They cannot stop Trump

Dan Moore, Trump Supporter.

The New York Times is panicking as the election nears because it still cannot find even one supporter of President Donald John Trump who will vote for Biden.

The flipped Trump supporter is the Holy Grail of American journalism today. No one has found one yet. But the Times tried to pass a Never Trumper off as a one in a piece on Sunday, "In Ohio, a Father and Stepdaughter Show the Political Shifts in the Trump Era."

The Times described the daughter-in-law as a lifelong Republican, and yet she did not vote for the Republican nominee in 2016.

The story also did not say if she voted against Obama or not when he ran. The story does say she has a Black Lives Matter sign in her car.

Dan Moore, the stepfather, was another story.

The Times reported, "Before Donald J. Trump began his first presidential campaign, Mr. Moore was a reliable Democrat who had twice voted for Barack Obama. Like legions of white union workers, he found Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign pledge to shake up Washington appealing. He plans to vote for him again in November."

And therein lies the real story.

9% of Obama's voters voted for Donald Trump in 2016. Another 10% stayed home or voted third-party.

Donald Trump attracted enough of them to win. Biden's hope is that he can generate enthusiasm that Hillary didn't 4 years ago.

You know, the same Hillary who knocked him out of the race in 2008 and whom Obama picked over Biden in 2016.

Biden needs Trump voters to win.

The refusal of Obama and his party to take those deplorable dregs of society voters seriously is why I predicted 37 states in July.

Blowing off 62 million voters is a stunning arrogance worthy of Adlai Stevenson, who went 0-2 vs. Ike while keeping his nose in the air. Stevenson saw himself as an intellectual who was above the voting masses.

We the 62 million people elected Donald Trump in 2016. We are enough to do it again.

President Trump plays to his base and seeks to expand it.

Biden plays in his basement and seeks to expand it to the garden.

Wayne Allyn Root is optimistic.

He wrote, "Polls show an overwhelming majority of Americans don't want to defund police. They want law and order. They support police. Even 80% of black voters overwhelmingly disagree with defunding police.

"Does anyone with a brain or common sense think this is a good sign for Joe Biden or Democrats? Do you think all these Americans who support the police, want more law and order, and want more police funding are leaning to Law and Order Trump or Defund the Police Joe Biden?

"Polls show 83% of Americans support President Trump and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson's ending of former President Obama's program designed to fill the suburbs with high-density low-income housing, bringing crime and drugs to the neighborhoods of suburban moms and dads."

And he wrote, "72% of likely voters are concerned about the growing violent protests nationwide. 62% say it will affect their vote. Do you think this is a good sign for Democrats who support the Black Lives Matter and Antifa movements and claim there is no violence?"

Then there are minority voters.

In 2016, President Trump won with 8% of the black vote and 27% of the Hispanic vote.

According to CNN, those numbers are significantly higher this time, as it found 33% of "people of color" in battleground states now support President Trump.
What?

That is unheard of.

Thanks to Barry Goldwater, no Republican has topped 32% black support in 64 years.

And while the press praised Biden's speech, Bill Maher said of the DNC, "Oh man, that thing, how do you describe it? It’s like, did you ever tune into the Jerry Lewis telethon at like 2:00 in the morning? It was a lot like that. But it accomplished what it had to accomplish. Joe Biden accepted the nomination this week in a high school library."

The DNC audience was almost as large as a telethon's at 2 a.m.

While 49% of Biden's voters are motivated by voting against President Trump, Twitchy noted, "Did anyone notice that President Trump’s impeachment ‘didn’t even warrant a mention’ at the Democratic convention?"

The impeachment was a loser.

Russian Collusion was a loser.

The Mueller investigation was a loser.

After a while, fans get tired of losing and fade away. Ask a Browns fan how fun it was to go 1-31 in 2016 and 2017.

Covid 19 is another loser for Democrats.

Just the News reported, "As Democrats and their presidential nominee Joe Biden gear up to attack the president's response to covid 19, they must grapple with a harsh reality: a third of all U.S. coronavirus deaths occurred in just three states controlled exclusively by Democrats."

Those states are New York, New Jersey and California.

Those states have 20% of the U.S. population, and 33% of the covid 19 deaths.

Fox News reported the Republican National Convention will be upbeat.

The president told donors on Friday, "Where Joe Biden sees American darkness, I see American greatness."

That is a great message.

As they say at Instapundit, don't get cocky, kid.

But I have talked too many readers off the ledge these last 4 years not to be optimistic about this election. Not only are the 2016 supporters willing to crawl over glass under sniper fire to vote for him, but many who stayed at home are raring to go this time to make up for it.

