Tuesday night saw Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Laura Ingraham finish in the top 5 of all cable TV shows as conservatives stand by them. But the rest of the Fox News schedule trailed. CNN held 12 of the top 17 shows on cable all day, according to Show Buzz Daily.
That meant from noon to midnight, no CNN show was out of the top 17 -- out of all shows on cable.
A week after spiking the ball for Biden, Fox is losing to the worst network in TV history.
Well, everyone on cable is.
And to be fair, the best MSNBC could do was see Rachel Maddow finish No. 24. The ratings are based on adults under 50.
It all turned around on Election Night when Chris Stirewalt called Arizona for Biden, but refused to call Ohio or Texas alleging that they were too close to call. A week later other outlets still had not called Arizona while President Donald John Trump romped in Ohio and Texas, carrying those states by 8 and 6 points respectively.
The Los Angeles Times reported, "CNN averaged 5.941 million viewers and Fox News Channel 5.726 million for its prime-time programming between Nov. 2 and Sunday, according to live-plus-same-day figures released Tuesday by Nielsen.
Fox News Channel had been the most-watched cable network 40 of the previous 41 weeks."
Only NBC bested CNN and that came because of Sunday Night Football which raised its 7-day average to 6.33 million viewers.
Fox dropped like a rock as it fell from a record 14.158 million viewers on Election Night to under 3 million on Saturday night as it showed the Biden victory super spreader just like CNN and MSNBC -- who drew 9 million and 6 million viewers, respectively.
Conservative rivals are circling.
The Blaze reported, "Fox News has had to weather numerous incidents that have caused many of their previous fans to seek alternative news outlets, including the YouTube channel of BlazeTV host Steven Crowder.
"Fox News was excoriated by allies and supporters of the president after they called the state of Arizona early on Election Day before any other news outlets. When pressured by online outrage to change their call, Chris Wallace said that the Fox News decision desk would not waiver in its decision to call the state. Biden currently holds a lead of just over 11,000 votes in the state.
"On Monday, an off-air video of a Fox News host condescendingly dismissing comments about the election call from a guest surfaced on social media and fueled more outrage.
"President Donald Trump has also criticized Fox News many times over his term, often when they don't give him what he perceives to be the best coverage."
Newsmax is getting some attention. Emily VanDerWerff of Vox reported, "My two days watching Newsmax, the network waging war on Fox News from the right."
Her story said, "The network is gambling that it can win a larger audience of Trump fans by parroting the Trump campaign argument that the election isn’t settled until the Electoral College meets in December, and anything can happen until then, and anyway, there was a ton of fraud, didn’t you know? (I contacted Newsmax on Monday to ask for their reasoning for not calling the election and have yet to hear back. But all of the reasons I just cited are ones it has presented on air.)
"And at a time when the president has lost affection for Fox News, it just might work."
The president is not the only one who bailed on Fox.
In the short term, Fox News is still doing well, buoyed by its casual viewers. We will see in a month or two just what the actual damage among the network's hard core viewers.
But for now, CNN has breezed past Fox in non-prime time audiences. If it is apathy taking its toll, that's not a problem. If it is OANN and other rivals, Fox needs damage control.
Commonwealth judge says PA must toss segregated ballots.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the rats are deserting the ship.
I know you mean well, but really, must we be compared to rats merely because the FOX ship was steered into the iceberg by Lancie Murdoch and his evil management?
DeleteI followed them for years...but never again. Only Carlson and Bartiromo.
ReplyDeleteCharles Goodspeed I agree
DeleteAnd Levin. And Hannity.
Deletethat will teach them, you just watching the shows you watch anyway. oh wait. no, that won't hurt them at all. either quit watching the network all together, or just stop pretending you care what they do.
DeleteCarlson, Bartiromo, and Lou Dobbs.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the line-up can suck eggs. Hannity is on our sides, but hard for me to listen to, as he constantly goes through his litany of Trump accomplishments and the injustices done to Trump. All true, but hearing them repeated ad nauseum is irritating to me.
Much like when he was ranting nightly about Jeremia Wright GD America
DeleteTrue dat. Tucker is 10X better than Hannity, if for no other reason than he says something different each night.
