Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump never lies. He exaggerates and occasionally makes a mistake. But he does not lie. He just told the world the border is secure. The media ignored it.

I didn't. It's true. The border is secure. Mexico secured it because the alternative was what would now be a 25% tariff.

ITEM 1: Deadspin reported, "If you paid attention to ESPN channels yesterday, you saw the network repeatedly attempt to grapple with the story of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey creating an international incident after tweeting and then deleting his support for pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong. You heard talking head after talking head castigate Morey for sending the tweet, speculation over whether he’d keep his job, speculation about the sincerity of his convictions, discussions about what this meant for the Rockets’ bottom line, the observation that it’s unreasonable to expect for-profit companies like the NBA to act morally, and the non-take that cowing to China is simply the cost of doing business in China.

"What you didn’t hear was much discussion about what is actually happening on the ground with protestors in Hong Kong, why they’re protesting, or any other acknowledgment of China’s political situation, past or present.

"This could be because Chuck Salituro, the senior news director of ESPN, sent a memo to shows mandating that any discussion of the Daryl Morey story avoid any political discussions about China and Hong Kong, and instead focus on the related basketball issues. The memo, obtained by Deadspin, explicitly discouraged any political discussion about China and Hong Kong. Multiple ESPN sources confirmed to Deadspin that network higher-ups were keeping a close eye on how the topic was discussed on ESPN’s airwaves."

ESPN is owned by Disney.

Disney is owned by Red China. We know this because Disney allowed Chairman Xi to ban Winnie the Pooh without pulling out of the communist country.

Fake American companies like Disney see their future in Red China, not here.

New Official NBA Shoe.

ITEM 2: Judicial Watch reported, "Under a long-term deal sealed by the Obama administration, a Chinese Communist company was set to control the second-busiest container port in the United States. In an unreported Trump administration victory, the Communists are out after a drawn-out national security review forced a unit of China-based COSCO Shipping Holdings Co. (Orient Overseas Container Line — OOCL) to sell the cherished container terminal business, which handles among the largest freight of imports into the U.S.

"It all started with a 40-year container terminal lease between the Port of Long Beach in southern California and Hong Kong. The Obama administration proudly signed the agreement in 2012 giving China control of America’s second-largest container port behind the nearby Port of Los Angeles.

"One of the Trump administration’s first big moves was to get the Communists out of the Port of Long Beach. After a national security review and federal intervention, the Long Beach terminal business, which handles millions of containers annually, is finally being sold to an Australian company called Macquarie Infrastructure Partners. That essentially kills China’s decades-long contract with the Obama administration."

Red China may own Disney, Democrats and the NBA but it does not own the White House any more.

ITEM 3: CNN reported, "The House Intelligence Committee and lawyers for the whistle blower who filed a complaint about President Donald Trump's conduct are discussing extreme measures to protect the individual's identity amid growing concerns about his or her safety, according to several sources familiar with the process.

"The news comes after Trump has said he wants to know the whistle blower's identity and sought to discredit the anonymous individual as a partisan actor who misconstrued the details of his call with the Ukrainian leader. This despite the fact that a rough transcript of the conversation released by the White House only seemed to corroborate many of the details in the complaint filed with the Intelligence Community Inspector General.

"It is still unclear when the whistle blower might ultimately talk with the committee. But talks are underway looking at several options to attempt to prevent the whistle blower from being identified or having his or her name leaked to the press."

The Constitution says, "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

The cuckoos attempting this coup will have to get 38 states to rescind this God-given right. Otherwise, unmask the accuser.

Just remember, Democrats and the media are more concerned with the security of their spies in the White House than they are with the security of the nation.

ITEM 4: Katie Pavlich asked, "Did James Clapper Just Admit President Obama Directed Him to Go After the Trump Campaign?"

She cited an interview with CNN.

Clapper said, "I don't know. I don’t think there was any wrongdoing.

"My main concern was with the Russians and the threat posed by the Russians to our very political fabric and ugh, the message I'm getting from all of this is apparently what we were supposed to have done was to ignore the Russian interference, ignore the Russian meddling and the threat that it poses to us and oh by the way, blown off what the then commander-in-chief, President Obama, told us to do, which was to assemble all of the reporting we could."

He was just following orders.

ITEM 5: Community Digital News broke it down, "Everything that James Clapper, James Comey, and John Brennan did to create the Russia Hoax and undermine President Trump was on Barack Obama’s direct order."

The story said, "Brennan and Clapper were spying on thousands of Americans citizens using NSA surveillance systems under FISA 702 authority for over 4 years. James Comey specifically authorized three contractors’ unlimited access to NSA surveillance systems. The contractors reported directly to Clapper and Brennan.

