Rural Americans will save the USA on Tuesday

The two-lane from Poca west to Eleanor is freshly paved and smooth as it follows the Kanawha river. The hills on the north and the flatter land along the river have modest houses, trailers, and an occasional store. There's a nice cemetery. Today you will see two presidential signs. One for President Donald Trump, the other for third-party candidate Jo Jorgensen and her running mate Spike Cohen.

What we lack in political signs, we make up for in American flags. And this year the American flag is a silent signal of support for the president's re-election.

It is not that Northern Putnam County is particularly Republican. Our two state delegates are a Democrat and a Republican. The coal miners first came here, and the chemical workers who settled here later were largely Democrat. But slowly it has come around to accepting a few Republicans.

President Trump would have made a fine Democrat 60 years ago when Kennedy ran. West Virginia loved Jack Kennedy.

They also loved FDR. Eleanor was a public works project named for his bride.

I put President Trump on the same level now. He is a rebel and a game-changer. His money doesn't matter in a state where poverty lives next door no matter where you go. JFK and FDR were filthy rich. John D. Rockefeller IV served two terms as governor.

As I read Salena Zito's columns about eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, I nod my head. I know these people. Politically, they are the descendants of Andrew Jackson's political revolution 50 years after the American Revolution. Indeed, their ancestors held the Whiskey Rebellion that forced President Washington to send in troops to quell.

They are part of Rural America that includes hillbillies, (mountain Williams as they call them in Tennessee), rednecks, Yoopers, and more. I could run some long sweet piece that lovingly romanticizes them as true Americans and patriots. They are, of course, but many patriots live in the suburbs and the cities.

Besides I also know that people in rural America can be just as cunning and deceitful as anyone. We have an opioid problem, so who are we to look down our noses at anyone?

What distinguishes rural America is that it is slow to change. We remain American no matter how popular or unpopular that may be.

Patriotism is unpopular 18 years after 9/11. Obama fundamentally transformed America into a eurotrash state. We rejected that. We want what we had because what we had worked.

President Trump delivered what we had. Factories began coming back. Jobs started cropping up. The unemployment rate tumbled to 3.5%. Wages went up faster than inflation for the first time in decades. Black people, Hispanic people, women, and every other demographic group enjoyed their lowest unemployment on record.

All that ended in March in the pandemic panic. It wiped out millions of small businesses.

Democrats believe they can blame President Trump and elect the Human Doorknob president.

They told the pollsters to rig the polls, and then made the mistake of believing their polls.

Their plan was to use hatred of Donald Trump and fear of covid-19 to elect Biden, who would then turn the presidency over to Kamala Harris who would then do whatever the deep state told her to do.

It would be springtime for Iran and Red China.

Winter for everyone else.

And the plan may have worked. I don't know. I always felt it would backfire, and on October 1, the plan backfired bigly. President Donald John Trump got covid 19. That was the game-changer.

The media and other Democrats were delirious. And when he went to Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, they went ballistic and began planning his removal from office under the 25th Amendment.

I looked at it as the end of the covid 19. I wrote, "Covid 19 will just make him stronger."

And it did.

He was cured in 3 days.

Now there is no rash reason to fear covid 19 again.

In cities, I can see some need to be concerned. All those people living atop one another spreads any virus or disease.

But out in the country?

Nyah. Wear a mask at the store, but enjoy life in the open.

Now Democrats are stuck with Biden, an imbecile who cannot speak more than 5 minutes without screwing up.

And instead of having millions of volunteers knocking on doors, Democrats went to the telephones to do this. And we know just how much people like telemarketers.

But they had to play up the fear of covid-19, so that is what they went with.

Now Democrats need big rallies fast, but Biden has all the charisma of a sidewalk. The media plays up that he is responsible with his socially distanced rallies of 15 -- unlike that irresponsible Donald Trump and his rallies of 15,000 people.

Those rallies are out at the airports in the boonies.

Between his rallies and the Republican Get Out The Vote effort, President Trump will win re-election. And most of his support will come from rural America again.

And we will save the country again on Tuesday.

You are welcome.

Either way. Temptation would have a splendid track record if any of it ever had worked out for the best.

They will provide the most delicious of meltdowns, weeping, wailing, rending of hair, maybe even flagellation! Far better than sackcloth and ashes, their tears will flow like rivers!

(And what's with this "if The Donald wins" rubbish? He's got it IN THE BAG!)

I'm familiar with that FDR love. My uncle Harry Jordan was a coal miner from Mingo Co. & went to Winfield in mid-30s to work building the locks there. He was one of the first to settle in Elanor. Great guy, but ardent (D). My hardcore (R) dad always joked that Harry thought the sun rose & set in FDR's anus.

That's what's happening now. Another revolution against the Haavahds and Trump is Old Hickory.

Patriotism is unpopular 18 years after 9/11.

Only with the people with whom it was unpopular in '68.

You see a lot of flags at those Trump rallies in the 'burbs.

  5. Man I love Trump. I told my children that if they'd name one of their kids Donald, they'd get an extra share of their inheritance.

  7. Great article!

Add that in addition to President Trump recovering from Covid-19, 34 people in his administration got it as well, and we've yet to see a death.

Am over 70 with some red-flag physical problems. Remain careful. But to anyone 50 or under, Covid should not be feared.

