Rainbow flag nonsense

For some reason, June is gay pride month. And for some reason the left believes it has a right to fly rainbow flags at U.S.embassies.

No.

That is not right.

We pledge allegiance to one flag and the republic for which it stands, not 50. Would the rainbow crowd be pleased with a Christian flag waving?

With a grown-up in the White House who puts America first, the rainbow flag nonsense ended.

The Hill reported, "Top State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo believes that only the American flag should be flown at U.S. embassies, after reports emerged last week that the Trump administration rejected requests from embassies around the world to fly the rainbow pride flag."

Amen.

They are not gay pride embassies.

They are American embassies. They belong to every citizen, not just one group of people based on their sexual orientation.

June is also National Accordion Awareness Month. Should we fly a picture of Myron Floren at our embassies?

The rainbow flag offends many people. Evangelist Franklin Graham spoke for them.

He said on Facebook, "I want to thank President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for making the decision not to fly the gay flag over our embassies during June in recognition of gay pride month. That is the right decision.

"The gay pride flag is offensive to Christians and millions of people of other faiths, not only in this country but around the world. The U.S. flag represents our nation — everyone — regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation."

Amen.

  1. For some reason, June is gay pride month.

Moslems have January, blacks have February, feminuts have March (figures), the IRS has April, and June is an insult to heterosexuality.

    1. This. Let's just put it in the face of all those June brides and decades of moon-June-spoon romantic songs. I was a June bride myself.

  2. to illustrate how quaint and archaic my beliefs are, I'm still unhappy about the quarters. every backside different, I have to turn them over to make sure they're not Canadian or some fool thing.
    but that's just me.
perhaps on the flag thing, the embassies are America's face to the world. and it's counterproductive to show the world that America in its actions, is willing to pander to a shrill narcissistic group prone to attention demanding stunts.
let's say as a baseline, America should not show willingness to let the loud and petulant have their way.
let's say pandering is no longer in the owners manual for America. the owners had a vote, and replaced the management team.

  7. The irony here is that Trump didn't ban the rainbow flag; he just said it couldn't be flown on the flagpole with our national ensign.

The embassies are perfectly free to display the rainbow flag in other ways such as hung from a balcony. One embassy is using a set of lights in spectral order to "paint" the building with a rainbow.

This is just another fake news report to make Teh Donald look bad.

  9. Reckon you make 90% of this issue go away if you said, "Sure, fly it, but you gotta break it AT DAWN".

  10. "We pledge allegiance to one flag" According to what law? There is none. Only fools let their kids pledge allegiance to a false god. Congrats "conservatives".

    "based on their sexual orientation."

And why does soy boy use the same language the queers use???? You wanna be polite to perverts who despise you????

Why surrender that territory to them???? Unless you're inflicted with guilt like white liberals sure are.

Only losers do that. Its not sexual orientation its sexual perversion. PERIOD.

  11. Well Don, it may be fake news but there are reports that several of the embassies IGNORED trumps order and flew the flag anyway......wouldn't be surprised.

  12. I'm so old I remember when "gay" was a perfectly good word.
I still can't get an answer to a simple anthropological question: Has there ever been a successful society (not in its death throes as Greece and Rome were) in which homosexuality was NOT taboo?

    1. As I've noted before, there's a degree of irony/hypocrisy in the phrase "gay pride." If you're so danged proud of it, call yourself what you are -- homosexual. Don't hide behind a euphemism like "gay".

  13. I wrote the President and Congress that those who disobeyed the order should be fired. The gay flag is allowed to be displayed but not on the US flag flag pole or adjacent to it on a flag pole. If allowed everyone would want their flag flown.
The bureaucracy stabbed JFK and America much more in the back during the Cuban missile crisis. JFK had ordered the liquid fuel, obsolete Jupiter missiles in Turkey removed shortly after he took office. But Khrushchev demanded we remove them before he would remove his Cuban missiles. A dilemma for JFK. He ignored the demand, popped up a FBM sub to show Turkey we had their back and eventually removed the Jupiter missiles.
The bureaucracy is a President's worse enemy.
