Bernie Bros for Trump

While the media creams itself over Never Trumpers voting for Biden, an actual newsworthy event goes under the radar. Bernie Bros are taking their anti-establishment votes over to Donald John Trump because they saw how he made life better for them.

Forrest C. Kerr wrote, "From Bernie Bro to Deplorable: This Trump-Hating Bernie Sanders Fan Had a Big Change of Heart."

What attracted him to Bernie was his trade policies. Sanders opposed those trade deals the Uni Party delivered.

What attracts Kerr to President Trump is he delivered on Bernie's promises.

Kerr wrote, "I remember Bernie’s 2015 Huffington post op-ed against the Tran Pacific Partnership (TPP) reading like a breath of fresh air. A strong stance against trade deals that only benefited multinational corporations at the expense of the American worker — that’s worth supporting. I’d seen good, working-class people suffering in my hometown. Here was a man who cared about MY neighbors!"

Bernie sold out. Hillary took over. Kerr didn't bother to vote.

He was surprised we elected President Trump.

There were more surprises for Kerr.

He wrote, "Then Trump withdrew the US signature from TPP in January 2017. This was a watershed moment for me. When Bernie lost the DNC nomination in 2016 I assumed something like the TPP was guaranteed to pass, and the American people could enjoy a further streamlining of the one way 'Send our jobs to Asia' pipeline. Seeing Trump stand up for American jobs shocked me."

Obviously, Kerr failed to read this blog or buy my books.

He wrote, "Trump’s trade policies were winning me over, but seeing the effect of his presidency on the people I grew up with was what shifted me from neutrality to support. For the first time in my life I saw childhood friends experience real economic improvements because of a president. One of my best friends founded and runs his own carpentry contracting company, and he told me that since 2016 he couldn’t find an idle hand to hire in the carpenter’s union hall. 625,000 new construction jobs have been created since President Trump took office. Unlike most political spin, I could see the reality of that statement fact-checked in real time in my best friend’s paycheck.

"By 2018 I had to face the facts. On one hand, I had some anecdotes from a flawed media machine (who couldn’t even properly predict an election!) telling me that Trump was evil. On the other, I could see real gains being made for good Americans in my hometown, and across the country. Who did I care more about, the opinions of the New York Times, or my friend’s contracting company? And the next two years drove the point home harder than ever."

Like many of us, Kerr now sees supporting Trump as the anti-establishment thing to do. According to him, we are rebelling against the federal government, the media, and something called John Legend.

Kerr didn't need to read my blog or buy my books. Good for him.

He concluded, "I’ve seen the effect Donald J. Trump has had on the real lives of real people. In spite of the efforts of domestic and international media working 24/7 to discredit him, in spite of a horde of unelected faceless bureaucrats in the deep state throwing roadblocks up at his every move, Trump has demonstrated his concern and respect for Americans better than any other president in my lifetime, and he’s given us results. So when November 3rd rolls around, you already know whose name will be checked off on my ballot."

So how big is the Bernie Bro-to-Deplorable vote?

On April 11, Jon Levine wrote, "Trump’s most devastating 2020 weapon will be Bernie Bros, insiders say," in the New York Post (which Facebook and Twitter now treat like an underground newspaper).

Levine said, "During the 2020 primaries, nobody’s knives for Biden were sharper than Sanders’ rabid supporters online and in far-left media. Echoing critiques they made against Hillary Clinton in 2016, the Bernie Bros laced into Biden for being insufficiently left on a number of their core issues: healthcare, which they say would leave 10 million Americans uninsured as opposed to Sanders’ Medicare for All; Biden’s vote for the Iraq War in 2003, and his chumminess with billionaires and SuperPacs."

This is not a new phenomenon.

Levine said, "The threats and warnings from Sanders supporters throughout the primary are no idle threat. In 2016, 12% of them voted for Trump, according to an analysis by Cooperative Congressional Election Study. All told, 216,000 Bernie voters switched sides in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — far exceeding Trump’s 77,744 vote combined margin of victory in those swing states."

Every vote matters.

We won without Cindy McCain, Cindy Kasich, and Cindy Lou Who.

But Bernie Bros for Trump is a sliver we needed in 2016 and can use again in 2020.

Vote and pray.

  2. I guess Forrest didn't notice that Trump's stand on TPP was copied by Hillary months before the election.

    1. The same way Biden is now copying Trump's Made in America - they give lip service until elected. Trump keeps his promises.

  4. I've said before that I don't think PDJT cares whether there's a D or an R behind his name. Pick one. Transform it while destroying the other side of the Uniparty.
And as another comment said recently: "This is scary. I know Trump promised to drain the swamp, but I keep hearing that line from Jaws "I think we need a bigger boat!"

    1. Simple solution, Don Jr 2024. Eric Trump 2032, and Ivanka 2040. At that point the left loonies will be Canada's problem.

  5. Ironically if Bernie had won the 2016 election all of his friends would be way worse off today. It is hard to believe that anyone would be a Bernie supporter thinking that the a enrage worker would be the great beneficiary.

  6. A TDS sicko posted this on Kayleigh McEnany's FB page:

You really are dumb as a f*cking stump. The orange buffoon hasn’t done one single thing that is good for this country. He probably faked having covid.

  8. Bernie phoned it in again last time and laid down like a bum at a prize fight. They gave his Iowa victory to Mayor McCheese.

BTW, that Iowa Algoreithm Ruse is the model for Nov. 3.

    2. Lyn, pretty much. As I said in a comment a couple days ago, he's got himself a great racket with his own crime family, mostly finding ways to launder campaign money into the family pockets - such as that 2Q19 campaign expense of $450k for the campaign to buy copies of his books (do the math on a standard 15% royalty rate... nice little self-given bonus).

He probably ran in 2016 and 2020 to be able to "write" another couple of "books" (see grift method above). But he's smart enough to know that if he tried to rise too high, his racket might get attention from hostile reviewers.

  11. One thing rings true: Trump is for Americans. He is President of ALL Americans. Young, old, rich, poor, black, white, Bernie Bro, Rush fan, he's President for all.
If you lose your job he's not happy.
If you get held hostage in a foreign country he'll try to get you out ... not like Obama. Pres Obama only "rescued" traitors. It gave him an excuse to pass along aid to Muslim terrorists.