Knew in April that the Democrats would crush their own constituents livelihoods and finances to gain power. These are truly evil people. They've declared war. The objective is to have such a disaster that the people of America will have to turn all power over to the government to right the country. Central Planning. i.e. Communism.

    But we're winning! Bigly!!!

  9. Trump will win as a result of, 'The Gilchrest Effect'
(I had to name it something):
In 1992, the smug Democrat ruled State of Maryland realigned its Congressional district to insure a Democrat majority of U.S. House Reps. from Maryland. They merged the 4th and 1st Districts to put New 1st term Republican Congressmen Wayne Gilchrest against Democrat Tom McMillen of the 4th District.
Gilchrest represented the more rural less populated areas of the Maryland Eastern Shore and McMillen's district was large suburban populated heavy Democrat counties in and around, and near D.C.
Predictions were for an easy McMillen win as he was expected to lose the rural Eastern Shore approx. 60% - 40%; and carry on to a win in this new Baltimore City, State Capital Annapolis Anne Arundel County Democrat stronghold region of the large populated area, by 60 - 40%...The election went about the lines of the predictions except for one glaring misstep by the arrogant McMillen, who largely ignored the 'lowly' rural denizens of the less populated Eastern Shore. Three of the more populated rural counties boke fro the Republican candidate by not the 60 - 40, but a whopping 70% - 30%...Gilchrest beat the Democrat McMillen by a 52% t 48% margin. Though now a registered Democrat, Gilchrest went on to serve 8 terms (he was a decorated [wounded in combat], Marine Sgt. in Vietnam) as Md.'s Rebublican Rep. and sent McMillen into a desrved political oblivion.
So, in conclusion our POTUS will win by the same arrogance of the liberal Media and Biden campaign; President Trump will cede ground in certain large Democrat metro and metro suburb strongholds, but will overwhelmingly win those rural areas by 70% to 30% margins, which will negate the populated areas. Thanks for reading... ZB

    1. Regarding those "certain large Democrat metro strongholds, the black vote is a wild card this year. Let's see how that turns out. Also, early [Hispanic %?] voting in Miami-Dade is not going well for democrats at all.

    2. Even closer losses due to the Black vote in the big cities will be yuuuge for the overall voter totals in the state and maybe shut the democratsnii up p about winning the national popular vote.

    3. Trump strategists say that if Trump can garner 15% or more of the Black vote, he wins. Now I'm hearing he'll have at least 25%. Wow.

However, the biggest factor isn't Mexican, Black or Homosexual voting.... It's Democrat cheating in its myriad forms. I'm scared.

  12. The Ohio and Tennessee River Valleys are what one researcher called "Greater Appalachia" It runs from Pittsburg, taking in most of West Virginia, Kentucky, most of Tennessee, northern Alabama, and parts of Illinois, Indiana , and Ohio that border the Ohio.
We are the last part of the US where the majority of people still call ourselves "American" and not some hyphenated bastardization if they even bother to claim "American" at all. Your German-Americans, Irish-Americans, Italian Americans, and so on unto infinity are not Americans.

Our ancestors founded this nation. Most of us have no immigrant blood in us at all, our families were in the Colonies before 1776 and came here as colonists and conquerors. You will find colonies of us in Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, and even California. We tend to get along better with the Deep South than we do with any other part of the US.

  15. I hope the results send a wake-up call to the consumers of American "News". I hope, even if Trump loses, he loses in a fashion that shows the polls very VERY wrong.

And then, the question, if the models predicting an event only 4 days out are wrong, how can models predicting the weather 40 years away be any more trust worthy?

  16. Legacy media will refuse to declare a winner on November 4th, though it will be obvious who is the victor. They'll claim the incoming 'secure' mail-in votes need to be counted and recounted and re-recounted. Everyone will know this is horse hockey, but they'll do this regardless. It will buy them time to forge as many ballots as possible, but it won't be enough. Americans must make a very visible showing at polls, conveying an undeniable image to the world just who we support. When the farce is deployed, we must appear publicly on every corner in every burg and demand an end to the nonsense. The fate of the planet hinges on us.

It won’t matter what the legacy media reports. Once President Trump hits 270 in Electoral votes it’s OVER!

They can scream, cry, wail and count votes until 2024 but this election will be over on November 4th.

      Guaranteed!
Go out and vote. In PERSON.
Then get some popcorn and enjoy the landslide!
Maybe Don will have an 11pm column that night.

The prayer chanted daily at this blog lol. Memo to fanatics: you already lost the culture war. Culture drives politics it always has.

But the theme here is politics drives culture. Because politics is your true religion just like it is with progressives.

What is evident here is we have a bunch of old white men absolutely scared to death of the future.

All because their idol may soon fall. They cherish top down raw political power. Just like the progressives. Gee there isn't that much difference between them at all.

Your just trading one power hungry faction for another.

  24. The polls showing Biden leading are part of a strategy. The short term hoped for effect is to lower Republican turnout (no sense voting if your guy is so far behind). The longer term goal is to claim that there was cheating by DJT (the only possible explanation for the last upset was that the Russians stole the election for DJT - how else to explain the discrepancy between polls and actual results). Then, since DJT is illegitimate, your actions are justified (one of the excuses for the last 4 years of disgusting behavior).

The rural vote might be a lot lighter than people are predicting, because it's mostly old people.