Deletebesmear, besmirch... dirty Hillary bought and paid for dirty dossier... busy news night... the architect... oh I’m no lawyer but...
Deletewe do ‘shots for Hannity’ on his catch phrases. haven’t remembered the last 15 min of his show for months
Well...you just made another old lady laugh..."the last 15 min..."
DeleteGiven that most young people do not get the majority of their news from television perhaps the unintended consequence of conservatives moving to streaming services and away from cable will enlarge the conservative news services footprints on streaming to the point that millennials will start watching too.
ReplyDeleteIt saddens me when I think of my childhood, at the beginning of broadcast TV: the entire family would gather around one TV & watch the same programs. The next day at school, all us kids (hey, fellow kids!) would discuss the TV shows we'd seen the night before.
DeleteSince we only had two or three channels to choose from, most of us watched the same shows; we had a shared American culture back then. We laughed at the same jokes, cried at the same sad dramas, and thrilled to the same action films. Cowboy shows were big back then: we all learned as kids that good guys were honest (even tho sometimes misunderstood,) never shot a man in the back, and acted like gentlemen- unless a woman was involved ;)
Nowadays kids each watch their own choice of TV show, many of them aren't what my parents would've considered OK for children (not at ALL!) the language is often foul & the morality is notable for its absence.
We no longer have much of an American culture. We have gone tribal. Now what was once a high-trust culture is untrusting; everyone keeps their door locked, and neighborly gatherings are fewer and fewer, since we have less and less in common with our neighbors.
Even the "news" that people get from TV isn't the same. The "news" on CNN, and now Fox, isn't actually news at all: it's a narrative, peddled as part of a propaganda effort. It's really hard to find accurate reporting, and when you do- no one believes it.
I wish I had a solution to this conundrum.
Papa Rupert, remember, bought MySpace for $500+ million, and sold it for about $35 million.
ReplyDelete(So much for the evil genius of capitalism...)
Make Rox the younger Murdoch's MySpace!
Groann.... 'Make FOX' etc
DeleteThank you. I needed something that topped AOL CEO Randy Falco's spending $100M on a company that AOL sold back to the sellers a year later, in the process losing $99,000,000.
DeleteOf course, AT&T paying billions for Time-Warner is and probably will be forever #1.
Pound for pound however, no one will ever touch Mike Tyson blowing $300M in the 1980s-90s.
Well, there was Al Jazzeera shelling out $600 million to buy Al Gore's fledgling news network and having to write it off entirely. That's why I don't hate Gore even though his climate change rants are full of crap.
DeleteBeen say'n for years,"Faux Views" is a limited hang-out/controlled opposition, excepting for - days are numbered - Tucker. The "woke wench wife" of the soy-boy CEO will see to that cuz . . . profitability is of no consequence. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that Juan is giving "it" "rim jobs". Eeeeew.
ReplyDeleteHey Fox....keep you Never Trumper anchors while hiring Donna Brazile, Juan Williams, Marie Harf, Mary Ann Marsh, Chris Hahn and Leslie Marshall who are all left wing losers. Fox anchors NEVER challenge these loons on their false statements but the anchors always attack conservative making statements.AMF!
ReplyDeleteIf Arizona can get somebody other than Ray Charles to count the votes they may be done before January.
ReplyDeleteThat said, now that a Federal judge has ruled in Pennsylvania and Georgia is doing a recount, I don't see the tactical strategy any more for dragging it out in Arizona.
We need to spot audit the vote in every state. Really determine if there is “widespread” election fraud. We also should contest every close state, because winning and winning by a landslide are not the same.
DeleteRay'd be GRRREEEEEAAAAAAT! Being dead this last 16 years...(June, '04), I'm guessing he's not gonna do that.
DeleteSam L. Why not? He probably voted this year. Dem, of course.
DeleteThere are literally millions of reasons to audit EVERY vote in EVERY state!
DeleteThis is why:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/11/breaking-exclusive-analysis-election-night-data-states-shows-millions-votes-either-switched-president-trump-biden-lost/
I'm not watching anybody or anything on Fox or Fox Business anymore.
