Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.

(UPDATE on Item 5.)

ITEM 1: The Associated Press reported, "Former CIA Director John Brennan was interviewed Friday by U.S. Attorney John Durham's team as part of its inquiry into the investigators and intelligence officials behind the 2016 Russia election interference probe.

"The interview took place at CIA headquarters and lasted for eight hours, said Nick Shapiro, Brennan's former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser.

"'Brennan was informed by Mr. Durham that he is not a subject or a target of a criminal investigation and that he is only a witness to events that are under review,' Shapiro said in a statement.

"Brennan led the CIA under the Obama administration as it and other intelligence agencies arrived at the conclusion that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump. Durham's interest in speaking with Brennan underscores the extent to which he and his team are continuing to examine how U.S. intelligence officials reached that assessment, which Trump has long resisted."

I have no idea what AP means by "which Trump has long resisted." Neither does AP. They haven't gotten their stories straight.

But just as it was clear 4 years ago when Hillary walked, no one in the Obama administration will ever be held accountable for spying, lying, bribery, extortion, and the rest of their packs and packs of felonies.

Dump the FBI. The agency has too much money and too much dirt on the politicians for anyone to go to prison for the crap the FBI pulls. They tried to frame the president.

Raze the J. Edgar Hoover Building and replace it with something more honorable.

A brothel.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 2: The Jerusalem Post reported, "Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi went to Washington for a unique meeting with US President Donald Trump this week,  amid daily rocket attacks on bases where US forces are present in Iraq. It also comes amid continued pressure by Iran, Russia, Turkey and the Syrian regime against US forces in Syria.

"Trump has vowed to end America’s endless wars and he may want to leave one of these countries before the election. The meeting was thus of great importance."

Colin Powell headed the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Gulf War and was the secretary of state who pushed the Iraq War. That may explain why he is pissed at The Donald.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 3: Chuck Ross reported, "Political action committees aligned with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Emily’s List, a pro-choice group, paid a dark money group $5.3 million in a failed bid to shape the results of the Kansas Republican Senate primary, according to campaign finance records released Thursday night.

"A mysterious super PAC called Sunflower State popped up in June and began a relentless media campaign in Kansas aimed at portraying Republican Rep. Roger Marshall as insufficiently conservative compared to his opponent, former Kansas Sec. of State Kris Kobach.

"Democrats apparently saw an easier path to victory in November against Kobach, who lost the 2018 race for governor to Laura Kelly, a Democrat. Sunflower State’s effort failed, as Marshall won a decisive victory over Kobach in the state’s primary on Aug. 4. "

They use the FBI to spy on political opponents, so this chicanery is no surprise.

Republicans rejected it.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 4: The Federalist reported, "Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California is affirmed in its right to host indoor worship services after a Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled that there is no court order preventing it. The ruling comes just a mere week after an emergency order enacted by the California Court of Appeals made it again illegal for the church to meet indoors."

Closing churches for 5 months has nothing to do with covid 19, and everything to do with the Little Napoleon California elected as governor.

The judge upheld the Constitution.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 5: BizPac Review reported, "Two women appeared to steal a seven-year-old boy’s MAGA hat and yell obscenities at him and his mother after tearing up signs supporting President Donald Trump. In a video of the incident, the unidentified mother captures the two women accosting her and, allegedly, her son as they destroy their homemade signs and take the boy’s hat."

Why didn't mom put the camera down and save her little boy?

I ain't buying it. Something just doesn't Smollett right.

UPDATE: It turns out, I was wrong. It was not a fake, but rather an actual crime. WDEL reported police have arrested a 21-year-old woman and charged her with first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child.

The Scorekeeper says the arrest is GOOD.

ITEM 6: Becket Adams wrote, "Democracy died a little this week after the Washington Post allowed pro-President Trump campaign ads to appear on its website, according to distraught members of the press."

Oh no.

He also wrote, "The Washington Post’s own Hamza Shaban, who covers business, sought to shame his employer over the ads, alleging a double standard between how the paper raises revenues and its policy dictating that employees should refrain from making asses of themselves on social media."

Red China pays the Post to run a weekly section of its propaganda.

These virtue signalling wimps never dare object.

They are upset? The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 7The Hill reported, "Sales of existing homes skyrocketed in July as Americans who were able to weather the start of the corona virus-driven recession helped fuel a boom in the U.S. housing market, according to data released Friday by the National Association of Realtors.

"Sales of single-family homes, condominiums and co-ops rose 24.7% across the U.S. from June to July and 8.7% since July 2019. The median sale price of existing homes also rose 8.5% from July 2019 to $304,100, according to the NAR, breaching $300,000 for the first time."

