Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.

ITEM 1: United Press International reported, "The head of the Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged Wednesday that the agency and Boeing made mistakes that led to two 737 Max aircraft crashing within months of each other and killing hundreds of people.

"Members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation ripped into FAA Administrator Steve Dickson during a hearing examining the agency's process of certifying aircraft.

"Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, accused Dickson of not taking responsibility for the FAA's faults when the latter used passive voice to tell lawmakers 'mistakes were made.'"

I want career bureaucrats fired, not just the political appointees reshuffled. A hundred GS-15s through GS-18s losing their jobs would send a long-overdue message of fear and urgency to everyone in the federal government.

That's one bureaucrat fired for every three deaths.

ITEM 2: United Press International reported, "Former national security adviser John Bolton said in his upcoming book that President Donald Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help him win the 2020 presidential election.

"An excerpt from Bolton's memoir about his time serving in the Trump administration, published in The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, said Trump brought up China's economic capability, 'pleading with Xi' to ensure he would win the upcoming election during a meeting in Osaka during the G20 Summit last June."

Mine eyes hurt from rolling.

Crank up The Mueller for the next witch hunt.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden awaits another billion-dollar bribe to launder from Beijing.

ITEM 3: United Press International reported, "The Senate on Wednesday passed a conservation package to restore national parks and forests and create 100,000 jobs.

"The chamber voted 73-25 to pass the legislation, which doubles spending -- about $900 million each year -- for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

"Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colorado, a sponsor of the Great American Outdoors Act, praised its passage and called on the House to also give its approval."

Every now and then, Congress does something that actually helps the country.

We shall see how Nancy sabotages this effort.

ITEM 4: Just the News reported, "Amid outcries from conservatives claiming censorship by numerous social media platforms, the Justice Department on Wednesday proposed revisions to a federal law that has shielded Internet companies like Facebook, Twitter and Google from liability involving content published on their servers.

"Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, passed in 1996, stipulates that 'no provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.' That protection from liability has been enjoyed most notably by outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, which have thrived on relatively open communication between users."

The losers at Twitter have to ask themselves: was censoring James Woods worth losing protection from ravenous trial lawyers?

ITEM 5: Breitbart News reported, "Amazon Studios has purchased the rights to an untitled documentary on voting rights which prominently features failed Georgia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams."

It's a payoff.

But what about Andrew Gillum?  Come on, male hookers and meth are expensive.

ITEM 6: Just the News reported, "On the 5th anniversary of the shooting of a predominately black church in Charleston, S.C., the husband of an African-American murdered by a white supremacist urged protesters upset about the death of George Floyd and other cases of police brutality to remain peaceful.

"The Rev. Anthony B. Thompson, whose wife, Myra, was killed in Charleston in 2015, condemned the recent nationwide violence and rioting, saying he instead encouraged peaceful protesting to enact positive social change and that he was troubled by scenes of looting and destruction. The destruction hit many majority-black neighborhoods, destroying black-owned businesses and neighborhoods."

Rev. Thompson said, "Martin Luther King was stressing non-violence, because with rioting and violence, you're not going to get anything. You know, people are going to look at you in a darker shade than what they're looking at you already. And nobody's going to listen to you. And those who walk violently, they get locked up, then they get a criminal record, then they can't do anything."

Sadly, they will tear down King's statue someday, too.

ITEM 7: KDKA reported, "Quaker Oats is retiring the more than 130-year-old Aunt Jemima brand and logo, acknowledging its origins are based on a racial stereotype."

And yet the Quaker speaking in 17th century English will remain as the company's mascot.

Meanwhile, Uncle Ben's rice is getting a changeover.

And President Trump supports the NFL hiring Colin Kaepernick to do something or other.

Who said rioting, looting, and burning down Wendy's would not produce concrete results that would improve the lives of 40 million black people?

ITEM 8: The New York Post asked, "Is it time for the Dixie Chicks to rethink their name?"

Really?

That's their name?

In the 21st century?

