Black Votes Matter

Four summers ago, Donald John Trump went to Dimondale, Michigan, to make his first pitch to black voters. Reporters laughed. The town has 1,257 people. Less than a dozen of them are black.

I knew what he was doing as it happened. He was breaking out of the mold. Every Republican presidential nominee makes a pitch to black voters that fails. Goldwater's opposition to civil rights in 1964 killed the black vote for Republicans -- just 8 years after Eisenhower secured 36% of the black vote.

By going to Dimondale, Donald Trump was laying the foundation for 2020 and beyond. His pitch was simple, "You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed -- what the hell do you have to lose?"

Hillary Clinton tweeted, "This is so ignorant it’s staggering."

And yet who won the election and who was too drunk to give a concession speech?

Donald Trump also was reassuring white voters that he is not a racist.

And he threw the same pitch in other small towns of white people to large towns of white people. After a few weeks, he finally made the obligatory campaign stop at a black church in Detroit.

He did this because, well, what the hell did he have to lose?

He got 8% of the black vote and won.

As president, black unemployment reached a record low. He pushed through a rare bipartisan prison reform bill that has lifted the multi-decadal sentences for drug offenders (overwhelmingly black) caught in Biden's crime bill in 1994. He bragged about minimum 5-year sentences for crack users.

Which is why, despite the well-financed and organized Antifa/BLM efforts to create a race war, President Trump is adding black voters. Separate polls by Emerson College and the Democracy Institute say he gets 19% of the black vote.

The Emerson College poll was taken on Sunday and Monday, which makes it a post-RNC poll. This poll also showed his overall approval at 49% (disapproval 47%).

The wind is now at President Trump's back. The election is his to lose. It always has been. Seeking the black vote through actions not words works. Anyone can drop her G's and say she is "in no ways tarred."

Only Donald Trump delivered record low unemployment.

If that comes to pass the Democrats are toast.

    1. Maybe, but this assumes a mostly honest counting of the votes, especially in black precincts. But who controls the local governments there who run the elections? They didn't think they needed to cheat (very much at least) in 2016. This year their end justifies virtually anything.

    2. Who counts the votes remains my concern as well.

  2. Black people want what white people, yellow people, tan people, brown people, and yes even the Blue People of Appalachia want: A steady job, safe streets, no wars, and no fooking masks either. Come on board that Train, y’all!

  3. The Democrats need 90% of the Black vote to win.

And any Republican that dares go after the Black Vote is labeled a Racist by the Democrats and their media/ entertainment allies.

A large part of the Black community needs change. Fathers in families, school choice, and jobs.

    1. Any republican, whether they go after the black vote or not, is labeled a racist.

School choice and families will lead to more and better jobs.

  5. Once some more influential blacks support PDJT and Republicans, it will be a tsunami.

Also, the more they see and hear of Candace Owens and some of the blacks running for office, tsunami time.

    1. The RNC showcased the classiest black politicos I've seen in a long time. They make Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton and other Democrats look like the lowlifes they are.

  8. "Wallace, formerly a notorious segregationist, renounced those views in 1979. On November 2, 1982, Wallace not only won the general election, but also over 90% of the black vote. Overall, Wallace received 650,538 (57.64%) votes against Folmar's 440,815 (39.06%) votes."