ReplyDeleteIf Foxnews apologizes say Pr #Trump won and gives everyone a free #MAGA hat and Sweatshirt at an outdoor concert by me We should forgive them . Oh and Ainsley apologizes and give me a personalized Bikini photo too.

As long as people keep their subscriptions to cable, Fox will continue their cut of the package. You are not hurting Fox as much just by cutting their ratings only.
ReplyDeleteBoycott their sponsors like the left does. No more my pillow.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteCable subscriptions? Are those still around? I stream everything, mostly through Amazon’s Fire TV. I’ve been getting FNC via subscription to Hulu, but due to the Pandemic Panic, most broadcast stations have delayed or canceled their Fall lineup of shows, so there’s basically nothing on Hulu I was watching except Fox. Two days ago I canceled Hulu, so Fox News is now banished from my TV. The Fire TV stick lets me download the Newsmax and OAN apps, so that’s what I’ll be watching.
DeleteAnd Amazon Prime provides all the entertainment I need. I love the British cop shows, like “New Tricks” and “Father Brown.”
DeleteIf people who waste their lives watching cable news would organize and take over precinct politics they would get far more done for their posterity.
DeleteI hope Trump loses and starts TrumpTV. He could do a lot more damage to the progressive worldview that way.
Never forget culture determines politics not vice versa. And media influences culture.
DeleteTaking over some of the media would be much more powerful than taking over DC where your policies can be reversed in due time.
The networks have become all Leftist. I wonder if our Leftist Lords are thinking about some sort of revenue-sharing scheme. I mean all of our (socialist) sports networks (MLB, NFL, etc) do it.
ReplyDeleteFCKU FAUX NEWS
ReplyDeleteI have always maintained that Fox aka Faux was merely the furthest right of the left wing enimedia. I dumped them completely about five years ago. I occasionally checked their website, but quit that as well a while back.
ReplyDeleteWatched Major League last night on Pluto and that owner immediately brought current Fox management to mind.
ReplyDeleteSince 2008 I only watched FOX News. At that time I believed that slogan they kept telling us..."Fair and Balanced". Now "Un-Fair and Imbalanced" is the correct slogan. The question is when did FOX TV transform in FUX TV? I think I have an answer and I can convey it by describing a visual picture: Paul Ryan is pushing a wheelchair with a frail Rupert Murdoch sitting in the chair and they are moving rapidly towards the Grand Canyon Overlook. Maybe someone can create a video of that?
ReplyDeleteDispatch all of Fox, not just their "news" division.
ReplyDeleteYou need to NOT WATCH ANYONE on Fox. They will use the profits from the successful shows like Tucker and Laura to keep their daytime alive. You must quit cold turkey to make a difference. If you want to watch Tucker, watch one of the bootleg youtube rebroadcasts.
ReplyDeletewatch one of the bootleg youtube rebroadcasts.
DeleteBingo! Tucker is the only one I watch on youtube. For FREE. Cut the cable stop being a sucker!
NEWSMAX!
ReplyDeleteHope it’s ok to post link. Dog voting.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/my-dog-voted-in-the-presidential-election/
One Kentucky town elected a dog as Mayor lol
ReplyDeleteI’m watching OANN except for Tucker, Hannity, and Laura, and not going back.
ReplyDeleteI read that if you watch them online in Privacy mode that they don’t get any clicks!
DeleteThem Murdoch boys must be even dumber than the Cuomos
ReplyDeleteThe Murdochs have inherited so much money that they do not need Fox News to make any money at all. Free to be the new. CNN.
DeleteI agree Fox has lost sight of how they got up to #1 in the past. Now I wonder about conservative sites. I see something earthshaking on Gateway Pundit, but it's not mentioned anywhere else. Isn't GP legit? This is the one I'm referring to:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/11/boom-trump-tweets-report-dominion-deleted-2-7-million-trump-votes-nationwide-data-analysis-finds-221000-pennsylvania-votes-switched-president-trump-biden/
I have been following Gateway Pundit for 5 years. They are rock solid and correct any mistakes. Jim and Joe Hoft (twins) have been attacked from all sides. Yrs they often have analysis you dont see elsewhere because Joe is an economics and maths expert. Stop throwing shade on a fine site.