You don't take out a mortgage unless you are financially secure. This shows confidence in President Trump's economy.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 8: Martin Walsh reported, "Democratic Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware had quite the meltdown this week.

"During a Senate hearing Friday morning, the Democratic lawmaker was caught on a hot mic saying 'f–k, f–k, f–k!' after his feed initially failed to work during the virtual hearing.

"It was Carper’s turn to question Postmaster General Louis DeJoy when his laptop or internet connection appeared to malfunction.

"The meltdown happened before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which was holding the highly anticipated hearing."

Carper and Biden are proof that we should not let Delaware have senators.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 9: Fox reported, "Donna Hylton was known as inmate #86G0206 for 27 years.

"She was behind bars for her role in the grisly murder and torture of Thomas Vigliarolo, a balding New York businessman found stuffed inside a steamer trunk and left to rot in Harlem. Hylton and six others let him die 'in the most heinous circumstances,' the prosecutor said at their trial in 1985. On Thursday, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hailed Hylton as one of 'America's most impactful community leaders' and asked her to participate in a video reading of the Preamble to the Constitution during a televised portion of the convention."

Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's confusin' you is just the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints.
As heads is tails, just call me Lucifer
Cause I'm in need of some restraint.
So if you meet me, have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste.
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 10: CNBC reported, "Microsoft is signing deals with foreign governments to offer cloud-infrastructure packages similar to the bundle it assembled for the U.S. Defense Department, people familiar with the matter said.

"The Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure, or JEDI, cloud offering for the Defense Department provides cloud-based computing and storage resources at all government security classification levels, as well as devices that can work offline until they sync back with cloud infrastructure. The Pentagon awarded the JEDI contract to Microsoft in October. The contract is worth up to $10 billion over 10 years."

We are paying them a billion a year so Bill Gates can have access to all our military secrets?

No, just plain no.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 11: Joementum equals no momentum.
Nominating Biden shows Democrats are no longer a serious people.

So does its agenda.

So does its Antifa.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 12: The 2020 presidential campaign coverage is like the Laff-A-Lympics.
Snagglepuss did a better job. He actually was objective.

I like how fit they are.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 13: America's Mom speaks.
Plus you don't have to change their diapers.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 14: Does Jussie Smollett have a sister?
Lemme guess: Democrat.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 15: Democrats rolled out their vision of America this week.

Hee Haw was a comedy.

As was the 2020 DNC.

Nobody likes misery.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 16: CNBC reported, "Stocks rose on Friday, lifted by strong U.S. economic data, to end a week that saw the broader market reach a record level.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the session up 190.6 points at 27,930.33, a gain of about 0.7%. The S&P 500 advanced 0.34% to 3,397.16, a new record closing high. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.4% and ended the day at 11,311.80, also a record close."

The S&P 500 is up 56% since we elected Donald John Trump president.

He is better than Reagan at this.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

ITEM 17Just the News reported, "Social media giant Facebook is allegedly developing plans to counteract any attempts by President Trump to claim that a potential win by Biden in November would be an illegitimate victory by the Democratic candidate.

"The company is laying out contingency plans and walking through post-election scenarios that include attempts by Trump or his campaign to use the platform to delegitimize the [election's] results, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing anonymous individuals with knowledge of the developments.

"The social network is preparing for numerous scenarios, the report states, including one in which Trump wrongly states on the site that he is the true winner of the 2020 election. The company is also allegedly attempting to determine 'how it might act if Trump tries to invalidate the results by declaring that the Postal Service lost mail-in ballots or that other groups meddled with the vote.'

"Among the proposed solutions, according to the Times is a kill switch that would shut down all political advertising on the site the day after Election Day."

What is the plan when Obama and his Antifa Thugs again refuse to accept the election results?

But this is based on a report by the New York Times, an unreliable source that pushes such ridiculous conspiracy theories as Putin colluded with President trump in the last election.

The Scorekeeper says: EVIL.

ITEM 18: The people who brought you the Gulf War, the Afghanistan War, and the Iraq War all endorsed Biden on Friday.
Democrats who fervently oppose Republican foreign policy suddenly embrace it.

The Scorekeeper says: GOOD.

Final score: GOOD 12, EVIL 6.

FINALLY, doing daily Highlights of the News Mondays through Saturdays exposes me to plenty of bad journalism. Often, the reporting misses the real news, and straight-news leads are getting as rare as objectivity. I keep falling on Just the News and United Press International as sources when a story piques my interest but the writing was sloppy.