Meanwhile, the quest for that Trumpkin for Biden continues. Maybe he's in the stable with that unicorn that Obama rode in on.

Growing up, where I lived, Adlai was a hero. It took many years before it became common knowledge that he was an arrogant prick who would have been the White Obama.

Meanwhile, Biden is the national de Blasio.

And meanwhile, right now, Kenosha WI burns to the ground, with the police afraid to defend themselves with gunfire.

That line right there shows that daughter-in-law, who claims to be a Republican, is a lie. I have my problems with the GOP, but my experience shows me that real GOPers don't support a domestic terrorist organization like BLM.

D.C. political hanger-ons are the notable examples of fake Republicans...Nicole Wallace, a prime example--- a 'full-blown (maybe some truth in that phraseology) leftie' now, how did she ever rate employment in the Bush Admin. or running McCain's campaign with the Quisling Schmidt. Long before Trump Repub. party seditionists like she and Schmidt, Flake, Chrlie Dent, etc. have been undermining the Party since Ike's striped-pants brigade, undid Nixon's hopes in '60.

  4. I wonder about Washington and Oregon voting blue. Can't find any polls, but with the craziness in Seattle and Portland I think some of the less insane moderate Democrats might either stay home or vote Trump. We'll see. Mostly the big cities in these states are the Democrat base and that's where the crazy rioters are. Burning down businesses and attacking people passing by in cars doesn't create good will for riots.

Don't seem to be many "less insane moderate Democrats" in those dominant areas. And suspicion of fraud is high.
The good news is that voter turnout for the primary was the highest its been in years.

    5. I've given up the (to me, mind you; See: NAACP) the dignified phrase "people-of-colour' Mr. DC as the BLM terminology has devolved back to 'black' people...I was good with 'African American' (as Afro-American never caught on; gladly), as it rivaled, Irish or Italian American in the late '80's thru the '90's and aughts until Ferguson in 2015. I miss 'American Indian' too, it seemed so dignified...-First American- is better than Native (sorry, I digress down rabbit holes, at times)...Saying 'Black Lives' just objectifies folks of that class background, who toiled under a whip and threats to rise from those backgrounds and contribute to Society. The pikers use that background to tear the Country that they should look down upon with pride, these United States they largely helped build from the Agrarian Age, through the Industrial Age and into our Modern Age...Teach that in schools and your churches, and your neighborhoods...Have the kids hate the rioters for tearing down what their ancestors helped build. 7. I think 9 of 36 counties carried the 2016 election - 9 blue, 27 red. The 9 represent Portland, Salem, Eugene and Bend, primarily. Southern (Ashland is questionable) and Eastern Oregon are rural and bright red. There has been talk of secession and joining with Idaho, and leaving the blue peeps to implode. Commie Kate is not well liked where I live. That is called an understatement.

  5. Ah, Adlai Stevenson. You remind me of his famous retort [perhaps apocryphal] to a supporter who said to him: “Governor [Stevenson], every thinking person would be voting for you”. His retort was, “Madam, that is not enough. I need a majority.”

As you note, arrogance of that sort lives in the elites of the Democrat Party today.

PS Check your graphic. I think you have the likability backwards (although you're right, almost nobody likes Gropin' Joe).

  7. >> Biden's likability among Democrats fell. Before the convention, only 38% of Democrats said he was the main reason they were voting for him.

That dropped to 29% after the convention.<<

Based on the graphic included in this post, you have it backwards. Biden's likability among Democrats improved from 29% pre-convention to 38% after.

  8. Does turnout really matter when the Democrats will have massive voter fraud on their side?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The larger the actual turnout, the harder it is to cheat out a win. Look for turnouts that are unusually large - in some cases, more than 100% of registered voters (ie - more than the population In the voting district). That’s what happens when cheaters get over zealous. Any time this happens - the results MUST be challenged.

      Delete
    2. The places where Democrats can most likely get away with cheating are the states where they already hold a majority. So they can run up the popular vote totals for Biden, but they can't affect the Electoral College vote unless they can get away with cheating in swing states.

But has everyone noticed that the Dems have disrupted their base? Lots of cities are partially torn up and on edge. Many college campuses are shut down and their voters scattered to their parents' districts.

    2. I am very hopeful. One of the reasons that we carried PA in'16 was that Dem factions fought over the spoils before winning. The transit union in Philly struck for a week before the election demanding more loot BEFORE the anticipated victory. That reduced Philly's turnout. Parts of the dem machine in western PA were actually working FOR Trump because Hillary had promised to end fracking. Green New Deal anyone? I'm hoping that Biden joins the Carter/Mondale club of big time losers.
