Noonan and the vapid response team

Instead of using a picture of Peggy Noonan to illustrate this post, I decided to use one of a politically savvy woman. Kim Kardashian got Donald John Trump to ditch 3 decades of Lock Em Up advocacy to promote and sign into law the first federal prison reform in my lifetime

Noonan at the Wall Street Journal is useless as George Will, Max Boot, Jennifer Rubin and the rest of the Washington Post

They are relics of 20th century commentary in which newspaper columnists regularly got away with leaving out major portions of story to make their case.

The more obscure the subject, the more in command they were.

This is the template for the global warming campaign. Most people know nothing about carbon dioxide and polar bears. Into this knowledge gap, they had filled us with fertilizer.

But it turns out we banned hunting polar bears unless you are an Eskimo. Absent hunters, polar bears are thriving. We went from 5,000 in the 1960s to 40,000 today. There are so many of them that they are running out of food.

In the 21st century, columnists must offer actual proof to make their case because the truth seeps out online.

And so it goes with the various attempts to get President Trump, The truth once again is torpedoing efforts to impeach him.

Gamely, the phony conservatives trod on pretending he coerced Ukraine into investigating the firm that gave his son a million bucks a year.

Noonan and company want readers to overlook the fact that Ukrainians voted out the corrupt government that Obama backed, and elected as president a reformer to drain their swamp.

The Democrat Vapid Response Team acts as if the public has not read the transcript of the July 25 call to Ukraine.

The transcript is here.

Trump said, "Good because I heard you had a prosecutor who was very·good and he was shut down and that's really unfair. A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved. Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what's happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great.

"The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news and the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news so I just want to let you know that.

"The other thing, there's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you ·can look into it. It sounds horrible to me."

Investigating corruption is not an impeachable offense. The probable cause came from Quid Pro Joe Biden's own lips when he bragged about extortion to the Council on Foreign Relations.

The New York Sun transcribed his words.

Biden said, “I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee.

“I had gotten a commitment from [President] Poroshenko and from [Prime Minister] Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor. And they didn’t. So they said they had — they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to — or, we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, ‘you have no authority. You’re not the president.’”

“The president said — I said, call him. [Laughter.]

“I said, ‘I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars.’ I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in,’ I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch. [Laughter.] He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

***

This is an open and shut case of corruption. Biden's son received a million-dollar-a-year bribe from Burisma and his father stopped the prosecution of Burisma by using extortion.

President Trump wants it investigated.

Every honest, red blooded American wants it investigated.

The Democrats failed to prove their case last week. The prospect of President Trump forcing a real impeachment trial before the Senate -- complete with his lawyers putting top Democrats and the Obama crew on the stand -- have cured impeachment fever. I doubt they will go ahead with their scorching the Earth to get Donald Trump.

But Noonan ignored the facts. Back when newspapers were the only source of news for people, she could get away with that. She thinks it is 1920 instead of 2019.

She wrote, "Look, the case has been made. Almost everything in the impeachment hearings this week fleshed out and backed up the charge that President Trump muscled Ukraine for political gain. The pending question is what precisely the House and its Democratic majority will decide to include in the articles of impeachment, what statutes or standards they will assert the president violated."

She completely ignored the fact that there was no testimony at all this week to that effect.

Noonan struggled to make a case that is not there and was not made. She conceded that the star military witness was a loser. She wrote, "Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was not a persuasive witness and did not move the story forward, because in spite of the obvious patriotism reflected in his record he was annoying — smug and full of himself. He appeared in full dress uniform with three rows of ribbons.

"When Rep. Devin Nunes called him Mr. Vindman, he quickly corrected him: 'Ranking Member, it’s Lieutenant Colonel Vindman, please.' Oh, snap. As he described his areas of authority at the National Security Council, he seemed to glisten with self-regard."

Eyeroll.

As Jon Gabriel of Ricochet tweeted, we all ran into a Vindman when we were in the military.

