Highlights of the News

Donald John Trump is still our president.

ITEM 1: Fox News reported, "In a major win for the Trump administration, the Supreme Court issued an order late Wednesday ending a nationwide injunction that had blocked the White House's ban on asylum for anyone trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border by transiting through a third country.

"The order was not a final ruling on the merits, but allowed the policy to proceed while lower courts in the 9th Circuit address the case."

An Obama judge in San Francisco -- Jon Tigar -- took it upon himself to veto an international agreement made by the president. Like so many of the authoritarian judges Obama appointed and Democrats confirmed, Tigar is foreign born.

President Trump obeys the Constitution that Obama judges ignore.

ITEM 2: President Trump tweeted, "At the request of the Vice Premier of China, Liu He, and due to the fact that the People's Republic of China will be celebrating their 70th Anniversary on October 1st, we have agreed, as a gesture of good will, to move the increased Tariffs on $250 Billion worth of goods (25% to 30%), from October 1st to October 15th."

At the risk of reading too much into that, it is interesting that Liu He and not Chairman Xi made the request. This could mean Chairman Xi is on the way out.

More likely this is part of a climb down by both sides to get an agreement.

 ITEM 3:

Some airplanes did something.

The second sentence is awful as well. Some families will grieve, and not an entire nation.

Eventually, the Times deleted its tweet. I guess a few liberals must have complained that the callousness of the tweet hurts the brand. The Times is American in name only.

ITEM 4: President Donald Trump tweeted, "The Federal Reserve should get our interest rates down to ZERO, or less, and we should then start to refinance our debt. INTEREST COST COULD BE BROUGHT WAY DOWN, while at the same time substantially lengthening the term. We have the great currency, power, and balance sheet.

"The USA should always be paying the the lowest rate. No Inflation! It is only the naïveté of Jay Powell and the Federal Reserve that doesn’t allow us to do what other countries are already doing. A once in a lifetime opportunity that we are missing because of Boneheads."

The tweet got Powell's attention and got the left to scream like banshees. Win win, baby.

ITEM 5: The Hill reported, "Senate Democrats are threatening to withhold their votes on a spending bill for the Pentagon unless Republicans agree to block President Trump from repurposing defense funds for his wall on the Mexican border, a tactic he’s employed in recent months.

"Democrats on Thursday will offer an amendment in committee to block Trump from reprogramming defense funds for his wall."

Democrats have hated the U.S. military since 1861, with timeouts for their wars and presidential elections.

ITEM 6: The Daily Caller reported, "Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson cautioned Democrats on pivoting too far to the left on immigration issues, warning that it could cost them in the 2020 election."

Johnson served under Obama.

He said, "Look, most Americans want to be fair and treated in a humane way, those who have migrated here who are desperate, who are fleeing really bad conditions … We want to take care of the Dreamers, but Americans also want secure borders. They want to get control of illegal migration."

I thank him for speaking up, secure in the knowledge that know-it-all Democrats will ignore him.

ITEM 7: Fox News reported, "Former ICE director Tom Homan appeared before a House subcommittee Wednesday ready for a fight – and he got one.

"During a hearing held by the House Oversight Civil Rights and Civil Liberties subcommittee, Homan insisted that Democrats were pushing a false narrative that the Trump administration was ending deferred action -- a type of deportation reprieve -- for illegal immigrants with medical issues. The hearing room erupted when Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., challenged his account, in starkly personal terms."

Another Obama official speaks out against the Democrat pursuit of open borders.

Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz called him a liar.

He said, "If I can respond to the earlier remark from Wasserman Schultz, I’ve forgotten more about this issue than you’ll ever know.

"So if you say my testimony is inaccurate, it’s wrong. Everything I said here is accurate. Bottom line. If you want to go toe to toe, I’m here. I’m here on my own time to speak to the American people about what’s false and what’s fact."

Forget grabbing independent voters. Democrats will have trouble getting Democrat votes.

ITEM 8: Actress Alyssa Milano debated Senator Ted Cruz over banning private ownership of guns.

In the debate, she said, "By the way, I have two guns in my household for self-defense, just so you know."

Guns for me, not thee.

ITEM 9: CBS reported, "Toymaker Hasbro is putting its own spin on the gender pay gap debate, on Tuesday announcing a new Monopoly game in which women players get more money than men."

Hasbro calls it Ms. Monopoly.

I look forward to Reparations Monopoly followed by Reconquista Monopoly.

ITEM 10The Hill reported, "Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch responded to critics who might think that it is the job of judges to fix politics [he said] in an interview with CNN.

"'Do you really want me to rule the country?' he asked.

"'It is a raucous republic and the battle of ideas is what our founders had in mind,' he continued. What they didn't have in mind 'was nine old people in Washington sitting in robes telling everybody else how to live.'"

