Conrad Black, Canada's gift to American conservatism, gave an insight into the Democrat Party's misfortunes that I have not seen elsewhere nor had I considered.
The party is almost leaderless.
The target of his column on the Mount Rushmore speech ostensibly was his fellows who bailed on the American people and retreated to Never Trumpland. Imagine Bill Kristol as Captain Hook playing pirate with David French as Peter Pan, sprinkled with pixie dust by Ben Shapirobell. You can fly, you can fly, you can fly.
But that target aside, Black carpet-bombed Democrats.
He wrote, "As the leadership of Black Lives Matter is professedly Marxist and rejects the proposition that all lives matter, it is an overtly and violently anti-white, racist institution of the far Left. Antifa are violent, racist fellow-travelers. In failing to condemn these groups unequivocally, the Democratic Party will soon discover that it has been mortally infected by cohabitation with them."
Black sees prosecution.
He wrote, "It is inconceivable that the FBI — particularly with the opprobrium it has rightly attracted for its antics in the Russian collusion canard — is not close to being able to indict the leadership of Black Lives Matter and Antifa for sedition and incitement to a range of violent crimes, including murder and arson. It is also inconceivable that the country could fail to choose the president’s championship of patriotic continuity with strong emphasis on racial equality and the highest standards of civilized law enforcement over the nihilism and Americo-phobic mob rule of the post-George Floyd rioters whom the Democrats in their decadent insipidity have appeased."
Finally, Black issued a strong warning to neo-conservatives, writing, "Former conservatives and pillars of the pre-Trump Republican Party are now facing the point of no return. If they confirm their support for the almost leaderless Democratic Party now closely allied with pestilence and racist mayhem, they will never have any political influence in any party again. The time to choose between irreconcilable opposites is almost at hand."
Almost leaderless means weak leadership.
The party placed Nancy Pelosi two heartbeats from the presidency simply to annoy President Trump. Four rookie congresswomen drive the party agenda whose platform now is to the left of the BLM and Antifa goons.
Biden is propped up by old guard black leaders who fear losing their supporters to the Squaws Squad and President Trump.
Black leaders do not want to admit that Obama did nothing for black Americans except raise their hopes only to dash them. Imagine if that $170 billion he gave Iran were used to build factories in black communities instead.
Republicans were not much better when it came to leaders. Donald Trump's hostile takeover revived the brand. As Black observed, 2020 is the point of no return for Never Trumpers.
Democrats reached that point when they impeached Donald Trump. Now their party kneels to a nihilistic and Americo-phobic mob -- and four Karens of color.
"...the point of no return for Never Trumpers." Boy, oh boy, do I hope that turns out to be true. - Gary B

Delete“The Gangsterization of the Democrat Party”
ReplyDeletehttps://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/07/the_gangsterization_of_the_democrat_party.html
The Democratic Party has been a crime syndicate masquerading as a political party for as long as I can remember.
DeleteThis has been true since the last Civil War.
DeleteActually the Dims remained a conservative party until about 1900. Then, they were infiltrated by progressives and proceeded to tear the country down, starting with Wilson.
DeleteI hope he's right about beheading BLM and Antifa through the courts.
ReplyDeletePlus Obama also killed their bench strength with the loss of governor races across the country. Of those left standing Cuomo is a hapless exterminator of the elderly. Newsome is facing a third recall attempt. The rest, like Whitmer and Inslee are too busy scorching the earth to get Trump. The best senator they got is Kamala "Heels Up" Harris? And does anyone consider Buttigieg ready to jump from a small college town mayor with a black problem to President? AOC is brainless star power. Incompetents one and all. I don't believe they can pander or promise enough to matter.
John, a telltale sign is the growing rift between many blacks and young, know-it-all liberals, puked out by universities. Another symptom of the dumb-ass Left eating itself. - Gary B
DeleteBen Shapiro can be as annoying as f and can over-intellectualize a topic to death, but I wouldn't call him a hardline Never Trumper. That was true of him in 2016 but not now. He's sort of in detox with Eric Erickson. Glenn Beck came out of detox long ago and fully recovered.
ReplyDeleteShapiro is often critical of Trump's style but generally agrees with him on policy and said some time ago that he anticipated voting for Trump in 2020. It's pretty clear that the Democrat's shenanigans this year are not exactly going to change his mind there.
Also, just yesterday, Shapiro praised Trump's Mount Rushmore speech and excoriated the over-the-top criticsm of it from Democrats and Never Trumpers. I think he even used the term "Never Trump" derisively. He castigated Jennifer Rubin by name.

pre-Trump Republican Party
ReplyDeleteThis is why I always call them Whigs.
And we're somewhere between Robert E Lee busting John Brown at Harper's Ferry and Fort Sumter.
I like the "four Karens of color" tag.
ReplyDeleteI do wish we would be reminded more of the core issue. Whether the "Karen" thing or the "never Trumper" thing, or the "black lives matter" thing, what we're dealing with is a lack of wisdom.
Here's my definition of wisdom: The meta-ideological view.
My definition of wisdom is learning the hard way...the times when you end up walking funny for a while. - Gary B
DeleteWisdom is not wanting all that packing in your nostrils again.