Who, what, when, where, why, and how are not that difficult to write. I suggest these gifts from God to journalism try writing straight leads.

  1. ITEM 1: Well since CONgress created the FBI, and since the SSCI and many members of the House, such as Pelosi, Schumer, etc., were participants in the spying, and coverup (Mule ear's SC), you'd have to get rid of most of CONgress to get any traction. And, that ain't happening. We are screwed. Doom, Despair, and Agony on us!

    1. Remember when Hillary grabbed all those FBI files? The whole place is run by bribery, threats and blackmail. Why would anyone wish to live in a sewer like that, unless they were trying to get their own piece of the action. And, it's all financed by taxpayers, who sign checks on the front.

      - Gary B

    2. Yep. Fortunately, most Americans are not like that. But, we are responsible for putting those people in power, and letting them turn CONgress into the sewer it is. We are consenting to be governed that way.

    3. I was a kid when the FBI nailed crooked Congressmen with ABSCAM, and looked up to them. I spent my formative years thinking they were apolitical, and that corrupt as J. Edgar Hoover was, that he was more about being the moral watchdog [e.g. ombudsman] of corrupt behavior of D.C. Pols, and used his files to keep them all in line. Now, I feel like the kid saying, "...Say it so, Joe" to Joe Jackson. All those honest agents buried under the corruption of Comey's cabal. ZB

    4. Flo is right. It matters little who is president when congress is completely corrupt. Biblical history shows you get the leaders you deserve.

    5. "‘Spying’ is the new ‘Benghazi!’ A manufactured scandal"

Prove it punk. Don't just make statements. Prove it! It should be easy for you, what with all the time you to waste trolling this blog. Just go find one of those leftist linkys you bring here. I'd love a good comedy read.

    6. "When you make an accusation of spying - or any accusation at all - the burden of proof is on you."

Hey punk. When you come to a blog like this, where there are past posts by the blog's author on the very subject you deny, and you show no interest whatsoever to educate yourself so you read as more intelligent than a kindergartener, then the burden is on you because you are implying Don is a liar. There is no negative. Only a positive. The evidence exists. But, because you are a troll, who wastes time here trolling, you refuse to do your due diligence.

And, to top it off, you have chutzpah to commit the exact same offense contained in your quote above. You come here, and make statements, unbacked; because they are lies. And when your punkass is called out on them, you feebly admit you lied.

So, quit lecturing punk. Either put up or STFU.

  2. Not only is Princess's sign misspelled at the bottom (comming?) but supporters at her first rally would have been surprised to find out that the picture on the poster was not her. Not close.

  3. "Closing churches for 5 months has nothing to do with covid 19, and everything to do with the Little Napoleon California elected as governor." DS

New Mexico also has a queen now, and she has moved the covid goal posts weekly. This week NM reached the covid threshold the Queen demanded to open back up. Then she refused and said she doesn't use the same numbers the plebs use, she has secret queen numbers she follows that we're not allowed to see don't ask.

  4. 1 - looks like one massive EVIL. So evil, it overrides much of the GOOD and tips the scorecard for today such that EVIL wins.

12 - like a bunch of cattle being herded.

14 - looks like Stacy Abrams has a sister. The campaign photo and the other picture look like two completely different people. I call that false advertising by the candidate, or her kidnappers fed her VERY well.

15 - the perfect democrat song!!

  5. #1. The fbi-and many, many other federal agencies-need to be completely eliminated. Our massively oversized and expensive fed gov apparatus is a bloated authoritarian tyrannical regime that wants to regulate every aspect of our lives. Trump needs to take a chain saw to it.

    1. If Trump wins, can you imagine the boost in power he'll have over the Executive Branch as a lame duck? With no re-election concerns, great achievements may lay ahead. House cleaning should be a top priority! If that happens, you can bet Republicans will whine about him not damaging their hopes for re-election. At this point, he owes them absolutely nothing - zip, nada, zero.

      - Gary B

  6. Hey! I lived 35 years in DE (Sussex County was the conservative part of state)
Don't forget Senator Bill Roth gave us the Roth IRA.
    Nevermind you're probably right

    1. Yeah man...we’ll tax it now but we won’t tax it later!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
That’s already enshrined in the Big Lie Hall of Fame, right next to I Won’t — In Your Mouth.

  7. 12, anybody remember back in 2016 when the press chased after the Hillary Clinton Presidential Minivan as it did a few laps around a parking lot?
    Good times.