They need to change it immediately to the Dixie Women or the Dixie Females or something that is not a relic of our patriarchal past.

ITEM 9: The Blaze reported, "As protests and riots have raged across the country in recent weeks over George Floyd's death, leftist elites have been quick to virtue-signal their support but slow to call out the violence occurring — that is, until protests encroached upon their neighborhoods.

"A great example of this occurred Monday in one of the nation's wealthiest and most left-leaning cities: Beverly Hills.

"After a group called Occupy staged loud protests using 'bullhorns and amplified music and disrupted the tranquility' of the city's neighborhoods, city leadership issued an emergency order effectively banning protests in residential areas.

"The order, which aims to 'preserve the peace and tranquility' of the wealthy neighborhoods, bans gatherings of more than 10 people in an assembly between the hours of 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. in residential areas."

Good for them.

Predominately black areas also should ban bullhorn blowing and the like. Everywhere else should, too. Everyone should be able to live in harmony without fear of rioters and looters rolling down main street.

The Constitution protects the right to peacefully assemble. In its preamble, it says it exists in part "to insure domestic Tranquility." Your rights end where my hearing aids begin.

ITEM 10: The Associated Press reported, "In a major legal setback for President Donald Trump on a high-profile consumer issue, a federal appeals court has ruled that his administration lacks the legal authority to force drug companies to disclose prices in their TV ads.

"The ruling denies Trump an easy-to-understand win on a major reelection priority for the White House, bringing down the cost of prescription medicines. Where most plans to overhaul the cost of drugs are complex, mandating that companies disclose prices is something any consumer can relate to."

Obama Judge Patricia Millett wrote for the court that HHS "acted unreasonably" in asserting it had authority to impose "a sweeping disclosure requirement that is largely untethered to the actual administration of the Medicare or Medicaid programs."

In Obamaland, reducing costs is largely untethered to the actual administration of the Medicare or Medicaid programs.

ITEM 11: Flashback to February 17 when USA Today reported, "Top disease official: Risk of corona virus in USA is 'minuscule'; skip mask and wash hands."

That official was Tony Fauci, the official government expert on pandemics.

Yesterday, The Hill reported, "Fauci: why the public wasn't told to wear masks when the corona virus pandemic began. The infectious disease expert also discussed why they are necessary."

He lied then. He lies now.

President Trump should fire him because Fauci's incompetence helped Red China spread an economy-wrecking disease.

Also, Breitbart News reported, "Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he would certainly not attend President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma."

He is a mole.

A swamp mole.

ITEM 12: Just the News reported, "Lawyers for Gen. Michael Flynn, the defendant in an increasingly complex and multilayered prosecution case related to the Trump-Russia investigation, argued in a new filing today that the ex-judge called in to argue against dropping that case has engaged in a 'flagrant personal and partisan assault' against the general.

"The lawyers further argued that the judge overseeing Flynn's case had no authority to call in former Judge John Gleeson as an amicus curiae instead of dismissing the case per the federal government's request."

No one in Washington follows the law.

Obama ordered General Flynn ruined as a warning to others not to join the Trump administration.

The courts will let Sullivan get away with this farce unpunished. Just like Hillary. There is the protected class and the unprotected class. When a member of the protected class tries to help the unprotected, he gets targeted for destruction.

ITEM 13: Fox reported, "Protesters in Portland, Oregon, early Wednesday locked police inside their own precinct, prompting a plea on Twitter to let them out.

"A small group of demonstrators dressed in black removed a flag from outside the doors to the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct shortly after 11 p.m. They used the flag cord to keep a roll-up door from opening, effectively locking people inside."
I thought I heard one of the trapped officers cry, "Come on guys. Let us out. This isn't funny anymore."

A century ago, we had the Keystone Cops.

Now we have the Portland Police. They make Reno 911 look competent.

ITEM 14: I am Ghana say one thing.
To be fair, Democrats do too.