DeleteWe will see with the FBI on what they do with Antifa. They seem a lot more excited by anti Racist stuff, such as the NASCAR noose hoax.
ReplyDeleteGive me a call when the FBI regains their credibility, 'cause, nowadays, they're a national joke, equal in stature to Congress. - Gary B
DeleteFurther, what motivation does a law enforcement agency, headed by high-level criminals, have to arrest and charge other high-level criminals? Answer: None, lest they be criticized by the press, run by their own high-level criminals. - Gary B
DeleteFrom Black's pen to God's eyes.
ReplyDeleteNB
There really are some good Republicans in Congress. Unfortunately they are few and far between and there are absolutely none in positions of leadership.
ReplyDeleteI always read Black. However his "It is inconceivable that the FBI... is not close to being able to indict the leadership of Black Lives Matter and Antifa..."
ReplyDeleteUntil 3 or 4 years ago it was inconceivable that FBI and DOJ would actively attempt a coup against an elected president. So I'm not going to bet the farm on the FBI.
“As Black observed, 2020 is the point of no return for Never Trumpers.”
ReplyDeleteMaybe for him. I past that point starting in June 2015 with Kevin Williamson"s NRO article, “Witless Ape Rides Escalator,” and Jonah Goldberg's NRO article, “Trump Is a Bad Deal for the GOP” in July 2015. It was downhill from there and I dropped National Review and their writers (except for VDH and an occasional guest writer) from my reading sources. For the most part, I was never a fan of Kristol's “The Weekly Standard” and his abandonment of prior “principles” confirmed that assessment.
The only good thing in NR is Kyle Smith (NY Post is now as dull as death without him). Hanson is also very good, but he can be read elsewhere.
DeleteDon Reed
P.S.: I went over to NR to read Smith, and there's Victor, in "NR Plus." As if I'd spend one cent to pay for "NR Plus." To me, that means, "NR Minus": NR is minus the people who can run a profitable business.
DeleteMy understanding is that NR was never profitable. It survived on a few subscriptions and foundation donations. Much of the foundation donations have gone away, and they have intentionally insulted their readership. Lowry showed he was a coward with the Derb fiasco, and it has been very sharply downhill since.
DeleteCaptcha has become little more than harassment. When I post, I steel myself to at least 5 pages of nonsense before it will let me go. I've gone through as many as 20 pages. Captch is simply ridiculous.
I feel like all of this discussion of the political calculations of the Democrats is like sitting in on an aldermen meeting during the great Chicago fire. While they talk, reality is outside doing its thing.
ReplyDeleteLet's see how important their words are in, say, two months when almost no one has rebuilt and the cops are still too shell-shocked to return to the streets.
My big tell remains the insurance companies. I think they'd have to be crazy to not raise rates substantially in blue cities.
They'd be crazy to insure anything in the blue cities.
DeleteLord Black is always worth reading, even when I'm inclined to disagree with him. He is a true scholar, and self-reflective enough to correct any mistakes he may make.
ReplyDeleteThe further the meltdown of the left goes, the more dangerous they become. A cornered rat will engage whatever violence it can, and the dems are cornered rats on fire in a dumpster that's also on fire. We're in for some very ugly times before they fade into the dustbin of history.
Never Trumpland. Priceless. The wife puts on the news just to add some noise and maybe catch the weather, and even more than the bias andfictions I am struck by the sheer stupidity of it all. I understand my wife who doesn't really listen, but why would anybody waste time on trivialities and negative presentations. Yet all this is of super importance for the Democrats. They are not addressing our concerns and yet expect to win in November.
ReplyDeleteThe leaders of the democrat party are behind the curtain. Barry Sotero and his crew running things from his house. George Soros.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe black communities need 170 billion to get things right. What they need is the rule of law as proven by Mayor Guilliani and later by Mayor Bloomberg. Once the rule of law is established businesses will take advantage of the opportunity zones enacted by President Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe blue cities need to increase the funding of their police force and free the police to administer stop and frisk, make violently resisting arrest a felony, provide more arrest training, etc...Currently the blue city mayors seem willing to loot the police budget to fund their SJW projects - probably so they can partake in all the kickbacks. Once again the black community is being used and abused by Democrats.
Chollaman
Pearls before swine, sir.
Delete"Ben Shapirobell."
ReplyDeleteThis is why yours is the first site I go to every single day.
Every time a column is written extolling the marvelous Ben Shapiro I invariably protest the description. And invariably a bunch of Bennies slap my comments around. Tough. Shapiro is a stink bomb ready to go off at any moment and you never know when. He's a more cumming poseur than French, Kristol, and the rest of the neoconjobs.
He's a "conservative" until he ain't and you pretty much are dealing with a hand grenade once you get in the business of fondling him for his "conservatism". He can go to hell. Won't be fooled again.
All politics in the American Empire are about race, that is to say immigration, and will be until the Empire croaks. Pelosi is the white face, probably the last one, the Democrats put on their increasingly anti-white party. Pelosi going will be a major event since she almost certainly will be replaced by a non-white, and the anti-white words and actions of the Democrats will take on a different, ahem, complexion.
ReplyDeleteBernie Sanders, along with AOC are the leaders of the Democrat party now. Prove me wrong.
