continuous months and he works around 24 hours reliably. I can't trust how direct it was once I attempted it out. This is my essential concern...:) For more info visit any tab on this site Thanks a lot GOOD LUCK......._