    1. OMG Foo, I thought of that as I watched the video, the herd mentality of the press never crases to amaze me ane we should believe them? Ha ha.

  8. #5: Why does the left ideology lead to acts of immaturity and lack of wisdom? Stealing the kid's hat or throwing a chair through a store window. Maybe something about the totalizing aspect of the belief (the state can take care of all the problems) and the evident fact of that belief's failure? Time and time again. Must be frustrating for a leftist to have to look at Cuba, N Korea, Venezuela every day. Not to mention Baltimore.

    1. Well Derm, like Big D says, LibCommies are the starter party. Or, like Putt Putt is to real golf.

    2. The Dems think that there was something wrong with the way those places all implemented socialism. And they are SPECIAL. It wont happen with them because they are better and it will work this time. (ACME anyone?) They think the last 40 times was someone else's fault, not socialism.

    3. Ever wonder how Kristallnacht came about? When disaffected rioters meet a passive population [e.g. Dem run city states] Recent history back to PETA/ Animal Lib. Front terrorists, the anarchists at the Seattle WTO in '99 [I believe this is the 1st incident I heard the name of George Soros]; this has been fomenting and cheered on by Dem activists...Going back to the Weatherman, in the '70's, Tom Wolfe's portrayal of the Lib Left Manhattan socialites' embrace of the Black Panthers...Some uprising will make it worse, before it gets better nd the upstanding citizenry make a stand. ZB

    4. R-dude. You think you are making a comparison, but you are demonstrating a contrast. Those items you list are far-out, individual actions by fools. The left-dems, on the other hand, produce horrible behavior as pretty much standard operating procedure. From the hundreds of violent rioters to the filthy mouths of the many such as Robert De Niro.

    5. Dermot-
At least there's a glimmer of hope for Baltimore.

  9. "Raze the J. Edgar Hoover Building and replace it with something more honorable."

The Seth Rich Memorial Justice Center.

  10. #1, so you believe what Brennan says?

    1. Hmm.
      Excellent point.
      We shall see.

    2. ...Strange that Brennan shot his mouth on MSNBC during the whole Trump Presidency, strangely used a spokesperson, instead of holding a press conference or running to a camera himself....And the media never questioned that he was avoiding more questions. ZB

    3. Brennan has turned-watch.
Honestly though Clapper would be first..

    4. THAT would explain why they screamed that he's not the target of the investigation (investigation one million since 2016).

  11. 4: May well end up as the crack in the dyke (no pun) to end all the masking, social distancing, lockdowns, and Karens.

    7: God bless the 'burbs.

8: It's all the Dow chemicals in the air.

9: A feature of Demo conventions ever since SCUS OKed abortion.

    10: Better Linus Torvalds.

11: After 3 nights where they were down a quarter from last time.

18: Going after Saddam (partly to box in the mullahs) and responding to 9/11 were necessary in my book. That these guys are turncoat enough now is something else.

  12. Item 5: According to Andrea Widburg on American Thinker today, the President thought the story was legit because he called the little boy.

  13. Re: your last item, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your effort to wade through the muck of what passes for journalism, so I don't have to.

    -Larry Faria

  14. Item #5 I do not care if you are a female, if you are acting up that and take a swing at me I am gonna give at least a couple of good punches.

  15. Seems as though they wanted to talk to everyone else first before they got Brennan in. Which can’t be good for him.

  16. The comments section sure seems strange when we have replies to stoopid, but stoopid has been axed.
Thanks for all you do for us, Don, very much appreciated. GOD bless you and your family and have a great Sunday.

  17. In response to "Finally" : Yes, I have a hard time with any news source these days, either way they lean. I get really, REALLY tired of them formatting their headline to provide the opinion I should have on the article before I even know what the article is. They headline things like "In the highly controversial, racially insensitive move by the Trump administration, POTUS tweeted today." I don't even know what he tweeted, but I already have an opinion on it, it is racist and controversial. (Note: I made up that particular headline to make a point, but they do this all the time.)

  18. 18) All the quislings in the GOPe who the dems are parading in favor Brain-dead Biden also supported liar Hillary in 2016. They couldn't prevent Trump from winning in 2016 and they won't be able to stop him from being re-elected.

  19. #17: "... the New York Times reported on Friday, citing anonymous individuals..."

NYT last attributed a quote to a specific person in 1945.

  20. That gargantuan thing in the pink pants running out to see the fireworks should become as infamous as the Miss South Carolina:

  21. I imagine the fireworks were in the shape of a squirrel, to highlight their distractionary (?word?) nature.