"Over the span of 4 years, Clapper and / or Brennan, via their contractors, utilized the NSA data systems 40,000 times. FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled in April of 2017 that 85%, or 32,500 searches of the database were illegal, unconstitutional, a violation of the 4th Amendment and a violation of the civil rights of exhibitors and every American that was spied on."

President Trump has that data and has had it since before his March 4, 2017, tweet that Obama wiretapped him.

ITEM 6: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey will visit the White House next month. The press is going nuts with this because President Trump outsourced to Turkey the mopping up of the remnants of the ISIS army in Syria.

The concern is for the Kurds, a transnational ethnic minority that the United States has supported for decades. The Kurds allied with us in the Gulf War.

However, the Kurds backed rebels in Turkey against the Erdogan administration. Given that Turkey is a NATO ally, President Trump has a diplomatic time bomb that Obama could not diffuse.

President Trump is.

In announcing U.S. troops leaving the battlefield in favor of an ally, President Trump very publicly stated that he will destroy Turkey's economy if Erdogan attacks the Kurds. This meeting in November is an assurance that Erdogan will comply.

FLASHBACKHürriyet Daily News reported on January 20, 2012, "U.S. President Barack Obama named Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan among the five leaders that he has established relations based on confidence, in an interview with Time.

"In an interview with Fareed Zakaria, the Editor-at-Large of Time magazine, Obama named Turkish PM Erdoğan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, and British Prime Minister David Cameron among leaders that he was able to forge 'bonds of trust.'"

Merkel and Erdogan are the only ones left in power.

ITEM 7: A reader writes, "I see where a teacher in Georgia has been suspended for putting up the image of a confederate flag in a Power Point presentation during class. The caption to the picture read, 'A sticker you put on the back of your pick up truck to announce that you intend to marry your sister. Think of it as a white trash Save the Date card.'

"That got me to thinking, I wonder if that teacher would ever put up an image of a Koran with a similar caption? After all, Rep Ilhan Omar did marry her brother so he could get in the country."

It won't happen.

Virtue signalers want praise, not death.

ITEM 8: Amy Howe tweeted, "SCOTUS just finished oral arguments on whether federal civil rights laws protect LGBT employees. Case could hinge on Justice Neil Gorsuch, who acknowledged that question is close but also expressed concern about 'massive social upheaval.'"

The reaction is as expected. Angelo Guisado tweeted, "Everyone: sex discrimination is wrong, transgender people deserve equal rights, and labor protections are important."

If the only reason you have a job is because you cannot be fired because you are LGBT then you are not very good and should be fired. Being LGBT should not be a lifetime guarantee of a job.

ITEM 9: News Hub reported, "Support for Greta Thunberg is evidence of 'white supremacy,' 'white privilege' and 'white power,' activists claim.

"The 16-year-old environmental campaigner has gained international visibility for her climate activism, including a fiery speech to world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly where she accused them of stealing her dreams.

"However some are questioning however why Greta, a white child, is gaining so much attention over indigenous activists. They say that Greta is benefiting from a 'global system of white supremacy' which has given her 'privilege and a platform.'"

Actually, it is Pippi Longstocking Privilege. But don't bogart that popcorn, my friend. Pass it over to me.

ITEM 10:
"This time it will be different" is the lefty version of "hold my beer."

ITEM 11The Epoch Times reported, "President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign is accusing the mayor of Minneapolis of abusing his office by trying to block an upcoming rally in the Minnesota city."

The story said, "The city government told the Target Center that the venue had to put up $530,000 for security and other costs linked to the event, even as the campaign told the arena that the U.S. Secret Service would be coordinating security, according to the campaign."

The city charged Obama $20,000.

But the city relented late Tuesday after President Trump set a deadline before legal action would begin, WCCO reported.

ITEM 12: CBS reported, "Elizabeth Warren stands by account of being pushed out of her first teaching job because of pregnancy."

She thinks she can get away with this lie because it does not involve a DNA test.
Politics is flypaper for liars.

ITEM 13: The San Francisco Chronicle reported, "Sen. Dianne Feinstein is making her 2020 presidential endorsement official: She’s backing former Vice President Joe Biden over a field that includes her California colleague, Sen. Kamala Harris."

As Mom always said, they never made a kitchen big enough for two women.

ITEM 14: Breitbart News reported, "Some of the moviegoers who flocked to see Joker over the weekend aren’t smiling about the film’s prominent use of a song by convicted pedophile Gary Glitter on the soundtrack."

Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon wrote, "Layla." Gordon murdered his mother 13 years later and is serving life in prison.

But it is nice to see the left suddenly concerned about pedophilia. It is like them coming out against drunk driving a decade after Chappaquiddick.
ITEM 15:
Someone should commit journalism and ask Kareem Abdul Jabbar about this.

ITEM 16:
Two great men doing great work.
