Blond NYC native making Brexit happen

I was going to include this in tomorrow's "Highlights of the News," but I like to share good news as soon as possible.

The BBC reported, "Parliament will be suspended just days after MPs return to work in September and only a few weeks before the Brexit deadline.

"Boris Johnson said a Queen's Speech would take place after the suspension, on 14 October, to outline his 'very exciting agenda.'

"But it means the time MPs have to pass laws to stop a no-deal Brexit on 31 October would be cut. House of Commons Speaker John Bercow said it was a constitutional outrage."

Fox News later reported, "Queen approves Boris Johnson's request to suspend Parliament."

Soon-To-Be-Great-Again Britain learned electing a blond native of New York City is the best way to kick the establishment in the fanny.

Yes, Johnson was born in the USA. Oh, he is British elitist as anyone. He did Eton and Oxford. He often is as serious as Benny Hill.

But he is getting the job done.

That the queen suspended Parliament shows she supports a Brexit of the European Union on Johnson's terms.

Fox News reported, "Nigel Farage, leader of the Brexit party, said the move would make a no-confidence motion in Johnson certain, adding that 'a general election is more likely and is seen as a positive move by Brexiteers.'"

That other blond New York City native head of state tweeted, "Would be very hard for Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of Britain’s Labour Party, to seek a no-confidence vote against New Prime Minister Boris Johnson, especially in light of the fact that Boris is exactly what the U.K. has been looking for, & will prove to be 'a great one!' Love U.K."

Fox News reported, "A no-deal Brexit would see the return of border checks and tariffs on trade between Britain and the rest of the EU, its largest trading partner."

But President Donald John Trump and Johnson appear to have a trade deal ready to go once Britain exits the EU on Halloween. World Trade Organization membership also should keep the trade going.

Exports do account for 30% of the British economy, so there is a rein on British independence.

But European Union membership is no longer acceptable and it must leave. Maybe Britain can replace Red China as a supplier of goods to the USA.

We shall see, but one thing we know. Brash New Yorkers get stuff done.