ITEM 15:  Channel 11 in Atlanta reported, "Atlanta Police disputes rumors of mass walkouts. 11Alive has received numerous calls and tips from viewers about the rumors, but police say they aren't accurate."

Ed Driscoll called them Schrodinger's Cops. Maybe they are there, maybe they are not, but we know someday they won't be there.

And who can blame them?

After firing and charging an officer with murder before any investigation was through, the city administration sent a message that is clear as the sky after a storm.

My advice to officers is to tell City Hall don't bother defunding; we are out of here.

And then they should file paperwork to be licensed for private hire. The same limousine liberals pushing this dangerous defunding will want someone to guard them later.

Blue lives matter too.
Methinks covid-BLM will spread fast and furious.

STAT OF THE DAY: Atlanta is 52% black.

Its police force is 58% black.

JUNE IS NATIONAL ACCORDION AWARENESS MONTH: Many rock songs had accordions in them, and of course, The Who's "Squeezebox" song was about an accordion.

I think.

But the most Accordion Aware rock song was by the Young Rascals. It is one of my favorite songs.

      That's some shit I sure don't understand.

Now as for me, I'd take being able to fly as my pick.

  4. 2 - Bolton is the latest laser pointer. The liberals have so many going now that they may run out of attacks on PDJT by September.

4 - let’s see some follow through. And will the house do anything as long as the democrats are in charge?

7 - to be safe, all products will be renamed to a calm, passive and non-ideological name - Rev Al’s Rice, Rev Al’s syrup, Rev Al’s jelly, Rev Al’s sedan, Rev Al’s .....

  6. Item 2: And I understand Natanyahu asked Hamas for help in his election bid. Would somebody, anybody, please explain to me why Bolton is writing this book, and appearing with Martha 'headscarf' Radditz on Sunday? Agree with Bolton or not, I always pegged him as super-smart. He needs the money, he's that offended his ideas weren't adopted, so much so that he is risking prison for this? If there are items that could hurt American diplomacy or security in the book, AG Barr will throw the book at him to discourage future disclosures of secrets. The Libs will be delighted if he is punished, and use it as an example of Trump overreach. Is he in cahoots with the President to cleverly explode on the Democrats and the Media? Far-fetched, but it makes more sense than what we are seeing.

    3. Stab in the back Bolton has lost me. If indeed he still has national security info in the book and we know some copies have been released, he should be arrested. All previous leakers have gotten away with it, so why not Bolton.

  11. 10 - I think, like those lottery commercials that have a gambling addiction hotline show on the screen, all end-user healthcare businesses must post a website address where they can find current pricing of the services. I don’t agree that drug companies -as they are not retail - have to post prices, but hospitals and clinics should have to post these drug prices.

A nit-noid factoid. The pinnacle of the General Schedule is GS-15. GS-16 - GS-18 rankings were replaced by the Senior Executive Service as the keystone of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978. Akin to me in high school, you're dating yourself, Don. :)

  15. I'm not sure it is fair to go after FAA Administrator Steve Dickson. He was not confirmed until July of 2019, both crashes of the 737-MAX happened prior to his tenure, and I am sure the FAA is just as bad a morass as most of the Deep State. If Dickson intends to reform the agency, he has had less than a year to do it, and some things just are not possible in that length of time.

Neither do I criticize Trump for saying that Copperdick should play IF HE CAN MAKE A TEAM! I doubt if he can, but Trump is right about that. Be made at Goodell; that man is a menace.

  16. 2. Trump says lots of things. Wouldn't surprise me if he said that in some casual conversation. Doesn't mean he meant it. Doesn't mean he was for sale like some other presidential wannabes were, are and would be.

I used to respect John Bolton. Man, does Trump have the ability to expose the true person inside.

    4. Never had a Twitter account. The very idea of being a twit was unappealing.

    7. Trump saying the NFL should hire Kaepernick is not a favor to the NFL or Kaepernick. This puts the onus on the NFL to hire an old washed up QB for some impossibly outrageous salary and would blow K's cushy career as a professional martyr.
