The headline in the Daily Mail intrigued me, "Joe's SOS to Barack: Obama to return to campaign trail to help floundering Biden and [Obama] releases ad urging Democrats to vote."
Wait a second. The average of the polls at Real Clear Politics showed Biden has a 10-point lead over President Donald John Trump.
Dozens of people are attending his rallies, versus the 16,000 who showed up for President Trump's rally in Florida.
But the media now measures rallies by masks and social distancing. Biden wins that metric every single time. Hence, a 10-point lead.
To be fair, Biden's handlers do not tell many people where he is headed in advance. That way Trump protesters won't show up.
The purpose of the visits is to give TV footage of Biden rallying to match President Trump's rallies. Attendance and what is said by Biden matter not.
The media is selling Biden as the covid 19 savior.
But the Daily Mail headline grabbed my attention.
Biden is floundering?
Really?
The story said, "Former President Barack Obama, still a hugely popular figure among Democrats, fronted a new video campaign Tuesday to get out the vote for Joe Biden.
"In videos tailored for states vital to Biden's challenge against President Donald Trump, Obama urges voters to get organized ahead of an election disrupted by covid 19, increased use of mail-in ballots, and Trump's unprecedented -- and debunked -- claims of a rigged contest. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Both sides have warned of the possibility of chicanery, to use Biden's word.]
"En route to Florida Tuesday, Biden also said Obama would soon be hitting the campaign trail too. 'He's doing enough for our campaign. He'll be out on the trail,' Biden told reporters."
Obama did the same thing 4 years ago.
ABC reported, "President Obama's campaign blitz for Hillary Clinton is historic."
The story said, "For Obama, his passionate appeal to voters to elect Clinton is about more than his confidence in his former secretary of state. It’s also about securing his legacy."
Obama told a radio reporter, "Everything we’ve done is dependent on me being able to pass the baton to someone who believes in the same things I believe in. So if you really care about my presidency and what we’ve accomplished, then you are going to go and vote."
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is a definition of futility.
But the bigger problem with Obama is his legacy is mud. The economy improved dramatically under President Trump, and Obamacare failed to improve the nation's health.
Obama is a relic of the distant past.
Bill Clinton could not save Hillary. I just do not see Obama saving Biden. Obama's very appearance shows how unpresidential Biden really is.
Obama's presence shows the 10 point lead is probably negative 10 and biden is losing. Why do you need Obama when you are so far ahead?
