Biden goes all in on corona virus

Joe Biden made it official that he hopes to ride corona virus into the White House. Never let a crisis go to waste, as Rahm Emanuel said. Seizing on this issue is ghoulish, which is bad form, but also foolish, which is bad politics.

The Los Angeles Times reported, "Joe Biden on Thursday delivered the opening salvo in the general election campaign against President Trump in a speech that centered on the coronavirus crisis, but, more broadly, posed the question Democrats hope to make the centerpiece of their campaign: What kind of leader does America want?

"With the primary competition against Sen. Bernie Sanders now largely behind him, the former vice president appeared in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, posed in front of five American flags, and focused on his general election rival, President Trump.

"'This virus laid bare the severe shortcomings of the current administration,' Biden said. 'Public fears are being compounded by pervasive lack of trust in this president fueled by adversarial relationships with the truth. Our government’s ability to respond effectively has been undermined by the hollowing out of our agencies and disparagement of science.'"

Once again, Democrats are leaping before they look.

The Centers for Disease Control is on the case. The CDC has been through the drill often enough tackling viruses to earn the respect and confidence of the public. The early stage of panic should end by the end of the month as people diagnosed with the virus recover.

As with the Russian Collusion hoax, the Creepy Porn Lawyer scam, the Mueller Report, impeachment, and all the others, this Acme Scandal ill backfire.

But the New York Times assured its readers this time it is different.

According to the Times, "For the past year, the Democratic presidential candidates debated the merits of sweeping liberal ideas, fretted over notions of electability and bias, and rose and fell in the polls as voters struggled to choose a front-runner. And through it all, President Trump sniped from the sidelines, demonizing the party and its 2020 contenders as socialists.

"Almost overnight, everything has changed. Amid deepening uncertainty over a spreading virus and growing anxiety about an economic meltdown, that kind of classic presidential campaign ended and something extraordinary has begun: a real-time, life-or-death test of competency and leadership for those seeking the White House this November.

"Over 18 hours from Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon, the three major candidates for the presidency, including the incumbent, made quick pivots to shape and guide the country’s new political discourse. It was an attempt to demonstrate how they would lead Americans across a muddled terrain of social disruption and stock market collapse, of worry about testing kits and concern about travel bans and crowd sizes.

"Just hours after Mr. Trump delivered a wooden address from the Oval Office, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. sought to position himself as a sober steward of the national interest, delivering a speech echoing the language and tone of addresses given by presidents in moments of crisis. Mr. Biden also went much further than Mr. Trump in proposing a detailed plan and a set of goals on testing, increasing hospital capacity and supporting an accelerated push for a vaccine."

The accompanying freefall in the stock market, and the closing of Disney World, the NBA, and now baseball are panic, although I could see where Disney, the NBA, and major league baseball do not wish to be held liable for someone contracting the corona virus.

Biden sees a victory bouquet in all this misery.

What blooms in March won't last through November.

Biden is pinning his hopes on the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. That is a very ghoulish and foolish bet. But what else does he have to offer?

Democrats have nothing. They have no candidate. They have no plan for the country. All they have is the memory of Obama which really wasn't all that good for liberals, and led to President Donald John Trump.

We all know how that turned out.

  2. Biden, tough guy, slayer of Corn Pop, plagiarist with no original ideas has stolen from PDJT’s playbook. The media continues to trash the president and now are making Slow Joe look like John Wayne.

    It won’t work.

  3. Joe was always about nothing but influence peddling (or say power-peddling). On the large scale and the small. He's doing it with the little girl in the video.

Otherwise he has no original intellectual virtue.

    1. He was elected Senator thanks to the Teamsters and the Mob. Think about that.

His first wife was at fault in an accident that killed her. He smeared the other driver by claiming he was drunk.

Brother Frank owes an accident victim a million bucks and has never paid up.

Son Hunter can't even figure out how to make a paternity suit go away.

He's been a joke in Delaware for 40+ years. But keeps on getting elected because he's faux folksy and what he does in DC has never really affected in his adopted state.

I could go on, but I'd hit the blog post limit long before I was done.

This is the Peter Principle on growth hormones. The man was never capable of running even a CornPop stand.

  4. Stone cold locks...in the next eight months, Joe Mama will refer to Covid as:

    - The Asian Flu
    - The Swine Flu
    - The Spanish flu
    - The Russian flu (which I had, at AFA - shite was nasty)
    - The Middle East flu a/k/a The Camel flu
    - The Ebola flu
    - The Plague
    - The Modelo flu

And remember, Joe Sistah’s numero uno priority is not insulting people of Chinese heritage. Not public health. Not a vaccine. Xenophobia against Asians. Alles heil Sieg heil!

  6. I think the democrats and slow Joe missed a golden opportunity to show they could put politics aside and come together with the President to show they can effectively govern during a crisis. Instead its the same BS and perpetual pouting and sniping we have come to expect. They really have nothing to offer other than partisan rancor and division. Hardly a winning message in November.

    2. From the classic children's record "Manners Can Be Fun."

There are the whiners who bore people so,
They whine and whine and whine.
They whimper when anyone tells them no,
They whine and whine and whine.
When they don't their way, trouble begins
And this is a certain sign.
With tears in their eyes and their quivering chins,
They whine and whine and whine.

  7. Biden's coronavirus advisor asserts old folks should not get flue shots or vaccines.

In reality, due to his personal beliefs, the advisor fully asserts that the elderly should be denied care and allowed to die if sick.

Betcha, though, he doesn't include the elderly Biden in that advice, just the unwashed masses.

    https://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/bidens-coronavirus-advisor-told-the-elderly-to-avoid-flu-shots-vaccines/

"... Ezekiel Emanuel, published an op-ed in The Atlantic saying he wants to die at age 75 because life simply isn't worth living after that point. The op-ed wasn't just personal, either — it attempts to convince the reader that death may be preferable to living in advanced age."

'"Here is a simple truth that many of us seem to resist: living too long is also a loss," Emanuel writes. "It renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic."'

"He served as a top health care advisor to President Obama and was a central figure in the push for Obamacare."

    3. Science Fiction has innumerable stories promoting or discussing early termination of life, mostly due to overpopulation and resource scarcity. Too many writers assumed that as the population gets richer they would continue to have as many children as they did when they were poor. This has never happened in all of history. The richer the population, the fewer the children they have. Always. And. Forever.

But the writers and their acolytes still peddle the Soylent Green fantasy.

  9. Went to grocery store hour ago, bumped into 3 separate friends from church/work. All 3 brought up the obvious panic pushing of the wuhan virus by democrats/media. Great idea we discussed, if the dems want to cancel everything, nfl, nhl, parades, baseball etc, then trump NEEDS to start pushing cancelling the election until the virus subsides! And be serious about it! See how uncle joe reacts, how can you bring people out to vote and expose them to this terrible sickness?? Lets watch them then.....
