Who Democrats kill

His name was Mike. He was 93. He was too young for World War II, but served in the post-war Philippines. Afterward, he became a college basketball star. He later worked for Mine Safety. He developed the safety helmets that are still worn by most miners. He saved lives.

Thanks to Democrat Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania, Mike died last month.

A reader -- an adopted nephew of Mike -- told the sad tale of Mike's death.

The reader wrote, "I called him on Friday -- he was 93 and crying -- even at his advance age. He hated his room and was always on the move at the nursing home. It just struck me as totally odd when he said he was locked up because of corona virus patients in the building. Why were they still there?

"Saturday, he was complaining about the food -- she tried to send him a pizza delivery and it was declined -- not allowed.

"Sunday, he had the one nurse take a picture and she texted it to my sister and she texted it everyone.  This is one of those haunting pictures that causes me to feel guilty; I didn't visit him as much as I could. I did see him about six times in the past year. He told the nurse he had a slight fever so she was going to get him tested or schedule him for one.

"Tuesday night, my niece called and said she called to check and he was dead. One of the nurses was with him when he passed away. But he deserved better.

"Thursday morning, I called for funeral arrangements. I was informed he was in the mausoleum already. There were no services.

"We asked what he died of. They were not sure and would not supply information because we are not blood relatives.

"Did he die of the virus? I do not know. I really don't.

"But I get the impression from reading the newspapers that it was the virus. I also get the impression that the death toll is a lot higher than what Cuomo and Wolf are now saying because of the scandal. The media's lack of interest is astounding.  But again Wolf and Cuomo are Democrats. I am positive that it is much higher. I would like to get the total deaths at nursing homes for April and compare it to last year.

"I cannot tell you how furious my siblings and I are."

***

It is not just nursing home patients who are dying.

Republican Attorney General  of West Virginia tweeted today, "HHS Secretary saying we may have 300,000 undiagnosed cancer cases right now because of pandemic. I’ve always maintained that while there may be consequences to how fast states reopen, there are potentially more significant public health & economic consequences to not reopening."

Cancer was expected to kill 630,000 people in the United States this year. We shall see if that number increases this year. The death rate from cancer has been declining thanks to early detection, but state after state ruled detecting cancer was non-essential. Hospitals laid off personnel because of this.

I never met him. I mourn because his death shows a callous disregard for life.

  1. This is just one example of outrageous Democrat policies. Do Democrats care about their elders? Not sure. The jury is still out. It's due to render its verdict in November. - Gary B

    1. Thank you DS for putting this out there. It needs to keep being said until the MSM finally relents and covers it also. That is bogus and just an excuse (because they need anything they can get) to not give out death details. It will be on the death cert that the funeral home is required to give. And excutros of estates and adopted family COUNT. SO both the nursing home and the funeral homes are either participating voluntarily or more likely voluntarily. After all, their licensing comes from the State that needs the cover up.

    3. The individual? NO Their mantra is "the greater good", no matter what harm is incurred to each of us. Look at the unemployment rate. No sane politician would allow this to continue.

From the Seven Assumptions of the Comfortably Numb:

ASSUMPTION SEVEN: Establishing the "common good", as defined at the current moment by our “experts” and “leaders”, is the primary mission of public institutions, particularly our government.

This is what has replaced respect for individual liberty.

  9. Reckless endangerment is what they should be charged with which is a crime consisting of acts that create a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person. The accused person isn't required to intend the resulting or potential harm, but must have acted in a way that showed a disregard for the foreseeable consequences of the actions.
But it will never happen; they are Democrats. But if they were Republicans . . . .

  10. I knew Mike. For years, every Memorial Day, I would take him to his wife grave, so he could visit her on or near their wedding anniversary. I promised him I would take him again this year. I didn't get to keep that promise. I promised him that after he was gone, I would continue to visit he and his wife on Memorial Day. I don't think I'll even get to do it this year.

The local hospital system converted an old hospital building to a Covid-19 testing center, and had designated rooms to treat patients with the virus. On April 4 I wrote to a family member:

I wonder if they are keeping the infected in the bldg[nursing home], and if they are, why? Doesn't seem safe, and they are in the high risk group, take them to the hospital so they can be there if/when things start to get worse. They turned the old south side hospital into the Corona testing center, and the rooms dedicated to house the sick are on their own air system in special rooms. They need to remove the sick.

I thought it was the nursing home that was keeping them, but now I know who decision it was and I'm furious.

  11. Interesting how Herr Cuomo keeps saying "if it saves one life" when justifying his lock down on the economy, totally ignoring the strain it is putting on families to earn a living, and totally ignoring or blaming others for his policies which put Wuhan Corona Virus patients in nursing homes which increased the number of deaths in those places.

When it comes to protecting the most vulnerable people to this disease, the governors were callus. They didn't care so much because their votes were likely to be for the other party. "They would die anyway" is his response to his actions which pushed the numbers up.

Herr Cuomo want to have high numbers of deaths from this Chinese virus because there is more money in it from the Federal Government, but they now have an issue with nursing home deaths being at a high rate due to their actions which placed the elderly in greater risk.

Every one of us will die. The elderly are closer to their last days, but actions putting the elderly at greater risk due to governor's decisions to house those ill with this virus in a population center of more vulnerable people is criminal. Most in nursing homes have other health issues, diminished capability of fighting off this disease in particular. Herr Cuomo certainly didn't care when he placed the elderly in greater risk, and likely caused a larger number of elderly to lose their lives sooner than they would have.

But then again, we are talking of a party that thinks nothing of taking the life of the most innocent of beings, through abortion, by the millions. It is only certain lives the members of the left care about.

  12. Democrats hate the elderly. They remember the country as it once was. Just remember the words of the racist Oprah who said we have to wait until all the old white people die before we have a better country.
