"You both have insulted 60 Minutes and me"

Pardon any typos, but I am writing this on the fly because I laughed so hard at Lesley Stahl's DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? moment with Vice President Pence that I just had to postpone the post I had written for 3 PM.

At 2:59 PM.

For real.

She said to the vice president, "You both have insulted 60 Minutes and me."

It's like that Chiffon margarine commercial: It's not nice to fool Mother Nature.

I am laughing so hard, I know this post will be Typo City.

The president of the United States of America gave Stahl an exclusive interview for Sunday's 60 Minutes show. They went on for 36 minutes before it ended.

60 Minutes said he walked out on her.

He replied by releasing the video of the unedited interview. He posted it on Facebook.

CBS took umbrage, posting "Trump administration violates agreement and releases 60 Minutes interview ahead of Sunday broadcast."

So sue.

The network said, "The White House's unprecedented decision to disregard their agreement with CBS News and release their footage will not deter 60 Minutes from providing its full, fair and contextual reporting which presidents have participated in for decades. 60 Minutes, the most-watched news program on television, is widely respected for bringing its hallmark fairness, deep reporting and informative context to viewers each week.  Few journalists have the presidential interview experience Lesley Stahl has delivered over her decades as one of the premier correspondents in America and we look forward to audiences seeing her third interview with President Trump and subsequent interview with Vice President Pence this weekend."

Now Americans can see for themselves what he said and what she said.

CBS thought this next exchange was pertinent.

Our president: "The biggest scandal was when they spied on my campaign. They spied on my campaign, Lesley."

CBS: "Well, there's no real evidence of that. You know, this is '60 Minutes.' And we can't put on things we can't verify."

And yet the spying was verified.

And of course 60 Minutes does not verify its stories.

In November 2013, NPR reported, "'60 Minutes' Apologizes For Benghazi Report: 'We Were Wrong.'"

The network said it had an exclusive interview of a security guard who was there.

Within days the New York Times and Washington Post debunked the story.

The unverified story.

But my point is not to get involved in this spat.

No, I am just laughing at the arrogance of Stahl and CBS.

After talking to the president for 36 minutes, she interviewed the vice president.

CBS: "You both have insulted 60 Minutes and me by not answering any of our questions and by giving set campaign speeches that we’ve heard both of you give at rallies."

Our vice president: "Well, Lesley, I appreciate the speech that you just gave, but I’ve answered all your questions. And I’ve spoken about the things the American people care about."

You cannot parody a woman as arrogant and ignorant as Stahl.

This story will change not one vote, but the story does show why it is OK to dismiss 60 Minutes and CBS as lightweight because Stahl just verified that she is made of balsa.

UPDATE AT 3:36 PM: Megyn Kelly tweeted, "Actually she tried to mock him (re: the economy) by saying 'u know that’s not true,' & then when he doubled down she retreated: 'I’m not going to fact check u now.' But she just tried. In an effort to sound tough. & then didn’t have her facts ready. Ouch."

Maybe Stahl should have consulted Kelly before entering the White House because the best way to not burn your fingers is to ask someone how they burned their fingers.

    2. There is no doubt there are many Commie Karens scheming their evil plans right now on how they are going to assassinate our great President.

The Commie Karen from Canada who sent the White House ricin and was caught at the Border with Canada with a gun, ammunition, and a knife; with the ambition to get to our President is just the tip of the iceberg of crazed evil anti-American Commies

This is why we have the U.S. Secret Service.

    1. Comparable to Dan Rather's disastrous attempt at slandering President Bush just before the 2004 election.

HEY LESLIE, how did THAT one turn out, hmmmm?

Yesterday, I thought I might have gone too far when I said that "if you think Nancy Pelosi is arrogant, she's a bat boy in A-Ball compared to Stahl."

Thank you, Leslie. There's no doubt about it now!

My thanks go to Don Surber for taking the time to set this all out in print.

I'm laughing equally as hard at this brazen witch who thought she could get away with the stuff these people pulled back in the 1990s when there was no Internet and no way to counterattack when ABCCBSNBCNYTimnes slandered people without consequences.

In case it matters, if Leslie thinks she's pissed off today, just wait until she finds out what the next six days bring to her.

Of course, she could just cut her losses. People like Stahl are notorious for doing the exact opposite, thus doubling/tripling the original price of indulging in their Streisandian rage and self-pity.

    3. Anyone who can provoke Leslie Stahl into 60 Temper Tantrums in one day can't be all that bad.

Her post-Interview statement is hilarious. The sad thing is, she probably thinks she's telling the truth.

Heck, Chris Wallace's father was notorious for boasting about being the program's "fixer" when helping Tiger Woods burnish his (self-)tarnished image (in the equally corrupt act, if I remember this correctly, of publicizing the parent company's publishing company that was hawking Wood's "book").

This high-handedness lode of rot which I've personally witnessed runs from top to bottom.

In 1985, I interviewed at CBS, and was stunned at their magnanimous offer of an annual salary of $11,000. Which would have been a magnificent offer in, say, 1920.

Seriously. They expected their employees to subsidize the company exactly at the same time when they were starting in on their ever-increasingly exorbitant hiring of "stars," which of course led to CBS's back-to-back multi-million dollar fiascos, Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric.

Maybe Sally Struthers can do some ads pleading with us to adopt the CBS management before they perish.

I know I'd donate a dime or too. Wouldn't you?

  4. Like others have said for 4 yrs now, we finally have a president that absolutely REFUSES to sit back, allow his work to be lied about, ridiculed and disrespected WITHOUT punching back twice as hard! Is main reason he is loved by millions, standing up to the totally corrupt national press like NO OTHER has ever done. Reagan could barely be allowed to hold this presidents jockstrap in comparison!