Then there was Fiona Hill. Far from being a dedicated civil servant, she is a partisan planted in the administration.
But Noonan went full deep state writing, "What became obvious in the hearings was the sober testimony from respectable diplomats — not disgruntled staffers with nutty memoirs but people of stature who don’t ordinarily talk — about how the administration operates. It became clear in a new and public way that pretty much everyone around the president has been forced for three years to work around his poor judgment and unpredictability in order to do their jobs. He no doubt knows this and no doubt doesn’t care. Because he’s the boss, they’ll do it his way."

And therein lies the problem.

Government employees are not supposed to work around the president. They are supposed to carry out his orders.

Does Noonan work around Rupert Murdoch?

No, she writes what he wants. He does not like Trump. Well, Trump is not a fan of his either.

And along with Murdoch, Noonan has no moral authority because she has accepted as business as usual Biden's extortion, Obama's spying, Hillary's emoluments via her fake charity, and Kerry recently doing diplomacy-in-exile with Iranians.

Obama said there was not a smidgen of scandal in his administration. He also said you can keep your doctor.

Fool me once, shame on you. Noonan's columns are walks of shame for her. Kardashian made a sex tape 20 years ago. She learned. Noonan hasn't.

Did Trump allow the first "rough" draft transcript come out to ensnare others?

    I assert, yes.

    1. No. He is not Machialvelli. He actually is a very straight forward guy. He thought the whole thing would go away if he released the transcript.
His biggest problem from day one has been poor staffing. He had no prior large political entourage loyal to him to put in position after his election. People like him because he is not a politician, but he has paid some price for not being one.
His character has made American politics black and white, for or against.

    - High Noonan Update

much like the use of "Bombshell" (TM) as a word to denote any testimony at the Schiff Show

NOW the word meme will be "the case has been made"

Which is classic persuasion (is someone listening to Cialdini this time Dems?). This is setting the goal post, assuming the sale typical rhetoric.

Good Journalists don't fall for this, repeat the talking point then write story. But for some reason Noonan has been saying the Dem party talking points for a long time now.

And she has been literally taking dictation from Democrats lately. It's to the point that she's turning into a political Parrot (wonder what crackers she was offered to turn into this parrot? hmmm). Perhaps the young people in the office have said "Ok Boomer" to the point her brain went haywire.

"The Case Has Been Made." Mark those words because on Sunday morning that Will. Be. Repeated. Repeatedly.

Like John Carter of Mars we have all been "Telegraphed" to another world where saying a message (with said message provided by DNC central command) is now public debate about a Presidency and our collective future. Why do I yearn for the days when Soros told us what to think?

But it's all window dressing. They didn't make the case. AND I love that public Television has finally exposed the deep derp state. The Derp State paraded up and preened and postured saying oh so smart things and creating terrible optics for them. A decidedly NFL Linebacker-like Fiona told us in a strangely affected English accent what we should think about things.

Meanwhile anyone watching was wondering if they were watching an episode of He Said/She Said with only one person there.

The 'case has been made'. Indeed it has. The case has been made that Policy Wonks and Bureaucrats are NOT the President BECAUSE they can't look good and decently intelligent on TV. If ever there has been a case where someone thinking "If I were President, I'd do X". This whole Schiff Show demonstrates WHY you never let that Bureaucrat fantasy time happen in real life. (oh wait apparently IT DID happen under the lazy eye of Obama, we let a whole Bunch of NSC numbering 400+ people work on our Ukraine policy)

How many of those 400+ could have been spies?

How many of those 400+ were a part of the 70 Billion dollar heist of the century?

  5. This adds to Don's writings. Most of this was not part of the Q & A in the inquiry. Items !2 & !4 are important. #12 explains why the prosecutor was called corrupt and justified his firing and #14 shows that in March 2019 the investigation of Burisma was reinitiated months before the July 25, 2019 call. It is well worth a read to clarify what was going on for years in Ukraine.

Decent people ignore this nonsense they really don't care. They have to actually work for a living so why would they participate in this theatrical nonsense?

They won't of course. This neocon blogger imagines a world of his own making he lives in fantasy land. Just like liberals do.

  10. The corrupt prosecutor that Biden got canned was never going to indict Burisma. To suggest otherwise is just dishonest.

Only the base buys this nonsense. The majority of the voters who voted against Trump can see this.