DeleteAnd disclosure: I did have an article I wrote published on Gateway during the 2016 Republican primaries.
DeleteI wasn't disparaging the site. I wondered why such breakthrough news wasn't being picked up and posted on other conservative sites. When I didn't see what they said showing up elsewhere I was wondering why not.
DeleteI do visit Gateway Pundit, and trust it more than many online sites, and I think they've got a dynamite story there. Was there huge vote fraud? Yer dam tootin' there was!
DeleteIt's no wonder that the #FakeNewsMedia won't touch it, China wouldn't like it, & neither would the 'progressive' communists here!
Lou Dobbs on Fox Business is still worth watching, but that is all.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch TV, but I do catch Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartrimono on YouTube.
DeleteMaria's broken some huge stories, and she's not following the Faux ban about reporting on vote fraud!
Don, I'd like to revisit a post you made September 10th:
ReplyDeletehttps://donsurber.blogspot.com/2020/09/why-stealing-election-aint-easy.html
"'Since we are universally talking about cheating in favor of Biden, that means he is the one risking loss of votes. The key states in this election will be PA (11/11), MI (11/23), WI (12/1), and MN (11/24). Of those PA is probably the most important, since without Florida, Biden has no path to victory if he loses PA. So by 11/11/2020 PA has to certify its election or those 20 EVs fall on the ground.'
That November 11 deadline in Pennsylvania is ironclad. Hillary -- through a paid-off Jill Stein -- challenged the Pennsylvania deadline, and the judge said no."
Today is November 12th. What happened to that deadline? =0[.]o=
PA certification deadline is Nov. 23rd
DeleteHere is why we are not watching Fox News except for Lou Dobbs, Hannity, Ingraham and Carlson. These anchor s do not lie but the rest....can go pound sand. - https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2020/11/12/disgraced-fox-news-retracts-false-house-race-projection-8-days-later/
ReplyDeleteI left Fox for Newsmax this week but will still watch Tucker and Hannity
ReplyDelete"Fox News has had to weather numerous incidents that have caused many of their previous fans to seek alternative news outlets..."
ReplyDeleteThe news hacks have been bombarded with and voluntarily ingested so much self-pity-poisoned propaganda, they can't create a simple truthful sentence.
What in fact actually happened:
"Pro-Communist Fox News on-air personnel have successfully seized control of the network. Their ratings then completely collapsed as the majority of their usual viewers absolutely HATED what they were watching and abandoned the Fox channel."
IT doesn't MATTER where they have gone. They are GONE.
Fox News did not "weather incidents."
Fox News committed suicide.
"Trump campaign enjoys minor victory in Pennsylvania lawsuit over voter ID
ReplyDelete"By Ebony Bowden November 12, 2020 | 6:59pm" (copied 11/13/20 12:10 am).
MINOR?!
Ebony is another FOX-NY Post reporter who on election Night got the Riot Act read to her by Lance Murdoch and Co. and overnight went from telling the truth to parroting the FOX-TWITTER-GOOGLE-PRAVDA party line.
Check to see if she's blinking out Morse Code "SOS" signals to the Red Cross reps who are inspecting the NY Post gulag.
"Today, the Soviet Union is no more... and our nation faces different crises. But the tendency of journalists and intellectuals to uphold polite hypocrisies, to roam in packs, to mindlessly echo each other and chase each other's approval, now instantly registered on Twitter, is the same as it ever was."
ReplyDelete--- Editorial, NY Post, 2020 (well prior to the election).
11/13/20: And now the NY Post is chasing The NY Times, begging for approval.
A commenter there said, "So you're telling me that this election has gone to the dogs."
ReplyDeleteYep, it sure has! The lady didn't know who her dog had voted for, but I know: it's Basement Biden!

ReplyDeleteThe fact that Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham are the attractions that pull in the big dollars for Fox, that will not stop the woke management from pushing them out.
ReplyDelete
