Why Democrats went silent on climate change

Politico reported that Democrats banned talk about climate change at their presidential debates.

That's odd.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said, "Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it? This is the war — this is our World War II."

Elizabeth Warren said, “America has faced huge challenges before, WWII and putting a man on the moon. This environmental catastrophe bearing down on us may be the biggest challenge yet.”

Wow, this is bigger than a world war or landing the man on the moon.

But Democrats won't talk about it.

Politico said, "Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said Wednesday the Democratic National Committee informed him it will not dedicate one of its presidential primary debates to the issue of climate change.

"The decision comes despite a furious push from progressive and environmental advocates for a climate change debate, as well as strong support across the Democratic ideological spectrum. At least half a dozen Democratic candidates, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and former Obama cabinet official Julián Castro, have backed the idea.

"Inslee, who led the push among presidential candidates and has made climate change the centerpiece of his campaign, called the decision 'deeply disappointing' and out of step with Democratic primary voters. He also said the organization threatened not to invite him to future debates if he participated in any other climate change debate."

There is a reason for this.

Americans are not falling for the Fake Science.

The Pew Research Center found the public is not falling for this sky-is-falling nonsense.

50 years of lying about over-population, global cooling, and global warming have turned the public off.

Democrats don't want to remind the electorate of their role in promoting this Junk Science.

Pew Research reported, "U.S. adults are more likely to say that 'made-up news/info' is a big problem than they are to identify climate change, racism, terrorism, or sexism as such, according to a study out from the Pew Research Center Wednesday: Fifty percent of those surveyed said made-up news (the artist formerly known as 'fake news') is a 'very big problem' in the United States. By comparison, 46 percent called climate change a 'very big problem'; 40 percent said the same about racism; 34 percent said the same about terrorism."

That is why Democrats want to change the subject.

  1. The Climate New Deal calls for every building in America to be renovated or replaced. This has been endorsed by all the Democrat candidates.

  2. After all these years and the full force of academia, the news media, and entertainment and they still cannot sell climate change hysteria to the majority of voters. That says a lot about the power of the media and how limited it can be.

  3. They aren't dumping "climate change". They just don't want it to be debated in public, so that policy can be dictated from above. If people begin to realize how much their lives are going to be micromanaged by the bureaucracy the left hopes to put into place to "combat" any changes in "the" environment, there would be a mass exodus from the party.

This is simply political realism at work.

  4. In fairness to the Democrats -- and you know a sarcastic point is about to follow whenever anybody uses the "in fairness to" set up -- in fairness to the Democrats, there is no need to debate an issue in which they all think exactly precisely totally in complete lockstep alike.

Of course, that means the Dems have no issues to discuss on any topic because, even though they have exactly 16,347 announced candidates for president, they all think exactly the same on every single issue. Dissent from orthodoxy is not permitted on the Democrat plantation. Different skin colors and sexes and sexual orientations may be OK in some circumstances, but only as long as you think precisely the same way as everyone else on every issue. There is nothing to debate.

    1. Yes, TK, and that’s why I left the party in 1986.

  5. Who cares what the leaders of a criminal party think?

  6. Everybody should care what Democratic leaders think. You must know your enemy in order to defeat him. Which is why the progressive media complex is the biggest gift possible to conservatives. Dem politicians and voter only read the approved prog media and are, in consequence, increasingly out of touch with the concerns of the independent voters who determine electoral outcomes.

  8. It is more than Polls, it's Science:
NASA Sees Climate Cooling Trend Thanks to Low Sun Activity
"The Sun has much more impact on our climate than we ever could."
“We see a cooling trend,” said Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.”

The new NASA findings are in line with studies released by UC-San Diego and Northumbria University in Great Britain last year, both of which predict a Grand Solar Minimum in coming decades due to low sunspot activity."

  10. They don't want to discuss it because they might have to admit their plan to raise the cost of gasoline to $7.00 per gallon, among other things.

  11. I wouldn't worry too much about this. The egos that will be on the stage will discuss it at great length even though it is not asked of them as a question. Those idiot science deniers won't be able to help themselves.

  12. They're already pushing companies to do their bidding. I get mail all the time from Appalachian Power asking me to join their energy saver program. That's where they turn off your A/C or turn down your heat to save electricity. They already have the capability of reading your meter from a distance (Mountaineer Gas does that now, as well). How long before the government makes the energy saver program mandatory? The pieces are already in place. - Elric

  13. The UN needs a taxing authority in order to compete effectively with the US on the world stage.

Global Climate alarmism is meant to secure this authority for this anti-American body.

The American Socialist party is completely on-board with both this wealth transfer and the concommitant subordination of American sovereignty to foreign wills.