The strongest men on Earth are those who resist temptation. May Justice Gorsuch become the Andre the Giant of the Supreme Court.

ITEM 11: Ted Cruz tweeted, "74% of the best cities in America on USA Today list are in red states that voted GOP in 2016. 2 of top 10 are in TX, including #1 (within my hometown of Houston). It’s almost like low taxes, low regs & lots of jobs are good for raising strong families."

Republican tweets are more factual than those from reporters.

ITEM 12:
Satire is barely ahead of reality these days.

  1. 7 - haven’t heard from the obnoxious DWS In Quite a while. She has been laying low due to her role in the Pakistani bother’s stealing data from the confessional computers. We have not forgotten and hope that somehow, justice will be served upon this horrid person.

    1. Mr. Homan should have dared her to repeat her accusations outside of the halls of Congress where DWS has immunity for any outrageous statement she would make. The ensuing lawsuit would have been hilariousl

  3. Doesn't anyone wonder how Europe is getting away with negative interest rates? They plop their money here, take the interest and they're STILL ripping us off!!!! We have been sold out by our "betters"

    ReplyDelete

    1. How exactly does that count as ripping us off? Don't they have the same right to earn interest on money they loan the US government as we do? It's the negative interest rate, which means they get back LESS than they invested, that causes them to invest in our bonds, which actually pay at least some interest.

  4. I was so sure you were kidding about the Monopoly game that I had to read it twice. You are so right about satire being barely ahead of reality. Not even feeling confident that it is still ahead when I see what the Dems are putting out there.

Its hogwash time again! Wilson entered WW1. FDR WW2.

Ditto JFK in Vietnam. Clinton used minor wars all the time to distract the public. Hillary wiped out Libya, Syria, and Honduras.

So ignore the facts of history with your fake news.

    2. Is this satire? And I missed it?

The dems love their wars, just hate the military.

Don said "Democrats have hated the U.S. military since 1861, with timeouts for their wars and presidential elections." You confirmed it "Wilson entered WW1. FDR WW2.

Ditto JFK in Vietnam. Clinton used minor wars all the time to distract the public. Hillary wiped out Libya, Syria, and Honduras." Not one republican president.

    3. Democrats were always known as “the war party” because every time they were in office we wound up in a war.

Aside from Lincoln (civil war) Bushes 1&2 (Iraq) Bush 2 (Afghanistan). And I suspect there are others.

As to Bush and Afghanistan, please keep in mind that nearly all the planning and preparation took place on worthless Willie's watch.

    9. Democrats, not Lincoln started the Civil War?

Hogwash. Lincoln invaded the South. He was desperate to preserve his tariff base headquartered at Fort Sumter.

So catch up with the facts if your conscience can bear it. Y'all are the most warmongering bunch of chickenhawks who ever squawked.

  6. The tweet got Powell's attention

So? Its clear Surber adores the raw power of DC to manipulate the price of money. He loves power more than the liberals do.

Now if Obama had said that Surber would scream like a banshee. He's a hypocrite.

    3. Lap it up fools. Zero interest rates bankrupts the pension industry. Without them they are busted their unfunded debts are already threatening.

But those facts require knowledge of finance and economics something sorely lacking here.

So try not to shake in your boots when the carnage begins and your benefits are slashed by half or more.

    5. Nony, Obama was gifted very low interest rates throughout his presidency and didn't need to negotiate lower rates.
Our economy is strong now and Pres. Trump is negotiating a lower interest rate for our country. Its the right thing to do. POTUS is a builder and this is an important part of building. Its what he does and he's very good at it. Besides, nobody is forcing people to buy U.S. treasuries and they should be as low as the market will bear.

    3. Major League Baseball did the Times one better. It refused to allow the NY Mets, who played the first baseball game in NYC after 9/11, the chance to fully recognize that day 18 years ago.

An ignorant professional sports organization strikes again. The idea that MLB put the kibosh on caps memorializing 9/11 tells you more about the mindset of the suits who run baseball than anything else. I believe the time has come to demand that MLB move its offices out of NYC.

If I may remind. In 2016, five police officers were assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The NFL refused to allow the Cowboys to memorialize them with anything on their uniforms. That city's NHL team not only memorialized them with stickers on the helmets of the players, but had a moving pre-game ceremony with the relatives of a number of the officers. How is it that only the NHL gets this stuff right?

Rookie Pete Alonso has embarrassed baseball by arranging for each of his teammates to wear cleats memorializing 9/11/01. Hope the link works.

  13. 18 years, and the fearful "conservatives" have yet to own their role in buying into an unnecessary and costly war predicated on 19 (mostly Saudi) terrorists.

Faux News channel worked hard to conflate Iraq with 9/11 and it paid off. The dupes went for it.

Today they cozy up to the Saudis.

Might as well invite the Taliban to Camp David--just don't let anyone know.