This is one of the reasons we taped the interview. We knew there was zero chance 60 Minutes would air a discussion on Joe Biden’s foreign corruption.

This exchange between Trump and Lesley Stahl is insane. She repeatedly insists the Biden laptops “can’t be verified” so reporters shouldn’t talk about it.

Trump asks her why it can’t be verified.

Her answer: “Because it can’t be verified.”

  21. I had my own experience with "60 Minutes." Let's just say that one of their undercover investigators tried to entrap me with his questions, but I gave him the wrong answers and never heard from him again. He subsequently found another sucker to pounce on, which is how I knew this was "60 Minutes."

Falls/Kingsley field. We had an visit by a 60 Min crew. We used a boarding ladder to get into the Aircraft. I was washing the retardant off the plane when these two showed up cameraman and talking head. I saw them arguing with e Tanker base manager over access. I went on Bard and told the Captain. we pulledth eladder up. "Can we come on board.?" Captain said "No" "All we want is an interview about your C-130." Captain says "No" again."By the Way this isn't a C-130, see the big Gray airplane sitting over there?" talking head responded:"Uh,yeah." "Ok that is a C-130 this a DC7 big difference." The 60 minutes crew looked at each other and started over to the C-130 which was clear across the hot, sticky ramp a good 1/4 mile. The Captain calls the C-130 on the handheld raid0 Tells them to be ready. They were. they lock the Aircraft up, and call the MP's as the Day off area was on the Air Force side of the line. Near the old Alert Hangars which were still active. The 60 min crew were half way across when the MP's showed them out.. enjoyed that..

  22. That was hilarious. Stahl proved herself to be an ignorant, inept and lying fool. Or is that tool? 60 Minutes has been trash for years and those who watch it still think they are living in the 1970's. Even though the show was biased in the 70's, that bias was obvious even to slow grade schoolers by the 1980's. Stahl has almost as much credibility at this point as Dan Rather and Brian what'shisname ...William? of pmsnbc. Unfortanately, Stahl doesn't meet PMSNBC's high standards of integrity, so she can't go there. She was so vapid, that I wonder if she is suffering from the same senility as Biden.

He was transferred to none other than 60 Minutes!

Needless to say, whenever he walked in the door over at 60M, people dove under their desks and jumped out the windows in order to have nothing to do with him.

  23. Unless you're one of their favs (and thus will get only softball questions), there's a rule of thumb for anyone who is going to be "interviewed" (sic) by a "journalist" (sic).

It's not going to be an interview - it's going to be a deposition. Just treat it as such.

(Methinks that PDJT already understands this...)

  24. Hear me out, during the Obama years I saw an interview with Matt Greoning (The Simpsons creator) where he spoke about an unimportant voice actor who he had fired, because he was a jerk. The other actors who were asked about it said essentially the same thing, except they added "he could have been part of The Simpsons, but he messed it up." They spoke about it as if they were part of a holy institution, no joke. Ever since then I have noticed progressives trying to create heroes, where there were originally none. Just recently I read about progressives wanting media types to be considered the same as Military members who went to war. The left has been trying to socially engineer us into believing the media (news, entertainment, music etc) need to be held in high regard by virtue of their virtuous careers. Just something I have been noticing, they're trying to turn Don Lemon into Sergeant York.

  25. It just occurred to me that the reason why this scrawny little chicken (Stahl) is so petulant is that her humiliation is largely the result of her having hermetically sealed herself in the fawning, obsequious world of Manhattan left-wing media.

No one challenges her as she goes around in her orbit. She's too powerful, and too many people need things from her and CBS.

Thus she had become smug, flat-footed, out-of-shape, and instinctively / treacherously guided by the red herring of the phony cooperation of just about everyone she meets (and pays).

And then, armed with the unanimous opinion of her peers (although, in her own mind, she is peerless) --- well, here's what another Manhattan media drone-clone, Fran Leibowitz, had to say in The New Yorker magazine (04/09/20):

"Really, there are this many morons? Are you kidding me? There are this many people who think that Donald Trump’s doing a good job?

"... Including me, who up until the election of Donald Trump had a firm belief that I was always right. I spent an entire year going around the country telling thousands of people, 'He has zero chance of winning.'

[Of course, Fran means "I" and "I'm," not "you" and "you are."]

"After that, I realized, not only are you not always right—when you are wrong, you are the worst wrong you can possibly be."

Gee, Fran, if you're that well-acquainted with the consequences of your intellectual arrogance, is it possible that maybe, just maybe, President Trump knows a thing or two?

    Ha! Fat chance:

"Has this [Covid] crisis shown us anything about Donald Trump that we didn’t know before?

"No. Every single thing that could be wrong with a human being is wrong with him.

"But the single most dangerous thing about Donald Trump is how unbelievably stupid he is."

Leslie Stahl, resident genius at CBS-Pravda, thought much the same, and --- OUCH! That black CBS eye looks bad!

"Leslie, care for a raw steak or two to put on it? What's that, only 25% of the steak* can be applied? Well, if we order it to go, instead, can we buy all of it?"

(*The Cuomo-de Blasio Municipal Economic Suicide New Deal of 2020 STILL limits the seating capacity of Manhattan restaurants to 25% of its former limit --- that is, of the remaining fifty percent of the Manhattan restaurants that haven't already been ruthlessly destroyed by Cuomo & de Blasio. Both of them remind me Hitler with his fanatical "no retreat" orders to his Army in Russia in December 1941, and they're getting identical results.)
