Highlights of the News

Colin Kaepernick's new shoe.

ITEM 1: Reuters reported, "In a stinging defeat for President Donald Trump, his administration has ended its effort to add a citizenship question to the 2020 U.S. census, saying that it will begin printing forms that do not include the contentious query.

"White House and Justice Department officials confirmed the decision, which came in the aftermath of a Supreme Court ruling on June 27 that faulted the Trump administration for its original attempt to add the question.

"Although the court left open the possibility of the administration adding the question, there was little time left for the government to come up with a new rationale."

Why bother having laws?

We asked this question for 20 consecutive censuses until Obama got one.

Republicans must challenge in court everything the next Democrat president does. If he changes the toilet paper in the executive bathroom, haul him into court to challenge whether the paper goes over or under the roll.

ITEM 2: Patrick Howley reported, "Democrat Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison, formerly a top Democratic National Committee official, deleted his tweet supporting the radical left-wing network Antifa, which viciously beat journalist Andy Ngo in Portland over the weekend. But Ellison’s association with a top Portland ANTIFA leader is now coming under renewed scrutiny.

"The attack on Ngo was premeditated, according to Ngo’s own words before the attack happened. Antifa used quick-dry cement, which they filled milkshake cups with — a tactic known as 'milkshaking,' which Antifa has clearly taken to a new violent level.

"Ellison was called out for deleting his infamous tweet praising the ANTIFA handbook, which he held in a photo, as the book that would 'strike fear in the heart' of President Donald Trump."

Ngo should add him to the list of people he sues.

By the way, I remember when Minnesotans were so decent that people mistook them for Canadians.

ITEM 3: Caleb Parke (cq) reported, "The Rev. Samuel Rodriguez was full of indignation when he saw the reports and heard from politicians about the deplorable and inhumane conditions for illegal immigrants at an El Paso County, Texas migrant detention center. But what he saw at the same facility toured by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. with a group of pastors was 'drastically different.'

"The president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the world's largest Hispanic Christian organization, and senior pastor of New Seasons Christian Worship Center in Sacramento shared his firsthand experience touring a migrant detention center during a press briefing Monday.

"'I read the reports, saw the news clips. I just wanted to see what was actually happening in order to better enable our efforts to find a fair and a just solution to our broken immigration system,' Rodriguez, who has advised President Trump and both Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on immigration reform, noted. 'To my surprise, I saw something drastically different from the stories I’ve been hearing in our national discourse. Even as a veteran of immigration advocacy in the U.S., I was shocked at the misinformation of the crisis at the border.'"

Fake News? In America? Reporters and Democrats lying to make America look bad? How often does this happen?

I mean, besides daily.

ITEM 4: Katie Pavlich reported, "Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson gave the left another reality check over the weekend about detention centers on the southern border with Mexico.

"'Chain link barriers, partitions, fences, cages, whatever you want to call them, were not invented on January 20, 2017, OK' Johnson said during an interview at the Aspen Institute.

"Johnson was asked about a photo taken in 2014. It shows the former Secretary touring a border detention facility in Arizona when the unaccompanied minor and family unit crisis actually began. Most of the media started paying attention to the issue, while expressing outrage over the Trump administration's response to it, only recently."

Maybe we can tax the media to pay for Holiday Inns for our guests.

ITEM 5: Caitlin Yilek reported, "President Trump’s reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee raised $105 million in the second quarter of 2019, beating President Barack Obama’s fundraising efforts by tens of millions during the same point in his reelection campaign.

"Trump raised $54 million and the RNC brought in $51 million, the campaign said Tuesday. The two have a combined $100 million cash on hand and have raised more money online in the second quarter than the first half of 2018.

"The haul was a 'massive fundraising success,' Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale said."

Unlike Obama's money, the president's haul is not kickbacks and bribes.

ITEM 6: Sundance reported, "An interesting discussion between Representative John Ratcliffe, former congressman Trey Gowdy and Fox News Host Jason Chaffetz surrounding: the pending Inspector General Report into FISA abuse; the upcoming Mueller testimony; and the activity of U.S. Attorney John Durham.

"Within the interview Ratcliffe notes he has recently spoken to Inspector General Horowitz about the timing of his upcoming report where Ratcliffe says the 'investigative work is complete.'"

Cue Dusty Springfield.
Wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' each night of his charms
That won't get you into his arms
So if you're lookin' to find love you can share
All you gotta do is hold him and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care
ITEM 7: Reuters reported, "White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Tuesday U.S. trade talks with China are heading in the right direction and any concessions to Beijing on Huawei Technologies were small in the context of a larger trade deal.

