Trump to Mexico: Stop the invasion or pay a tax

As a candidate, Donald John Trump said Mexico would pay for a wall.

As president, he presented his plan to do so.

The President of the United States of America Donald John Trump informed Mexico it has 11 days to stop the invasion or he will slap a 5% tariff on all goods coming from Mexico.

Play time is over. The president just upped the stakes in his negotiations.

Tonight, the president tweeted, "On June 10th, the United States will impose a 5% Tariff on all goods coming into our Country from Mexico, until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP. The Tariff will gradually increase until the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied, at which time the Tariffs will be removed. Details from the White House to follow."
Before you say it is about time, remember he has had this albatross of a Mueller investigation dangling from his neck from almost the get go.

Muellersaurus growled one last time this week before succumbing to the tarpit.

This problem would be solved by now if not for a Fake News Media and Obama's attempted coup.

The White House said in a statement, “If the illegal migration crisis is alleviated through effective actions taken by Mexico, to be determined in our sole discretion and judgment, the Tariffs will be removed.”

If not, the tariff rises to 10% on July 1, to 15% on Aug. 1, to 20% on Sept. 1 and to 25% on Oct. 1.

I caution readers. All is not what it appears to be on the surface. There may be an ulterior motive. For example, President Trump is trying to get Congress to approve NAFTA's replacement.

At any rate, we are in a crisis and the president is willing to do what is necessary to end the crisis.

  1. Let's tax remittances as well.

    1. I would think those taxes on remittances could go to funding the wall - in effect making Mexico contribute to the effort.

    4. Why not seize them in toto, since the money made here by an illegal is by default illegally earned. It's no different than the money earned by a drug dealer or mafia boss.

  2. Trump has already won the NAFTA game. He’s created enough uncertainty by threatening to cancel NAFTA outright, and by getting an agreement on the USMCA but not passing it, that companies now have no choice but to move to the US. Canada are reluctantly moving to approve approve the new deal, and ups the ante with the tariffs. He wins either way. Amazing. We are truly witnessing something very special.

  3. Mexico could have stopped this if They wanted to. Now they will have to. GOOD

  4. It's a good move, but I wouldn't rely on Mexico to solve the problem by itself. The Border Wall needs to proceed. In the meantime it would be a good idea to militarize the border. It may not stop everyone, but it would show that we are serious about this. Once the border is secure, we can figure out how to get all of the illegal aliens already here out of here. The Insurrection Act was floated earlier, and that would work for me. Along with E-Verify being mandatory, welfare and food stamp denials, etc. - Elric

    1. It will take time, but watch for PDJT to create the economic incentives for self-deportation. All of the above suggestions, especially if they can't find jobs as illegals, will do just that.

  5. I think people like soros and steyer are funding the caravans. They need money and they are getting it from somewhere. What's a few million dollars to the people who hate President Trump? This may be one of their least expensive enterprises.

  6. AMLO's plan is to flood the U.S. with illegals. Conservativetreehouse.com has the story. Apparently we missed it back in June, 2018 when Obrador said, “And soon, very soon — after the victory of our movement — we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world,” Obrador said, adding that immigrants “must leave their towns and find a life in the United States.” He then declared it as “a human right we will defend.”

  7. Wow! Does he really, really, rally mean it this time? Reminds me of Issa or Gowdy "vowing" to get results from their BS hearings. What's likely - Mexico will promise to respond and Trump will postpone the tariffs. There are only two things I want to see. 1. Illegals STOPPED and 2. ORANGE JUMPSUITS from Barr. More rhetoric and sabre rattling from DC is just so much distracting crap. Trump's base deserves a hell of a lot more than a warm breeze from the East. One very good thing...Trump's judges keep coming. In the long run that's what counts the most. In the meantime, I'm one pissed off Trump fan.

    1. Trump is practically carrying the whole load alone right now. I'd direct my wrath to the Democrats and RINO's.

  8. Put a 50% tax on remittances.

  9. When congress doesn't act to fulfill its primary responsibility to protect the American people, the President must within the powers given him. I would send the army to the border, if I had the power. Over 1000 illegals entered through one spot yesterday.
Over 500,000 captured/gave up since Oct 1st with the Border Patrol estimate of 2 to 3 times more are not captured, we have had 1,500,000 at a minimum additional illegals enter our country.
When we see Cuban, Chinese and other nationalities captured, will it take another 9/11 for Congress to act?

  10. Now let's see a tax on remittances back to Mexico from all their illegals here sending money back home.
Pretty soon, we'll have The Wall paid for by Mexico

  11. At the vary least, we need the courts to stop legislating & put the DACA status back on the table as a bargaining chip. Keep in mind that latest wave are from south of Mexico. Pressure needs to be applied to those countries, too.

    Other thoughts:
    - setup or prepare a separated US territory to contain asylum seekers in, so they don't escape into the interior.

  12. How about sending a bunch of Marines in? I have no stomach for war but we have to stop this invasion. Maybe a bayonet up AMLO's wazoo will get his attention.

  13. Mexico's government is helpless in the face of the cartels. Heck, the cartels OWN US senators and representatives- Nancy and Chuck cannot get off the back of this tiger and live long, even if they use their Israeli citizenships and move there. Obama's and other corrupt scared judges stand ready to block anything. Only US military might on the border can stop cartels but Trump will have to show every other avenue shut off before he can order this.