"'We're headed in a very good direction,' Navarro said in an interview with CNBC. 'It's complicated, as the president said, correctly, this will take time and we want to get it right. So let's get it right.'

"Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed in a meeting on Saturday at the Group of 20 summit in Japan to restart trade talks after the last major round of negotiations collapsed in May.

"The partial lifting of restrictions on Huawei was a key element of the agreement, which allows expanded sales of U.S. technology supplies to the Chinese telecommunications giant. Washington put Huawei on an export blacklist in May, citing national security concerns over its 5G network technology."

Be patient.

Time is on our side. Yes it is, yes it is.

ITEM 8: Jerry Dunleavy reported, "The former top lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign who hired Fusion GPS to carry out controversial opposition research against then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016 is now working for a top 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful.

"Marc Elias, who heads Perkins Coie’s political law group, became general counsel for California Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential bid this year. Elias, who held the same position in Clinton's campaign, is named in two pending Federal Election Commission complaints and in a recent federal lawsuit alleging that the Clinton campaign broke campaign finance laws when it used Perkins Coie to hire Fusion GPS."

The Obamas are greasing the wheels for her. They want President Donald John Trump to face the most formidable candidate they have.

ITEM 9: This Week reported, "Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Tuesday announced his campaign has raised $18 million in the second quarter of 2019, coming in behind his 2020 rival, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

"Sanders' campaign is reporting $24 million for the second quarter of the year, with $18 million of that having been raised and $6 million having been transferred from other accounts. Both numbers are shy of the $24.8 million Buttigieg on Monday reported his campaign has raised in the past three months, The New York Times notes. No other 2020 Democrat has reported their second quarter fundraising numbers yet, although President Trump's re-election campaign on Tuesday announced a giant $105 million raised in the quarter both from the campaign itself and from the Republican National Committee, NBC News reports."

Bernie is so 2016.

Alfred E. Neuman is the flavor this year.

ITEM 10: Fred Lucas reported, "Trump Signs Law Making It Harder for IRS to Seize Money From Americans."

The story said, "The Internal Revenue Service seized $446,000 from the bank accounts of brothers Jeffrey, Richard, and Mitch Hirsch in 2012, claiming a “structuring” violation against the owners of Bi-County Distributors Inc. for making multiple bank deposits of less than $10,000.

"The government never charged them with a crime, nor gave them a hearing to enable them to contest the seizure, but after intense national media attention to the case, the government returned the funds."

Thank you, Congress. Thank you, Mister President.

ITEM 11Jeff Jacoby wrote, "In the summer of 2009, a few months into Barack Obama's first term, posters bearing the caption 'Socialism' appeared, on which the president was depicted as the Joker from the Batman movie The Dark Knight. The poster was promptly denounced as racist. 'All that's missing is a noose,' a columnist for LA Weekly asserted.

"That wasn't the only time Obama's defenders blasted those associating him with socialism as racist. 'Right-wing attempts to paint Barack Obama as a socialist,' argued an essay in The American Prospect, are 'rooted in a history of conservative smears against black leaders." The Christian Science Monitor published an analysis of the 'racist undertones of the socialist epithet.' In Salon, Michael Lind accused John McCain of blowing a 'racial dog whistle' by linking Obama's policies to socialism."

His point is now all Democrats are openly socialist. I agree.

ITEM 12: The New York Post reported, "President Trump on Tuesday revealed details of his Salute to America celebration in DC on July 4, including flyovers by the famed Blue Angels and performances by the National Symphony Orchestra, Vanessa Williams and the Muppets.

"'This year’s annual Independence Day celebration on the National Mall, will feature music, flyovers, fireworks, and an address by President Donald J. Trump,' read a statement from the Department of the Interior that the president shared on Twitter.

"'Salute to America will honor each of the nation’s five service branches with music, military demonstrations, multiple flyovers including a flight demonstration by the Blue Angels, and much more.'

"The 'more' includes Abrams tanks and other military vehicles, the president said a day earlier.

"The National Independence Day Parade will be held from 11:45 a.m. until 2 p.m., and runs from Constitution Avenue NW from 7th Street to 17th Street NW.

"At 6:30 p.m., the president will preside over the Salute to America at the Lincoln Memorial with military brass and a VIP tent of family and friends."

Democrats are miffed.

Welcome to Doofustan where communists cheer gay pride parades for the few, but boo an American parade for all of us.

ITEM 13: The New York Times said, "A clash between conservative marchers and black-clad protesters in Portland this weekend, which left a conservative journalist roughed up and bloodied, has renewed attention in a movement dedicated to confronting white supremacists, right-wing extremists and, in some cases, ordinary supporters of President Trump."

The clash did not leave Andy Ngo roughed up and bloodied.

Violent communists beat him so bad he wound up in a hospital.

The Times has no shame and no interest in the truth.

ITEM 14: Victor Morton reported, "Code Pink can have the Baby Trump blimp on the National Mall for President Trump’s Lincoln Memorial speech on Thursday — just not off the ground and not where Mr. Trump can see it, the group claimed.

"According to a Tuesday press release from Code Pink, the National Park Service has granted the left-wing gadflies a demonstration permit.

"But it 'does not allow the balloon to be filled with any helium, only air, and the permit is not in the location we requested — within line of sight of the Lincoln Memorial where President Trump will be speaking,' the group said.

"Without helium, the small blimp of Mr. Trump’s head on a diapered baby’s body cannot rise off the ground."

Code Pink is blue.
Not an item. I just love her hat.

  1. Regarding the detention facilities for illegal immigrants and asylum seekers, I wonder how the living conditions in those places compares to the living conditions the detainees are accustomed to?

When I hear that the detainees don't have soap or toothbrushes I can't help but wonder if they brought any with them. When someone says those places are unsanitary I ask if the detainees are prohibited from practicing good sanitation.

As my grandma would have said, "Beggars can't be choosers."

    2. When you see crowded detention centers remember that each person represents $7,000 to $12,000 paid to the human smuggling division of the drug cartels.

Democrats are enabling cartels to make billions in their modern day slave trade.

  3. Re: Trump fundraising

For eight long years Obama never seemed to go anywhere officially without also attending at least 1 fundraiser and playing a round of golf.

While four Americans died in Benghazi, Obama got a good night's sleep and took off for a fundraiser in Vegas. Trump owns his own golf courses but spends less time on the links than Obama did.

  4. I love the idea of the President participating in country's July 4th celebration. But I'm on tenterhooks waiting to see how that can happen at the same time as the annual Capitol Fourth presentation, which will have music and fireworks of its own. PBS is doing big ads for it.

  5. "Making It Harder for IRS to Seize Money From Americans"

Seriously you wanna thank them for that? You are grateful that IRS can still seize your money without a jury trial?

Oh but its a lot harder for them to do so! Pardon me but how about making it impossible.

I guess due process does not apply! Its a shame how much people have compromised with this evil immoral progressive tax system.

Far too many people are satisfied with crumbs from the ruling class' table.

    1. We have good friends (they were in our wedding party) who joined a tax protest group many years ago. They both ended up doing hard time over it. From which I developed the pragmatic attitude that it didn't make sense for us peons to try to wrestle the dragon. You can be a martyr if you wish, but it's not right to take your family down with you.
So we now refer to April 15 as "paying tribute to the great Khan". We pay our tribute and he leaves us alone for another year.

  6. I confess I have a certain sympathy for those illegal aliens. They walked thousands of miles, risked dehydration, malnutrition, women raped, child predators, drug runners, gangs, mules, criminals and death for the sake of the American Dream.
The land of opportunity, to create a better life for themselves and their children.

They believed in something and risked everything.

That's a hell of a lot more than woke companies and selfish ex-football players have ever done.

If it were up to me, I would let those people, the ones who believed so strongly in the wonder that is the U.S.A. into this country with open arms and citizenship papers.

And for every one that came in
I would expel a hater, a antifa, those that spit and shit on this country, the ones so full of self loathing they would do anything to disparage and destroy it. The ones who have not applied themselves to be better and have wasted the wonder and opportunity that this great country has offered them.

    1. Don't get too carried away. Remember the anti-Trump demonstrations during the elections where they were carrying flags of Mexico and their home countries?

Most of these people are paying the cartels who put them on buses in their home countries and travel 3 days to discharge at the US border. We saw one group of 1,000 via drone night cam a month ago. The media doesn't show them.

The caravans are staged for maximum media exposure. Few arrive that way.

Well all the GOP is openly fascist except for the freedom caucus. When you have bipartisan leviathan government then this is no surprise.

But people live in fear and big government quells those fears. They sacrifice liberty for security and deserve neither as Franklin said in 1787.
